Prime Rib sandwich with tater tots
Carroll S.

The free hush puppies were a nice and delicious surprise. I had the prime rib sandwich. It was delicious! The horseradish sauce over the prime rib with crispy onions with a soft roll- so tender. My friend got their hamburger and it looked good too. They offer tater tots for a side! Got a kick out of the restrooms- setters or pointers. Hilarious!! Staff friendly- all that passed our table made sure we were doing good. We sat outside in the covered area and there was a perfect cooling breeze. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect day to enjoy their patio.

I always get so excited when I know we are going to Dead Dog. We sat at the bar as usual and ordered cocktails. A cosmopolitan for me and something for him. We started and shared the boo boo bites. These are always delicious. Then I ordered a cup of chili and he ordered the egg rolls. My chili was good but I don't remember it being so spicy. No room for dessert. If you see me there, stop by and say hello.

Scenic. A great spot on the inlet. All the ideal menu items for this type of saloon on the water. I loved my crab cakes and French Onion soup. Others had blackened fish sandwiches, fish tacos, and shrimp and grits. All good. There for a cold spell in November. Back patio was sunny, warm and buzzing at lunch. Fast turn around time and good eats...woof woof.

Fantastic restaurant, a definite must visit! This restaurant is covered with pictures of dogs that have passed away in a celebration of life and the general companionship of our furry friends. It reminded me a lot of a Día De Los Muertos style of remembrance. You might think this would make for a sad ambiance, but it was actually very inviting! Decorations of cute dogs on the windows, hanging lights, and cartoon style tabletops. The live music was very good too! The food was great. Complementary hush puppies were seasoned well accompanied by a delicious honey butter. The fried fish and shrimp were tender, crispy, and salted perfectly. No tails or veins on the shrimps. The chicken wings were decent, a bit dry, and sides were nothing too special. Certainly not worth paying a la carte prices for, but they did come with the meals. I was absolutely astounded by how fast the food came out considering the entire place was packed. There were so many employees working that the service was still excellent. The ambiance, location right on the docks, great seafood, bars, and live music make this a must for any families or people looking for a popular place to grab a drink and watch sports

Outdoor dining

If you're heading down to Dead Dog Saloon in Murrels Inlet, don't let the modest exterior fool you--what's waiting inside (and outside) is a laid-back coastal experience that's hard to beat. We chose the outdoor seating, and it was absolutely worth it. Overlooking the inlet, we enjoyed a peaceful view of small boats drifting by--one of those simple moments that makes a meal feel like a mini getaway. I went with the crab cake sandwich and fries, while Helen ordered the Cuban with tater tots. As someone from Virginia, I'm usually cautious with crab cakes--too often they're all filler and no flavor--but this one was refreshingly light, packed with crab, and genuinely delicious. One of the best surprises? The hush puppies. We had heard great things but didn't see them on the menu--turns out, they bring them out complimentary when you're seated. And yes, they absolutely live up to the hype. The staff added to the experience with their friendly, welcoming attitude, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. There are plenty of places we still want to try in the area, but this one has already earned a return visit.

Loved the vibe here and the food! Surf and turf tacos are amazing. Services was great too!

Fish taco with cilantro, lime rice I

Friendly nice folks food was real good and seasoned the fish tacos came with coleslaw and cilantro lime rice. We got spicy Korean barbecue chicken wings. They wasn't spicy, but they were flavorful and they tasted really good. Our server was excellent. They had live music and it was phenomenal the performers sound really good you gotta give this a try that everybody there was really nice folks.

Fried green tomatoes with goat cheese and Thai chili sauce

Date night on the Marsh Walk with delicious fried green tomato appetizer (with goat cheese and Thai chili sauce), and the 3 seafood entree. Good service on a busy, football Saturday night. Two big bars, an outdoor patio, and big dining room. They are on a pause for taking pictures of loved fur ones that have gone over the rainbow bridge, but love seeing the pics on the wall!

Fish bites

Was very surprised by all the dead dogs on the wall, but probably should not have been. My wife really enjoyed the goat Island sunrise drink. The fish tender bites were good with the tartar sauce was not so much. The tender bites were very, very disappointing. Some overcooked and tough "filet" over some oversize toast. The crabcake sandwich was disappointing as it was the very small side of over. Seasoned cold fries. The Caesar salad was good, however. The service from Zac was outstanding. And it was a bit chaotic, but with the live band playing it was a pretty good atmosphere.

This place was great! They bring hush puppies to your table as soon as you sit down, they were delicious. Food was good, our server was very attentive. The walls are covered in photos of customers beloved dogs who have crossed the rainbow bridge, which was very sweet. We came back in the evening for drinks and live music and got to experience HWY 17 rocks. WOW! They were so talented. Best live music I've ever experienced...and with no cover charge. Our night here was a highlight of our trip we will never forget.

Had to come back since now, our son and his lady have moved to the area. Donovan was very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious once again and to be able to be outside on a beautiful day overlooking Murrells Inlet capped off our day at Brookgreen Gardens.

The food is astronimical!!! I had a really delicious turkey and avocado wrap that was awesome..The hush puppies as an appetizer were phenomenal and the cinnamon butter that came with them was so good. Service very prompt and friendly...A real recommendation if you want a great lunch!!!

Costa Restaurant in Murrells Inlet delivered an outstanding dining experience from start to finish…read more I ordered the halibut special, and it was absolutely fantastic--perfectly prepared, fresh, flavorful, and easily one of the best seafood dishes I've had in a long time. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in every plate that leaves it. What truly elevated the evening, though, was our server, Molly. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive without ever being intrusive. Her recommendations were spot on, and she made sure every detail of our meal was taken care of with genuine hospitality. If you're looking for exceptional food paired with top-notch service, Costa is a must-visit when you're in Murrells Inlet. We'll definitely be back!

Wow what a disappointment! Came here to try after reading…read moresuch rave reviews and received less than satisfactory meals. Dover scallops and risotto - over cooked risotto (almost mush consistency), burnt butter on the scallop sear. I decided to send the dish back because the scallops were not seared well and undercooked in the middle. Server comes back after talking to the kitchen and the response was "if I was sure I wanted the scallops to be remade because they are a high cost menu item" or something to that line. Ended up ordering a sausage pasta with broccoli rabe, and that was equally dissatisfying with the lack of balance with the bitterness of the rabe and pasta sauce. What a disappointment for a restaurant that prides itself on local seafood.

The place was fairly empty when we arrived. Right after we sat down a large family reunion group was led in and was seated in the inclosed porch. Our server arrived and took our order. Bev was having the pasta primavera. I went with their famous personal pizza. We were waiting 45 minutes (quite awhile for our food.). I think I was finished with my second coffee. Finally my pizza arrived. Hot steaming and delicious. I waited for Bevs food to arrive. Letting my food cool down a bit. 15 minutes later still no dish. There was a mix up on our orders and the kitchen thought her food was out so they gave her dinner to someone else ordering the same thing. The manager came to our table talked with us and apologized for the mix up. We understand human error. He paid for our dinner and dessert. It was so kind of him to go above and beyond expectations. We really appreciated his kindness and professionalism. When Bevs food arrived it was absolutely delicious. The manager offered to make me a fresh pizza but it was still very warm. It did not need replacing. Bovines pizza is made in a brick oven . You can watch them make it. It is located by the entrance way. Our server kept an eye on us to see if we needed anything. We were all set. He was great refilling my coffee and Bevs tea. I would recommend this place in a heart beat. Everyone is so kind. The food delicious and a great view of the inlet. They must have updated the menu recently because it was a lot higher and didn't have some of the same items. I'm uploading the pics of the menu as of today. Lobster Mac and cheese was light on the lobster and scallops, but had a lot of shrimp. The lobster grilled cheese was much better. Shrimp po-boy shrimp was ok, but we had shrimp the past few nights that was much better. My MIL said the chicken pot pie was the best she ever had. We've been to three different places in the past few days and the thing that stood out here the most was the service. Our server was very sweet, but had too many tables. The other places we went to were bringing us refills before we had to ask. Our drinks were empty for a while here, and I know it wasn't that she wasn't paying attention. She had several big tables. We made a reservation for outdoors, but when we got there, they said they don't reserve for indoor or outdoor, which isn't want they said on the phone. We also were there for 1.5 hours with the reservation. I think maybe they were just understaffed. But there were also several empty tables which is unusual at 6:00 in the summer. So overall, it was good, but with so many options, we wouldn't feel compelled to go back.

No pics-the food was too good to wait!…read more Our service was excellent. She was prompt, attentive, and gave extra attention to details like bringing a plastic plate instead of a ceramic one when I asked for an empty plate for our toddler. We had a large party and that didn't diminish the quality of our service. The food was fantastic. The crab cakes say "no filler" on the menu and they mean it. That was exactly how a crab cake should be made and the texture was perfect. Our party had every iteration of oysters you can get and they were all great. They were accommodating for a member of our party with celiac and her food was exactly what she was promised. Other points of note: Bar service was quick and friendly. The hostesses promptly accommodated our party of 10. The straps on the high chair actually worked (if you're a parent then you know what I mean). And my favorite of all: there was no tv to be seen from our table so we were all able to chit chat without distraction from glowing tv screens. This was our first trip, both to Graham's Landing and Pawley's Island. We typically vacation on Georgia beaches but we will 100% be coming back to this beach and more importantly Graham's Landing.
