This was a really good experience. I've been to the Arcadia location and my experience was the same. Only giving 4 stars because I wanted a fish sandwich instead of fish and chips but the chef said no. I ordered a bun on the side and made it myself. Our server was great and made sure we had everything we needed.

I thought this place was nice, but nothing stood out as super amazing. I got the Mediterranean salad which our waiter said was a menu item exclusive to this location. I also added shrimp. I liked the amount of shrimp they gave, but I found the overall dish to be a bit salty. I'm not sure if it was the shrimp or the olives or the extreme amount of feta, but something was super salty. My friend ordered the pretzel with cheese and another friend ordered Mac n cheese. I tried a bit of both, and both cheeses kind of had a weird texture. A bit like the cheese sauce had broken? Also tasted slightly bland. Another negative was the flourless chocolate cake. This was a pass for me as it was bitter and a tough texture. In terms of positives it was my friends birthday and they do a free birthday dessert! It was the bread pudding. I really enjoyed this! Honestly my favorite bite of the night. Another highlight was the hibiscus gin spritz. I thought it tasted yummy and seemed like it had a good amount of alcohol. Lastly, the ambience and service was super great! Everyone was very nice and the place itself is very pretty. Overall I'm not sure I would choose to come here again, but I wouldn't mind if someone wanted to come here.

Shrimp Tacos

The lack of parking was very difficult for me. But that's probably out of the restaurant's control. The shrimp tacos were very yummy. The service was good overall but someone else in my party ordered chicken salad and there was no chicken in it, which was bizarre. There was a miscommunication which made it even more frustrating but they did remedy the problem for them. It's a very nice place, casual enough but good for a date as well.

I've been to the Vig 3 other times and always had a wonderful experience. This time was just meh, subpar. The positives: the food was hot and tasty. The burger and fries were delicious as were the steak frites. The wings were crispy but could've used more sauce. The patio is large and beautiful. However, we had some negatives going on this particular Saturday evening. First, we had reservations, and we showed up a few minutes early, but it still took them 20 minutes to seat us, despite the fact that it was not busy at all. Second and most disappointing, our server was not good. He was not attentive, took forever for him to take our order and bring our food, and we had to ask him numerous times to refill our water and soft drinks cause he never stopped by to check on us. With so many great choices out there, I'll go somewhere else next time with better service.

Harvest Salad

The Vig is a go to spot for my friend and I before concerts downtown! It is a nice vibe inside. Parking is easy and it is normally not too busy. We always start with chips and guac which are always a hit! I got the harvest salad with chicken for my entree. It was nice and fresh! Chicken was nothing special. Our server was not the most attentive with refilling our drinks but besides that did a good job! Not my ultimate fave but a solid spot.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at the Vig. Party of 23 dined here recently and the process from making a reservation to being seated, to ordering, to keeping tabs separated, to the food and service ...everything was excellent. We all had a variety of dishes from the stem frites, enchiladas, tacos, pasta...all were a hit. The apps were also enjoyed. Definitely recommend this restaurant...add to your rotation today!

The Vig is always a hit for a nice lunch. On today's visit we sat inside even though the patio is very inviting, it was a very hot summer day! We started with drinks, I had the blackberry smash, not too sweet, refreshing with bourbon and blackberry puree.. yum! They have a great lunch, happy hour and a regular menu. There is something for everyone. I had the Thai noodles.. sorta like pad Thai. Delicious and filling. Service was on point. I will definitely be back.

Chicken Sandwich + Side Salad (lunch special)

I had a colleague meeting me recently at the Arizona State University Downtown Campus, and we decided to go for a short walk to The Vig Fillmore for lunch a few weeks ago. We arrived and learned about the menu specials for lunch. We noted the starters, soups & greens, sandwiches, tacos, brunch options, entrees, dessert, kids meals, and many drink options. Since we were working, we stuck with the lunch specials that are available on weekdays from 11 AM to 3 PM for only $14. They included an entree (Genuine Burger, Chicken Sandwich & Side, Asian Chicken Salad, or Pozole) and drink. We both chose the Chicken Sandwich lunch specials. I got mine with a side salad and lemonade. They were delicious, a bit smaller than a typical dinner portion, but certainly something I'd consider again over lunch. The Vig Fillmore is in the historic part of Downtown Phoenix with a large, shaded patio along with some indoor rooms, too. As it was a record-breaking day when we were visiting, we opted to sit indoors. In addition to plenty of outdoor seating which is shaded and cool, there are limited seating right by the front door where we sat along with other indoor seating that I have yet to experience. The service we received was wonderful plus they weren't too busy being lunchtime in the middle of the week while ASU was still in summer mode. The Vig is part of the Genuine Concepts restaurants and have been around since 2006. Other Genuine Concepts include Campo Italian Bistro and Bar, The Genuine, The Little Woody, The Womack, and The McMillan Bar and Kitchen (in Flagstaff). There are currently seven The Vig restaurants with an eight opening in Paradise Valley in the near future. The Fillmore location is open Monday through Thursday from 11 AM to 10 PM, Friday from 11 AM to 11 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 11 PM, and Sunday from 10 AM to 10 PM. You can make reservations for lunch or dinner (or something in between) for The Vig Fillmore at OpenTable or on their website. They also host private events and catering, and you can place online orders through their website. You can read more about all of this and sign up for their e-mail list at https://www.thevig.us. I also heard great things about the happy hour (which I think I may have visited a few years ago with friends). I certainly look forward to returning again to this location as well as when the location at the PV opens up soon.

Pozole
Stephen L.

We got to the restaurant for an early dinner around 5pm and were told they were short staffed and service will be slower than normal. I'm definitely appreciative when a server gives us that warning as we can decide to leave or stay committed... which of course we did. As for the food: Enchiladas-5/5, I haven't had enchiladas in a minute, but definitely will come back and it's perfectly filled with chicken, sauce, and topped with a bunch of toppings. Pesto pasta- 4/5- great taste full of basil and garlic, but lacking chicken. Feels like there was only a sprinkle of chicken Posole - 2/5- it looks good when it came out, but OMG it was salty galore. I thought adding lime would help, but after 5 slices ... I'm like, not worth getting high blood pressure for this As for drinks, forgot what we ordered, but it was good.

Hot Honey Chicken

Came here last weekend and the place is super cute! Had reservations for 4 and got seated inside by the bar. Disappointed with the table, it was a bit too tight and had to really try not to kick people that sat across from you. Food came out pretty delicious! Started with the crispy calamari and shrimp and it was very flavorful! We also tried the Pozole Soup yum! Then we ordered the Pastrami Reuben and it was delicious! We also ordered the New York Steak Frites and steak came out perfect temperature! We also ordered the Honey Hot chicken sandwich which had a good flavor too! Can't wait to come back and try other items on the menu!

Expresso martini

This place is hidden but a beautiful place to eat & drink. This vibe reminds me like CA. I loved it. My first time trying the espresso martini. It did not disappoint. It was delicious and on happy hour. I will go back for this drink . The cheeseburger slider was a hit. The calamari & shrimp was good. The shrimps ere small, but tasty. The parking was on the streets which I was not a fan of, but luckily I got good parking. It says private lot but I'm not sure where that was at.

Bread Pudding
Christine N.

The food tasted great and was cooked well. The server was on top of things and friendly. I really liked their Pineapple Sunrise cocktail. I had the pozole soup which was a pretty solid version. I've had more flavorful versions but this was still better than some I've had. The bread pudding was probably the most underwhelming thing I ordered. Nothing outstanding but nothing bad about it. I liked the patio and inside options for dining.

NY Steak Frites (medium)
Alan B.

I was invited to meet friends here. This location looks small on the outside and large on the inside! I ordered the steak frites cooked to medium. It was cooked to medium rare, but the quality of the steak was melt in your mouth quality! The fries that came with it were perfectly cooked, nice and crispy!! And the greens, broccolini was so good!! I also ordered the crème brûlée cheesecake... like how could you not... amazing, tasted amazing! This place wasn't bad nice and cozy feeling. Very comfortable. I'd definitely come back. The menu is limited though, which explains how they're able to make everything so good! I'd come back for sure!

Ask the Community - The Vig Fillmore

Is there parking close by? If so, does the restaurant offer parking vouchers?

Public parking all over. On the street and limited spaces behind the restaurant. I don't think there are vouchers, never asked for one.

Are there tvs?

Yes around the bar area

Are there bottomless mimosas during brunch?

No bottomless. But Sundays you can get a bottle for $25 + your choice of juice carafe on the side!

Are dogs allowed in the patio area?

They are welcome!

What time do open on Sundays?

10AM

Gluten free options?

My niece joined us Sunday and she's Vegan and she totally loved the options they had for her. Also, they said many of their menu items are or can be made to meet your gluten-free and vegetarian needs upon requests. I hope this helps. 😊

The interior is pretty long with a large number of seating inside the building so we had no trouble getting seated right away by the hostess. We decided on food relatively quickly due to previous experience with the business, however, our waiter never came around to take our orders or even give us water at the table. We saw one girl with dyed hair who unassumingly could have been our waiter since she was in our section but only worked with one particular table and ran to the back after each time, but never addressed our table or came by. We eventually had to flag a different waiter down who was able to help us place the order and service us for the rest of our visit, she also informed us that this other "Waiter" was supposed to help us but she wasn't sure why she never made an attempt to do so after having us wait 20 mins and other tables were being serviced. We ordered Flordian French Toast and Elote Breakfast Burrito (plus a couple sides and drink) which were both really good, and filling. Prices weren't too bad for what we ordered and was able to take our mind off of the rather long wait to get helped. Not sure if we'll come back to this particular location again, but it was nice trying the restaurant out another time.

Perfect when I'm half awake on the weekend. The weekends can get pretty busy but there is a good amount of parking available. One thing to know is there is no table service. You order at the counter and they have a lot of choices so if you have never been there it's hard to decide while other people are waiting behind you. I came with my mom and we were craving pancakes so again didn't get any eggs which is what they are known for and their breakfast pizzas. So I'll come back to try those. We split buttermilk pancakes and a cinnamon roll. They do have real maple syrup but of course they up charge for the good stuff. The pancakes are ok but don't taste like buttermilk pancakes. They looked good but it definitely tasted like a mix and not a good one. They were way overly sweet. They weren't terrible but just not great. 4/10 on the pancake scale. The cinnamon roll also tasted like a store bought premade roll. It was also kind of burnt and didn't taste like anything. The only good thing was the coffee which I was highly skeptical about because it was serve yourself from a carafe. But it was good and strong. Nice views of the mountains and the patio is dog friendly. I want to like this place because it's in my neighborhood so next time I'll try the eggs dishes. Also they have several veggie/vegan selections so I'll come back for those too and to bring my dog.

The staff was friendly throughout our stay, and the overall property has a relaxing atmosphere that makes it easy to enjoy the sunshine and scenery. We booked an upgraded suite with a separate bedroom and TV room, which gave us plenty of space to spread out. While the layout was great, the room itself could use some updates. The bathroom fixtures were older--the Kohler toilet didn't flush well and was a bit noisy, and the tub/shower combo had rounded sides that made it tricky to stand comfortably. The shower water also never got fully hot. The room had a slightly musty smell, and the carpets would benefit from a deep cleaning. The balcony screen door didn't close tightly, which let a few flies in, and access to the second floor required two sets of stairs since there's no elevator in that section. Even with those issues, the resort's location, views, and overall vibe made the stay enjoyable. With some room refreshes and a bit more maintenance attention, this could easily be a standout property. The setting alone is worth experiencing.

I was looking for a good staycation while also earning American Airlines AAdvantage miles and…read moreloyalty points to maintain my status for another year. I found a great AAdvantage Hotel deal at the Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs Resort and booked it. While it was a great success of a visit in terms of AAdvantage miles and loyalty points, my actual experience at the hotel itself was less to be desired due to the customer service and a big snafu on their part. I also have Hilton Gold status, though as I booked the hotel through a third party site (AAdvantage Hotels), I could see the stay and the stay history in my Hilton app, but I did not receive any benefits for staying there, which was fine as I didn't expect any anyone. I arrived in person to check in and already reserved and prepaid for a King 1 Bedroom Standard Suite, which had a nice view and reasonably spacious room (but not too much larger than a regular room at another hotel). The room was certainly not upgraded though there was parking available right in front of the entrance. I did not receive anything else at check-in nor did it appear that I'd get my regularly complimentary water. I did pay the daily resort charge which includes high speed internet access, access to the Falls Water Village, an hour at the tennis/pickleball court, an hour at the afternoon golf practice facility, two hours for a mountain bike rental, 20% off seasonal spa services, and 15% off select golf apparel. While I didn't use it, I had easy view and access to the Falls Water Village where you could lounge and play all day on their sun-marked terrace where you could find free-form pools, hot tubs, and cabanas. They even have a 138-foot enclosed water slide. When I checked out, I was told that a bill would be sent to me shortly since I did it on the app early, and when I received the bill, there was a charge for my room at the restaurant at the top of the hill called A Different Point of View. The catch is that I never went to eat there during my stay (or at any onsite restaurant since I live in the area and had my meals offsite). I reached out to the hotel who insisted that I did go there to eat. I promised them I didn't eat anywhere onsite and that they need to look at the receipt and see if it actually has my room number. They confirmed it did and that this meant I ate there. I told them to find my name on it and let me know if it was on there. After several more back and forth conversations, they confirmed it wasn't me and would remove the charge. They then mistakenly charged me double. Then they removed one charge, but it took more than a week before they removed the other charge. By the end of the exchanges, it felt like they were blaming me for their own mistake. While the resort is aged and rather pleasant, there certainly are training issues regarding the customer service offered at this property. I do not plan on staying here again in the future.
