The food we ordered came out completely wrong. The steaks were raw. When we asked for them to be cooked longer, they seemed put out by our request. This is our second visit, and unfortunately the last. My wife ordered Brussels sprouts that tasted old with a burnt seasoning flavor, along with chicken enchiladas that seemed okay at the time. Hours later, she became severely ill and bedridden with symptoms consistent with food poisoning--likely from the sprouts or chicken. She is so sick that she may need medical attention if her symptoms don't improve soon. I tried the daily special: a "shaved ribeye cheesesteak-style" sandwich. It arrived with chunky meat (not shaved), an odd lime taste, and didn't match the description at all. I sent it back due to the weird flavor and poor preparation, but no manager ever came to the table to address the issue or apologize--they clearly don't care about customer concerns. The fries were cold and stale. Our waters came without ice, and the server only returned to drop the check--no check-ins during the meal. Overall, the food quality was poor, the service was inattentive and unresponsive, and the lack of management involvement was disappointing. Due to the severity of my wife's illness, I am filing a complaint with the health department for an inspection. Would not recommend or return. read more

This spot was poppin'! We rolled up without a reservation like rebels, only to find the place packed inside and out. The wait inside was 45 minutes..yeah, no thanks--so we grabbed a patio table. They had misters going, which helped, but my friend and I still ended up with that light "glisten". Totally worth it though. We kicked things off with espresso martinis--dangerously good, like I could make questionable decisions after one of these good. We've tried to go here a handful of times. Service is slow. They act like they're doing you a favor by acknowledging you. We love the ambiance and wish this place had a better menu. It's so close to home, but we literally don't want anything they offer. So we haven't been back since our 2nd visit. (We gave them two tries and still weren't eager to return). Nothing was notable, including the wine menu. They mentioned that there would be a new menu soon, but we looked online and weren't interested. We'd rather drive 20 mins or more for great food. It was nearly empty both times we visited for dinner so maybe their breakfast or brunch is the best time to go? Only commenting in hopes that they will change their menu. Today I was in a lousy mood when I entered and then we got there too late for the brunch menu and I had my heart set on avocado toast. Our waitress Kathy went out of her way to see if they could make an exception just so I could have what I really wanted. I don't know what she said to the cook and the manager but she worked her magic and I got what I wanted. Her service all around was outstanding. We came here for a birthday dinner. There were 5 of us. The ambiance was a 10/10. Our server was very nice. The food was just ok in my opinion. One of our dishes came out completely different than the menu described and they brought out a birthday dessert (I'm assuming because we put birthday on our reservation) and then I noticed we were charged for the dessert. I didn't say anything, didn't feel like hunting down our server to correct the day. Not a huge deal. We went for lunch and sat on the patio. First time visiting. We both had the Asian salad and wow!!! It is very rare that on the first bite you get an explosion of flavors. Loaded with sliced chicken breast too which is also rare. We will definitely return to try some other things. read more

The Vig was a true joy. The service was on point with staff checking in on us the right amount of times. Cocktails were bright and fun. Starters were tasty and great for sharing. Sitting at the bar at the Vig, and it's a great bar! Nice size, bar tenders (note, not bar keeps, not one of them is "personable") have room to work, fair selection of cocktails, even Espresso Martini on draft (a little too sweet for my taste). All the makings for a successful bar. Down side? Yep...closes at 10pm. Maybe it's the location and license issue, but seriously, 10pm? This place could be SO successful if well marketed, and a Saturday night DJ. There's even room for a dance floor. So much potential here. BTW, The food menu is simple and (we didn't eat) looked good. Oh, and an amazing patio, going to be fabulous in the winter. We will come back, and bring friends, but please, do some advertising, make some changes, this could be such a great location! Unfortunately, the two girls behind the bar the personality of a rock and their service was much to be desired. Our family went for lunch the first week the Vig opened. We had a great time. The atmosphere was modern and comfortable. We ordered several things on the menu and all were good. (Chili garlic edamame, noble pretzel, wagyu burger, Chilean salmon, poblano enchiladas, cheesesteak, wedge salad (too much dressing for me) BUT the absolute best was the desserts! We had bread pudding, cheesecake and the apple pie (the bomb)! They have a great happy hour and lunch specials too. Many thanks to our server, Aubrey, for being so friendly, professional and quick to know what we needed even before we did! I'll ask for her the next time we come in. This place gets busy at night so try to make reservations, but lunch is usually quicker to be seated. Definitely recommend! read more

Let's just start by saying you really should never expect a restaurant to hit a home run the first opening night. You have new people working together in front of house and back a lot could go wrong. However, a lot went right last night! They did an amazing job! They had a ton of managers on which probably helped but the service was great. The food was even better! We ordered drinks, the onion dip and chips for an app, steak and frites and enchiladas! I couldnt decide what we loved more! That onion dip was so on point but the steak was cooked perfect medium and melted in your mouth! That enchilada sauce is something I have never had before and we just couldnt get enough! Will definitely be returning to The Vig!!! Food was delicious and the atmosphere was very chill. All staff was friendly and attentive. Our server was Kathy who we loved! She had great recommendations for drinks and food. We had the spicy tuna appetizer and chips with their homemade salsas and guacamole. The spicy tuna is really good flavor and texture wise just wish it was a little bit spicier but that's my preference. My son had the chicken rigatoni pesto which was best pesto pasta we've ever had. My youngest got chicken tenders and french fries. Husband had the ribeye cheese steak sandwich and I had the salmon. We all were extremely satisfied. Ate here for the first time yesterday even though we are regulars at the McCormick Ranch location. I must say, the Dana Park location is far superior to my local Vig. The food was terrific - they need to send someone to McCormick to fix the food. The service was much better too - very friendly, no "attitude" at all.
