Good drinks, food kinda sucks. We visited twice. First visit I got the fish and chips, the fish was like plastic with a churro batter coating, my wife had chicken they told her it was grilled and it was lambasted in butter, I guess there thought was butter makes anything tasty, just remember some people have food conditions. Ore recent visit last night there was something off with the burger meat I spent the rest of the night feeling sick to my stomach and I can eat anything. I was seated at the last 2 seater at the corner of the bar tonight and received minimal service for the entirety of the night, and was only checked on if I made eye contact with the young lady that waited on me. The energy she gave consistently was not welcoming or friendly, but very minimalistic. In fact once I asked for my ticket I believe no words were said after that, but because they have a kiosk for payment I had to interact with her for another 3 minutes in silence and I left with no farewell greeting. I believe a situation happened among the employees that bothered her and it showed to say the least. Call me anal, but the place is too upscale for poor service. Good food though. read more

Family of 8(which included a 3 & 2 year old) visited while in town for a funeral. We were seated quickly. Cocktails were good. Scotch eggs & California Roll appetizers were tasty. Hubby's Fish & chips were ok nothing remarkable, others' tacos were good, my Cubano was one of the worst I've ever had. It had a leftover charcoal meat taste & not very much meat. Even w/pickles & Dijon, was missing that signature zip that most Cubanos have. Overall, total ticket price was over $200 which @ between $25-$33/per adult was too pricey for the standard pub meal. Oh & our server never returned our credit card so after searching & three phone calls insisting they check w/server listed on our receipt, they found it in their safe! This place is consistently very good. I'm from Colleyville and when I come home to visit we usually end up here. The restaurant itself is very beautiful with high end finishes. Menu is extensive with something for everyone. We went today for brunch- I had the Chilaquiles, dad had the Farmers Hash, and my friend had the Corned Beef Hash. Everyone was happy with their selection- it was difficult to choose because everything looks so good! My dish I think would benefit with a little more heat and sauce if I'm being nit picky. This is a little off the beaten path of eateries I would normally think about going to, but it was new so we decided to give it a try. This is not a "pub" by any stretch of the imagination. It is a very upscale restaurant that likes to say it is a pub with a unique menu. Don't get me wrong, the food is AMAZING! But one normally doesn't associate Thai or Chinese food with a pub. That's where the "gastro" comes into play though. The only true "pub food" item on the menu is the fish & chips...which rocked...but otherwise you will not see anything else you would normally see in standard pub fare. Little more expensive than normal restaurants, but it's a good choice for special occasions and such, but I wouldn't make it a "go to" if we just wanted to have a night out. Parking is a bit of a pain due to the physical location, but that's not their fault. Still, overall it is a good place. read more

First time to take the time to leave a bad review. It all has to do with customer service. Came to restaurant to watch a football game. Asked two members of staff to check to see if we could get our game on which was being aired by ESPN so no issue with getting access. One staff member never followed up and the server went to socialize with coworkers before coming to us to inform us they would not be able to accommodate our request. We cancelled order and left. Before leaving I asked to speak to the manager so they would know why we were leaving which was more to do with the lack of follow up by the staff. We won't be back and hopefully the staff understands the important of their level of service and the experience by the consumer. read more

We have just moved to the area and this was our first outing in Dallas/Ft.Worth. We had never heard of Thirsty Lion but our new neighbor recommended to us and we were very impressed. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere and the patio is huge looking over a courtyard area where kids can play. The food was absolutely delicious and we were amazed by all the drink options. The Wagyu burger was cooked perfectly and my wife enjoyed her ahi salad. Our waitress Emily was very sweet and gave some of the best service we have had in a long while and made great recommendations. The bread pudding was to die for, it needs to permanently be on the menu! We are already planning on when we will be back next week to try out the craft cocktails, this place is that good! read more

You know, when you order a Reuben Sandwich, it should be toasted rye bread, heaps of corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing. No experimental additions. The place is huge and nice, we arrive at 3:00 p.m. and were probably just like 6 tables occupied however most of the empty tables were dirty. The waitress took us to one of those dirty tables without any explanation, the food was just ok, my poke bowl small and pricy. We need to grab utensils ourselves from another table because the waitress didn't bring them. Our first time to the Thirsty Lion. Heard the service was slow....well they must have fixed that! The place was busy but we were seated quickly and our server was around frequently. We did a hodge-podge of food just to try things out. The Spinach artichoke did was very well seasoned. The Scottish Eggs came highly recommend and now we know why, YUM. Being a huge pork fan, I had to try the pulled-pork slider and they didn't let use down. From beer-cheese soup, chicken pad-thai to craft burgers and steaks. She was very knowledgeable and made several recommendations after we talked about our preferences. She has the best attitude and such a wonderful personality!! Ask for her the next time you visit. My husband and I decided to try the place out this afternoon. Figured something new, why not. Tried the bacon wrapped prawns...these were tasty. I couldn't decide what I wanted for lunch and asked the server for recommendations...he returned with our water and quickly did I'll be back I have to use the restroom. (This was weird to me.)Anyways, I had the Falafel Salad on the spring menu. It was decent but over dressed. My husband had the Pepper Bacon Burger. Now this was a different experience than mine...the burger was burnt and had no flavor. The fries were over cooked and cold. I asked our server if he could bring over some new fries that weren't over cooked and over salted. I watched him go over to the kitchen and grab a metal bowl that was under the heat lamps and bring my husband these fries. In no way is it okay to precook fries and put them under a heat lamp. He asked him if the fries were any better...umm nope! Same fries! He says he will bring over some less 'crispy' fries. I continue watching him and he empties the metal bowl onto a plate and begins eating them. He went around the corner then came back to our table and took the second batch of fries he brought my husband then went around the corner and began eating those. It was a very weird experience.
