BLA instead of BLT (subbed avocado for tomato)
    Robin P.

I really do want to love this place, I wanted to love it when it was Wood Grain Bistro. I heard it had been sold so I decided to check it out with my sister and her family. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's cute and the menu has great options.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But there are just some things that need attention. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space desperately needs some fabric somewhere to soften the sounds. Curtains, pillows, a rug, anything.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The chairs are too small for larger adults. I broke my leg end of last year and gained weight, so I have to sit half off the chair or it digs into me because the booths along the back wall are usually not available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food. It's fine. The biscuits are dense, the pancakes are dense, the coffee drinks are pretty weak, it's just... fine. It's not bad, it's not great, it's fine. The eggs are good and the avocado is delicious. The wait staff are cute and sweet, had no issues with service.

Second time visit and the service is still great. They changed the name of the restaurant but the menu stayed the same. I had the corned beef hash and it was not good. It was like canned corned beef. The omelette was a little burnt with a crusty texture and too much cheese. I will stick to the trio toast next time.

The quiche is must try food. Fresh veggies and eggs on the very soft and crispy pie crust bowl aside of green salad with delicate taste dressing.

Hidden gem in Bedford! Great brunch spot and affordable prices! I had the bacon egg and cheese biscuit with breakfast potatoes-pictures don't do the biscuit justice! It was really yummy. I also had the honey bunches of oat latte and it was delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is cute and the service was good on a Saturday mornings[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Check this place out!

Food is too salty and have good service wouldn't come back chicken is salty eggs is not that good

If you're looking for a small family owned breakfast/ brunch spot! You will enjoy this place! There was no waiting time at all on Sunday morning!!! Other places said waiting time between 30-45 minutes!! Service was great! We had Chilaquiles and bacon egg and cheese biscuits! Food was good I would say 7 out of ten! But still I would consider it great experience!

We were so excited to finally try Wood & Grain! First off, their hours are better than most breakfast/brunch places around as they're open till 3 on weekends. Our lazy, sleepy selves much appreciated this! Inside ambience is pared down and minimalistic. Very cosy! The service was friendly, attentive, and accommodating. She even let us move tables since we ordered so much food and needed more space. (Lol) The coffee is strong and served in generous portions. They have an amazing list of speciality coffees/lattes to choose from too! We want to try those next time! The menu is the perfect size: not huge but a GREAT variety of options ranging from breakfast tacos to traditional breakfast offerings. They also rotate in various specials and other menu items. Everything was absolutely delicious and made with such care -- MAJOR compliments to the chef. Everything we had was to die for (see photos). We are so excited to make this cozy spot a staple!

I really wanted to like this place. A couple of friends invited us to try this place out and it's cute, had decent seating, and the waitress was nice and friendly. I got the Lox Toast per recommendation of the waitress. We ate, it was good, and the portions were good. I was on my last bite and I started to feel nauseous. We paid, left, and not 20 minutes later I threw up. After throwing up I felt immediately better. I don't know what it was but my husband also had a stomach ache after eating there. I hate wasted food so I was really upset. It might have been the lettuce or something, nothing tasted off and I had nothing to eat before this meal. I would love to give it a second chance but I'm concerned to have the same thing happen again.

My first time at the Wood and Grain, forgot to take pictures of the food, but it was excellent. The steak and eggs were delicious as well as the Vietnamese coffee. I'd also add that there was a great selection of different coffee drinks.

Spinach, bacon and feta omelette, with a bite missing - I was hungry!

I had the spinach omelette and it was delicious! Not greasy, light, fluffy and tasty. I travel a lot and one of my disappointments with food is the greasiness. That wasn't the case here. It was perfect! Priscilla was awesome too, super friendly, quick and helpful. Next to no wait for the food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cafe is clean and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll be back!

Good food and service. I had driven past weekly and finally stopped in. The breakfast menu has great variety as well as sandwiches and salads I ordered the breakfast tacos and a side of fruit-all done very well. Thank you!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Dang....I remember when this was a cute wholesome family-owned little bistro and really enjoyed coming here. But they've sold their soul to the devil and bought into the whole "let's be cool" vibe and their standards have completely gone down hill[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Don't believe me....a year ago their health score had 1 violations now it's up to 12! After 10 minutes of waiting by the hostess stand for a table. To then be seated and wait another 15 minutes for a waitress that couldn't be bothered to greet us at the table...just a "you ready to order?" Without ever looking up at us when taking the order. 30-minutes later ...without a water refill mind you (ANDDD instead of being offered water you had to ask for water...our bad for assuming she would bring 2 glasses of water being there was 2 of us ... nope, just one. When we asked for another one...her response "oh you want one too??" Wow.). Anyways, our extremely greasy "food" finally arrived. Denver omelet....more like overcooked scrambled eggs glued together, Eggs Florentine with broken hollandaise sauce....and brunt crispy hash browns with uncooked potatoes in the middle. We paid for our meal and then asked to speak to the manager so hopefully they would correct some of these issues....only to realize the person that brought out our food was the owner!! So obviously they don't care about their standards, otherwise they would've noticed how wrong our meals looked. She offered us a free meal for the next time we return... Sorry...you had your chance, I'm done and will never return.

I believe for weekday lunchtime they offer a lunch/drink combo which it awesome. I've been to the ftw location too and both cafes are super busy. This location has plenty of parking. I haven't done the wine portion but I know my friends love wine and charcuterie. So it's a perfect get together for ppl who love wine and others who don't. They have plenty of tables/chairs downstairs and some upstairs and great outdoor patio for those with dogs. I come here often and bring visiting friends here too.

To name a few there's creme brulee, charcoal honey, ube, pandan...along with all the regular flavors. The pastries are good, they are average, which is still a good thing. Ham & cheese came out flaky. :) Presentation is beautiful. Sometimes I'll go there midday & there's not alot to choose from so it will prevent me from getting a snack. Charcuterie & wine is available but I haven't ordered any of those. A fun atmosphere, along the wall are built in seats with chairs on the opposite end of the table. Other seating includes table with benches (beware you can't move the benches to get in & out, if I'm wrong I apologize), then some a few tables with chairs by the windows, on the other side they do have benches facing each other with tables in between (great for groups!), & beautiful outdoor patio seating. They have a small upstairs with chairs & use wine barrels as tables. Clever! Customer service is okay, let me say that every person there has been extremely pleasant but out of the four times I've been there, only once I didn't have an issue. They seem to enough their jobs & working together, which is a green flag for any place, but sometimes they get distracted. One time I stood there & staff was chatting in the corner, a good amount of time passed before anyone noticed me. Another time, they just forgot my drink (it was the only thing in my order) & there were no other order left... the group was again chatting away with with each other, then during another visit they forgot my croissant. Each time they did apologize, but three out of four times aren't good odds. I probably won't frequent this location as much, but I will stop by once in awhile because their drinks are worth it.

Everything was delicious. The sourdough bread was very crispy and nice. Avocado toast was good, nothing impossible to recreate at home but done well. The flatbread looked incredible. I could not try it but my husband really, really loves this place and goes back on his own, which says everything. One complaint and it is the same complaint I have across most places in Dallas. Clean the espresso machine. My cappuccino tasted slightly burnt, which gives it that cardboard flavor, and serving a hot espresso drink in a paper cup does not help either. Hot milk and cardboard do not work well together. This is something that could easily be fixed and would make a real difference. Outside seating is very nice, covered and very clean. Cute place overall. Would recommend coming here. P.S. My ratings are based on whether I believe I could make a better or healthier version at home. If food/drinks/service impress me, I'll be happy to come back. If not, the stars reflect that.

While there, a lady came in with her mother, the owner of the establishment came out to greet her in a way a friend would greet another. When you're wanting something that feels genuine and from the heart, this will be a cafe I'd recommend. Everyone, knows someone, even if meeting as strangers over coffee or nibbles of sweet pastries. Heck, you can throw in some games to that, as well. As someone stated in a previous review, it seems as if everyone who works there, truly loves being there. It isn't a chore, it isn't about rushing to get to the next drink preparation, they're, there to make sure you have the best experience in the place they nurture for others to enjoy. I appreciate that. Blueberry Matcha: I'm a fan, but not a fan of matcha. To explain, not everyone knows how to balance the taste of matcha. It's either way too earthy/gritty or not sweet enough, it has been rare that someone knows how to balance that combination. I have never tried a blueberry matcha and was excited to see this was one of our options. This was superb. The blueberry wasn't in syrup form, it was a blueberry foam that added the perfect amount of flavor and sweetness. This is something I'd get again, and again. Too many people ruin matcha's with syrup that swims on the bottom, here, not even. Seasonal: White Chocolate Rose Scone I'll admit, I'm not a scone person. The scones I've tried in the past, were hard and flaky and that's what turned me away from there. But this scone was soft and moist, I truly enjoyed every bite. I am now open to trying others, but only at this cafe. Cheddar Chive Biscuit: My favorite. Well, my favorite is their Pepper Jack Jalapeno Biscuit, so this will be my second. I warmed it up and added a touch of butter, OOOHHWEEEE, it more than hit the spot. I can't wait to have one again. With this latest visit, I learned they alternate their biscuits monthly and they have calendars available to remind their patrons. There are several I'd love to try and thankfully, they're being served on my days off. This is such a beautiful establishment, that's inside and out.

The owner also shares a monthly baking schedule, which is super helpful if you want to plan ahead and place orders for the office, friends, or family. I even noticed an Easter order form available for anyone needing some last-minute holiday treats! They also feature monthly drink menus, which keeps things fun and interesting if you like trying something new. The music is lightly playing in the background--just enough to set the mood without overpowering conversation or your peaceful time. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to
