Nice little Bistro in Downtown Conway. We ate on the upstairs patio---lots of plants and great breezes. Got the Monte Cristo---not deep fried like we expected, the bread was more like French Toast. Very disappointing experience at Rivertown Bistro in Conway. Two people in our group ordered the filet mignon, and what came out was shockingly thin and overcooked. After taking a closer look, it didn't even seem like filet at all--more like a marinated NY strip being passed off as something else. Another person ordered the chicken parmesan with shrimp scampi, and that was just as bad. The shrimp had no flavor and came without any scampi sauce, and the pasta was completely plain and tasteless. Overall, the food quality was far below expectations, especially for the prices. We left extremely disappointed and will not be returning. read more

Great place that could be better with attention to detail. Food crumbs on the menu and stains on the cloth wrapping the bread. Other than that the food was great. Server was attentive. Oil with the bread I could take a gallon of. Portion was great. Sushi was amazing. If you order the crab cakes bring your appetite. Great place!! We sat in the bar, thanks to the sweet hostess who helped us snag a table on a Friday night. We ordered oysters Rockefeller and the egg rolls to start. Egg rolls were 9/10. I asked for ranch dressing and it elevated to 10/10. They should serve them with ranch!!! The oysters were raw under the spinach toppings. Not to my hubs liking. We are used to the oysters being steamed/roasted under the toppings. We bo h got salads for our meal. Yum!! My Caesar with blackened shrimp was amazing! Nice atmosphere but that's it. To start our waitress lacked the customer service skills required when dealing with the public. I ordered a house salad and when I asked what types of dressing they offered she responded " we have a lot, what do you want?" That was obviously not the right answer. The 4 oz Filet I ordered was as thin as paper and very small. I mentioned this to our waitress and questioned if it truly was a filet and she advised it was cut from an 8 oz filet and then butterflied. It was NOT and how dare they try to pass it off as such. The hostess was very snarky. She wouldn't seat us where we requested. Told us that the area we requested was reserved. We were there for over an hour and not one person was seated in the so called reserved seats. The food was mediocre, I was surprised since we had heard good things about the food. Extremely rude! My friend and I went in for a cocktail given it's great reviews. Since we're from out of state and visiting family without of state identification we were told "he was uncomfortable to serve us" and forced to leave. Me and my girl friends went here yesterday and sat in the bar, there was a roach crawling and the bartender tried to kill it and after acted like nothing happened. The young lady tried to bring us bread, which we usually don't get bread service in the bar. I'm guessing it was to butter us up, but instead we got up and left quick. read more

Stopped in for a business lunch for a group of three. Parking downtown was abysmal but we finally found a spot open and walked back to the restaurant. We were seated immediately upstairs. Very nice interior. Sort of uptown classy and some Boho mixed in. Service was good and friendly and knowledgeable. We tried the Spring rolls as that is what they are known for. They were interesting and tasty. Best in world is a bit of a stretch but good. I had the cod taco which were good. The cod was delicious and the gyro sauce was delectable. The plain lettuce though was a distraction and kept the taco from being too notch. The sweet potato chips were ok and the pasta salad was delicious. I would love the recipe for. Good meal. I love the sushi roll. I can't think of the name, but I think it's the only thing sushi they offer.

The food was delicious and the service was attentive. The atmosphere was also pleasant.

The Braised beef cheek pimento cheese a collard green chow chow on a hoagie roll. Served with yam chips was sublime. I expected the beef to be the upfront flavor but I was surprised at the mixture of flavors from the pimento cheese and collard greens. The service was excellent and the staff were very attentive. One block down and a little unassuming, this bistro was a great place for our lunch. Menu had lots of options for lunch and dinner. Amazing amothsphere and a large upstairs, but we didn't get up there. We had an appetizer and split a sandwich. Both were amazing, made from scratch, satisfied the pallet and the visual of what I expected. Also great selection of drinks and champagne by the glass. Service was efficient and attentive. Nice size restaurant. We came here for brunch on a Saturday at noonish. Got seated right away. Waitress was nice. Then it went downhill. The menu had interesting choices, but it didn't meet the expectations. We asked for medium well burgers and they came out med/rare. Fries were good. Steak and eggs were okay. I have been coming here for many years and I have never reviewed this place . I am sorry I haven't done so before but if you find yourself in Conway and want to eat some amazing food come here. Darrin Smith has been running and cooking here for 30 years and it is incredible. He always keeps his menu up to date with new creations! As part of our visit to view Halloween City, we made a reservation at RB. We were seated promptly at our scheduled time. Ordered a Manhattan and what was served was extremely sweet, unlike a Manhattan. Of the four dinners all were acceptable except one; the pork chop. Great flavor but extremely tough and fatty. Never experienced a pork chop so tough. Had a new waitress who needed much more training. Just checked my credit card receipt and it appears she added $3.00 to my check. We are locals and restaurant just landed on my "no go" list. I can tolerate a bad drink or a bad meal, I won't tolerate fraud. read more

If you find yourself in downtown Conway do yourself a favor and stop in to this beautiful bistro and ask for Lee. She is the best server and super knowledgeable and friendly. I stopped for a drink and the espresso martinis are a hit I asked them to add a shot of Baileys and that put it over the top. I got a little hungry so I ordered the cinnamon roll. This was not the typical cinnamon roll this was a flaky buttery sweet creation that knocked my socks off. Over never had a cinnamon roll that was layered with so much flavor. This place has been in business for 30 YEARS, so they definitely must be doing something right... The fried egg rolls (appetizers) are crunchy and delicious. I had the Parmesan Encrusted Grouper with risotto (great choice btw); Beer was served REALLY cold in an extra frozen glass and our waitress (Alyssa) was politeness incarnate: she was upbeat and professional! The pasta with scallops tasted great but it's seasonal so I don't know if it will be available when you visit. The ONLY reason I didn't give it a five * was because they only have ONE stall at the men's restroom; no urinals, just a single stall. I actually had to wait for a customer to finish before I could use it (funny enough, there are two stools inside the bathroom for men to wait sitting... ) Plates aren't small as in French cuisine, but not as big as Italian or Cuban dishes. It was the size of my appetite. Enjoyed my time there. Not a bad idea to call for reservations, especially if you're a bigger party (we were 3 adults ). Set up a good night for a Wizard of Oz play arrived at 6 o'clock. Me and my girlfriend ordered three appetizers. I've been waiting 30 minutes the waiter let us know. He forgot to put the order in. What a nice patio in the cute little town of Conway. And speaking of cheesy grits, I don't think we've ever had so much cheesy grits in our shrimp and grits in my entire life. It was pretty good though. Other great things- that blackened tomato bisque was wonderful and the biscuit sando was decent but messy. We are on vacation in Myrtle Beach. We found this restaurant about 25 minutes away from our condo. What a cute little town Conway is. Our server Bethanne was GREAT!! So sweet and very attentive. Two of us got a cup of French onion soup, it was really good. My friend got the sushi, another got the salmon, both enjoyed their dinners. I got the beet and goat cheese salad. It was great!
