This location is always nice and clean to go to. Now when myself and a friend of mine got there the first waitress we had didn't give us time to sit down abs was rushing us to order then when we wasn't ready to order she never came back so we ended up getting another waitress (which I forgot her name) she was really nice, sweet, and patient. I really appreciate her for taken the time to serve us. Of course the food came out hot and fresh with no issues. Now in will say this... the dish I had was the steak and hash bowl, I believe, if you on the GLP-1 you will not finish it but it was pretty good. read more

Monday - Friday, I am not a breakfast person. However, on some weekends, if I'm running errands in the morning, breakfast/brunch is on the list. It was First Watch or Oldwest, as you can see, I chose First Watch. I was going to get one of my usuals, but what's the point in wanting to explore a menu when you're always getting what is your "usual"? Monterey Club: Turkey, bacon, avocado, organic mixed greens, tomato, Monterey Jack, and mayo on sourdough. This was DELICIOUS, so delicious, I danced after the first bite. My goodness, everything was so fresh, and the avocado was perfect. There was enough to cover all of the sandwich. It was fresh, creamy, and a beautiful green. They didn't hide an imperfect avocado in the sandwich (some places do that); it was of great quality, through and through. Everything married perfectly together, and the bacon was crispy. You were able to get bacon, with every bite taken. Fruit Cup: The fruit, as always, was fresh and hit the spot. Even with being a to-go order, the customer service is always present. I came here on a Sunday morning to have brunch and despite it being very busy we were able to get seated pretty quickly. I do wish there was a better way for them to deal with queuing as the front of the restaurant was very, very packed as people waited to get seated. Their spring menu was very interesting and I loved the specialty flavors, which is what we ended up ordering. We decided on the berry French toast with a lavender whipped topping, which was incredible. Usually, I'm not one for a sweet brunch. I tend to lean towards savory however this was a great way to start my morning as the French toast wasn't overly sweet and it was cooked perfectly so it wasn't super soggy like most French toast I have had. My friend chose the breakfast bowl, which was super filling and she had a ton of leftovers to take home! Certainly one of our favorite breakfast restaurants. The table service is always prompt and attentive. The food is delivered they way we ordered it. If I want extra-crispy bacon, that's what I get. The food is fresh and the seasonal dishes are excellent. On this visit, we tried their Blueberry Lemon Cornbread. That was a treat! The ambiance is smartly decorated. I hadn't been to First Watch in a long time, so when my sister suggested it for our "last day of summer (before school starts for my nieces)" brunch, I was excited to see what I'd been missing. I really should come here more often.. they have a big breakfast/brunch/lunch menu, plus cocktails and mimosas, plus lots of veggie and gluten free options. We ordered way too much food, but here's what we had... Youngest niece, age 6: scrambled eggs, sausage, and a fruit cup. She loved the eggs, said the sausage tasted just like her favorite she eats at home, and enjoyed the strawberries, blueberries, and grapes. She shared her pineapple. Middle niece, age 8: kid's gluten free French toast and scrambled eggs. She said the eggs tasted like her moms but not dry, hahaha. She eats gluten free now and was happy to report that the gf bread is delicious and she especially likes the crust. The kid's French toast is 2 pieces and it's plenty of food. Eldest niece, age 11: Belgian waffle with berries and pure maple syrup, of course. It's big and fluffy and served with lots of butter and berries. 10 out of 10. My sister: a side of hash brown potatoes and the "Bacado," which is a zhuzhed up omelette with bacon, avocado, and cheese, served with a ton of fresh arugula. Yummm. Me: gluten free French toast and a side of bacon. Not much to say... the toast is sweet and buttery, the bacon is salty and crisp. Delicious! Me and my mom have always enjoyed first watch as one of go to brunch places. It can get packed on weekends but then again what brunch place isn't? Food is yummy and flavorful. Service is good and accommodating. Me and my mom love the farmhouse ambiance. We love their seasonal menus as well because some sound very yummy to us and we end up trying it. Even my dad has gotten a seasonal option one time. The most recent time me and my mom went with my grandma for brunch, first watch had their fall menu, and what really hooked me on trying one of their fall options was the really cool art from the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings that our waitress ironically did. The first time it was brought to the table the eggs were solid, like fully cooked yokes. The second time the came the yolks were completely raw. Now that doesn't make me squeamish but the average person would have probably been a H no! The hollandaise sauce had too much lemon. The salmon was a decent portion, fresh and smokey. The tomatoes were also solid. The fresh greens on the side were fresh, crisp and the arugula just the peppery bite it needed. The dressing was fine. The hubs ordered the big breakfast which has definitely been affected by shrinkflation. The sausage patty was very small. The scrambled eggs was a small portion. The potatoes that came with the plate he subbed out for grits (and regret) as the grits were flavorless and runny. The place was hopping but not like it used to be on Saturday mornings. What an awesome breakfast. I'm a real fan of the breakfast sandwiches. The Elevated is my favorite, but the $1M is really great too (if you like that maple pancakey thing). It's a spacious place. Even when it's crowded, you feel like you're not sitting on top of each other. Weekends between 10am and 1pm are packed. BUT ... use their app and their "get in line" feature. It DOES work. Side note: if you're in a hurry, this isn't going to be your top choice. They always seem to be one or two servers light. Their priority is hot food service - meaning, if someone's meal is up, you're going to wait until that's brought to their table. So ... it's good if you're the one whose food is ready. But you're going to wait (sometimes quite a few minutes) for water and coffee, after you're first seated. The food is A+. The overall experience is A-. read more

We had a party of six for a dual birthday brunch. Apparently six is not a number they get a lot. The lady who carried herself like a manager explained she had a booth, but it would be a tight fit so we also had the option to wait a minute or two while they put a couple tables together on the patio. I personally thought that was a fair way to give us our options. We chose the patio. She left to get the tables ready. It all went downhill from there... A young lady who appeared to be a hostess looked at us and suggested we sit at the "community table" with some other, random patron if we didn't mind sitting with a stranger. Somehow, she worded this with a "do you mind?" I answered, "yes" (as in, "yes, we do mind"). She took it the other way and started to move to seat us, at which point we restated that, "yes, we do mind" (I mean, a party of six with some random patron? I don't think that's the intent of their community table thingy, ridiculous as it is. Okay, we get seated & the server just drops off a couple pots of coffee that barely pour. Once she comes back for our order, things go fairly smoothly until she's done and interrupts our conversation that just started back up needing to know how to split the check. I get it, but timing...also, one of our party asked if she could substitute for the eggs on her plate & was curtly told the only substitution allowed would be a fruit cup. I asked for my English muffin with butter and jam. It came out cold and pre-buttered with about a teaspoon of some weird preserves - I could not identify the flavor. Ordinarily I would have sent it back, but as it was all I ordered, I let it pass. I had some packets of grape jelly in my purse as it was, but that said, when I ask for butter, I don't want YOU buttering my bread for me. The more I think about it, the angrier I get. We had French toast served without syrup and a food runner that had no idea to whom any of the food went. If the server had used her pivot point, maybe there would have been less chaos. Oh, and how many modern places make you pay up front rather than with the server? What a steaming train wreck of a restaurant. I don't know how they got so many locations. Poor food quality, Over-priced, and just enough charm to make me think breakfast with a rattlesnake is a good idea. This is a "never again" kind of place. read more

Food is really good here and I love the summer specials just wish they had kept the cornbread w bacon o the menu I was hooked lol. Millionaire bacon is the bomb and I love their cheese grits. My only small issue and this is a personal preference is their French toast. They dishes look amazing and all the toppings taste good but I don't feel the bread is left on the egg long enough. There was hardly anyone in there and we had to wait 15-20 mins for a table - which is fine but they're taking social distancing to a new height. The restaurant itself was really dirty for so early in the AM. There was stuff all on the ground, and even the water glasses we were given looked very suspect... some weird film. The server saw me looking at it and you could see the embarrassment on his face when he said he would bring a new one (without me asking). Our food came and it met the First Watch standards, so yay (I've been to several in many different cities and states). When we unwrapped the silverware, one of the forks had a prong bent so far out of alignment, you have to wonder why they would wrap it up and put on the table for anyone to use. The wholegrain pancakes were cooked well, but not my thing. Adding insult to injury, no plain maple syrup. It was flavored. I appreciate healthy options, but don't get rid of the traditional. My fiancé and I went to First Watch this morning. I liked that I could check in and get on the waiting list through their website. I ordered the Elote Hash, from their summer menu. It had great flavor! I give only 4 stars for 2 reasons: first, the dish was pretty salty. I did not notice that at first, but it tasted saltier the further I got into it. Second, I ordered the eggs poached and, while they looked beautiful, the yolks had the consistency of hard boiled eggs. When the waitress, Chris, came to check on us, I mentioned the eggs so that she would be aware. I didn't ask to send the dish back - I was thoroughly enjoying it. She said she'd "take care of us". I thanked her and told her there was no need as I was still eating and enjoying the flavors. When Chris brought the check, my fiancé noticed she had comped my meal - greatly appreciated but truly not necessary. Ok, this place could easily get 5 stars from me because their menu is good, food is good, service is generally good. However, we had a waitress (sorry, I'm old school) today who was not well trained. She carried our drinks from the top with her fingers holding the rim of the glass. We mentioned it to her, but she should have been trained -- not her fault. Also, she had to bus tables in between serving food. Finally, I saw her wiping multiple tables using the same dirty washcloth -- it was visibly not clean. Also, our food was not hot. An omelet needs to be hot. And their regular bacon is not very flavorful and a bit tough. We like to sit on the patio, but we had to keep asking them to turn the music down. The millionaire bacon, carnitas burrito, and the hash dishes stood out the most. The pancakes weren't call home to mom worthy. The drinks are good but not worth the high price point when they have a bartender there.all the drinks we got were "pour it yourself" which felt out of place for the setting.
