Creek Ratz is ok. The parking lot was packed. He dropped me off. The bar was packed, so we sat at a table. The chair and the table were wobbly. The table so much, that when she put my drink down, she spilled a lot of it. Luckily they have a lot of napkins (a napkin dispense) on the table. We were looking for a new to us restaurant for lunch and decided to try Creek Ratz. We have passed this many times over the years but had never stopped in. The food was really good. My wife ordered a Rueben and fries, and she enjoyed it. I ordered a blackened fish taco with tater tots. It was very good. It's a very casual restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside, which is a nice view and overlooks the inlet. The service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back. read more

Our first time in Murrells inlet and we loved it! We chose to eat on the patio next to the water. I typically don't like to eat outside but there was plenty of shade. Nice soft music playing and a perfect breeze. The food was wonderful. I recommend the crab stuffed mushrooms and the creek rat Reuben. My husband is a chicken salad connoisseur and said the chicken salad melt was comeback worthy. Our waitress, Taylor, was so nice and very attentive. I took a seat at the bar where I don't recall her name but she was also very attentive and came up to serve my boyfriend and I right away! Bad experience. Maybe a misunderstanding, but in the end we just left and then had an amazing dinner at Drunken Jacks. The staff very poorly handled the situation (VERY POORLY) and actually moved us from a table outside where the music was playing and put us at a table 10 feet from the loudest speakers I have ever heard. Thursday night dinner w/cousin & sister. Chose it because of the name (A bit of insanity; I understand your confusion.) Outside tables were on a wait, but we were seated in about 15 min. It took about 10 min for us to be greeted by our server, Addy, and our drink orders taken. However, once we got Addy, she was wonderful - attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, the area, and food combinations. She's what made this a 4-star and not a 3-star review. Cousin chose the Carolina salad, blue cheese and honey mustard vinaigrette on the side. Sister and I split the Jerk flounder platter with a side salad, and an order of sweet potato fries. I also ordered a cup of the Murrells Inlet Clam Chowder. Hush puppies were brought to the table before the meal, and they were good, just not what we're used to. Sweet potato fries had a cinnamon sugar dusting and came with a side of honey mustard dressing at Addy's suggestion. GREAT taste I never would have combined. Kudos! Jerk flounder was thin, had lots of butter, and very little Jerk. Definitely a "don't bother." Very disappointed; was so looking forward to the Jerk. The clam chowder, however, is listed as Manhattan style but it was SO much tastier than that, with less veggies and lots of Italian seasoning. Skip the cup and get the bowl. My family decided to go here for dinner after arriving at our beach house. I'm glad it was the first place we went because the other places we went to throughout the week were much better. My dad, sister, and I shared two of the shrimp baskets. They were fine, but the sweet potato fries weren't as good as I would have hoped. My mom loved the quesadilla though. They also had cheap beer. The live music was what really made this a place I wouldn't go to again. It was so loud that our waitress couldn't hear us when we needed something. Came here on October 10th with a friend of mine who lives in Myrtle Beach and said it was a good place to eat . All the years that I have visited Myrtle Beach area , I had never been to Murrells Inlet , so it was about time . Anyway , we were seated right away and we requested outside . Our table was a little too close to the stage , but the place was busy so we didn't have much choice . The music at first wasn't that loud where we could still have a conversation , but after the singer took a break , it was louder than before , so we ended up leaving to walk the boardwalk and take pictures . We started with the Fried Pickles and I have had them before and usually not too impressed with them , but these tasted a little better than most and came with ranch . I got the Pepperoni and Sausage Pizza and she got Shrimp and Grits . I was really surprised how good the pizza was ! The sauce was spot on , the crust was a little puffy and soft , the pepperoni was tasty and I liked them better than the sausage which wasn't bad though . She really liked her Shrimp and Grits and said they are one of the more popular dishes served here . I liked the vibe of the restaurant and it was clean and the employees were very nice . Nothing beats Southern Hospitality . I get many compliments at my job in Las Vegas because of me giving great service with Southern Hospitality . It shows when you were raised that way . We really enjoyed our lunch at Creek Ratz! The view was fantastic at the outside tables. Our server Alley was great, very nice and attentive. The fried flounder and shrimp were both good, not too greasy, not too breaded. The real star was the sweet potato fries, which come with a cinnamon sugar topping. I've never had them like this, seems like it should be stated in the menu, but it was a welcome surprise. The only negatives were the regular fries (they were ok, seemed like frozen shoestring fries) and the hush puppies (very small and bland). Overall we enjoyed and would come back again! read more

The place is cute and has nice outdoor, semi and full indoor. The service was a wreck but I was told this is not the normal. She was pleasant but explained she was up until 2am. Very mixed up, never got the pickles or poppers. There was no soups of the day. The food was good, fish buffs was very nice, the fish sandwiches we light and delicious. The Tri basked was good but only 3 oysters. I had the blackened. Sweat potato fries has cinnamon on it but not terrible. You must get a side order of hush puppies for all to share. The 3 you get on a few dishes is not enough. We were a party of six with 3 checks. Funny thing is we are all fro NY and would have given 20% but the service sucked Overall a nice place for a quick bit and a view of the boardwalk. Oysters were muddy and had a bug in it. The server was supposedly "unable" to take the oysters off or even void a transaction in order to not charge me for the oysters that I did not eat due to the fact that they were disgusting. I also then had to still go get dinner and pay for that since I could not eat the food here. I called to speak to a manager and they were too busy to speak to me. As a server myself, I give leeway with this kind of stuff, but I will never be coming back here knowing that she could have voided the transaction because that is a very simple thing to do. Love the atmosphere outside and the live music! We were able to get seated right away for a large group outside on a Thursday evening around 5:30pm. We brought our dog as well. The view over the marsh is beautiful. Live music started around 7pm. I ordered the fried chicken tenders with French fries. My husband ordered the Buffalo chicken pizza. We also tried the mozzarella sticks. The hush puppies were yummy. I also really liked the Buffalo chicken on the pizza. The mozzarella sticks were super yummy and came out quickly. Our food took about an hour to be served. When it came out, two of 8 meals did not come out at the same time. The final meals took another 10 minutes to come out. This is not typical service for Creek Ratz though. We think there was an issue with staffing or the kitchen. The restaurant didn't charge us for one of the meals that came out after everyone else's. read more

This place is a great place to go listen to some live music and to have a few drinks with your friends and yes it's kid friendly. Our server was very friendly as well, but she was slammed. It was obvious that they're either very unorganized or need to hire additional help. If I were grading on the food alone, I would have only given three stars. If you're really hungry, don't go here because it could take at least 90 to two hours to get your food. read more

We have been eating at this place for years but yesterday was sorely disappointed in the quality of the food. We ordered hot dogs for the kids, one without a bun and one with a bun. Both hotdogs are severely overcooked and the bun was rock hard. We also ordered a Reuben sandwich, which was also overcooked, dried out and inedible. On the bright side, the chicken tenders were tasty, made right and were a decent sized portion. The atmosphere was great, complete with a singer playing modern country songs.
