Visited during happy hour with a client and really enjoyed our apps and meal. Calamari, slider and edamame were tasty and plentiful. I had the pork belly tacos which did not disappoint. Drinks were spot on and service was expedient with a smile. Would definitely be back. read more

The food was pretty darn good, service was average, not sure why some waiters at the POS station had mask and others did not. We will probably go back, but we feel it's over priced , at least the food is, by about 20%. The drinks seemed in line price wise. read more

Expert bartenders and well prepared innovative menu. What more can you ask for!! The Korean pork was amazing paired with kimchi rice.

Booth is super comfy, nice chill vibe inside, overall, would go again. Chips and queso: queso was a bit gritty and chips were OK. Sliders: AMAZING! Bread toasted perfectly and burger has great flavor! California roll: pretty good and good bite size if you're a fast eater so you don't choke lol. Margarita: meh Caesar salad: light and great flavor. read more

This is a little off the beaten path of eateries I would normally think about going to, but it was new so we decided to give it a try. This is not a "pub" by any stretch of the imagination. It is a very upscale restaurant that likes to say it is a pub with a unique menu. Don't get me wrong, the food is AMAZING! But one normally doesn't associate Thai or Chinese food with a pub. That's where the "gastro" comes into play though. The only true "pub food" item on the menu is the fish & chips...which rocked...but otherwise you will not see anything else you would normally see in standard pub fare. Little more expensive than normal restaurants, but it's a good choice for special occasions and such, but I wouldn't make it a "go to" if we just wanted to have a night out. Parking is a bit of a pain due to the physical location, but that's not their fault. Still, overall it is a good place. read more

This place is just amazing I had 4 appetizers and they were all on point. Scott was amazing and understanding! I can't wait to come back!

This place is cool, industrial decor, Eclectic menu that is very customizable which was great because I had several picky eaters in my group. Have been back several times and the service has always been prompt and they have been extremely helpful in explaining options and accommodating. Will definitely be back again in the future. read more

Service was a bit slow but it's a new place with new wait staff so that's understandable. Had the St. Patrick's day special, corned beef and cabbage, with a cold Guinness brew. Which was poured very well, too. The corned beef was tender and the cabbage crisp. Will be back ! read more

Service at the bar was great. Went for drinks after dinner elsewhere to watch college football games on a Saturday night. Place was busy and servers were friendly. This is our third time at this location read more

This place is great. Really good food, amazing service and a nice patio to relax on. I was worried about indoor dining (which is available) due to COVID and came here for the patio. Definitely recommend! read more

You know, when you order a Reuben Sandwich, it should be toasted rye bread, heaps of corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing. No experimental additions. The Thirsty Lion serves the perfect Reuben Sandwich. Thanks for not trying to add avocados, or top it with onion rings or some such crap. Just good honest food for a reasonable price in a nice casual atmosphere. Thanks Thirsty Lion, I will be back. read more

Came here for happy hour and I had a great time! Happy hour is from 9:30pm to close 7 days a week which is pretty good for a Friday night out with your friends. Happy hour includes a variety of foods, $6 margaritas, and $1 off drafts. read more

I enjoyed their grill because they have an excellent waiting staff and great food. I would definitely come again for the great staff and atmosphere. read more

I liked this place pre-Covid but now I have even more good things to say about it. They are actually honoring the recommendation to limit capacity and spread tables out. (Using Open Table helps us save our spot..). Some restaurants are NOT doing this--- The food has been amazing and the cocktails are consistently good. We appreciate how difficult it must be to keep customers safe, and still offer really great service. read more

I had lunch at the thirsty lion on wednesday afternoon. The fish and chips were outstanding. My server, meredith, was amazing. Taking care of my every need. She made my dining experience very memorable. Thank you for having such a great server. I know I can be difficult at times and will request her on my next visit. Ken campbell. read more

Wonderful new place! I can't say enough great things about our server Gary. He was outstanding. He presented us with several excellent suggestions for lunch. Gary even went out of his way to bring us a couple of soup samples to try. This scratch kitchen has a diverse menu with something for everyone. If you like fresh fish I highly recommend the seared ahi tuna salad. It's amazing. I've been here a few times and I've never been disappointed in the food or service. read more

The place is huge and nice, we arrive at 3:00 p.m. and were probably just like 6 tables occupied however most of the empty tables were dirty. The waitress took us to one of those dirty tables without any explanation, the food was just ok, my poke bowl small and pricy. We need to grab utensils ourselves from another table because the waitress didn't bring them. My husband wanted ketchup for his hamburger and had to stand up to look for someone to ask because there wasn't anyone around. Really disappointed service for such a nice place. read more

I was seated at the last 2 seater at the corner of the bar tonight and received minimal service for the entirety of the night, and was only checked on if I made eye contact with the young lady that waited on me. The energy she gave consistently was not welcoming or friendly, but very minimalistic. In fact once I asked for my ticket I believe no words were said after that, but because they have a kiosk for payment I had to interact with her for another 3 minutes in silence and I left with no farewell greeting. I believe a situation happened among the employees that bothered her and it showed to say the least. Call me anal, but the place is too upscale for poor service. Good food though. read more

Our first time to the Thirsty Lion. Heard the service was slow....well they must have fixed that! The place was busy but we were seated quickly and our server was around frequently. We did a hodge-podge of food just to try things out. The Spinach artichoke did was very well seasoned. The Scottish Eggs came highly recommend and now we know why, YUM. Being a huge pork fan, I had to try the pulled-pork slider and they didn't let use down. From beer-cheese soup, chicken pad-thai to craft burgers and steaks. There is plenty here to keep us coming back. read more

Went here by a recommendation of a friend. I'm in total agreement with them now! This place is a fantastic, and beautifully designed. The atmosphere is great and our server Adriana was the best! She was very knowledgeable and made several recommendations after we talked about our preferences. She has the best attitude and such a wonderful personality!! Ask for her the next time you visit. We met Jason (manager, I believe) who was equally as knowledgeable and friendly as well. The food was a little pricey but the taste made it worth it! I had the green chilies grilled chicken with avocado and my friend had their signature Cuban sandwich. Both were phenomenal!! They were both very flavorful and huge portions! Overall, this is my new favorite place for dinner and drinks!! Don't forget to ask for the best server, Adriana!! read more

Staff was amazing! Attentive but not overly so. Food was perfect temp & good quality. Drink were served & refilled with good efficiency

4th time here. Love the bar set up and their happy hour they run every day from 3-6pm. Food is excellent. There are 3-4 new pop up restaurant bars now in this area but thirsty lion tops it on food quality and prices are good. Shout out to Evelyn, Randi and Ky our bartenders tonight who have been all over us with food and drink. Thank you. read more

My husband and I decided to try the place out this afternoon. Figured something new, why not. Tried the bacon wrapped prawns...these were tasty. I couldn't decide what I wanted for lunch and asked the server for recommendations...he returned with our water and quickly did I'll be back I have to use the restroom. (This was weird to me.)Anyways, I had the Falafel Salad on the spring menu. It was decent but over dressed. My husband had the Pepper Bacon Burger. Now this was a different experience than mine...the burger was burnt and had no flavor. The fries were over cooked and cold. I asked our server if he could bring over some new fries that weren't over cooked and over salted. I watched him go over to the kitchen and grab a metal bowl that was under the heat lamps and bring my husband these fries. In no way is it okay to precook fries and put them under a heat lamp. He asked him if the fries were any better...umm nope! Same fries! He says he will bring over some less 'crispy' fries. I continue watching him and he empties the metal bowl onto a plate and begins eating them. He went around the corner then came back to our table and took the second batch of fries he brought my husband then went around the corner and began eating those. It was a very weird experience. Needless to say, we won't be returning. read more

The waitress was not the friendliest. We asked for lemon 3 times before we finally got one. The bacon on the waffles and In the Bloody Mary was raw. Bloody Mary contained No celery or carrot (which is described in the menu). Paid with credit card while waitress stood over me so I could not give a realistic review. Disappointed. read more

Had a nice Sunday brunch in the patio. Our server, Carly, was great and the food was good too. The bacon Bloody Mary was just ok. Probably could make a better one at home with a mix. First time to take the time to leave a bad review. It all has to do with customer service. Came to restaurant to watch a football game. Asked two members of staff to check to see if we could get our game on which was being aired by ESPN so no issue with getting access. One staff member never followed up and the server went to socialize with coworkers before coming to us to inform us they would not be able to accommodate our request. We cancelled order and left. Before leaving I asked to speak to the manager so they would know why we were leaving which was more to do with the lack of follow up by the staff. We won't be back and hopefully the staff understands the important of their level of service and the experience by the consumer. read more

This was our first visit. Our waitress Jamie was very helpful and answered our questions about recommended items on the menu. We had the calamari and artichoke dip as appetizers, then I ordered the fish and chips. My daughter got the grilled salmon and my wife got the fish tacos. All were really good. IMO after seeing what everyone else ordered and trying all of them, next time I'm getting the salmon. I also had the pecan porter beer with dinner, which was excellent. read more

We have just moved to the area and this was our first outing in Dallas/Ft.Worth. We had never heard of Thirsty Lion but our new neighbor recommended to us and we were very impressed. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere and the patio is huge looking over a courtyard area where kids can play. The food was absolutely delicious and we were amazed by all the drink options. The Wagyu burger was cooked perfectly and my wife enjoyed her ahi salad. Our waitress Emily was very sweet and gave some of the best service we have had in a long while and made great recommendations. The bread pudding was to die for, it needs to permanently be on the menu! We are already planning on when we will be back next week to try out the craft cocktails, this place is that good! read more

We adore this place. Great food and fast service. The Gastropub burger is the hubby's favorite and I love all the sandwich options. We will keep going back though and hope it stays awesome. read more

Went and waited awhile to be seated. The hostess walked the entire mostly empty restaurant looking for a table for two only to seat us right behind her counter. This was 12/20/19 around 9:44 pm. We we're seated but no one came to ask about drinks. We gave them 15 minutes and even though they were all gathered in conversation at the hostess counter no one ever asked us about drinks. Many servers walked passed and made minimal to no eye contact. We decided to leave and went across to Lazy Dog. We we're greeted immediately. I explained about the bad experience at Thirsty LIon and we we're giving a complimentary order or waffle chips as an apology for their "neighbors" bad service or lack of. The food at Lazy Dog was very good and I recommend it. I guess we didn't look the "type" to be served at Thirsty Lion. I don't usually write reviews like this but it almost ruined date night. read more

I'm stuck on what rating to give... Service would be a 2 Food would be a 3 (for my entree specifically) 4 (for appetizers and dessert) It was an extremely lively atmosphere--very busy. We were sat in a booth right behind the host stand. I noticed there were about 4 hosts, yet it seemed constantly chaotic--a lot of them just standing around with a long line of guests waiting mixed with periods of everyone doing something leaving the host stand unattended. Most of them gave off a very confused vibe. Just by body language and facial expressions they all seemed a little...(annoyed?) with each other. Anyway, they appeared to be a bit disorganized and out of sync with each other. Most of them were friendly, some had a bit of an attitude but I'm sure that's was just out of frustration because as I said it was a really busy night. Our server, I believe her name was Monique, was a bit friendly at moments (it was nice that she engaged with my brother when he asked her a silly question) but that was kind of the extent of it. There were quite a few moments of her appearing to tune us out as we were speaking... When it came to ordering the food, it was a bit of a mess. I'm not sure what happened with that. I'm not sure how to explain it... She took an order and then after taking the order, she never lifted her head back up. Thinking she was still working on it, we would pause and wait for her to look at the next person who would then order (which is usually how it goes). But when she looked back up, she made it seem like she was waiting on us, in a sense that we should have just kept ordering without her looking up. There was just an air of confusion and little communication. It felt more that we were an inconvenience to her. I noticed she had a lot of tables, so I don't know if she was just rushing because of that, or if personality wise she's just naturally standoffish. There was a level of engagement that really wasn't there for us. Management and food runners were super friendly HOWEVER I would recommend bringing out food for the ladies before the men. My dad and brother got their food before anyone else. For appetizers we had the Caprese offering from the Summer Menu, the brussel sprouts, and bacon wrapped dates. All were fantastic! Great flavor, though the salad was a bit over-dressed. I got the Raspberry Drop which was superb. I got the bacon wrapped filet with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was a disaster. I will say, I had a migraine start after appetizers, so maybe that had something to do with my loss of appetite during my entree. I ordered my steak medium-rare. Let me tell you, this was the hardest steak to cut I have ever experienced in my life. I was STRUGGLING to cut this steak. Something about it just looked wrong... it seemed like it was cooked properly, but at the same time not. Instead of a pink-red it was more of a purple-brown? My thinking is it wasn't thoroughly cooked probably due to being wrapped in the bacon. Timing just didn't seem correct in the cook. The outside of it was nice, but it was barely warm on the inside. I already wasn't feeling well so I decided to just take it home and heat up myself for leftovers instead of having them replace it--at that point I had zero appetite. The mashed potatoes were very bland and the asparagus was charred a bit too much--that's all I tasted. Didn't seem like they were seasoned at all. Everyone else generally seemed to enjoy their entrees. For dessert we got the blackberry crumble from the Summer Menu. It was very delicious--not too sweet. Overall it was an unfortunate experience. If I do return with them, I would avoid getting a steak. Both my parents made a comment about our waitress as well, so they didn't seem too thrilled about the experience either. read more
