It took forever to get our cocktails. They were not good. I got a cosmopolitan, the couple we were with got a watermelon margarita , a strawberry lemonade, which were bad. He got a coconut mojito. Truly one of the best dining experiences we've had in a really long time. My husband and I brought our 9 month old and his parents here for an early Father's Day dinner and it was great! Our waitress (Catherine?) was so down to earth, attentive, and really knew the menu, especially when asked allergy related concerns. She was phenomenal with our daughter, which calmed my husband's nerves about having her at a restaurant. The drinks and food were spectacular and the ambiance is 10/10. Literally every person we encountered was so friendly and kind. We can't wait to go back. I also want to add that we loved the home made desserts. Truth - Tried the place 2 weeks after it opened & it was a disaster with 10 of us and too much to explain. We decided try try again 10 months later after seeing better reviews & yes the food & service was very good. None of us (7) had a complaint. Unlike last time we were served quickly. Was there last night (Father's Day). First the food itself was good. But, the service was not good. Our waitress was very unfriendly and borderline rude. Everything was very slow. We had 6 people 3 had prime rib, one had a ribeye (they said it was tough) and two had salads. The salads came out well after the other meals arrived. Second time there. We were there right after they opened. Again the food back then was good but service was bad but we chalked that up to being new. For us the service has not changed. Won't go back. read more

We have been to this wonderful restaurant twice. We actually find ourself there two wedding anniversaries in a row. The reason would be the service is wonderful and the food amazing!!! Their outdoor area is very inviting for casual drinks with friends and inside there are 3 bars! This time we went they had a rehearsal dinner for a wedding so they accommodate large groups! The decor is wonderful!!! Last, but not least, our waitress I gotta say is top notch! Her name is Favor. We didn't have to ask for anything! She asked us, and all I can say I know we will be heading back again and not wait a year! We live in an area with a lot of restaurants! We are still trying out more! I had the grouper and my hubby had the pork chop dinner. Everything was fresh! The salad perfect! Chocolate martini amazing! Came with friends on 4/17. We all got prime rib with baked potatoes and salad. Also got the grilled shrimp appetizer. The appetizer came out AFTER our dinner was served to us. My prime rib was very chewy (got it medium rare). Had to ask for butter and sour cream for my baked potato. Service was horrible. $194 meal. Won't be back. read more

I ate at Palm 33 last night and in my opinion, last nights dinner, was not very good. I have gone there in the past for drinks, sitting out side and it was very nice. It is a beautiful venue. I had a blacked grouper which was very good I admit. The problem was with the asparagus that came with it. They were overcooked, stringy and soggy. Worse there was only 4 pieces on the plate. My Pecan Pie was tiny, flat and looked to be over a week old. I may go back again for drinks. may even give them a second chance, but it was a big disappointment indeed. read more

My wife and I went to dinner at Palm 33 on 3/11/26 for my birthday. We were seated in the bar area in a booth. We received immediate service from the crackerjack and very personable bartender (James) who we had met previously when stopping in for a nightcap from an evening out several weeks prior. At that time, we promised him we would be back to try the place for dinner. The owners have put heart and soul into decor, ambience, service, and food offerings with daily fresh seafood specials, along with other specials that we encountered that evening on "Prime Rib Wednesday". The bar is a tribute to the late NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt (one of the co-owners is his doppelgänger), and he and his lovely wife stopped by our table more than once to warmly welcome us and to get to know us a little bit (we live less than 1/2 mile up the street from the restaurant). They also graced me with a complimentary set of birthday beads for fun neckwear, a piece of chocolate birthday cake that we shared, and participated with Jamie in singing Happy Birthday. Both enjoyable and humbling at the same time. My wife had the Grouper special with asparagus and a baked sweet potato. I had a rack of ribs that truly were "fall off the bone" tender and flavorful. I also had a baked potato (good) and Cole Slaw (delicious). I found pricing to be very reasonable for what we ordered (including 2 glasses of wine each) and overall a good solid value. Combining all the key elements of ambience, staff interaction (professional with a couple of sides of good humor), the warmth extended by the owners, the food quality and pricing, we will definitely be back - and not only for special occasions. Though the race car out front kind of throws you off ,we now understand why. The owner looks just like Dale Earnhardt and is a great guy, Also the little gift shop as you walk through the front door is a surprise but, your eyes will quickly focus on the fresh baked desserts which are made in house. We ordered the prime rib and the hog Fish, which were both absolutely outstanding. The service was second to none and the decor creates a great vibe. Nicely decorated for Christmas and made you feel welcome. We will definitely be going there again and again. read more

My husband and I are locals that frequent several restaurants in Murrells Inlet. When Palm 33 opened, we were there and even met the owner and his wife who appeared very nice. The food at that time was very good and we recommended to several friends. The second time we visited, the food was okay (not near as good as the first time) and my husband had to tell the waitress how to make a whiskey sour to relay to the bartender. What they brought out was not even close and we were told they didn't have all the ingredients and just made something they thought would be close...which wasn't by a long shot. Knowing they were new and still working the kinks out, we tried them three more times. Tonight will be our last. First let me say that we are foodies who know how steaks should be properly cooked; therefore, when we ordered ribeyes medium, we expected a warm PINK center. My husband's came out charred on the outside and a deep red center which he was willing to eat regardless. Mine, however, was rare with the center not even remotely cooked! We waited forever to be approached about how the food was and eventually had to get a busboy to find our waiter. We saw the owner making rounds and literally turn and walk away as he saw our waiter taking my steak back. When they brought back my steak with the same scoop of now cold instant potatoes, it was charred black and still way under cooked. I could not eat it, so my husband gave me what was left of his hoping I could stomach it better than mine. The owner then walked over and asked how we liked everything and I told him about the steak not being cooked properly both times. He offered to cook the steak more (it was already burnt on the outside to which I had said no. He then asked how to make it right, which I felt was pointless at this point since my husband was about done and we already sat there a long time. I finally said remove one from our bill. He acted appalled and asked why would he do that if I was going to eat it. A truly good owner would have offered at least a reduction in the bill or some other way to compensate our loss, but he never did a thing. I then told him we would never be frequenting his establishment again to which he arrogantly just walked. We paid our $90 tab without finishing our meal which was inedible and cold at this point. Mind you, we still tipped the waiter generously as he was not to blame and was empathetic to our demise at least. I can honestly say out of every restaurant my husband and I have dined at, we have not ever been treated as bad as this owner treated us or ever had a steak cooked so poorly. read more
