Great place tucked away w nice outdoor patio They are so friendly - what a great find

Kristal W.

There are coffee shops, and then there are places that make you want to linger. The Wild, tucked just across from Union Station in Denver's LoDo neighborhood, falls firmly into the second category. The space earns its name -- there's an energy here that feels deliberately curated without feeling forced. Natural light pours into a clean, well-appointed interior, and the walled patio out front is the kind of spot you claim early and defend all afternoon. The decor strikes a balance between warm and minimal: nothing generic, nothing overdone. The coffee program is serious. They source from Middle State Coffee, and it shows -- the espresso has backbone, not just volume. The carrot cake latte is the standout order: it delivers actual depth and warmth rather than a sugar rush dressed up as a seasonal drink. It tastes like someone in the kitchen actually thought about it. Staff were attentive without hovering -- the kind of service that's easy to take for granted until you notice it's missing somewhere else. The dual café-and-cocktail-lounge concept means The Wild works from morning through late evening, which gives it a versatility most coffee spots can't match. Best for solo work sessions, unhurried catch-ups, or a pre-game drink before a Union Station departure. It's one of those places worth the detour even when you don't have a specific reason to be in LoDo.

Happened to come across this adorable coffee, shop and bar while walking around. Had a great time sitting on the patio enjoying drinks and small bites. Great vibe. Wonderful espresso martini. Attentive service.

This is going to sound hyperbolic, but truly the best drinks I've ever had are at this spot. The classic espresso martini is perfect, and all the bartenders are magicians and create the most unbelievable drinks. The food, especially the baked Brie, is phenomenal. As if the food and drinks were not enough, Natty, one of the staff, is an absolute delight. I'll continue to come back just because I adore Natty!

My daughter recommended this place for a latte. If standing directly in front of Union Station, it's behind and to the left. Vines are good, quiet at 11:30 Monday morning. On Monday, it's Happy Hour all day! The young lady that seated me was very kind. She made me feel as I was at home!

4.5 stars. Took me a few years but finally made it to The Wild. I'm never by Union Station so one day when my friends wanted to check out the nearby holiday market, I suggested grabbing a drink here afterwards. We smushed together into a booth and ordered. The place is SO cute, and our waitress was super sweet. Same vibes as Hudson Hill and Lady Jane. I ordered the Lady Green (gin, strega, dry curacao, matcha, thyme, lemon, whey) mostly because of the gin + matcha combination, and it was a beautiful beverage! Interesting flavor. Standard $15 priced cocktail and totally worth checking it off my list. Not my favorite drink but would come back to try their coffee and other cocktails on the menu.

Great service and cold brew and their special coffee was super yummy too. Not too pricey and very cozy. Loved the outdoor area too if a bit warmer outside

Cool vibe, both indoors and outdoors. Pop inside in morning for your coffee/tea and pastry fix. Come back at night for your booze fix! It is a nice getaway from the busy and crowded parts of the area.

Cute little cafe located in a passthrough between two buildings across from Union Station. There's a small outdoor section with tables to enjoy the sun that you pass through to enter this cafe. I just came here for a cappuccino but they also serve food and cocktails later in the day. The cappuccino was expertly crafted and the almond croissant was tasty. Happy Hour between 4-6 looks pretty good with many cocktails around $8-9.

Lemon lavender poppy latte is seasonal and one of the most delicious unique lattes I've tasted. I really enjoyed the flavor combination and it worked so well with the espresso and oat milk (substituted - standard is whole milk). I also ordered a regular latte (oat milk) so I could taste the coffee itself. It's pretty good, but not one of the best I've had. Whichever use milk they use is superior though. Really smooth and doesn't taste thick or oily. The ambiance is nice. Clean spaces, air conditioned, some nice plant decor. The service is super kind and welcoming. Multiple people served us and check in on us. They clean tables quickly too! The music is loud though! I would not be able to take a work call here. I would come back for sure. Their cocktails sound really good!

This was a nice bar. Super trendy decor and friendly people. My friend had the palm beach drink. She really liked it and it was so cute. I had the basic intentions drink. I loved the toasted marshmallow on top. The chai flavor was really delicious as well. Would definitely recommend for a cute spot for some nice cocktails.

I was a really big fan of the wild! It's right across the street from union station so if you're already downtown there you can easily pay a visit. The menu has both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks so there's something fun you can find. It doesn't look particularly fancy from outside but the vibe inside is a little more upscale/trendy. The servers were all really helpful and friendly, and I really enjoyed my drinks (the paper star, and the guava goose). My friend got the hot cider and hot chocolate both of which I tried - they're thicker drinks for sure but nice when it's cold (which it really was). Parking is a bit annoying, all the street parking is paid and you have to download an app, so that kind of blows but it is cheap (or just take public transport to union station!). It's close to a lot of cool places and restaurants too so you could easily go out to dinner at a nice place (eg Bruto) then come here after for a drink. Overall really solid bar - I would definitely come again but probably try public transport next time!

What a great spot located in an unassuming building down in the union station area. I loved the vibe and the modern decor. Great place to study or chat with friends. I know it is hard to choose a local coffee shop in the area because there are so many to choose from, but this one is definitely worth the visit. I had an iced mocha and was super impressed.

Unfortunately, they stop serving coffee at 6pm. I felt a bit misled by the all-day menu posted on their website. Nevertheless, the staff were kind, and they still had some good kombucha available. The decor of this place is gorgeous, and it's a lovely place to hang out. I will come back in the morning another day (and probably for drinks with friends another evening.) read more

First things first - the cocktails at the wild cannot be beat in Denver/Boulder (we've tried). They are delicious, unique and perfectly suited for the time of year you visit. The menu changes fairly often and never disappoints. The service is 5 stars, super friendly and knowledgeable staff/bartender. James is a great guy who is super friendly and obviously a cocktail wizard. The limited food offerings are really great, but mostly for snacking or having a bite if you've got some time before dinner. Ambiance is wonderful. We usually sit at the bar so we can chat with the staff or just enjoy the beautiful bar. Last but not least, the coffee. It's great, but admirably we're mostly here on a Friday/Saturday night so we visit for the cocktails. read more

We stopped here twice during our visit to Denver, once for happy hour and a second time for an after dinner drink. They have a wide selection of classic drinks as well as some unique cocktails! There was live music when we went on Saturday night, they have a very cute outdoor space that is a good oasis from the crazy crowds of Union Station. read more

Loved this place! Great coffee and cocktails! This place is close to union station and can be easy to miss since it's located at the back of a building. Loved the decor and definitely would come back again if we are in town. They made me an espresso tonic even tho it wasn't on the menu. Our waitress was great and attentive. They also have a happy hour menu for anyone who is around the area at 4pm. Props to whoever designed and put this cafe/bar together! read more

Came to Denver for a quick weekend trip with some friends and was lucky to find this gem. There were not that many cocktail bars in the area that were open in the morning/afternoon. The Wild has cocktails from boozy to light and refreshing, they are also a full coffee and tea shop. But what stood out the most was their whiskey selection. They had a great selection of unicorn pours, at reasonable prices. If you love whiskey and are in search for some special pours, this is the place to be. I was lucky enough to chop it up with their bar manager James and he let me know of some bottles that were not listed. I highly recommend this place, all the employees were friendly and helpful. If I lived in Denver I would definitely be a regular at the Wild. read more

Great place to chill out and have a couple actual nice drinks. I like that it's fairly hidden so not too loud feels very private. Service was great. My only complaint is that WHY DOES EVERY coffee shop/ bar that also serves coffee stop brewing fresh coffee/ espresso early evening. Would be the perfect spot to get a nice americano after a few drinks and continue on my evening. We were told the coffee / espresso machine was cleaned and turned off for the day and it was 5pm when the bar doesn't close till 11 pm. With that being said I left home to make my own coffee because I refuse to drink cheap and overpriced Starbucks lol. read more

Well in my 25 years of being legal I have never been kicked out of a bar (added it was 2 pm and the place was empty) . A waiter dropped off one of our parties drinks and as the rest proceeded to order he said we offended his coworker and that he brought our check and we were no longer welcome. Nothing we said was offensive. Our waitress told us she was from Mexico and I replied I was thinking maybe Guatemala as we have a friend from there and she reminded me of him. Another person said that she was rocking her glasses. So if that's offensive then ‍.We have been all over Denver and have had the most amazing experiences. Except for here. read more

Really, really, really terrible service. Seated for over 30 min and were never served a single thing. We sat for 10 minutes without any acknowledgment at all. I had to go in and ask for someone to come take our order, which they finally did. Simple order of 2 drinks and some bread & butter. Then, we waited another 20-25 minutes. Nothing. All the tables around us received the drinks they ordered after us, but no one brought us anything or even said a word to us. Just as we were about to just leave, the waiter finally came back and said they were out of some ingredient for one of our drinks but they figured it out and it would be right out. We waited another 5 minutes, still nothing - not even the bread and drink that they could have made (it was an old fashioned and I saw them bring at least one to another table while we were waiting). Horrible service, and the whole thing was handled so, so poorly. Plenty of waiters covering the small patio where we were seated. They're just inattentive and careless. We won't be back, and I'd recommend you go elsewhere. read more

Wow! What an absolute gem hidden in the hustle and bustle of downtown Denver. We stopped by here for a couple quick cocktails before the Avs game (GO AVS) and were definitely pleasantly surprised. We are always looking for a great cocktail bar with a cozy, warm and welcoming atmosphere and The Wild did not disappoint. While we did not try any of the food or charcuterie boards (which looked delicious BTW) the cocktails were absolutely delicious and we could not stop at just one. On a random note, sitting at the bar we observed that the staff is a well oiled machine, everyone knew what they were tasked with and all seemed to be in the right place at the right time. Looking forward to returning when we have more time to enjoy the food as well. read more

What a pleasant little gem! First time here, and it was a short morning walk from my hotel, Indigo. It's directly across from Union Station, but hidden between two buildings, so away from the burgeoning Sunday activity. I had a seasonal fall cappuccino, recommended by the barista, and their yogurt-granola bowl, which they served with fresh blueberries and a dollop of marmalade. Both were delicious, and the yogurt incredibly creamy! Just as nice, was having it alfresco out on their cool-vibe patio - an urban garden oasis. I'll definitely come back. As well, to try it in the evening for their cocktails. read more

Bedlam was recommended to us for late night drinks by staff working in one of the restaurants at our hotel. During our short stay in Denver, we went to Bedlam twice. The first time was around 11:30 on a Thursday night. We had a few cocktails along with a cheese and charcuterie plate. The second time was around 12:30 on a Saturday night when we came in for a night cap. The first time we came in, it wasn't too busy, and we were encouraged to sit wherever we wanted. The bar was full so we chose a small table. Our server gave us menus, though specials were written on a chalkboard above the bar. We each tired a couple of cocktails and had a shot called the Master Shot. We also chose the make-your-own charcuterie board. Our favorite drink was the Woo Girl, which allowed us to choose our spirit of choice. I chose gin and my friend chose tequila. When we returned a couple of nights later, we knew already we were going to order the Woo Girl cocktail. It was packed on a Saturday night, but there was a small table in back where they seated us. This bar is more for spending time with the friends you come with, rather than mingling, as staff seats you at a table. It doesn't seem like they offer standing room or just squeezing in, though maybe we just didn't experience that. I've been on a mission to try as many espresso martinis in Denver as I can, and this one is currently at the top of my list. If you're an espresso martini fan, this is definitely one I'd recommend trying. As a plus, the red/dark lighting adds such a fun ambiance and they have pool tables and a newly added vintage Photo Booth! The food is also SO good considering this is a cocktail bar. Don't skip the lobster :) Good service too!! I wish I remembered the name of the server I always have, she's the best!

That's when I came across Dearly Departed and I'm so glad I did. We arrived right when they opened at 5pm and were able to walk in and be seated immediately. The speakeasy is tucked into the underground portion of the restaurant, which adds to the charm. The space is beautifully decorated, moody, intimate, and effortlessly upscale. It truly sets the tone the moment you walk down. We ordered two spritzes and a charcuterie board, and both exceeded expectations. The drinks were refreshing, perfectly balanced, and felt elevated without being overcomplicated. But the real star was the charcuterie board. For $20, it was an incredible value, stacked with a variety of meats, cheeses, fresh veggies, nuts, and peppers. The freshly grilled bread was a standout touch, and the portions were more than generous. Every bite felt thoughtfully curated, and there was something new and delicious in every corner of the board. Between the ambiance, the quality of the drinks, and the impressive food, Dearly Departed delivered an experience that felt both cozy and refined. I'd absolutely recommend checking it out for the atmosphere alone. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying more from their menu.

RUDE staff. Bartender (white guy, short brown hair, glasses, tattoos on his arm) was obnoxious and complete jerk to customers. He definitely did not want to be there. I could tell he was aggressive and unfriendly the moment I walked in. It really came out when I tried to sit at a table (it was essentially empty inside) and he yelled at me saying I couldn't sit at a table because more people "might" come in. Again, the bar inside was literally empty -- it's 6:30pm on Monday 8/2/21. Then when we asked this bartender if he could lower the music volume a bit, he got into an argument with us about it (what the heck??). Again, we were essentially the only customers inside the bar -- he had no other customers to help. I have a feeling that this bartender was also racist at minimum. This bartender made the place hostile, so we left at that moment. We won't be coming back and you can bet I will be posting this review to multiple platforms. read more

I tried the Cowfolk Combo, which is a small drip coffee with the Hungry, Hungry Cowfolk sandwich. The coffee was from Middle State roasters and their Kenya varietal. It was nice and probably a light roast. The sandwich comes on the softest homemade Kaiser roll stuffed with fried egg, bacon (smoky and sweet), american cheese, tomato jam, aioli, hashbrown. The tomato jam ate a bit sweet and hashbrown not the crispiest but serviceable. The other sandwich we tried was the Hangover Hoagie with perfectly fried chicken cutlet, smoked provolone, chopped olives, house red sauce and caesar salad on a homemade hoagie bun. Hell yes to the HH! Messy in the best way where all the ingredients work together in harmony. The hoagie is crunchy and soft at the same time. What a triumph of flavor. The last thing tried was a poptart. Flaky, crunchy and sweet it was very good. The seating is varied from a church bench to chairs surrounded by old tvs. The bar area was roped off. We got lucky there wasn't a huge line (or anyone in VL) when we were there. It appears they get busy quickly. The barista and staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back for other food and possibly drinks in the PM.

I woke up at 11 which was a major shock but just on point with sugarlands "it happens" which is my walk in walk out song recently. except i woke up late about 3 hours and I dont work fridays. I also wore matching shoes so thats a win. Anyway I was just going to go across the street from home to get a biscuit which is a 5-7 min ordeal. Lately I've just been focusing on sitting in a blanket and cutting up magazines so I haven't been outside in days. When I went to open the door of my building to the sidewalk, there was a man walking a huge black dog with a muzzle on it. I act weird around dogs due to a traumatic childhood event so when that doggy turned around and wanted to interact with me, I wasn't about to find out if we were gonna be friends. I backed tf up and walked the other way. I thought I'd just go around the block, but halfway around the block I realized this would be potentially the way the man and the dog were going, and sure enough i think about turning the corner but no, direction denied because there they are coming right toward me. So I kept going straight, and it was really hot, and then I almost got hit by a car at a 4 way stop which honestly felt sorta like a prank but I just focused on jumping out of the intersection and then I went that way. I ended up walking along alameda (not the best choice) and then crossing it at Logan (fine) and then I saw some signs: LOCAL COFFEE ESPRESSO DRINKS WINE BEER COCKTAILS EVENTS LIVE MUSIC SMALL BITES HAPPY HOUR ROTATING ART NEON COWBOY. I was like god this sounds like everything I need right now. I wasn't totally sure if the door was the entrance which says nothing about this neon cowboy I just don't usually know what's going on. I was feeling like a skittish rat and I pressed the door and it opened and then I was inside. The barista said something like "what's going on today" and I said "good." And then I said wait that's not what you said. He said it's okay I know what you meant. How are you? I said I'm hot and sweaty it's hot outside. He was like yeah it is. And then he asked what I wanted and I said I know I want an iced americano. I read their little menu at supersonic speed and went with the breakfast sando with sausage. Plus a blueberry muffin. And then the ultimate question: for here or to go? I said for here. My body did it for me because it was so f%#*n hot outside and I was like I need to sit down. It's my first time dining solo although this place is a coffee shop with WFH energy so im not sure if it counts. I didn't have my laptop though just my self. I signed up for rewards. I felt like it was my first day on earth this entire walk here and choosing a table felt no different. At least they were playing that song "there she goes, there she goes again" so I was like yeah everything's fine. I sat down for 5 seconds and then FRANKIE it was time to get my iced americano. One sip and I knew it was 5 stars. And then the man brought my breakfast sando. It was huge like hilarious XX large. I thought god here we go this is really an all in endeavor isn't it, it looked really good though. And it was. 5 stars. Haven't had the muffin yet because I've been sitting here writing this plus I just ate the monster sando. Fast forward I sat here until me and what was left of my sandwich got cold. Shoved my muffin in my purse and hit the pavement again. Thank you neon cowboy, I guess you were my destiny today. god only knows whats next. Xoxoxoxo Frankie.
