First ate here over 50 years ago, and the restaurant has been known for its fried seafood. The seafood platter I had at our most recent visit was not good. The oysters were fine. The flounder was watery, probably because it went in the fryer frozen. The devil crab tasted awful. The shrimp and scallops were not fresh tasting. We have been going to Lee's Inlet Kitchen for many years. About 25 years. This was the first time we were totally unimpressed. We haven't been there for a few months. It was our favorite restaurant in the area until tonight. We were extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. It was also noticeable that the portions have been dramatically reduced but the prices still are high. I understand costs have gone up but the reduced portions compared to the still high cost is quite apparent. I am not sure if we will go back when there are so many other choices in the Myrtle Beach area. I don't mind paying more. But what I really hate is when restaurants take advantage of you by charging more and give you less. read more

I've been eating here for 65 years. When I was a toddler, Ms Lee would bring a box out for me to sit on. As a family in the 60's we ate here every Friday night. Now Many years later it's one of My favorite seafood restaurants on SC Coast. The shore dinner incls : shrimp cocktail, chowder, salad, fried flounder, shrimp, scallops, oysters, lobster tail, and 2 deviled crabs. All for $48. It's more than enough to share. They have an early bird special from 4:30-6:00 and have small portions all night. Steaks, pasta, shrimp Creole and many other choice to choose from. Their hush puppies are also good. There's usually a wait during the summer months but it's worth the short wait and there is plenty of room inside or outside to sit and wait if needed. read more

Having so much places to dine in the Inlet we chanced on Lees. Beautiful neon sign stands by a one level restaurant. We were pleasantly greeted by the host in the lobby proceeded to the table seating. Lovely waitress, and hush puppies with honey butter soon arrived before our order. I had the fantail shrimp and yellow grits. my guest, fried oysters. Great table atmosphere, a beautiful bar that was filled people having a good time. The rug though out was clean. Service was excellent , Mahi Mahi was fresh, grilled and wonderfully seasoned. The seasoning was not overwhelming, just perfect. Salad was above par for house salads, dressings were def homemade. Hush puppies were light and had excellent flavor. Also had a great selection of craft beer , from light to dark. I'm tempted to go a 2nd night on my short stay lol. read more

Busy place with lots of big parties of families with kids (even for early bird since we had 90 yr old dad with us) but still great service--kept tea glasses filled etc. All the servers in our dining room seemed to be older (and by that I mean, not teens or 20s) and never stopped hustling. So sorry I don't remember our servers name but she was excellent - clearly has been there a while and knew how to keep up I'll still be very cordial and accommodating. The she crab soup was good but very thick and in my opinion, too filling to eat before a meal. It's a good thing I shared a bowl. Sharing a cup would have been plenty. My husband, a chef said he didn't think it was made with crab reaux as he makes it, but he liked it also.. a basket of sweet hushpuppies was brought before meal, served with honey butter. House salad was fresh and served with homemade dressing. Fried shrimp was lightly breaded, and it was excellent. I must have my fix of lightly breaded fried shrimp at least once when I'm at the coast. Hubby and dad had fried seafood platters and they both thoroughly enjoyed their food. It's like so many places on the inlet. Mostly fried and the broiled is over done. Always feels touristy and over hyped. I had scallops. Grouper. Shrimp broiled. It was $32 and was very average. Scallops were good , but not amazing. Nice bar and great service. Just the food fell short for me. read more

Fantastic seafood ! This was our second time eating Lee's food and it's just as good as I remember. We had carryout and they are great at packaging for food quality. Nothing was soggy or smashed together . I can tell they really care about their customers receiving a great meal. The broiled Lee's shore dinner was worth every penny. The cheesy pimento grits are delicious . The she crab soup was creamy, savory, and meaty. The fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese and a balsamic glaze was a nice spin on the appetizer. Even the tartar sauce and cocktail sauce are delicious and homemade. The kids meals were a great value and my six year old loved his fried fantail shrimp and my 3 year old loved the mozzarella sticks . The staff is friendly and ordering by phone was easy. I can tell they care about quality and detail . They made sure to ask us if we needed any sauces and silverware. We will definitely order Lee's again when in the area. read more

I don't get excited about many restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area in terms of food, but then I ate at Lee's. There were six of us that stopped by on a Saturday in July. We were promptly seated when they opened at 4:30. Our waiter was absolutely phenomenal. He was efficient and attentive. We ordered a myriad of different meals. The hush puppies were excellent (as we had three helpings). I had the pork chop which was outstanding. The onion rings were equally special. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals. As I said I don't get too excited about restaurants in the Grand Strand but Lee's is a must visit. I'm already looking forward to my next trip. read more

Our family has been patron's of Lee's for over 30 years. It has consistently been our go-to, and our long time favorite over many other options. We dined there tonight, and unfortunately I will say we have never been more disappointed. The menu offerings have changed, and some of our favorite dishes/platters are no longer available, Our dinners tonight were equally disappointing and frankly, very poor overall. The portions have become smaller and the quality has gone down hill to the degree I would've never imagined. From the coleslaw to the shrimp, scallops., etc......it is just not the same Lee's we've come to love. Last but not least, the service tonight was inexcusable. When we asked our server if we could have some hushpuppies, she immediately told us, "You won't get your hushpuppies until you place an order." Our food was delayed past three tables that were seated after us, and served lukewarm. We had no drink refills offered until we asked, and she promptly responed, "You need to give me two seconds please." Never have we ever treated servers with anything but respect, so to think this was the service at Lee's....it is unbelievable. Just so sad to see what has been a staple for generations of our family, change and not for the better. They certainly will continue to fill the house during the summer months, but we will relinquish our seats to someone else. read more

I would love to be able to comment on the food, but we never got any. We were seated at a high top in the bar, the only available table at the time, which was fine. We sat for about 15 minutes without a single person approaching our table. Not even, a "sorry, I am a bit tied up, but I will be right with you". Nada, nothing, zip. The bartender knew we were there, never said a word, never checked to see why we were not being served, never even made eye contact. We left and went across the street to a place where we were greeted warmly, served promptly and cheerily and got an excellent meal. read more

Came here on vacation since many people mentioned it as one of the top places around. However, I'm sad to say that I was very disappointed. Wait was over an hour he first day so we came back as soon as it opened the next day. Line was backed out the door about 75', so we figured "man, this must be the best seafood ever." Nope. We got a combination platter so we sampled a lot of different foods, and none of it lived up to the hype. Popcorn shrimp was good (expected), flounder had no taste, and the rest was just mediocre. Portions were very small for the price you pay. Just a little plate of the appetizer shrimp was $13, and maybe had 10 small shrimp. And it was "meh". So, I truly don't understand why this place is so popular, especially since the prices are ridiculous for what you get. I doubt we'll ever come back. read more

Never had a bad meal here, the food is always spot on! This restaurant and its owners have been around a very long time and make it worth your while to eat there. Its the last place we eat the night before heading home and we have never been disappointed. Last year 2023 we dined at Lee's as it was rated by a magazine very highly and we loved it. Fast forward to March 2024 for spring break and we looked forward to again dining here. First disappointment We had a young server who was not welcoming and seemed to not be genuine or helpful. We enjoyed our first visit to Lee's Inlet Kitchen. Due to its history and reputation, it was a place we've wanted to try for a couple of years now. Great southern selections on the menu. Was recommended by our family who resides here in winter. Our group of six was seated quickly at about 5 pm. The hush puppies were great. Unfortunately this was the best of the meal. A few of us got the early bird combo. I got mine grouped and the others got theirs fried. I got fantail shrimp that was way overcooked. The flounder and deviled crab were so so. My gf got blackened scallops and grouper. They were way over seasoned and salty. Overall everything just tasted alike. Blah! Out make server was not very personable. The restrooms are single each and on the edge of the busy dining room. I was patiently waiting my turn out of the way when a female jumped in front of me and went into the men's room. Overall not satisfied with the experience. If I spend over $200 I'd do it elsewhere. read more

We were back in the Myrtle Beach area for a few weeks and wanted to try a different restaurant than our usual stops. Friends that live locally suggested Lee's Inlet Kitchen as the place to go for the best seafood in the area. Decided to give them a try and went for an early dinner. The first impression was how clean and perfect the outside if the restaurant was. Trees and bushes perfectly landscaped! Because it Il was still off season the restaurant wasn't busy and we were seated right away. The inside of the restaurant was also beautiful and nicely appointed!! It is not an overly formal restaurant, it is perfect for families and date nights both!! Our server greeted us immediately and took our drink order. She returned quickly with our drinks and hot hush puppies (super yummy and addictive) and we ordered the small shaved onion rings. OMG, they are listed on the menu as a favorite and I understand why!!! I ordered the daily black grouper fresh catch that was featured and I was not disappointed. The fish was flaky and delicious! The only thing that made me sad was that we had so much food that I didn't have enough room for dessert. We will surely go back! read more

We were disappointed in the food. I had the flounder and creek shrimp plate. The piece of flounder was very small, about the size of a bread stick at Olive Garden. The shrimp were way over cooked, hard and too heavily breaded. Some were just very small pieces of breading with no discernible shrimp in them. The slaw was good, but they gave me enough for three people. I guess they thought if they loaded me up with slaw, I would overlook the skimpy fish. The service was good. The waitress did the best she could with what she had to work with. The ambiance was not good. There was a table of 22 seated down the middle of the room. About 13 were children under 10 years old. They did not know what an inside voice was. One boy was throwing up hush puppies and trying to catch them in his mouth and the adult next to him was encouraging him. One small girl ran around and around the table screaming while one girl was doing her dance moves at the table. Nothing said by the parents or wait staff. One father got up and tried to serve something to each child which added to the chaos, especially when a child did not want what he was serving but some adults insisted they take it. I know the behavior of children can be tough for a wait staff to handle, but with the bad food, this was just to last straw to make for a bad meal. We have decided this is our last time at Lee's. read more
