Started out Wierd, reservation was at five we got there 10 minutes before 5 and the hostess said they don't start seating until 5.??? I started with an old fashion cocktail which was very bitter but drinkable. My entree was lobster penne in a vodka sauce. It was a pseudo vodka sauce. We went today for a lovely lunch. Are Server Shelby was such a sweetheart. So helpful explaining the special's & explaining everything to us. The Mrs had a wonderful Roast beef sandwich on a croissant & I the grouper taco which was served with a wonderful macaroni salad, pickled okra & sweet potato chips. Really outstanding. A beautiful restaurant in downtown Conway. My only complaint was they didn't serve dinner. After seeing all the photos on this app everything was so good looking. Food was good like 2 years ago and disappointing, tofay, especially for the price. I ordered pecan crusted grouper. It was very greasy and the skin was still on the bottom as it was on my Husband's grilled salmon as well. When my plate was placed in front of me, between the odor and the presentation, it was nauseating. The fish was swimming in a strange sauce to me. Asparagus was included on the menu. I had 3 small hard stalks about 1 inch each afloat as well. We ate a few bites and paid the big bill. The waitress was great. We didn't say anything and she didn't ask how it was. What happened to this place? Went there for my wife's birthday. Had 7pm reservations got there at 6:45 and they seated us immediately. Within 15 minutes had our drinks ordered and delivered and we ordered our dinner. Within 5 minutes salads were served. Down hill from there. 45 minutes later the waitress comes back with a at basket of sweet potato chips and apologizes for the wait. Knowing we were upset, 20 minutes later now, close to 1 1/2 hours still not having dinner was ordered, we were getting ready to walk out the manager finally brings us our food, she apologized again and wants to comp us desert. We were no longer even interested in dinner. Based on what we ordered ,mussels and fish cannot be reheated. As we were walking out the manager said you owe us for your drinks. The hostess held up 40.00 we gave her for the drinks as we did not want the waitress who did her best under the circumstances to get charged for anything read more

I want to try EVERYTHING on this menu!! So many foodie options. Started with sweet tea and these crazy low country egg rolls. I should have just got those. Chicken, tasso ham, spinach, cheddar, Jack cheese, and a super creamy tasty honey Dijon. My meal was the fried goat cheese salad, a million toppings that all worked so well together. It was a ten. Found this restaurant on Yelp and so glad we went there for lunch! Service was so friendly, from the hostesses to the server. We sat upstairs on the patio and it was clean, pretty and charming! Had the meatloaf wrap lunch special and it was so delicious! Also had the scallop salad (super yummy) and the burger (cooked perfectly with a delicious char-broiled flavor). We also loved that the fried were seasoned! Definitely recommend and will definitely be back. Nice job! read more

Wowow. What an incredible experience. I was fortunate to graduate from Coastal Carolina in 2011 and seeing downtown Conway become this thriving downtown is incredible. It's truly a southern hallmark experience. The atmosphere, staff and service is out of this world. Friendly and accommodating as well as attentive. My wife enjoyed prosciutto wrapped scallops which left her licking her plate clean. I had the Butternut Squash Ravioli that was out of this world with crispy, fatty and decedent pork belly. This has got to be one of my favorite lunch spots. They have a special quesadillas each day. This time I had the shrimp and black bean with small bites of mango. It was amazing and came with a siracha dip that was a smoky chipotle flavor, to die for. It is served with macaroni salad and crispy sweet potato chips. The macaroni salad is ditalini pasta and has a nice sweet taste. The chips were sweet and crispy. For dessert we shared the cinnamon bun and I was literally humming at the sweet buttery cinnamony flavor swirled inside a delicious flaky pastry. The service is ok and the ambience is classy. It is always cold inside so be sure to bring a sweater. So yummy! I can't wait to go back. read more

We have heard such great things about Rivertown Bistro and couldn't wait to give it a try. Upon entering we were greeted by the hostess who sat us immediately. Social distancing measures were in place so that was a positive. They carry a variety of foods and al of it sounded amazing. We ordered sushi for the kids, my husband ordered duck and I had the bang bang shrimp with California roll. It was all so delicious. Service was slow but the food made up for it. We are in the minority with regard to Rivertown Bistro. An A for effort and thought, but a D for execution. A horrendously terrible experience. Love the location and love the menu even more. Service was good and maybe even a bit better than good. Kitchen execution and delivery was truly poor. Lamb Poterhouse was cooked terribly and bordered on "just too old". Returned it with apologies and found out that they has no more! I wished they just didn't serve the last one. My son had the Bone-In Ribeye and almost the same result. Cooked terribly, way too old, and no where near a Choice cut of meat. Eggplant stack way over cooked also (and please just take the skin off of the eggplant) Tuna Takaki really bland Special swordfish not so special A restaurant MUST manage their purveyors - 4 dishes (2 meat and 2 fish) and all were lower end quality and then poorly executed. $200+ later and a really bad evening. read more

We went on a Thursday night and the dining room(s) were packed so we opted for a table in the bar area. Actually worked out well because it was a lot quieter. Food was very good and the bartender making the Black Cherry Mojitos was spot on, even though she was literally running while providing great service to not only the customers seated at the bar itself but those of us at the tables. We had 2 entrees, split a nice sized salad, had 2 Mojitos and a beer followed by 2 desserts (yummy) and WITH the tip, our bill was only $94.00. Very good quality for the price!!! Rivertown Bistro in Conway SC is a cool place on the waccamaw river in downtown area. It's got a cool interior and awesome views of the river from the large rear outdoor patio. The riverwalk is right there so you can take a nice walk as well. All the meats etc are smoked in house. Their briscut, wings, chicken, and alligator all are really good. They also have their own take on pizza with a twist. Full bar and nice staff as well. read more
