When looking at places to eat out at as a first time Myrtle Beach go-er myself. This place stood out because of the mention of a shrimp crunch wrap. It sounded delicious and so delicious that it caused an argument between the hubs and I. We both wanted to get it but I didn't want us to get the same thing. Well I can honestly say, I'm glad he got the same thing as me. Because the shrimp crunch wrap was SO YUMMY! I definitely wouldn't have wanted to share. It came with chips as a side. The vibe was nice but picking between patio, inside patio or inside. Thinking if you pick inside you'll be sitting in the AC, well you'd be wrong, it was so humid and sticky inside. When you sit down, they ask for a card to put on file for a tab. Even if you are paying in cash or with a different card. They just need to have a card on file. It's weird but whatever. I suppose it's for a reason. The server was nice. Would we come back here again, yes for the shrimp crunch wraps! I'd try to get other party members to try other things, so I can try other things without having to try other things, but I would try a different section of seating. read more

This was probably the worst food at a restaurant. The "Rockefeller" oysters are NOT the normal Rockefeller oysters you'd expect. They smelled like rotten seafood as soon as they came to the table it smelled rancid. The calamari was fried but somehow really soft it was weird like maybe just warmed in a micro wave. My bfs chicken caprese chicken was overly burnt to where the we had to send it back. He exchanged it for a fish sandwich but they told him we would have to pay for the more expensive option... not a problem but why charge us for a plate that was burnt just change our order.. Overall I'm ok with spending for dinner but Lordy please at least let the food quality match the price tag.. $150 worth of food that just missed the mark completely. Went here for the 1st time on Monday September 14th 2026 with my aunt, mom and a friend. The friend was visiting, and we decided to take her to a nice spot by the beach. Located right on the beach and water with views of the water and in the heart of Myrtle Beach. Note 4-5 Stars. Place has parking, and it is valet parking. (although, my aunt was uncomfortable with that, and asked the guy if she could park herself- and we did. 4) We entered the building via the elevator, and was greeted by a smiling host who listened to our preferences. We asked if the rooftop is covered and it wasn't, so opted for the outside patio, which is covered. However, the windows were open that day and it can let birds in! Anyways, this is a big restaurant by the water. Loved the water view from our table. Duly note that they keep your card on file, and they also charge a credit card fee. They did accommodate our separate checks. Our server did explain everything and was pleasant. We started with 4 waters, and I had an electric lemonade! They have an extensive drink menu, and small, but plenty of options of food like sandwiches, burgers, and fish items,and pricing is clear. we started with an appetizer of coconut shrimp and the chicken eggrolls, which were part of the happy hour items. For entree, I ordered the Shrimp po boy and they came with chips. Fries were extra. can't remember what my mom had, but my aunt and friend had the fish tacos. I enjoyed my shrimp po boy, as it was the perfect amount of food, and didn't fall apart! For dinner while we were in Myrtle Beach, we tried out this restaurant on the beach. We walked in and decided to sit outside to enjoy the ocean view. After being seated, I put in our beer order and ten plus minutes later, we finally got them. They had a lot of servers that night, so not sure what took so long and it happened again and again, so slow! After our first round of beer, our order came out: dozen raw oysters and sea lovers entree. The oysters were much better than the sea lovers entree, which was a disappointment and it was so bland, no seasoning or flavor. Every year we make a trip to RipTydz. There aren't many places that you can have a great meal and enjoy beautiful outdoor views of the ocean but also smell that salt air. The food is always a pleasure as well. Word of advice, unfortunately a few bad apples have forced management to take your card before you order because people have done a fine and dash too often. The views on the rooftop were great. That's the 2 stars part . The service was reasonable , likely because it was 9:30 at night. I can't blame them for the auto 15% and the open because of the location they probably get stuffed from money all the time . The food was nothing worth talking about i didn't even take pictures . The lobster roll was chewy and no flavor . The toasted buttered bun was the best part. The pineapple coconut mojito was pretty bar basic. Restaurant requires you to put a card on file. That should have been our last red flag. Service was horrible. Server deliberately ignored guests of the same sex and failed to offer drink refills. Server also ignored customer requests for items. Restaurant automatically charges you a gratuity no matter the size of your party as a "server fee." They also charge you a credit card fee. Since I paid cash so that wasn't a big deal. Food was ok but not worth the hype or the long wait. Restaurant becomes less family friendly and more of the bar scene after dark with questionable patrons. read more

Needed some lunch so gave RipTydz a try. Service was good throughout the meal. No complaints there. Started with the Smoked Gouda and Chicken Egg Rolls. They were very good. Crunchy and delicious. For my main I went with the Crab Cake sandwich and the Chesapeake Seasoned Fries. The Crab Cake was just ok. A lot of filler in it but was cooked well and the pretzel roll was good. Lobster rolls were dry and put in darkly toasted split top hot dog buns that weren't even opened to hold the meat. The waitress (if only I could remember her name) helped herself to a $10 tip on top of the 15% gratuity already included. There was only the two of us. So she stole and I imagine she does that a few times every shift she works. We wanted the roof top seating but decided against it due to the beaming sun and the looming threat of a downpour. We decided inside next to the open windows was best. If you dont already know, tables require someone's card to open a tab to get started, however you are permitted to split the check however you like. My family talked up the seafood here as my nephew had been before. I decided to order the Sea Lovers Steamer: crab legs, mussels, clams, shrimp and sausage - sans potatoes and corn. It was a nice large meal that I shamelessly did not share with anyone. Everyone's food came out in a reasonable time and hot. Only my neice had to send hers back - she asked for something to be put on the side inside of on her tacos. Turns out the put it on her tacos and she didn't like the taste. They were quickly remade and brought out. The food was good and our Server did a good job especially considering it was just her third day at work. Being seated indoors near the open patio and window allowed the fresh air and sounds of the ocean to set the ambiance. Tried going to this place the Friday before labor day. This place is run poorly. Ordered drinks and I ordered a margarita. Medium or large. I assumed large was a pint glass. They come back with this giant behemoth. Okay and then I find out its $30. Not happy but no problem. Then I take a couple sips. There is no booze in there whatsoever. Its all pre-made margarita mix. I ask for a beer instead I cant drink this. Waiter agrees, so does his manager. Then the GM says sorry, I'm overriding them we wont take it off the bill. Wow that was dumb. No problem. Cancel the rest and we left. Also what nerve charging customers 15% service charge. We were party of 4 but they do it for everyone including parties of 1. Stay away. RipTydz Oceanfront Grille & Rooftop Bar This was the only thing that 1) was open at 10 PM and 2) looked like it would have decent food. Google said they closed at 2 AM. We opted to sit outside, but the lighting out there was not the best. (You can see my photos are blue, red, and green because the lights kept changing color.) There was a DJ playing inside. He was good, but the music was really loud. Our server warned us in the beginning that they have an automatic gratuity, and they require a credit card to start a tab. She did explain that you can use a different form of payment later. Two things the server neglected to explain: 1) They don't actually close at 2 AM. We saw servers cleaning up and removing condiments from outdoor tables at around 11 PM. Someone came to tell us last call was at 11:30 PM. 2) There were no prices on any of the drinks listed on the menu, so we asked. Instead of going to check, the waitress quoted us a low price for a beer. I was shocked when the bill charged me $23.96. Of course I asked waitress about the discrepancy, and she just shrugged it off. A decent person would firstly not misinform and secondly would apologize when in the wrong. Bless her heart. I ordered the crab & lobster steamer $72.80 because that seemed like a popular item. I also got the 12 oz ribeye $38.48. I think the seasoning on the steamer was good; it was just not spread evenly. So there were some bites that were grossly salty, and some bites were bland. The ribeye was good. It came out medium rare like I requested. My recommendation is to clearly mark your store hours and prices. I hate the spread of misinformation. read more

Mediocre at best. This restaurant has great review and we cannot figure out why. There is nothing stand-out about it but the prices and view. The Hawaii 5-0 burger was bread, shredded lettuce, cheese, over a thin, grilled chicken breast with partially grilled unsweet pineapple. Bland. Dry. Not good at all. The Dungeness crab legs come steamed. There was some yellowing on the meat. Did not seem fresh. No seasoning. Bland. No utensil to access the crab meat. You'll be better off ordering them from Publix or going to the Juicy Crab. You have to give your credit or debit card first thing; prior to ordering. And gratuity is added no matter what. First time down here and this was the first place we stopped. They have BEAUTIFUL prime placement on the beach near the boardwalk. They have a little outdoor entertainment area on the sand which is cool. I would say that the vibe is what you would expect from Margaritaville but they have a major leg up on food quality and choice here at RipTydz. Tons of seatingv options so do not worry if you think you are going to suffer in the heat. Rooftop seating options and an enclosed patio overlooking the beach. This is the only place we came to eat twice while down here so bravo. I will tell you that the drink options are great and the portions are large. Great unique kids entertainment as well with your kids placement (Wicky sticks) my OT wife LOVED that they do this. The wildcard is speed of service. Both times the girls were great but the second time, man was this young lady in the weeds and she wasn't even getting hammered by her section size. I don't think she had a lot of experience and was likely new so I won't judge too hard butt you have to be able to read the room when you are dealing with people with kids. When families with young kids get done you got to get them out of there. Our daughter is very patient lucky for this place but we waited almost 20 minutes to close out. We had a great experience at RipTydz! First off, we LOVED our server. She was incredibly kind, friendly, and honestly one of the best servers we've had in a long time. She was very attentive and thoughtful, especially since we were dining with two toddlers. She noticed they were starting to get restless and helped us figure out how to order from two different areas so things would go smoothly for us. At one point the dads took the kids up to the rooftop to play cornhole and Connect Four, and she even brought us extra cups so we could split up the jar drinks so the guys could enjoy some too. It was such a small gesture but really showed how much she cared about making sure everyone had a good experience. The food was delicious, hot, fresh, and really tasty. We ordered the German pretzel, which was huge, warm, soft, and absolutely delicious. I also had the shrimp po' boy and really enjoyed it. I never would have thought to add diced pickles to it, but it actually added a great texture and flavor that worked really well. The drinks were good and fun, but they did taste a little watered down we just wished they were a bit stronger. The menu is long with lots of options. There is a lot of fried items on the menu which as a gluten free eater can be hard but they offer gluten free bread for sandwiches and burgers. I ordered a lobster roll sandwich on gluten free bread and appreciated that they gave me two pieces of bread since gluten free bread tends to be smaller than regular bread. The bread was so soft and fluffy and the lobster was phenomenal. 10/10 read more

Good steak, nice flavor. Crab cake was also very good, and the green beans had tasty herbs on them. Potatoes also got the royal treatment, with rosemary on them. Obviously, they have a skilled chef. The waiter did ask if we'd like a picture taken for a postcard. I told him we lived there, and he looked a little deflated. When we got there, they immediately asked for my credit card. Before you could even order. The waiter admitted he'd never worked at a restaurant that did that. I guess they've had people run off without paying? At $105 for two people, not including tip, I can see why! However, this restaurant is at a tourist destination. Prices are often very high at these places. I did ask for a table with a view of the ocean. We were sat at the bottom level nearest the ocean, but due to the thick window frame being at eye level, you couldn't see a thing from the table. I'm obviously not a happy customer, but I'm not unhappy with Jay, my server, but with whoever the manager was on the evening of July 28, 2026. This is the drink I ordered on the menu and what I got. It didn't taste like raspberry at all taste only like lemon and is also very weak. Food is the average nothing special but not bad either. I asked for a waterfront view and I guess I'm waterfront but blocked by the wall. When I asked the waiter to switch the drink, he said sure went and spoke with the manager, and the manager said no no refunds and no exchanges whether you like it or you don't. So keep that in mind if your Bartender sucks that night you're stuck with whatever she/he made you. I travel here once a week for work and try new restaurants, but this is definitely off my list for future visits. Excellent restaurant that I would recommend as a stop if you are in Myrtle Beach. Food was delicious as our table had the steak and crab cake, shrimp poboy, shrimp and crab Mac and cheese and the shrimp boat. All excellent choices but if you do not love, macaroni and cheese, do not get the mac & cheese options as it is an extremely large portion. It almost could be shared amongst the table. The waitress was very attentive and checked on us numerous times and had a great personality. My only real complaint is I was sold on the view from the patio and the windows were closed and seem to have a film on the outside of them keeping you from seeing the ocean during the summer. I'm sure the windows are open and it's a clear view of the ocean. I would recommend sitting on the temperature controlled patio as opposed to the dining room room as the dining room room was very small where the patio was very spacious. read more
