We really loved everything about The Vig! The restaurant has an awesome atmosphere with its huge patio and cozy indoor space. We sat outside and it was a perfect day to be on the patio. Our waitress was really nice and helpful. We got everything pretty quickly after ordering and she kept our drinks filled. We got our meal started with some chips and salsa with guacamole. It's hard to go wrong with that. I got the reuben sandwich and loved it. The sandwich was super tasty and the mountain of fries served with it really did make the meal even better. Parking can be a challenge at The Vig as there's just street parking. Something I might try to do is go south of Fillmore. I've never had good luck north of Fillmore on the neighborhood side by The Vig. read more

Our table ordered the happy hour sliders and nachos, the bahn mi sliders, a burger, hot honey chicken sandwich, and a side of fries. The burger and sandwich got thumbs up from both diners. The happy hour cheeseburger sliders were pretty good too. The salsa with the nachos was good, but the cheese sauce on it was rather grainy. I'd have preferred melted cheese. Fries are fine. They're fries, so with some salt they were decent, but nothing amazing. The bahn mi sliders were not great. The pork belly was very tough. Our server was nice to take it off the bill, and the manager came to let me know she'd let the chef know as well. Service and ambiance were excellent, as always at this location. The atmosphere is really lovely. I hadn't visited at night before and the interior is especially cozy at night and the lights out in the patio made it really pretty. This is the 3rd vig we've been too. The food is great! I had the burger which the only complaint I have is don't ask what temperature I want my burger cooked when you can't cook to that temperature. Went to The Vig for as Sunday Brunch. When our Uber dropped us off in front of a house we were a little confused. lol But once you walk up you see the host stand & the huge patio on the side. We sat inside because it was just too hot. We ordered a bloody mary & michelada, both were pretty good. A little bumed there was no bottomless but that happens. All of our food was great. Queso with chrizo was bomb, and also pretty huge, the two of is could not finish it. We both ordered tacos. My pork tacos were so delicious! Great place for a date night! We just recently did it. They are right to label their locations funky, vibey, with indoor and outdoor space! With more than 18 years under their belt, they know what they're doing, and what they're doing is right-on! They do give you the 'feel' of a neighborhood hangout and community place, yet accessible to all - and then some. And the service, attention to detail and atmosphere, not to mention the food is close to excellent. In our recent visit on a gorgeous sunny afternoon, we took advantage of not only their attractive and enticing bar for a while, but the cozy outdoor experience. We started our visit with my ice-cold Huss Scottsdale Blonde and my wife with the Coug Cup with Deep Eddy lemon vodka, mild elderflower, a just right amount of strawberry puree, prosecco, and lemon juice. We went on to our mains with my order of an almost perfect rendition of Fish & Chips a perfectly beer battered rockfish (first ever time experienced rockfish in fish and chips meal) along with crispy fries, coleslaw with an exquisite jalopeno tartar sauce - I must say, as a fish and chips lover, I found it as close to excellent as possible! My wife selected and thoroughly enjoyed the incredible Grilled Chilean Salmon artistically served with roasted fingerling potatoes, some delicate cremini mushrooms, very fresh baby spinach, along with onions and a butter sauce. The Roasted Brussels Sprouts Salad we shared as an appetizer was incredible it was chalk full of perfectly roasted sweet potatoes, succulent baby spinach, terrific pecans and dried cranberries, topped with a roasted shallot vinaigrette and parmesan cheese - magnifique! And we finished off the meal a creamy and beautiful looking Brûlée Cheesecake - the only thing we were not enthused with. The waiter really did everything he could to make sure everyone was happy. The vibe is like a mid western supper clip but uniquely Phoenix. The weather was perfect this evening, let's eat! We sampled: Blistered Shishito peppers. Wow,!really tasty and they don't burn. We devoured these quickly. Roasted pork tacos, really good with excellent spicing and flavor. The pork texture was perfect and not dry. The PROBLEM I had with them was that nowhere on the menu does it mention that they are STREET tacos. I hate miniature facsimiles of what the product should be. If I would have known they were streets I would have ordered something else as there was a lot of good sounding stuff on the menu. The shrimp salad was great, the greens were fresh and the shrimp were grilled perfectly. I will return but avoid the tacos. read more

For the dip platter being $14 I expected the queso to have tasted homemade with chunks of jalapeño or something to give it depth or flavor! If you want to know what good queso taste like then you need to go to Fuzzy's taco shop in Tempe. My shrimp pasta had 4 little shrimp! I was truly disappointed. My friends salmon was so tiny it looked like a kids meal! I have been here twice and neither of those occasions were exciting nor memorable apart from the patio being so beautiful. I also wanna point out that they don't use jalapeños or anything spicy for that matter in their salsa. I was trying to find the spiciness out of the salsa or the guacamole but the spice contact was almost nonexistent. It wasn't mild, it wasn't medium and it wasn't hot it was none of the above. I don't eat a large volume of food but I ate the whole plate and was still hungry. Also tried the burger and thought it was pretty good. Cocktails are kind of cheap and sugary tasting. Convenient to walk to downtown or for something quick as it is not very crowded often. Wouldn't suggest The Vigilante over some other better places nearby. read more
