My mom and I were looking for a place to grave a drink on Christmas and to our surprise, Reel was open! It is not in the best part of Myrtle beach and is located in a Hampton inn but to our surprise, was a cute spot! We were uncertain where to park or get into the restaurant, entering from the garage. We finally made it in after wondering through the lobby. We loved the bartender, very personable and he crafted the best drinks-- a very balanced and strong espresso martini !! It was too cold to sit outside but the views were very pretty! If you're in the area, it's def worth stopping in!

Cheers.

Reel is located inside the Hampton Inn and Suites in Myrtle Beach and while I'm not usually fond of hotel restaurants, this one was quite good. It's well decorated and it was quiet when we came but it is December so it's definitely not tourist season. Our bartender was a fantastic guy and made a mean drink and fun conversation. Although we came for a few drinks, we ended up getting some dinner as well. The food isn't anything fancy but is was surprisingly tasty. I had the Heat Burger and wow was it flavorful. My only problem was the bun. It was stale and fell apart while I was eating the burger. Still good though. We also had the Margarita Flatbread which was also flavorful. Loved the texture and the fresh ingredients. Definitely worth checking this place out even if you're not staying at the Hampton.

I saw some nice pictures of the interior and decided to stop by for lunch. Nestled in the Hampton Inn with off street parking I was greeted by David, a bartender who was kind and smiling. The restaurant is adorable and the food and drink was SPOT ON. I had their spicy margarita which mentioned it paired well with the heat burger. They marinate their own spicy tequila and it tasted so fresh and refreshing. The burger (medium) came cooked exactly as I ordered and the meat was a great blend. The burger lacked some spice so I tossed the extra jalapeños from the Marg on top. Chefs kiss for a lunch at a great price. 100% will be back. It was undergoing some renovations on the exterior so the view is temporarily covered. I can imagine when you can see the ocean it's really one of the best spots for value. Thanks for a good meal and nice conversation. I got a photo of the drink but the burger stood NO chance once it placed in front of me. Came with fries nicely salted and the bill was around $30. Definitely check it out.

Searched taco places on Yelp and Reel was an option so 3 ladies walked 11 mins to try these tacos. We asked to be seated outside. To our surprise there were quite a few options that looked good outside of tacos. I decided to go with the blackened chicken tacos(9/10). The pina colada was refreshing (10/10).

Feathers

restaurant that serves buffalo wings with this large amount of Nasty chicken feathers on purpose adds concerns regarding the food safety ,cleanliness, cross contamination when dealing with poultry and the all around standards for customer safety from food born illness Clearly they don't clean the chicken. It looks like long string on meat.Unmissable even sauced.the person who prepared this is disgusting and should not prepare meals at the zoo. I'll report this to the heath dept. and never return. Eat here at your own risk. When I brought it to my waiters attention it didn't seem too important. Then the Female manager actually suggested I pay for the feathers. To not upset myself an other I chased her down as she was talking to the waiter and said I'll pay for the meal I didn't eat and even tip Too. To the female manager since your untrained or unwilling if you're ever In that situation AGAIN you assure your paying customer( the reason you have a job ) that this was unecceptable and you will address the kitchen staff and offer to replace the meal at the least. Some sort of resolution would have prevented this. NONE OF THAT HAPPENED

The food might be great, but we didn't go in. The area looked sketchy so we found a different restaurant.

Unfortunately, this dinner just added to our frustration. We had a 6:15 reservation and waited quite a while before a server arrived. When she did, she was very kind and took our drink and appetizer orders. But everything moved so slowly -- drinks and app took ages, and we placed our dinner order not long after. By 7:30, we still had no food. The server kept apologizing (she really was kind and doing her best), but it was clear something was off in the kitchen or with management. Eventually someone else came over, offered 20% off, and said our meals were "plating now" -- but that wasn't true, because we waited another 20 minutes. We were ready to cancel, and when the food finally came, I honestly couldn't enjoy it at that point. My chicken sandwich was nothing special (definitely not worth the wait), and my mom's scallops were salty and just bad. While our server was lovely, the overall experience with management and the kitchen was disappointing. Won't be back.

The chair that I was going to sit in looked wet but it turned out to be sticky too. When I asked the waitress to help clean it up she switched it out and said something about breakfast syrup. When we went to look at the special drink sign a bug crawled out of it and onto the table. The waitress didn't do anything about that. We ordered and waited for our food. The blueberry gin and tonic was good. We ordered bbq chicken tacos, mahi tacos, grilled mahi mahi and a scallop salad. The food was okay. Our server seemed like she didn't really want to be there. I feel like the prices were reasonable but I wouldn't go again.

They were gone in about two minutes between the 3 of us, not because of the quantity, but because they were so good. They were not overly spicy in case that's a worry. They have a full gluten free menu. The kids menu also includes seafood which I appreciate for my seafood loving crew. I ordered the Fry Basket with Shrimp and Oysters. My mom ordered the same but also had flounder with it. My son ordered a Caesar salad with a side of fried flounder. Everyone was very impressed with the amount and quality of the food. I honestly didn't take great pictures because we were too busy eating! It was a very busy day the day we were there bc of the Kentucky derby party but we were still seated quickly and our food came out fairly quickly. They take a lot of precautions when dealing with allergies and it was appreciated. They even identify that it is gluten free when they deliver the food as well. I can't wait to return and try the short rib macaroni and cheese. The ambiance is booths and tables around a bar. They also have a great outdoor space due kids to run around and play.

The outside is great for families or for a date night. They have a section where they have an outside bar so you can be by the water. They also have a small stage that I'm sure they have music outside. So we started off with drinks and some appetizers. We had the calamari, street corn dip and the margarita. We had the steak with a side order of shrimp, had the Big chill burger with an extra side the Hawaiian pasta salad and the Big Chill Island salad with chicken. Service was good. The apps were tasty and if you like spicy hot it was good. The steak and shrimp was good and flavorful, the burger was good but not the pasta salad. It was not good, that even my daughter didn't like it. As for my Big Chill Island salad was also a disappointment. Not sure what it was but the flavors just didn't go well together. I always like to give places a second try so we might come back and I will try another dish.

Almost everyone in the group went to the bar to wait and was told someone would come for them when the table was ready. I stopped in another store on the way in to the restaurant, so I was a few minutes behind. When I came in, I told the hostess that I'm meeting the rest of my party who is potentially already seated, if she could direct me to where. I gave her the name it was under, and she said they weren't checked in yet. I thought it was strange, but it was almost 6:45 and thought we should still be fine. I texted them to let them know what I was told-they DID check in, so I told the hostess I would wait until the table was ready with her so I could let the rest of my party know. I waited until 7:00 and asked her if we were still waiting for a table or if they were waiting for the rest of my party to come out front and she said she would go check. She came back and said that there still wasn't a table ready and we'd have to wait about 15 more minutes. I joined the rest of my group and went back up front since no one came to get us and asked again. We are now approaching an hour past our reservation and she had seated several other big groups one of which specifically told me they did not have a reservation. I got a little frustrated and let it be known and we were finally seated right about 7:45. If it wasn't for the fact that we had two small children with us that were losing their mind, I would've been fine, even if I was annoyed. When we were finally seated, we were fortunately greeted with a wonderful server, Abby A. I was not overly thrilled with the choices of food on the menu, but we had 6 adults and everyone found something and they were all famished, so I couldn't get many pictures. We ordered the street corn dip (delicious), crab hushpuppies (probably would have been really good had they not been so overcooked/on the verge of burnt) and island fries (I didn't try because 2 of the adults were tearing from the peppers) As for entrees, I settled for the steak skewers, which were well cooked, and tasted OK. I opted to get asparagus instead of the broccolini, but it was WAY overcooked, flavorless, and soggy. I wish I thought to ask for some other than fries because the 2 I tried weren't worth eating. Others ordered chicken peanut mango salad (good), Hawaiian Kalua pork (enjoyed), Capera Island salmon (done well), low country pasta added shrimp (shrimp was cooked nicely), and hamburger kids meal...thinner that McDonald's! She didn't even want to eat the burger "slice". The food was decent, but not nearly good enough for me to ever go back after waiting over an hour our time for a reservation that was made over a week ago without any apologies or even checking in on us. If I hadn't kept checking back, I don't think we would've been seated for a while. I could've spent about $400 somewhere else and had better food and treated with more respect while waiting for our LATE reservation.

The parking lot is usually full, which always felt like a good sign. Well... after years of saying "maybe next time," we finally stopped in -- and we're glad we did. We were in town for a few days doing some work at our place and decided to try something new for dinner. I checked Yelp beforehand to see if they had a happy hour menu, and they did -- and it looked good. We arrived around 5:00 pm. There were only a few cars in the lot at that time, and the building (which used to be a Pizza Hut) is easy to spot. When we walked in, we were told to sit wherever we liked, so we headed straight to the bar. The bartender greeted us right away, gave us menus and waters, and made us feel welcome. Since it was our first visit, we had a lot of questions about the menu. The food seemed like a fusion of Asian and Korean flavors, and we weren't very familiar with it. She was fantastic patient, knowledgeable, and very helpful. She even mentioned their Date Night special, which turned out to be a great deal. She made my wife an iced tea that was different than the usual but very good, and I had an Old Fashioned that was excellent. We decided on the Date Night Special, which is a prix fixe menu for two for $45. It includes one starter to share, a selection of small plates, each person choosing their own main from a list of six (two with a small upcharge), and a dessert to share. For our starter, we chose the Scallion Pancakes. They aren't really pancakes in the traditional sense -- more like a thinner batter that's deep-fried and served with two sauces. Both sauces were excellent, and the appetizer was a great way to start the meal. For our mains, my wife ordered the Bibimbap with chicken, and I had the Korean Fried Chicken (+$3). When they set the plates down in front of us, I looked at my wife and said, this looks really good -- why haven't we stopped here before? Her dish came in a shallow bowl with cucumbers in a sauce, thinly shaved carrots, kimchi, rice topped with an egg, and a piece of fried chicken with sauce. Mine came with coleslaw, fresh-cut French fries, and two chicken breasts covered in the same flavorful sauce. The chicken on both dishes was the same, and that sauce was outstanding. My first bite was literally, "Why have we passed this place so many times?" My wife loved everything on her plate, and I enjoyed every bite of mine as well. Our dessert, the Apple Crumble, came out before we were completely finished with our meals. This was really the only thing that could have been handled a little differently. Even though we didn't eat it right away, it was still good we just felt a bit rushed trying to finish our food so the dessert wouldn't get cold and the ice cream wouldn't melt. Overall, we found a new top-5 restaurant to eat at when we're in town. To top it all off, while sitting at the bar we were talking with a waiter named Logan. He asked where we were from and mentioned he had family there. It turned out he's a cousin of a friend who grew up with our son and was actually in our son's wedding. Just a few weeks earlier, they were all in Myrtle Beach for a bachelor party for his cousin. Small world! Don't be like us driving past for years and saying "maybe next time." Just stop in and give it a try. The food is wonderful, the service was great, and we will definitely be back.

Since it was my father's last night in North Myrtle Beach until September I thought it would be a great place to have our last dinner together for a while. I dialed up my app and made a 7PM reservation for three. We pulled in about 6:50 and found a spot right in front of the restaurant...it was going to be a good night. We got inside and chose to sit indoors near the bar. My father likes to see people and I felt this would be a good spot to do this and it was. The restaurant was mid century modern in design, airy and uncluttered...we were seated in a booth - chair combo that was a rendition of that style. We looked at the drink menu and my father went for a glass of Pinot Noir, his friend went for a lemon drop martini and I went for a Heineken 00. The waitress couldn't be nicer and quickly brought us our drinks. The lemon drop was perfect and served in an ice cold steel martini glass while my father was quite happy with his California Pinot. We reviewed the food menu and decided to share two "tables"...the deviled eggs and the pimento cheese dip with home made pork rinds. Within a few minutes, four deviled eggs arrived dressed up with a slice of jalapeño and sprinkled with bacon bits. A large plate of fresh pork rinds with homemade pimento cheese came out simultaneously. The deviled eggs were excellent with just the right texture and not too moist...the bacon bits added another layer of flavor and the jalapeño gave it a nice kick, however, the pork rinds and pimento cheese stole the show. The rinds were light and fluffy with just the right amount of crunch and the pimento cheese was superb...very flavorful with nice chunks of pimento and grated cheese. My father was diving in on the cheese so fast it was tough to get some. His lady friend also commented on how good it was. Next came the mains. My father settled in the American Waygu Burger with hand cut fries, I went for the lamb rack with string beans and roasted fingerling potatoes and the lady went for the Arugula salad with candied pecans, Granny Smith apples , goat cheese and craisins. My lamb was excellent...medium rare with a nice flavorful crust with a hint of garlic and herbs. The potatoes were well roasted and tasty while the string beans were cooked correctly but a tad bland. The arugula salad was delicious with a nice citrus dressing that played well with the candied pecans and craisins...the smith apples was a nice contrast. My father in the other hand, ate way too much pimento cheese and rinds and as a result just picked in his fries, which were excellent...salted well, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. He ended up taking the burger home. Amazingly, when dessert was brought up he was all in. Although known for their "Butter Cake" we decided to share(and by share I mean my father had about 90% of it) the Triple Layer Chocolate Cake. Turns out it's as good as it sounds...intense chocolate flavor in a very moist cake with vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream on the side...top notch. Sadly, it was getting late and my father had an early plane to catch so we got the bill(more reasonable than I expected), tipped the excellent waitress and said our good nights. We made plans to come back in September...although I'll be back well before that...Bar 19 Twelve will be going on my rotation.
