Great ambiance and excellent live music. We didn't try the food but had a few drinks and wine. Our group had a great time! Our server was friendly and attentive. Recommend going for the grown and sexy vibe when visiting Myrtle Beach.

We arrived 10 minutes early and checked in at the hostess stand. The two workers there were rude and unwelcoming. The first host snarkily replied that we were too early and needed to wait, and then whispered to the other host. They both looked at us and then the second one made a snarky remark too and told us we needed to wait somewhere. Our party of four found a bench in the waiting area. I ran outside to take a picture of the rocking chairs for Yelp in the waiting area outside and apparently the second I walked outside the host exclaimed "they got here early, and now part of their party just left." Their attitude and hospitality were very lacking for just a unique and artsy place. We were seated in the main dining area, with a great view of the ceiling featuring iconic blues artists and musicians. Our host was attentive and very friendly. She was welcoming and even explained the local favorites on the menu, specialty drink offerings, and show schedules. I asked a question about a sauce listed with a sandwich on the menu and she was knowledgeable. Service was a little slow for drink refills and food, but the atmosphere was enjoyable. I ordered the BBQ sandwich with regular fries and a pepsi to drink. The barbecue was very fresh, juicy, and flavorful. I asked for the sauce on the side and the cup was a great portion, had a nice flavor, and was great to dip. The fries were a great temperature and crispiness. Everything was warm and a great portion. Truly one of the best meals this entire trip. Everyone at our table was pleased with their meals!

It was challenging to agree upon a show as two of our guests were international visitors, and were less familiar with the English-language lyrics of popular American songs. We decided upon the ICONIC show, because it was described as a family-friendly musical variety show. My husband and I twisted arms a bit as we were familiar with the theatre having visited there years ago to see a different show ("One"). The ICONIC show was high energy, featuring a cast of highly talented musicians, dancers, a comedian, and even aerialists. The show featured country hits, classic rock anthems, Broadway favorites, and pop ballads, all professionally choreographed and with frequent costume changes. Stunt comedian Max Winfrey, who was featured on America's Got Talent, provided comedic relief between sets. The show was about two hours of non-stop entertainment. All four of us, even our international guests, enjoyed it. The Alabama Theatre, founded in 1993, was clean and comfortable, with excellent acoustics. The temperature in the venue was comfortable in late September. We were in orchestra seats (section B, row 5), but there wasn't a bad seat in the house. The theatre is in Barefoot Landing, where patrons could avail themselves to pre-show dinners or shopping. Parking is free and plentiful. Our orchestra tickets were $54.95 each, including taxes and fees. They do not offer senior, military, AAA or AARP discounts. (We did see a brochure that advertised a summer special wherein 2 kids aged 16 and under are allowed per paid adult). No refunds or exchanges are allowed. Our rating for the experience is 4.5, rounded up to 5.0. A few minor things prevented a true 5.0 rating. (1) Upon entering, we were unknowingly directed to table where the gentleman tried to sign us up for a timeshare presentation at Wyndham Resorts; and (2) some of the actors seemed uncomfortable in the costumes and were seemingly "just going through the motions" in some of the later musical selections, especially the Under the Sea/Ariel and Aladdin ones. We would visit the Alabama Theatre again when next in the N. Myrtle Beach area.

No doubt, the strongest performer is the lady who covers Pat Benetar. Second would be Bob Marley. But no disrespect to the rest of the cast. Some have much bigger shoes to fill (Michael Jackson? C'mon! That kid did a nice job). Freddy Mercury is next to the hardest. Also, was decent. Again, give these performers a lot of credit. It's not NY, LA, Vegas, or Nashville. They probably work very hard for okay pay! Go support live music & theatre!!

Legends has always been one of our favorites because it's consistently one of the better shows to enjoy in the area. Some type of an Elvis impersonator and Blues Brother act is ALWAYS present in any Legends lineup...and the lineup you see really does matter. This is why sometimes a Legends lineup is EPIC, while sometimes it's just "meh." That's the risk you run with Legends. On this most recent visit (my first since their relocation to their current location) we had a really strong lineup that included the Blues Brother, Alan Jackson, Steve Perry, Michael Jackson, and a 68 special leather suit Elvis . I will say, this was the first time I realized that the musicians aren't actually playing live music but merely pantomiming to a recorded track...it became very entertaining after realizing that to watch how some of them really got into their role. The best example of this was Mario on the keyboards. That man was fake playing that keyboard like his life depended on it and like he was having the best day of life...he was honestly more entertaining than some of the lead entertainers...whatever Legends is paying him they need to give him a raise! If you're in Myrtle Beach and looking for a fun way to pass the evening Legends is usually a safe bet!
