We got there a bit early. The ballet parking attendant welcomed us, opened all doors of my vehicle for me and my party. He said "sir... enjoy your meal. I will take it from here" as I gave him the keys to my car and he handed a ticket to identify my car. They still confirmed our arrival on their list and after waiting for a few minutes, they sat us at our table earlier than the opening time and started service. Out of the many places I have been to, it is the first time I see servers all come out at once with a demeanor of "it is go time". No hesitation, not dragging their arms... it looked like they had been waiting for this moment and it could not come soon enough... they were eager to serve us. I had my youngest child who is very inquisitive and the server had no issues answering questions and making concessions. What the server described about the things we were ordering was on-point. We knew exactly what we were getting and, quite honestly, the food and beverages were even better than described even when she was very detailed. I noticed a gentleman who was prepping our plates and believe me when I say, this fella was making sure everything was perfect. We could see the body language and the focus when setting everything on the plate. He wanted nothing out of place. That said, the food was nothing short from incredible. I had a New York strip steak which is probably my favorite cut. The seasoning, the cook and the tenderness was so great that I believe this might have been the best steak I have had and I have had many from the east coast all the way to the west and from north to south. The server came around the perfect amount of times to refill, ask if everything was okay or to take plates away. We were never left unattended at the point we felt we were the only ones there although the place was getting busy very quick. Food came out very prompt, but the quality never suffered. The manager came to us, introduced herself and said "if you need anything, do not hesitate to call me over". Once we were done enjoying our meals, my server asked me for my ballet parking ticket. She said to not worry about rushing but that she would keep an eye out for us and would make sure our car was ready by the time we needed to leave. When we closed our tab and started to leave our table, I could see her rush to the ballet and come back. By the time we walked to the door, my car was right there waiting for me. Plain and simple, I know it is fine dine. But I have experienced places that when you come with children they may not take you as serious or put you wherever you wouldn't bother anyone and even put you in the back burner. Here? If this is not excellent service, with staff that cares and high quality food, I don't know what is. This place has high standards and it shows. So, I will confidently say, you don't have to try this place... you NEED to try this place. I have never been as confident about recommending a place as I am about New York Prime. This is a well oiled machine that will not let anyone down. Great job to everyone who was serving guests on August 20, 2026 at 5pm. You guys rocked it! We were able to sit at the bar. I ordered red a chocolate martini. He ordered a very expensive scotch with a cube. We had decided to split the bacon which is thick cute. Delicious. Dinner consisted of the chopped steak for me and the carpaccio for him. My chopped steak was outstanding as was his carpaccio. No dessert for both of us. I really want dessert. read more

We went to New York Prime for a birthday dinner, so I wanted to order something worth celebrating. I chose the New York strip with the creamed spinach and a baked potato, and the steak was cooked exactly to my liking with a nicely seasoned crust. What a lovely birthday dinner! The silver birthday confetti was a great welcome and our whole meal was excellent. We moved here from Atlanta earlier this year, and the New York Prime in Buckhead was a longtime fave. Tonight, I was delighted that they had crab cake(s) for an appetizer; delicious crab meat, corn, over a mustard sauce, and a four oz portion. We got our usual filet -- no char for me-- and the asparagus and hash browns for us to share. As if the amazing food wasn't enough... Snow started coming down while the lobster was being served tableside! Seafood: Honestly, for a steakhouse, the seafood really shines here! The Chilean Sea bass is divine, the stone crab claws are perfect (though pricey), the lump crab atop the steak! Their lobster is tender, perfectly prepared and will absolutely melt in your mouth alongside the fresh drawn butter and warmed lemon halves. Delish! Steak-wise: The Porterhouse for 2 is the way to go-- this way you get two cuts of meat and the tender bits close to the bone. The filet is nice too! For the Sides: The creamed spinach & potatoes lyonnaise are the way to go! I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the best restaurant I've ever been too, the food was fantastic the valet was lovely and even though we came a little underdressed they were still very nice and respectful to us overall 12 out of 10 experience, they were even kind enough to check up on us every so often to make sure everything was good which was really nice. Made reservations well in advance and took my wife here for our wedding anniversary. We've eaten here numerous times over the years and have never been disappointed. This is our favorite restaurant to dine. Steaks, lobster and sea bass are always superb. Joshua was our excellent server, he never missed an opportunity to check on us. Drinks are top shelf, the old fashion for me and the wife had the haute cosmo and chocolate martini, all excellent. 2.5 stars TL;DR: mediocre steak house and dishes, nice service, everything tasted burnt Came here for a quick dinner and luckily was able to grab a table without a reservation. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. FOOD: ~Complimentary bread sourdough (3/5): did not taste or have texture of sourdough. Was just okay. ~Complimentary bread raisin loaf (2.5/5): super dense and overbaked. Unfortunately crust was too hard and interior was dry. ~Baked shrimp (3/5): shrimp was overcooked. Sauce was overly lemon-y. ~Sea bass (3/5): was cooked well, but lacked seasoning due to the size/cut of the fish (too thick) ~Bone in ribeye (3/5): was cooked more rare than medium rare. Outside was overly charred and had a burnt taste. Fat was not rendered, therefore, chewy. ~Sauteed onions (2/5): small pieces you could taste the flavor of the onions/caramelization, but majority of it was so "caramelized" that all you tasted was bitter ash ~Sauteed mushrooms (2/5): same as the onions ~Lyonnaise (2/5): the potatoes were cooked okay but not seasoned enough, and again, the onions were straight up burnt. This review is not a reflection of the service and the people that work there. Everyone was lovely and accommodating. The ambiance mirrored that quintessential "New York" steakhouse experience. It was New Year's Eve, there was a bit of a jam as far as getting our table, but that could be expected. The chopped Italian salad was well dressed and the shrimp cocktail was solid. The cheesy potatoes were okay. The sourdough bread was basic. The raisin bread was stale. The Brussel sprouts were served cold, and lacking flavor. The bone in ribeye (oscar style) was lacking in crab and in flavor. The meat was tough. The "American wagyu" is a bit of a red herring and generally steakhouse trickery. The cut was fibrous. Granted "Pittsburgh style" is not for everyone and personally "charred meat" wouldn't be my first choice but these simply were not the best steaks we've had as far as cuts and flavor. Overall, the meal simply wasn't worth the price. But the truth is, most likely it won't ever have to be, for a traveling golf trip or a local splurge in dire search for that New York steakhouse allure. It's not Keens or Bryant and Cooper or Halls. Just simply go in knowing there are better steakhouses out there, and maybe a bourbon or three is required to mask it. I'm sure they are trying their best, but we won't be back unfortunately. read more

My wife and I ate last night at New York Prime. She had the petite filet and I had the bone in ribeye. It was delicious and it was the best steak she ever had. We had a handwritten card on the table that told us happy anniversary. Our server was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed our evening. Our sides were asparagus and cheese potatoes. It was good but the asparagus could have a little more seasoning and the cheese potatoes were just average to be honest. Overall great ambiance and it was a terrific meal. The ambience was cacophony. The seating too close together and the chatter and talking was a din. The service was perfunctory. The food - the beef was done perfectly. Seasoned well. I went and had a steak, two other people joined in. The atmosphere was wonderful and the steaks were excellent. Only my steak had a lot of fat in it. I know it's supposed to be marbleized, but this was excessive. I would say half the steak was fat anyway it was a huge steak. I was able to enjoy it. We had a wonderful time. We booked a last minute reservation and was able to get a table for 8 at 6pm. That should have been a sign right there. We arrived a couple minutes early and were greeted and seated immediately. The alter was very attentive all night long making small chatter, recommendations and checking on us a fair amount of time and not once did we feel rushed. The food on the other hand was not very good. The bone in rib eye lacked any resemblance of quality. It was more charred than flavorful. Either they forgot spices or the awful smoked old fashioned. The sides are plentiful and the mashed potatoes and fries with onion rings were just OK. When I'm back in the area I will definitely seek other options read more

I will start off by saying this is not a family friendly restaurant for those with young kids. We traveled from out of town (DMV) to celebrate my birthday. We had our toddler with us and we asked for a booster or highchair and were told we can go home and get one to bring back (umm excuse me) and they don't have any. We thought about leaving right then and there because Ruth Chris would never speak that way. Anyway, the host needs additional training but the waiter was respectful. Our food was delicious with the exception of the bland asparagus that had no salt or butter. Just steamed, untrimmed, flavorless asparagus. The oyster were top tier but the steak and seabass were just ok. Sides are served à la carte and big enough to share with multiple people but if you're a big creamed spinach lover, pass on the one here. Although the valet park, we did ask to park our own vehicle and had no problem. They don't offer anything special for birthdays like Ruth Chris so don't expect a free mini desert. They did have some small "happy birthday" decorations at our table which were cute and shown on my wine glass. All in all, it was an ok experience but we have no plans to return when back in the area. It's a one and done steakhouse for us. read more
