The food is delicious. The service is great . However the only negative is the music is too loud. It's so loud you can't hear the person you are dinning with or enjoy your time inside. Outside looks nice but it's summer in AZ so sitting indoors is what we came for. The mango margarita is delicious but the ambience is ruined but the loud music. read more

Honestly, the Vig is the only spot that my husband and I are at on a multi week out to dinner/lunch or brunch spot. It is consistently really good food. We went tonight for my husband's birthday & he is not a dessert guy. They brought us out a butterscotch bread pudding... my husband said that it was probably the second favorite dessert he has ever had in his life! read more

It's hard to believe this used to be Union Jack, it looks completely different than before! Total renovation and done so well. The doors were closed to the indoor-outdoor seating area, understandably as it is too hot outside to open them, but that will be a nice option in good weather! Comfortably modern interior and good menu choices. We sat at the bar and had great service! We ordered the wings (sweet chili) and the nachos. The wings were flavorful and done perfectly. The nachos were good and visually appealing, but not the best I've had. Overall a good dining experience and a nice addition to Dana park! read more

The Vig - Nachos, no meat - American Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

I've been back to The Vig Dana Park a few times since they opened, and while the location and menu have great potential, the service continues to be pretty mediocre. On a prior lunch visit I really enjoyed the Asian Chicken Salad--since it's something I wouldn't usually make at home, I decided to order it again. Unfortunately, this time the experience was very different. The chicken was mostly hidden at the bottom of the plate in clumps (at least there was some--always a plus in this economy!), but the real issue was the dressing. The salad was completely drenched, which made it tough to enjoy. I get that balance is hard with a dish like this, but this time they really missed the mark. It's not something I'd order again. I truly hope management takes guest feedback to heart, because this spot has so much going for it with its location and menu variety. With a few improvements to consistency and service, it could be a real neighborhood gem. read more

The Vig does not disappoint. I had their breakfast enchiladas and a Vigchelada, both were on point, full of flavor, and hit the spot. The staff is awesome, they are super friendly and welcoming. The vibe is chill but lively, and the place just feels good to be in. Love the decor and the choices they made, this spot is great to hangout with friends or chill at the bar watching sports. read more

We've been here a handful of times now and the experience has been pretty consistent. Great happy hour, delicious drinks, ambiance is nice, but most importantly the service is 10/10. We've had their chilaquilles brunch, calamari, happy hr: nachos (with and without added protein), and sliders (classic and bbq). Some items are better than others but overall, pretty good all around. Everyone from the host, to the servers (especially the servers), to the bartenders--they have always been so friendly and pleasant. Last we went, Elaina (Elena?Alaina?) took care of us and what a delight she was. Attentive, super friendly, and was such a sweetheart despite how busy it was. read more

We had a late lunch. Service was very good. The place was rather noisy, due to music from the speakers. There are several options on where to sit, which was nice. Our party had the oriental chicken salad, Turkey club sandwich, sweet potato fries, and Caesar salad with added salmon. Everything very good but the salmon was room temperature, which I didn't expect, and the salad slightly wilted, also a surprise. I did appreciate the fried parmesan cheese garnish. With so many options for restaurants, I would probably try another than go right back. read more

Great atmosphere! Place was lively. Met friend for dinner and happened to also be happy hour. Had great selections. We got the Parmesan Truffle Fries to start with and then Steak and Frites. The fries had a great flavor but came out a bit cold. The Steak was tender and perfectly cooked. The chimichurri sauce was awesome but very spicy! Definitely great place for happy hour. read more

Love the patio! We have been wanting to try the new vig in the East Valley. Really good service great cocktails I have the blueberry haze and the lavender haze. There's also a good hibiscus cocktail which I've had in the past. on Valentine's Day, I was surprised they weren't having to deal with a weight I think because they're so new people don't know who they're there yet. I had the salmon which was wonderful. It was served with brussels sprouts and sweet potato crisps. There was also a potato fluff of salt underneath the salmon. Very good Had a little bit of pomegranate and chili glaze. My husband had the steak and frites which he liked. The fries have some type of truffle seasoning on top which made it a great treat on the pallet. Only disappointment was they don't have coffee in the evenings to go with your Dessert. read more

I'm so glad this place has moved into my neighborhood!! We went tonight to celebrate my birthday and had the most wonderful experience. Most impressive was the bartending staff. Mason was on point with all aspects of service, he was attentive, welcoming, and really made us feel at home. I was also impressed with the new bartender whose name I didn't catch but it was her first night and I would have never known unless she told me. She was friendly personable and slinging drinks like she'd been there for a while. Great job to both of them! As for the food, it was phenomenal as expected but a special call out needs to be made for the butterscotch bread pudding. It was complementary for my birthday and I probably would have never tried it before but it turned out to be the best bread pudding I've had in ages. So tender and sweet delicious!! 5 stars. Highly recommend! read more

This place is SO CUTE. I can't wait to come back when it is warm. I got the turkey club and sweet potato fries and it was delicious. Our server was so incredibly kind. We had a fun girls' night at The VIG's new Dana Park location. The space is beautiful, with a modern, upbeat vibe--great for catching up and hanging out. I split a bottle of Candoni Pinot Grigio and the staff was kind enough to bring us an ice bucket to keep it cold--really appreciated that. Two of my friends ordered the $6 margaritas and martini with $3 upgrade, they loved them--great happy hour value! For food, I got the steak frites with truffle fries and broccolini. One friend also ordered steak but swapped her fries for a salad to keep it gluten-free. Another had the Philly cheesesteak, and the last one ordered the turkey club--both came with truffle fries, and one of them was smart enough to ask for ranch. I wish I had asked for ranch or A1 sauce for my meal, but unfortunately, our server didn't check in until after I had already finished eating. I waited a while hoping to ask, but my food got cold by then, which was disappointing. Despite that, the atmosphere was fun and lively. The space is great, the drinks were solid, and the food was good overall--just wish the service had been a little more attentive. read more

Okay I have been to the Vig in Phoenix several times and loved it but haven't been in a number of years. I have been eagerly awaiting this location in Dana Park. Two girlfriends and I met for happy hour at 4:15- the place was packed! It was gorgeous, dark, and moody inside but also very loud! We took a table on the large comfy patio because there were lots of misters. Let me pause a moment to say that the misters were bothersome to my friends- they're like turbo misters! But today was extremely humid so I think on a normal day, they would be more appreciated. That being said, they have a wonderful happy hour menu and if we had stayed for dinner- that menu looked epic as well. We had two drinks from the happy hour menu and two not on the menu- they were all unique and delicious. We had the onion dip with house made chips which unfortunately got kind of soggy from the misters but they were very tasty and the dip with a bit of balsamic was very good. We also had the edamame and it was a huge portion! We also had the Noble pretzel which was good, too but the cheese "sauce" was very runny. So although there were a couple of small issues, I would definitely come back and I was happy to see it so busy because we want to keep good restaurants in business! read more

Good food and service! Happy hour is a good value. Very clean and vibey, great for a quick drink with friends or lunch.

Great food but very rude female bartender on Sunday, August 23rd. I had the breakfast sandwich which was delicious as well as great tasting iced tea. The seating is limited inside and the crowd was so loud we couldn't hear each other but besides that overall I would return. It does seem more focused on the alcoholic beverages rather than food. read more

I don't ever leave bad reviews but sort of disappointed in this place today. Looks wise 10/10 but the vibe was 0/10. We sat at the bar, food was decent but the lack of attention was pretty bad. I get that they were probably in shift change but there was more conversation around who was rooting for what team then care for the customers. Saw the bartender do two shakes for a martini and quite frankly my martini was room temperature. Thought it was maybe a glass right out of the dishwasher but the second one was just as warm. Sandwich took 35 minutes to come out but was decent. I mean not sure I would come back to this place honestly. read more

An awesome addition to the area! The location looks gorgeous. Clean interior. Awesome patio space. We ordered crispy rice tuna, Vig burger, and Asian chicken salad. We met my son and DIL for brunch to celebrate his bday. Seated outside at a circular booth which was awkward for a party of 4. Asian chicken salad was full of limp greens and overdressed. Spicy chicken sandwich came with white bbq sauce on sandwich despite assurances from server that it was always served on the side. Turned the bottom bun to mush. Honey spilled all over plate making eating a sloppy mess. Roughly half the chicken inedible due to grisly pieces. Chicken breast wasn't trimmed or tenderized. Side salad in little ramekin was arugula a a couple cherry tomato halves. Should be sold as "arugula salad, not a side salad. At least dessert was brought for son's bday, which was bread pudding. Very good. Guitarist outside was great--good music and not too loud. I wish their food was as good as the big in Arcadia. UPDATE: GM responded very promptly and appropriately to my review. I really appreciate not getting a "canned" response. Bumped review up to 3 stars based on this interaction. Will be giving them another try. read more

Yesterday was our first time visiting The Vig at Dana Park and while there were some positives there where a few negatives as well. First, we were greeted with a smile and welcomed by the hostess. We were there to check out the place for the first time and have a couple drinks and maybe an appetizer as well. So, we decided to sit at the bar however we had to abandoned that plan and instead ask to be seated outside as the inside smelled of fish; I don't mean a pleasant mild smell I mean an eye watering overwhelming smell. After getting our outside table we waited a bit for service but it wasn't too long. Our server was friendly and gave off a great vibe, we ordered some drinks and a pretzel, no ordinary pretzel mind you, it was from Noble Bread and it was fantastic! I'd highly recommend it however it had it's draw backs to be sure, first it didn't come with the house mustard only the queso dip. Interlude before I dive into the "Queso Dip" because this is when service seemed to stop, normally if food is delivered by someone other than our main server we'd normally expect a visit to see if we needed anything and to see if the food was ok, because if that had happened we would have mentioned we didn't get the house mustard and by the time we did get checked on the pretzel was 90% gone. OK, back to the so called "Queso Dip" it should be listed on the menu as "warm white tasteless sauce" as I've tasted better queso at... I was going to say Chili's but the truth is I could say everywhere as I've never had worse queso dip ever! So, as good as the Nobel pretzel was go with the house mustard and keep in mind, I'm recommending that without even tasting it!! Back to a couple more positives, our server was receptive to our concerns of the dip and said she'd pass it along to management. The patio is also fabulous with music at the right volume level so, everyone can have a conversation with out yelling and there are some TV's muted showing current sports game, we appreciated that as well. We'd like to give it a second chance but, I'm afraid we'll more than likely not even remember to go back as we stop at Chili's or anywhere else for that matter for real queso dip. read more

I've been twice now, once during lunch and once during dinner. For lunch, the restaurant was pretty empty, yet the food took forever to come out. I got the genuine burger and it was delicious!! When I came back for dinner, I got the steak frites, and that too was so yummy! Much faster service as well. Overall, the customer service is absolutely amazing from both the hostesses and our waiters. This is a very cute spot that's perfect for girls night/date night, and the food is delicious! Also, they have a great patio that will be perfect for this fall!! read more

A bright and shiny new location on the East Valley! The Vig is a standout Valley staple and I am so happy to have a location in my own backyard! Went on opening night and later the next week and they were definitely popping ! The food here is always delicious and they even have a neighborhood menu with offerings unique to the Mesa location-my favorites were the lamb meatballs and the tempura mushrooms (yum!) They have great drink deals including $6 Tito's drinks, house margaritas and espresso martinis along with weekend bottomless brunch! Service was friendly and attentive! I definitely recommend making a reservation online which was very easy and seamless! read more

Recently opened chain venue in Val Vista area. The first impression indicated a touch of an upscale sports bar. The place was packed during Sunday noon - which is oftentimes a great sign of popularity and thus quality. We waited for around 30 minutes or so, and were seated at a high table. Realizing the waitresses were rather busy - in fact, occasionally even running to serve folks - we knew that the order would take some time. Very friendly service we had - five stars for that - but even we knew it was peak hour, we started to wonder if it was a wise move to enter as our order's wait time was getting unpleasently long. Upon receiving my vig burger, the doubt was gone; the patty prepared to a perfect medium well was delicious, and the incredients complemented the wholiness nicely. Also, the side, sweet potato fries, were tasty and crispy. Our other item, turkey sandwich, was slightly disappointing, though, especially after such a long waiting. Nothing wrong with it (except for the tomato slices with that hard, unpleasant-to-eat part), but if you can basically assemble the same by piling regular supermarket items, it kind of did not make too much sense to order here. This place is vivid, with plenty of energy, clients discussing enthusiastically while there is rather loud music playing in background, but at the same time, it was a bit hard to have conversation as the wall materials fortified the noise substantially. Perhaps, when it gets a bit cooler outside, the patio would be a good option, or selecting off-peak hour other than the weekend noon's brunch time as the menu was quite limited. All in all, simply for such a friendly service and great burger, I would definitely come back to test out some of the interesting-looking items that were not available this time. read more

Great new place in town. They have some awesome lunch and happy hour specials. We went for lunch and the place was quite open. Really nice outdoor space for when it's nice again outside. Our waiter explained that each location has some special food only available at that location. This location and vehicle and lamb meatballs. They also have some great deals. For lunch I tried a burger and soda for 15 and it came with a side!! Decent side and the best part was it only cost a dollar extra for a gluten free bun! My husband tried the pozole and paid extra for some chips with it. Both were quite good. We also got espresso martinis at a steal for 6 dollars each and they were strong! We also hsd the truffle fries that came with a delicous dipping sauce. Will definetly check it out again for a lunch special or happy hour. read more

We absolutely loved our dinner tonight at The Vigs new location at Dana Park. Short wait with a reservation on a Wednesday but the restaurant was packed and good for them, that's how it should be! The hosts were very welcoming and our server Aubrey was incredible from start to finish, she did not miss a beat. We posted some pics below of drinks and apps, dinner got devoured immediately, I didn't stand a chance lol! My teenager raved on the way home about this Hibiscus Soda and their crab cakes, i barely got a bite, Ceviche was phenomenal and lamb meatballs! Omgggg I would have ordered another! Our littles ordered their kids sliders and said we must come back for these, what kid normally says this?!? This place is huge on the inside & has a large outdoor dining area as well. They brought water. No ice. Seemed odd. We started with the nachos. Was a meal unto itself.
