The food was actually very good, which makes this even more disappointing. Our party already had the automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill (as expected for a group of 5+), but apparently that wasn't enough. Our waitress decided to help herself to an additional $100 tip, seemingly hoping a group of tourists on vacation wouldn't notice. Spoiler alert: we noticed. I called the manager, and to their credit, they refunded the extra amount right away. I appreciate them making it right, but the fact that it happened at all is unacceptable. Adding extra money to your own tip without the customer's knowledge is a pretty serious breach of trust. The food was good, but I'd strongly recommend checking your receipt before leaving. I didn't mind waiting an hour to be seated, but the portion sizes are that for a child. The fish was overcooked and dry. When you're paying $30 for an entree you are either expecting a decent to perfect cook or large portion sizes to make up for the price. There was neither of these two options across 5 different entrees at our table. I genuinely despise writing bad reviews and I will say the two stars are for the service crew. While vacationing in South Carolina, we stopped here for happy hour, and I have to say this was the best restaurant of the six we tried on our trip! Definitely recommend if you're looking for fresh, tasty seafood. Our server, who i believe name was Josh, was wonderful and took great care of us, including making some amazing recommendations. We ordered the gumbo, scallops, shrimp tacos, mac and cheese, and house oysters--and the oysters were absolutely the best! Snooky's nails the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger long after your plate is cleared. Sitting right on the beach, it's hard to beat the setting, especially at sunset. That alone makes it worth the visit. As for the food, it was decent but didn't quite live up to the view. We tried the firecracker shrimp, oysters Rockefeller, the fresh catch sandwich of the day, and the horseradish-crusted salmon. Salmon was undercooked after ordering medium well but besides that everything was solid, but nothing really stood out or felt particularly memorable. It's the kind of menu where you won't be disappointed, but you also won't be talking about it the next day. They also included the tip for a party of 2 who sat at the bar so deducting a star for that! The drinks, though, were a different story. The cocktails were easily the next highlight. The pineapple mule was especially impressive, bright, fresh, and packed with real pineapple flavor that made it incredibly refreshing. Paired with a Grand Strand Airbrush local beer, the drinks elevated the whole experience and made up for what the food lacked. Overall, Snooky's is a great spot for the views and the cocktails. We sat outside by the beach and enjoyed the sunset and a delicious dinner. Started with a loaded bloody Maria. And firecracker shrimp. Then we ordered tenderloin fillets and added a lobster. Food was spot on. Great flavor and cooked to our request. This was a great choice and one of our favorite meals out in north Myrtle beach. Cute little gem. Must go there. read more

If anyone is looking for an outstanding grouper sandwich this is the place. Not only is it delicious and fresh it's a large serving and enough to share. I love the preparation Snooky's uses for this menu item - oatmeal and almonds for the crust. It's mouthwatering and you can't stop eating. Then if you like tartar sauce they make a Cajun sauce that is not spicy in my opinion that tops it off. The view of the ocean made the lunch enjoyable and the server we had was great. The atmosphere here was relaxing and enjoyable. Be prepared to park across the street at the overflow area but it's well worth the few extra steps. Okay, why this place has a 3 review is beyond me. The waitress was INCREDIBLE sweet. Yes we had to wait a bit on the food, but it was busy. The margaritas were a bit weak but tasty. I've seen billboards for Snooky's for years but because it reminded me of the girl from the TV show Jersey Shore, I was never really interested in going. However, on a recent trip back from North Carolina, we decided to give it a try. It's actually a good sized restaurant with plenty of tables and a nice view of the beach. The young man serving us was in the ball and made sure to ask if we wanted another beer when we finished the first. I had the blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich which was much better than I expected. I also had the wasabi slaw but I wasn't a fan. My wife enjoyed her chicken sandwich and the fries were on point. read more

First time at Snooky's and we will absolutely be going back! Maddie was our server and she was fantastic! We had the scallops appetizer.... O. M. G. every single bite was better than the one before. We were wanting light fare so we ordered handhelds and they did not disappoint. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the candied bacon on top was an unexpected treat! Food took an hour to come out. First try with Mahi entree the food was barely warm. Waiter took food back and came back with same plate only the mashed potatoes were placed in a small bowl on side. Mahi was exceptionally dry. This was probably the WORST fish dish I have ever had, and the service was ehh. We are locals, and we won't be back. Fresh Catch bites appetizer (grouper, blackened) was phenomenal. Tuna poke bowl was excellent too. We also got the platter with flounder, crab cake, and scallops. We really enjoyed the casual beach vibe here. We went twice during our trip. Service was really kind. Our first night we ordered po boy and Mahi sandwiches. Both were flavorful. The second time we had crab cakes and a fish/shrimp combo both served with asparagus and mashed potatoes (the kind with the red potato skin and a little lumpy - my fave). View was good, server was friendly and food was ok. I was charged a higher total because I used a debit card. When I questioned it they got the manger. He said because they have to pay a processing fee for credit card use they pass it on to the customer. I explained it was a debit card and he said it doesn't matter. He said in all his years he has never heard of such a thing. I even sent him to another restaurant to read their sign on debit card use. They also charge a 20% gratuity regardless of party size, it was 2 in our party. So your paying even if the service ir food sucks. Good service, it has it's good days and bad days for food and quality, but I recommend the coastal cheeseburger it is so delicious and as a burger enthusiast it's perfect, and nice view of the beach just wish it had a more friendly and cozy atmosphere near the tables like closed windows and nice lights other then that the ambiance and atmosphere is fine at best, and the windows that can see the ocean are nasty in the cracks CLEAN THAT!, but other then that it's ok at best and mid at worst. read more

I tried ordering some drinks at the bar and was never acknowledged after waiting 10 minutes. We got our food, my sweet potato fries were tough and cold. We visited on a Friday evening, with a party of 6, and were able to get right in. The parking lot right in front is really small, but there's a large overflow parking lot across the street. The kids menu comes with crayons, and all of the kids meals (except for the pasta) come on a cute frisbee for them to keep. We had the conch fritters and calamari as appetizers. The conch fritters weren't for me, but the calamari was really good and had a yummy breading on it. Our server was also the bartender, so he was really busy, but still very nice and attentive. I had the snow crab legs, and asked for extra butter and old bay. Very good! The drinks were also really good and had a heavy pour. We loved that the place was right on the beach. It was a little too cold to eat outside but there's view was still nice and we were able to walk on the beach after. Nice place with really good food. We would visit again. read more

Was there for the July 4th celebrations. Service was good but confusing. One employee tells us we can move our bar tab to a table then all of a sudden there's an angry bartender yelling at us to pay our tab. Regardless of the party size, they tacked on a 20% gratuity. They also tack on a credit card transaction fee not disclosed on the bill or any visible signage. Complaining about the charge got us nowhere so $8 out the window. I consider it a learning experience and now a warning to other visitors. Otherwise, food was mediocre typical bar food with some seafood options. I ordered the Oysters Snooky & it was really good. I typically prefer my Oysters more scored with marks on them. We also ordered mimosas by the pitcher. It's infused with vodka & mimosas. We didn't taste the liquor (which is actually terrifying lol). My friend ordered the Tuna Poke. She absolutely loved it ate ot all up. I'll start with saying parking is an issue. Be prepared to either pay for 24 hour parking next door, or walk. Location looks small, but we got right in without a wait. I was happy with this since they told us on the phone they don't take reservations for parties of 4. Drinks are on point. We had Bloody Marys and they were perfect. It did take a LONG time for food. I ordered my youngest crab legs earlier than the rest of the meal, in hopes it would arrive quickly. It didn't show up until the rest of the food did. The taste of everything was great though. The octopus ceviche was different and I really enjoyed it. If it hadn't been for the long wait for food, this would have received 5 stars. read more
