Chicken tacos

The food was good. I had the enchiladas and the tuna bites appetizer. The tuna bites were so big and hard to eat in one bite. But tasty. The enchiladas were tasty.

Wow, I thought The Vig was very impressive! It's such a lovely restaurant with it wood features and sort of a moody vibe. The bar in the center of the restaurant is gorgeous. The food was beautifully presented. The service was amazing. It felt very upscale but casual at the same time. We were there at brunch time and it was fairly busy, but the service was quick. Honestly, I cannot wait to go back to this restaurant again next time I'm in town.

I have to update my review. We have been to the Vig 8-9 times (lunch, dinner, happy hour). Every time we go whether I'm with my husband or friends, we always pray that no one sitting near us orders the fish. Is it their shrimp, salmon, tuna? I have no idea, but it absolutely reeks. The smell is so nauseating. I've never smelled such strong smelling fish in any seafood restaurant before. Please do something about this, The Vig.

It was my first time eating at The Vig! What an amazing experience!! Starting off with our Wonderful server, Elena!! From start to finish she did a stellar job taking care of us!! My friends enjoyed the Vig Bowl, and myself and my other friend had the Genuine cheeseburger and fries!! All was delicious and cooked to perfection!! All of our drinks were cold and mixed perfectly. We also loved the ambiance. We will definitely be back to this location!!

Cesar with bistro steak

This is the second time dinning at The Vig at Dana Park and tonight we sat out on the large patio. The patio has plenty of seats and has both misters and heating lamps making it possible to use year round We kicked things off with the pretzel served with queso and house mustard--perfect for sharing. The queso was rich without being too heavy, and the mustard added a nice contrast. For my meal, I had the Caesar salad topped with a bistro steak cooked a perfect medium rare. The romaine was crisp, the garlic-anchovy dressing bold, and the garlic croutons and parmesan tied everything together. The steak was tender, flavorful, and elevated the salad. At the table, we also ordered the cheesesteak with Angus beef, roasted peppers and onions, Havarti cheese, and garlic aioli served on a baguette, with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was hearty and satisfying, and the fries were really good The wagyu burger was another standout--topped bacon, Gruyère and smoky blue cheese, caramelized onions, tomato jam, and garlic aioli on a pub bun. The beef and bacon were fabulous and the fries cooked to perfection Jake, our server, was terrific--attentive, friendly, and helped make the whole experience even better. We finished with the butterscotch bread pudding topped with vanilla gelato and caramel sauce, which was the perfect ending--warm, comforting, and just the right amount of sweetness Overall, a great patio dining experience with flavorful dishes, excellent service, and plenty of variety.

Love the chill vibes and dim lighting, can be a bit of a romantic setting or casual dinning, good for small &larger parties. We were in for our gfs bday, sweet they offer a free bday desert for her! I ordered the spicy margarita it was on point, served in a small glass tho.. . For my entree I got the burger, I'd say it was pretty average, and couldn't decide between the sweet pot fry or reg fry, server told me I could do half n half, great! For those of us whom are indecisive! I would come back and I'll try something different this time! Service was great she made sure we had everything we needed and stayed on top of drinks and any necessities .

Truffle Parmesan fries $12

My husband wanted to watch the game somewhere and I wanted a great brunch, so I suggested The Vig! I've been to two other locations and enjoyed them, so I was excited to see one open in Mesa. We arrived just after 12 pm on a Saturday and though there were many diners, the restaurant was't super busy. We were greeted and seated right away. My husband requested to be seated near the bar with a great view of their TVs. We also had a great view of their beautiful patio. The space is stylish yet laid back. We ordered the following: Truffle Parmesan fries $12 Grilled chicken wings $18 Chilaquiles $18 I had the chilaquiles. Theirs comes with scrambled eggs, corn tortillas, white cheddar, braised pork, jalapeño crema, lettuce, and pico de gallo. However, I asked them to place the pork on the side. I'm not used to having a lot of lettuce in my chilaquiles, but it still was good. I've had better, though. I loved the truffle parmesan fries, who doesn't? My husband enjoyed his wings and the ambiance. Our server was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back again!

We stopped in for a family dinner on a busy Saturday night and were impressed to be seated and greeted immediately. The service was efficient throughout the evening; our water stayed filled and appetizers arrived quickly. While the salsa and guacamole were a bit under-seasoned, the cauliflower appetizer was delicious (though the portion felt small for the price). We appreciated that the kitchen split our burger onto two plates for us. However, the cook was off--we requested medium-well, but the thick patties arrived medium with a lot of pink. Despite the minor food hiccups, the welcoming decor and beautiful patio make this a spot worth revisiting.

Pecan Pie - absolutely decadent

Recently visited for a lunch with friends, and luckily came in for Happy Hour! We both had little ones, and I was a little concerned when we were placed in a booth, but it worked out great for us. We had a great server, and let us stay in her section while we were there for hours catching up! Their happy Hour menu was great: I highly recommend their nachos and sliders! We also ordered pecan pie for desert and WOW - the filling was not skipped on at all. It was loaded with pecans and so good.

Asian chicken salad - just ok

We met some friends here for lunch that live in Queen Creek and it was the halfway point. We've been to the big in Arcadia and thought this place looked nice. We seated in the room behind the bar and there was also a party of 12 people in there as well, it was incredibly loud! We probably should have Requested to be moved since we were catching up with friends. It was very difficult to hear. I ordered the puzzle and my husband ordered the Asian chicken salad. He wasn't thrilled with the chicken salad as the chicken had the consistency of deli meat. My Pozole was OK, but it was severely lacking in protein and had very limited hominy as well. Maybe I've just gotten spoiled by what I get at Gallo Blanco or what I make at home It did have a decent level of heat though, and it was served hot. I had a glass of wine, a Pinot Grigio for $12 and husband had a beer, total bill was about $50 so it's a pricey lunch They do have a huge beautiful bar though, and this would probably be a great place for a happy hour with friends. Note that they do have some drink special specials on Sundays, which included a six dollar Margarita, which one person in our party enjoyed

This was our second visit here. Our first visit was based on several great recommendations from Go Gilbert. The first time, we had reservations, but I didn't leave a review because I wanted to come back for a second experience. This time, we didn't have reservations but were seated fairly quickly. We sat in the outdoor dining area, and it was lovely. The ambiance was perfect for both family dining and a casual date night. My husband order a sandwich and a salad, it was delish! I ordered the fish and chips -- the fish was delicious, though the "chips" were mostly small, broken pieces. I'm not sure if that was intentional, but it felt like we might have gotten the last few fries from the batch. Nevertheless, I really thought the fish was delicious! The location is great with plenty of parking spots. We will definitely be back!

Weekday burger lunch special: $15 included a soft drink. Great deal for a nice restaurant.

My friend chose to come here for her birthday lunch this week. I'd read a bunch of reviews the night before and grew nervous because many were less than stellar. I'm happy to report that we had a great experience here. Elena set the tone by welcoming us warmly and there was a birthday card on the table for my friend. I love that they offer a lunch specials menu M-F with several choices for $15. It includes the entrees plus a soft drink which is a great deal. We both chose the burger. Side options are fries, sweet potato fries or a salad. My burger was really delicious and cooked to order with a generous portion of fries. Elena also brought out a complimentary birthday dessert (Butterscotch Bread Pudding) for my friend. The restaurant itself is very attractive and well-appointed with a spacious patio out front. I plan to bring my husband back so he can check out The Vig too.

Wagyu Burger, Ribeye Cheesesteak.

First time here after several recommendations from my wife who's been here on a girls night. Warmly greeted and seated quickly. Cool, spacious interior, big comfy booth. Server went over some specials and took our drink order. Opted for the Old Fashioned and wife ordered the Strawberry Fields which consists of rum, strawberry puree, banana liquor, orgeat, and lemon juice. Old Fashioned was slightly too sweet for my tastes but I'm picky, still delicious and worth getting if you lean towards Old Fashioned's, sampled wifeys drink and it was super sweet but pretty much what you'd expect from the name, very tasty. I ordered the Wagyu burger, which was a 7oz wagyu party, bacon, Gruyère, blue cheese, caramelized onions, tomato jam, and garlic aioli. Wife went with the Ribeye Cheesteak which was exactly what the name implies. Burger was perfectly medium as I ordered and all components worked well together, juicy beef patty, salty bacon, umami cheese, smoky/funky blue cheese, a truly awesome burger with what appeared to be hand cut fries. The cheese steak was also amazing with actual shaved ribeye, cheese, peppers and onions on a crusty baguette. I was very impressed by the service the quality and the portions. Will definitely return to try other items on the menu.

Every time I visit, something else has been removed from the menu, prices continue to increase, and portion sizes seem to get smaller. On my most recent visit, the menu had been reduced to the point where there was very little left to choose from. I ordered a large portion of fried rice, which turned out to be barely more than a cup of rice. I also ordered the Hibachi Rakin' Shrimp Burrito, which used to be one of my favorites because it came with fried rice and the delicious Rakin' Shrimp. Unfortunately, this time it was mostly rice with very little flavor, and it was nowhere near the quality I remembered. It's disappointing to watch a place I've enjoyed for years change so much. Between the shrinking menu, rising prices, smaller portions, and declining food quality, I no longer feel I'm getting the value I once did. Sadly, after too many disappointing changes, I won't be returning.

We ordered 3 of the Steamed Buns: Pork Belly, Hot Chicken, and the Bun of the Moment, which happened to be Drunken Shrimp, I believe. I didn't taste the Hot Chicken, but the other two were super tasty!! Portions were great and every morsel was devoured. The Krazy Fries were damn delicious!! Packed full of flavor and very filling, it's a great dish to be shared. I can't pass up pork belly!! Lol I forgot what drink my friend ordered, but I had no shame and had the Pornstar Martini, yessir!!! It was quite comical when our server mentioned that most people are embarrassed to order it because of its name, but I proudly said it loud and clear! That drink was perfect for brunch/lunch! Overall it was a great visit, minus the twitching fly that was on our table after we were seated. We didn't know if it was half dead or what, but my friend just swiped it across the table until it fell off. I'm not sure they have any control over flies coming into the restaurant as people enter and exit, but it was off putting to have to shoo them away while you're having a meal and trying to converse. Other than that fly issue, the visit was solid. Prices aren't bad and there's a big parking lot outside the establishment as well as a public parking garage not far away. For myself, I was a bit different and left off the relish and sauce, but added sauteed onions. In case you didn't know, Zinburger got its name by sauteeing onions in zinfandel wine, and they still make them that way. The burger was excellent and was fairly smothered with wonderful onions. As part of the meal, we were also served french fries. Companion and I prefer our fries well done and crispy, and what we were brought were anything but that. A brief mention of it to our waitperson and they were immediately replaced with crunchy, crispy fries that were perfect. The meal also comes with a piece of pie that is to be shared.
