After Rossi's restaurant closed (to our dismay) Flamingo Grill quickly became one of our favorite restaurants in Myrtle Beach. We typically eat there 2 or 3 times a year on our beach vacation. We had concerns about new owners but everything is as good as we have come to expect. Wait staff is professional and friendly. From the lobster bites to the Key Lime pie everything was excellent. A local recommended we try this restaurant and get the Lobster bites. The decor was a show stopper! It had a fun diner meets mafia nightclub feel, I'm not quite sure how to describe it. Lots of shiny black and it was so clean. We ordered the filet minion and lobster bites. The steak also came with new potatoes and sugar snap peas. The fork tender steak was a perfect medium and had a light seasoning. The lobster bites are one inch pieces that have a very light breading. They were delicious and the lobster flavor still shined through. I personally was disappointed with the potato's and sugar snap peas. They seemed to be boiled with no seasoning. The Ahi Tuna was excellent! The side of risotto tasted like it was made the day before, left on the counter and reheated a hour before being served. Disappointing for the side to be a 1 and the main dish to be a 5. I rate them in the middle for that; 3 stars. EXCELLENT SERVICE though... Well we just found a new favorite place for a really nice night out. First of all the decor is lovely and the tables are NOT crowded. I have the Ahi peppercorn tuna and it was cooked perfectly. I ordered it rear. Huge piece of tuna and very tender and flavorful. The Garlic Mashed and Snap peas were also delicious. It also came with a salad and I recommend the house dressing. My guy had the GIANT cut of prime rib. He ordered an end cut medium and it was perfect. To end the night we split a piece of chocolate pecan pie. It is made in house and came out warm and very delicious. It is rich so split it for sure. They have fish specials each night and I think I'll try the Grouper next time. Guess I always thought Flamingo Grill was more like a diner. Went with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. This is a really nice restaurant with great food. Inside is really impressive and nicely decorated. Had the small plate lobster bites (supposed to be half full order but seemed like plenty of food). Friend had the pasta with scallops. We ate there last night for my daughter's birthday. We knew it changed hands. Unfortunately, the fluid was horrible. I am not exaggerating 1 bit. The lobster bites were tasteless, not crunchy and not cooked all the way. The\nCrab cake was so small the she crib soup was tasteless, no flavor and there was no crab meat or lobster in it. Like the other owner put in it, even the bread sucked, it was rubbery. Cold, no spices on it and the vegetables were soaked in water, little red potatoes and sugar snap peas. My only complaint is that if you're going to charge an upgrade for asparagus, I would probably give the customer more than five pieces. It's $6.00 for asparagus per their menu, and it was a little insulting to see five pieces of asparagus. I got the Delmonico steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The steak lacked seasoning and broccoli was bland. The mashed potatoes on the other hand were tasty. Others in our party got the chicken. Excellent local restaurant! Our server, Liam, was extremely attentive to my husband and myself. I had the fried shrimp and there were a dozen of biggest, freshest shrimp I have had in M Beach. Batter was very light. My husband had blackened salmon and thought it was also very good. Meals came with crisp and fresh salads and two sides. All were good! I really like the 50's decor.
