[[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked if the store had tape to seal my box and he responded with anger that i did not come with my box pre-taped and talked down to me while there was a box tape tool directly in-front of him which I know other UPS workers would have just used to tape the box and continue with their day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, this worker was refusing to be patient and assist all customers (before and after me in line) with their questions and concerns they expressed about shipping their packages.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]He was demeaning and rude to all customers, which was very inappropriate in service for a UPS store.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] read more

This is my closest UPS store and it's the absolute worst! I'll now have to drive further away just to avoid the hassle, attitude and delay of processing packages here. Why you may ask? The owner or manager of this location is controlling, doesn't think before doing and has an attitude. He needs to let his workers take over and handle the customers. He's not friendly, his comments border on rude and he grabbed my phone out of my hand without permission without simply providing a reason as to why. He's made comments like "we don't need your trash when processing the Amazon return" The trash he's referencing is the packaging for the product with the name and barcode on it. Another start to an interaction was him asking why didn't I attach the label to my package. I didn't even have a chance to ask for the slip cover to be able to attach it. Another time I was in line to process a package and he skipped right over me. I was clearly in the doorway and in line. He let someone go ahead of me and when I tried to inform him he moved on to the next victim. You might think we had different service needs but no, I was skipped over and now behind the guy he let go ahead of me. The final straw was him grabbing my $1500 phone out of my hand and dropping it on the weight scale without a care so he scan a barcode. He did this without asking me to set it down or instructing me to do so. I've had enough! UPS needs to send a rep to monitor the owner for a day to see he conducts this franchise. read more

Usually it's a drag to go on errands, but Dave (I believe he is the owner) was so kind and good natured, I enjoyed chatting with him so much i didn't mind the trip! Against my better judgment I popped into this location because I had two prepaid USPS packages that needed to be sent. The owner refused to take them and told me to go to the post office. I have dropped off pre paid packages to various UPS stores for YEARS (just did this morning to the UPS store by Moonlight Beach!) Never once has anyone refused to take my package. It's honestly like this guy is trying to run his business into the ground? Or is perhaps senile?? I have contacted the corporate headquarters of The UPS Store to report this location, they responded that they are aware of the issues with this store. Avoid. read more

I have always had a great experience at this store and am surprised at the negative reviews. The people here go above and beyond to help you in a very busy store with shipments and Amazon returns going out and everything else they have to deal with. I have been coming to this location for 2.5 years. I agree with most of the other reviewers, it used to be a huge pain in the butt to come here because the service was behind slow and the staff didn't seem to know how to work a basic computer. However, I have noticed a change for the better in recent months. The owner is in the store more often and he seems to be trying to turn things around. He is very nice and helpful and trying to get customers in and out of the door faster. They still have a bit to go but I appreciate the improvement! Service is faster and the staff seems to be better trained and nicer. It is definitely more pleasant to come here now, so kudos. read more

The miserable cult of Dave. I am yet another innocent bystander caught in the wrath of the older man (definitely not a gentleman) all the reviewers on here have written about. His name is Dave, and unlike most Dave's I know, this one...he's not the Daves who I'm accustomed to...you know the ones...the Daves who will come pick you up from the bar because you need a DD and we're getting a little too flirtatious with a biker's girlfriend. The Daves who lets you couch surf for three months at their pad while you go through a bitter divorce and you're just trying the get your feet back under you. No, no...this is no Dave. This Dave LOVES to be miserable, and as we all know...misery LOVES company. If I didn't know any better, this Dave might actually derive some sort of BDSM pleasure in making his customers the most unhappy on earth. Like... he's a professional...Not a professional in the sense of being a good UPS employee. Nay...he's a professional party pooper! My experience you ask? I have 6 Amazon returns, all packed, all labels ready to go. My hands are completely full. No biggie, I'm strong enough, I can handle it. I have to wait in line holding all these, but I'm not complaining, although I did detect that Dave was not happy with the current customer he was trying to help. No acknowledgement of us waiting in line, like a "hey guys, I will be right with you." Cool cool, whatevs...two people in line walk out because they realize seeing two old dudes try to work a computer might take longer than this Earth to turn into a ball of fire as it gets consumed by the sun...yet I soldier on. Finally I'm the only one left and I spy the scale where each package will be individually laid for a scan and ship. I rest the multiple boxes in the top counter because that is the only tiny real estate I have to start loading the scale one-by-one. "Oh you're going to use my top counter are ya? That's an odd place to put your packages!" I see the "Dave" name tag and think to myself "Where else would I put them." Throughout the scanning he's telling me which place the package is going in a weirdly condescending tone (you had to be there). I get to my fourth package which has a QR return code. His reader can't read it (after really giving it the ol' collegiate try if scanning one time) and proceeds to push the package off the scale at me, and it lands on the floor. Good thing this wasnt that super-expensive Ming Dynasty vase or Paleolithic caveman skull I found in my back yard and was sending to a museum in New York. Dave then says I will have to reprint the label at home and walks away, turning a blind eye to the other two packages yet to be scanned. Honestly, I gotta say...it was a power move. I called Dave back politely to remind him I still had two packages he needed to scan. Dave sighed and begrudgingly came back to press the trigger on his scanner and throw a nicely sealed package into a bin. Checkmate Dave...although this may be a draw as I still have a package unsent. A quick drive up to the UPS store by Target and a night and day difference, and guess what? Their scanner worked. If you've made it this far. I'm so sorry. But also, if you read the reviews...you realize that Dave's Cult of Misery has claimed more victims than the Jonestown Massacre. I only wish Dave would drink the kool-aid of happiness. read more

Slowest ground for an item that weighed 4.2 oz was $15.14! The item only cost $25. Ridiculous! The worst part about this store is that I am a female standing in line with 2 men behind me and the clerk asked me to speak my mailing address instead of writing it down. The UPS Store 270 N El Camino Real · In Camino I've done business here with this family for 13 yrs. One day they lost my $500 package and got a pair of white jeans instead. After being patient for 3 weeks. He set up 3 apt to talk about it. Each time I showed up he refused to talk to me and called security on me. This man customer service are none existing if you Have issues. He wrote a letter saying that his daughter offered me a donated box for my machine. Never having been there before, I didn't know there was a special place to go for Amazon returns. He said, "Go to where it says returns." Looking around, I didn't see it. The sign was flat on the counter on the other side of the second of only two registers. He was condescending. He talked as if I should already know what to do and know what he was thinking. There are so many obvious ways to improve customer service, starting at the top with the franchise owner. Looking back on the experience, it was like something out of Seinfeld. The elderly man (and I can say this because I'm elderly) first commented on how many returns I had. "Quite a shopping spree!" (embarrasing and none of his beeswax) and then he couldn't scan one of the bar codes. I said it's the same size as the other bar codes, why don't you try another scanner? And he said, "Because I'm using THIS scanner! You will have to go home and print the bar code again." I said, "I'm not going home, I can get the code from my phone." And he said dismissively, "Next customer please!" So I politely stepped aside, accessed the code in less than 15 seconds, and had to get back in line. He proceeded to help the next customer who had like 10 returns. After 10 minutes in that store, I finally got my turn again and he was able to scan my return. read more

Went in looking for flat rate and was greeted with an red haired women, she was so so helpful in getting all my things to fit, she went above and beyond to make the effort to ensure I didn't have to send it through regular mail that would've been twice as expensive and arrived to its designation 5 days later than I needed it and even helped me tape my box! The older Male Owner of this business is a very pushy and Rude. He refuses to scan your UPS packages, and wants you to leave them on the cart. He is very rude about it if you ask for a receipt, and tells you to you the label as a receipt, but this is no proof that it's been dropped off, if you just leave it by the front door on a cart. This place is terrible if you need a notary. It was really unpleasant. Notary insisted I come up with an expired ID for my previous name , even though it wasn't applicable. By law she couldn't use even anything older than 5 years expired if I had it ,as it was 17 years ago. The icing on the cake was : " I'm not going to jail for you". What? I didn't ask anyone to do anything fraudulent. The notary was unusable. the store is ok for shipping packages, don't expect much more than that. read more

This UPS store has an Amazon return option, which is great! They are super polite (unlike the UPS store on the 101 by Leucadia Pizza). The Encinitas UPS Store is Amazing! We use them for all our shipping and receiving and notarial services. They have been super helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.
