The stars is a result of my first impression and encounter with the wonderful-not host Peggy J. Not sure if she ever learned proper etiquette when greeting customers patronizing a local non-commercial business. I will say our server Ally saved the day with her gracious attitude and attentiveness to our table as our waitress. Her humbleness and professional etiquette was above and beyond for what she walked into after Peggy J acted so dismissive of me when asking a simple question related to my table seating and the reservation. If that's how she greets patrons you may want to revisit her being the first person a newbie to your establishment meets. One bad review or feedback about your business can result in a lot of lost business. Thanks for the experience I was not so excited about visiting from out of town. :-( read more

Poor service and poor food my dinner was straight out of the refrigerator and it was supposed to be hot. 2 hours of a visit and it was not busy at all. More staff and vacant tables than what were occupied. read more

Well the Blue Plate Special was the fried pork chop. I asked the waitress if it was good and awesome came the reply as I waited in anticipation. What arrived was a barely recognizable, encrusted, well done "pork chop " about the size of your palm including the bone and less than 1/2 inch thick. Needless to say, it was very tough and not very good. I'm all fairness however, the accompanying grits and stewed tomatoes were very good. Still hungry, I made my way south to Peppers Cheese Steak which was much more satisfying and less expensive than Rivertown which was a disappointment.. read more

Great atmosphere. Good pour on the drinks. Really nice wait staff. Nice menu with some unique choices. I've been here for special occasions four times in the last two years. Was always excellent and price matches food quality and uniqueness. This last time after eating the onion soup, our pasta dishes arrived and sadly quite underwhelming. After a few bites it was packed up and brought home to eat the following day for lunch. No improvement the next day. All three plates were completely bland. I haven't been here since I graduated from CCU 4 years ago. I decided to bring my girlfriend last weekend because the food here is usually really good. We started off splitting the beet and goat cheese salad as an app and we both loved it. The way they fry the goat cheese makes their salad stand out from the other beet and goat cheese salads we've had before. Our mains were a little underwhelming though, the shrimp dashi my girlfriend ordered lacked flavor and wasn't a very exciting dish. I ordered the ribeye which had potential but the execution wasn't the best. The steak was extremely rare even though I ordered it medium rare which isn't really a big deal to me, it was the super cold and old onion rings that they throw on top of it that ruined the dish for me. The blue cheese compound butter they put on the steak is amazing. The potatoes that they serve with the ribeye are good but nothing to write home about. Now, for the dessert we got the creme brûlée which was one of the best creme brûlée's I've ever had. The sugar on top was perfectly browned and the creme itself was so light and fluffy and had such a good taste. We both really enjoyed sitting in the second floor and looking into the kitchen, the restaurant itself is gorgeous and the service is very good. The food was AMAZING! A little lacking in the drink specials but the food made up for that times 10! I had the Maple Farm Duck Breast and my husband had the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin. All I can say is WOW! I have not been this Impressed with the flavor palettes in a dish in a long time. We ended dinner with creme brûlée and the sea salted caramel ice cream sandwich. Disappointed. Yes it's the holidays and everyone is busy. Both dishes of food were lukewarm. We never got bread till after our meal came. The young boy said, at least its here now. Did not have a reservation...only took 5 minutes to be seated. Waitress took our order and did not see her again till the food was brought. My wife and I have heard about this place for months and tonight decided to give it a try. Why did we wait so long??? We arrived a found a welcoming staff and nearly empty eatery. We got a table on the upper balcony as we wanted to eat outside and had a nice view of the area. Conway, SC is a cute and quaint town. The waitress, Caroline was quickly at our table and very polite. Now because we had been out and about for several hours and had an appetizer and cocktails earlier we went straight for the main meals on the menu. (Yes we had more cocktails but that's not the point of this review) My wife ordered the pork entree, I the surf and turf. I can honestly say that these were two of the best meals we have ever had. Literally in the top five in the past 32 years. Caroline started by bringing us a bowl of fresh baked and hot bread with a saucer of olive oil infused with several spices. Damn it was good. The bread alone was awesome, add in the dipping oil, really pleasing. My wife's meal consisted of 3 slices of pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon, seasoned and grilled the drizzled with a Carolina style mustard bbq sauce. Plus sautéed succotash and potato that appeared to have been shredded, the combined with creamy cheeses, rolled into a thick patty and deep fried. Man was it tasty, yes I sampled all of it. My meal consisted of seasoned grilled shrimp, sausage slices, a pork medallion, very similar to my wife's, and a twice baked potato half. The meals were perfectly seasoned, hot, and plentiful. The pork almost melted in your mouth, and the shrimp perfectly grilled. The entire event was pleasing and worth a return to this location. I am sure I missed some nuances writing this, but I'm not a professional critic or blogger. What I am is a person who loves good food and this place is not at the top of my list for a return visit. Went in on 10.6 waiter was great and drinks were awesome the breast cancer charity drinks! The bacon wrapped pork tenderloin was the best I've had and my husband loved the beef filet. Steak and mushroom soup was phenomenal. The egg rolls were to die for. Love this place. read more

Went here NYE and it was excellent. I had the tuna and it was so good I almost licked the plate. My husband had the seafood au gratin and he gave it a 9 out 10. Great atmosphere and I am excited to go back and try everything on the menu. read more

I will start by saying this has always been my favorite place in Conway. Last week i traveled back with a late flight, often I will pick up dinner on the way home. I always order the Crusted Grouper And French Onion Soup. This night Bistro was totally off and not on the A game. When I got home I opened the bag and I had three container. Two of the containers had something but it sure wasn't Grouper, if anyone knows fish I do. My family operated a Seafood business for a number of year. The third container was the French Onion Soup. I called the restaurant and spoke to the hostess she said she would have the manager call me back. The manager did not call, so on the way home Saturday I planned to eat at Bistro. I walked in and asked to speak to the Manager. The manager approached me and I introduced myself and told her my complaint, she said I was wrong because she actually plated my meal. Yes, she might have plated the Grouper, but I received the wrong meal. I asked her did she remember how many containers that where in my order, she immediately said two. When I told her there was three she claimed I was trying to confuse her, and that would not work I was wrong. She got up and walked away, I did not stay and eat. All I expected was an apology for my bad experience and remake my order of Grouper. I did reach out to the owner he said he would call me back after speaking to his manage, he hasn't called me back. It's bad management when you can't even tell your customer, "I'm sorry you had a bad experience what can I do to make things right." You lost a customer. The spring roll appetizers were fantastic and that's where the excitement stopped. The sushi is priced the same as large hot speciality rolls you would get a a sushi restaurant and yet was literally the equivalent of grocery store sushi. To be honest they need to remove sushi from the menu. It was embarrassing. My son and I didn't even touch a second piece of one roll. We threw it away and we were hungry. My other kid and wife got the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin and it was super dry and over cooked but the flavor was ok. All and all it's mediocre food at fine dining prices. There are way better options if you wanna spend that much money. Also it took 40 mins to get the food on a Tuesday night and over half empty restaurant. read more

Also got the crab dip which was NOT GOOD tried to send it back and manager or boss came to us explaining it's expensive and fresh crab meat and people eat it all the time and like it. WELL we didn't!!! after server told us it was completely taken off manager says she can only take off 50%. we only took one spoonful!!! server was amazing, manager very rude and condescending. Not your momma's salad! We had the Oriental and Apple salads...so unique and mouth-watering! The Apple salad had baked apple on greens with radish, onion, Napa cabbage, goat cheese, kale, candied pecans and dried apple circles. What a great taste combo! The Oriental salad had shrimp, crab slices and raw tuna on mixed greens with a soy vinaigrette dressing. Both tastefully presented! Prices were reasonable and staff friendly and efficient. I have been here three times since visiting in Conway in July of 2021 and moving here in September of the same year. Once for dinner, once for bar/drinks and once for appetizers and drinks. With the exception of coming for dinner in December, I really enjoy this place. They have a chevre salad that is out of this world. Their homemade onion soup is also killer as well as the caesar salad. Some great wines. The bar area is so fun on a Saturday night but don't let them sit you upstairs. At least not in the winter. It's dreary, they forget about you and I love a crowded, loud restaurant with lots of action, and upstairs is plain boring. read more

Stopped in for lunch based on the reviews. It more than lived up to my expectations! I first ordered the French onion soup and it was fabulous. For my main I ordered the lobster roll. It came with fries and a chopped salad. Everything was delicious! My partner ordered the clam chowder and the the burger which also came with fries. Not disappointed at all. Tasted great. Server was Cassidy and she did an outstanding job. So sorry we're clear in north Myrtle Beach (came here for an eye appointment) or we'd be back again! read more
