    Wagu Filet Mignon*

Service was excellent. Celebrated my husbands birthday, the restaurant decorated the table, gave a card, and gave a dessert on the house which I thought was super special and cute . My husband got the scallops and was raving about them . I loved their Cesar salad but did not take a picture . We both tried the wagu filet which was so yummy. I would highly recommend this place and will come back again when I'm in the area!

Come with me on a magical birthday experience! First, my boyfriend contacted the restaurant and informed them that it was my birthday so when we arrived, the hostess immediately wished me happy birthday and led us to the most intimate and beautiful setting. Thank You! Next, our waitress Karen came over and wished me happy birthday and provided us with quality service from start to end. Drinks: I no longer wish to drink a lemon drop from anywhere other than this restaurant. This was a freshly squeezed lemon drop and the alcohol balance was perfect! Appetizers: thanks to Yelp, I checked in to dinner and was provided with a free appetizer or dessert. I decided on the appetizer and boy was I pleased with my selection. The dish was called "Angels on Horseback" and to provide context, the dish consisted of "three sea scallops wrapped in applewood-smoked bacon, vegetable puree, bacon-bourbon glaze"- menu description. This dish was SO juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the bacon almost seeped through the scallops, adding a sweet, savory flavor to the dish. It was shareable as the portions were huge so feel free to share with someone special. I rate this a solid 10 forks and a smile! Entree: for my main course I ordered the Pan-Seared Sea bass. Menu description "Purple and golden beet purees, garlic spinach, celery root, baby pear gastrique" This was the BEST sea bass I've had in a while and here is why, the sea bass was perfect! Juicy, well seasoned, topped with a crispy layer and surrounded by complimenting items. The garlic spinach-sautéed to perfection! The celery root, baby pear, and purple and golden beet were all magical! This was the kind of dish that you had to chew slowly and enjoy. It's no surprise here, I rate this dish 10 forks, 10 knives, and a happy tummy smile! Dessert: unexpected but so thoughtful! The restaurant surprised me with a delicious and creamy cheesecake at the end and I fought back tears at this beautiful surprise. Overall, I had a very pleasant birthday dining experience. My compliments to the chef for displaying fine culinary skills and my compliments to Karen and the staff for offering quality services. I'll definitely return.

The food was amazing, but it was the service that made the experience exceptional! Our server Matt was attentive, helpful with our food and cocktail selection, and just very personable. He along with the food was chef's kiss.

I normally post good pictures and pictures of the inside and outside of a restaurant. This time I have the beautiful picture of my grandparents celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. I searched for an upscale restaurant and came across this one and great reviews, and I was not disappointed. Neither were my grandparents. I was able to call ahead, make the reservation, leave my credit card on file, and Sonja took care of all the rest. Thank you for providing my grandparents a fantastic place to celebrate their love. They ordered the oyster thoroughbred oysters for their appetizer and the rib eyes for their main course. Thank you again for everything!

    The oink in my mouth

Wanted a nice experience on our vacation disappointed is an understatement diabolical was our experience. The waiter was great, food awful we ordered two pork chops then got asked how we wanted them cook "um maybe all the way through" received raw pork was not expecting parasites for dinner. Upon receiving our pork we sent them back to be cooked more after taking a bite I could feel the pig oink in my mouth. For a 50 dollar pork chop that wasn't even cooked I could have got a whole pig just for myself and done it wayyyy better! If you're planning to be throughly disappointed while spending over $200 then I recommend going to this terrible restaurant. But if you want brain eating parasites get yourself their pork chops!!

Last night, my wife and I went to Thoroughbreds for dinner and it was an amazing experience. Our waiter hunt was a great young man allowed us to take our time looking at the menu brought us our appetizers then our salad nothing was rushed. It was perfect and to make it even better. The manager came up to check on us and say hi and made everything special. From the hostess to the waiting staff the management and the chef is incredible. I had the bluefin appetizer which is by far the best I've had anywhere in South Carolina. My wife got the Sea bass, which was incredible. I ended up getting lobster tails and steak and as always unbelievable. The bluefin tuna was so good. Followed it up with crème brûlée and in house made Key-lime cheesecake! We got an order to go for my daughter. When She got home she took it right out of the fridge and ate it all gone.

This is a wonderful restaurant with absolutely amazing food. That said it is $100 per person from regular menu. There is a special menu from 4:00 to 6:30 PM that is 3 courses for $60-but you have to ask for it after they show you the actual menu!!!! for this I have given them four stars . On the regular menu 1/2 of a chicken is $40 with no sides other than mashed potatoes. It is GORGEOUS INSIDE AND THE STAFF ARE IMPECCABLE. I HAD MORE PICS but was limited by Yelp.

    Surf and turf

Delicious food, ambiance is perfect for a fancy date night or work dinner. The steak is amazing and seafood as well. I got filet and lobster and it was perfect.

This is a place where the locals go for good food, company, at great prices and relaxing atmosphere.... a few of the locals shared this with us while we were there. It is a true sports bar with TVs showing different sporting events, and 2 pool tables, and a dart board as well as a casual seating for large parties and small as well as nice size bar. We got the fried pickles, chicken breast strips with a teriyaki sauce, chicken wings and crab lobster wontons...all were soooo good and ample portions. A great place to visit to just relax or even dance to some good music. I highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to have a good meal in a nice atmosphere without all the pretense of a snooty place. The owner as well as the other servers are really nice.

The outside is great for families or for a date night. They have a section where they have an outside bar so you can be by the water. They also have a small stage that I'm sure they have music outside. So we started off with drinks and some appetizers. We had the calamari, street corn dip and the margarita. We had the steak with a side order of shrimp, had the Big chill burger with an extra side the Hawaiian pasta salad and the Big Chill Island salad with chicken. Service was good. The apps were tasty and if you like spicy hot it was good. The steak and shrimp was good and flavorful, the burger was good but not the pasta salad. It was not good, that even my daughter didn't like it. As for my Big Chill Island salad was also a disappointment. Not sure what it was but the flavors just didn't go well together. We had a reservation for 6:45 pm and arrived a little after 6:30. Almost everyone in the group went to the bar to wait and was told someone would come for them when the table was ready. I stopped in another store on the way in to the restaurant, so I was a few minutes behind. When I came in, I told the hostess that I'm meeting the rest of my party who is potentially already seated, if she could direct me to where. I gave her the name it was under, and she said they weren't checked in yet. I thought it was strange, but it was almost 6:45 and thought we should still be fine. I texted them to let them know what I was told-they DID check in, so I told the hostess I would wait until the table was ready with her so I could let the rest of my party know. I waited until 7:00 and asked her if we were still waiting for a table or if they were waiting for the rest of my party to come out front and she said she would go check. She came back and said that there still wasn't a table ready and we'd have to wait about 15 more minutes. I joined the rest of my group and went back up front since no one came to get us and asked again. We are now approaching an hour past our reservation and she had seated several other big groups one of which specifically told me they did not have a reservation. I got a little frustrated and let it be known and we were finally seated right about 7:45. If it wasn't for the fact that we had two small children with us that were losing their mind, I would've been fine, even if I was annoyed. When we were finally seated, we were fortunately greeted with a wonderful server, Abby A. I was not overly thrilled with the choices of food on the menu, but we had 6 adults and everyone found something and they were all famished, so I couldn't get many pictures. We ordered the street corn dip (delicious), crab hushpuppies (probably would have been really good had they not been so overcooked/on the verge of burnt) and island fries (I didn't try because 2 of the adults were tearing from the peppers) As for entrees, I settled for the steak skewers, which were well cooked, and tasted OK. I opted to get asparagus instead of the broccolini, but it was WAY overcooked, flavorless, and soggy. I wish I thought to ask for some other than fries because the 2 I tried weren't worth eating. Others ordered chicken peanut mango salad (good), Hawaiian Kalua pork (enjoyed), Capera Island salmon (done well), low country pasta added shrimp (shrimp was cooked nicely), and hamburger kids meal...thinner that McDonald's! She didn't even want to eat the burger "slice". The food was decent, but not nearly good enough for me to ever go back after waiting over an hour our time for a reservation that was made over a week ago without any apologies or even checking in on us. If I hadn't kept checking back, I don't think we would've been seated for a while. I could've spent about $400 somewhere else and had better food and treated with more respect while waiting for our LATE reservation.

Since it was my father's last night in North Myrtle Beach until September I thought it would be a great place to have our last dinner together for a while. I dialed up my app and made a 7PM reservation for three. We pulled in about 6:50 and found a spot right in front of the restaurant...it was going to be a good night. We got inside and chose to sit indoors near the bar. My father likes to see people and I felt this would be a good spot to do this and it was. The restaurant was mid century modern in design, airy and uncluttered...we were seated in a booth - chair combo that was a rendition of that style. We looked at the drink menu and my father went for a glass of Pinot Noir, his friend went for a lemon drop martini and I went for a Heineken 00. The waitress couldn't be nicer and quickly brought us our drinks. The lemon drop was perfect and served in an ice cold steel martini glass while my father was quite happy with his California Pinot. We reviewed the food menu and decided to share two "tables"...the deviled eggs and the pimento cheese dip with home made pork rinds. Within a few minutes, four deviled eggs arrived dressed up with a slice of jalapeño and sprinkled with bacon bits. A large plate of fresh pork rinds with homemade pimento cheese came out simultaneously. The deviled eggs were excellent with just the right texture and not too moist...the bacon bits added another layer of flavor and the jalapeño gave it a nice kick, however, the pork rinds and pimento cheese stole the show. The rinds were light and fluffy with just the right amount of crunch and the pimento cheese was superb...very flavorful with nice chunks of pimento and grated cheese. My father was diving in on the cheese so fast it was tough to get some. His lady friend also commented on how good it was. Next came the mains. My father settled in the American Waygu Burger with hand cut fries, I went for the lamb rack with string beans and roasted fingerling potatoes and the lady went for the Arugula salad with candied pecans, Granny Smith apples , goat cheese and craisins. My lamb was excellent...medium rare with a nice flavorful crust with a hint of garlic and herbs. The potatoes were well roasted and tasty while the string beans were cooked correctly but a tad bland. The arugula salad was delicious with a nice citrus dressing that played well with the candied pecans and craisins...the smith apples was a nice contrast. My father in the other hand, ate way too much pimento cheese and rinds and as a result just picked in his fries, which were excellent...salted well, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. He ended up taking the burger home. Amazingly, when dessert was brought up he was all in. Although known for their "Butter Cake" we decided to share(and by share I mean my father had about 90% of it) the Triple Layer Chocolate Cake. Turns out it's as good as it sounds...intense chocolate flavor in a very moist cake with vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream on the side...top notch. Sadly, it was getting late and my father had an early plane to catch so we got the bill(more reasonable than I expected), tipped the excellent waitress and said our good nights. We made plans to come back in September...although I'll be back well before that...Bar 19 Twelve will be going on my rotation.

The parking lot is usually full, which always felt like a good sign. Well... after years of saying "maybe next time," we finally stopped in -- and we're glad we did. We were in town for a few days doing some work at our place and decided to try something new for dinner. I checked Yelp beforehand to see if they had a happy hour menu, and they did -- and it looked good. We arrived around 5:00 pm. There were only a few cars in the lot at that time, and the building (which used to be a Pizza Hut) is easy to spot. When we walked in, we were told to sit wherever we liked, so we headed straight to the bar. The bartender greeted us right away, gave us menus and waters, and made us feel welcome. Since it was our first visit, we had a lot of questions about the menu. The food seemed like a fusion of Asian and Korean flavors, and we weren't very familiar with it. She was fantastic patient, knowledgeable, and very helpful. She even mentioned their Date Night special, which turned out to be a great deal. She made my wife an iced tea that was different than the usual but very good, and I had an Old Fashioned that was excellent. We decided on the Date Night Special, which is a prix fixe menu for two for $45. It includes one starter to share, a selection of small plates, each person choosing their own main from a list of six (two with a small upcharge), and a dessert to share. For our starter, we chose the Scallion Pancakes. They aren't really pancakes in the traditional sense -- more like a thinner batter that's deep-fried and served with two sauces. Both sauces were excellent, and the appetizer was a great way to start the meal. For our mains, my wife ordered the Bibimbap with chicken, and I had the Korean Fried Chicken (+$3). When they set the plates down in front of us, I looked at my wife and said, this looks really good -- why haven't we stopped here before? Her dish came in a shallow bowl with cucumbers in a sauce, thinly shaved carrots, kimchi, rice topped with an egg, and a piece of fried chicken with sauce. Mine came with coleslaw, fresh-cut French fries, and two chicken breasts covered in the same flavorful sauce. The chicken on both dishes was the same, and that sauce was outstanding. My first bite was literally, "Why have we passed this place so many times?" My wife loved everything on her plate, and I enjoyed every bite of mine as well. Our dessert, the Apple Crumble, came out before we were completely finished with our meals. This was really the only thing that could have been handled a little differently. Even though we didn't eat it right away, it was still good we just felt a bit rushed trying to finish our food so the dessert wouldn't get cold and the ice cream wouldn't melt. Overall, we found a new top-5 restaurant to eat at when we're in town. To top it all off, while sitting at the bar we were talking with a waiter named Logan. He asked where we were from and mentioned he had family there. It turned out he's a cousin of a friend who grew up with our son and was actually in our son's wedding. Just a few weeks earlier, they were all in Myrtle Beach for a bachelor party for his cousin. Small world! Don't be like us driving past for years and saying "maybe next time." Just stop in and give it a try. The food is wonderful, the service was great, and we will definitely be back.

I hold give this a 3.5 if I could. I reserve 5 stars for excellence. I feel like a 3 is too low,…read morebut a 4 is too high. We have been here many times. It has almost always been a good experience. However, I was disappointed this time because we have ALWAYS been told (in or off season) that they do not take reservations. We even checked their website again before coming this time and it says on their website that they DO NOT take reservations. Upon arriving to the restaurant we were told that we would have to wait longer because we did not have a reservation. We were told that even though they say they do not take reservations, they do now because it is the off season. I guess we were supposed to read their minds and know that their policy changes at an unadvertised date. Poor customer service if you ask me. The food was good as usual (we love their fish spread). Our waitress was kind and helpful, even making sure that we got the best price possible on our food by choosing an item off the happy hour menu for us. The dining area was adequately clean. The bathrooms are adequate as well. I will say that the most trouble we have had is with the host staff. This is not our first time having issues with them being unfriendly or not paying attention to customers. For these reasons I feel like a 4 star review would be too generous.
