Wheat bread

The food made me feel like I was getting breakfast from a family member or I was at someone's home. I felt so great and welcomed going to the diner. The ambiance felt homie and the prices are affordable especially in this economy. The service was amazing, my sever Alejandro, was friendly and attentive of my brother's and I's needs. I will come back again to try their breakfast burrito. I ordered the Reyn meal and my brother ordered the Leo's special. Mine came with a slice of banana bread and that bread is so moist and delicious.

I was pleasantly surprised by how great this restaurant is. Alejandro was on his "A" game and did not miss a beat as he served up our order and provided our meals quickly and hot. The prices are very competitive and we even had leftovers!

What a satisfying comfort food breakfast. Fast, friendly service all inside what looks like a 1950's diner. Don't think you could go wrong with anything you order. The specialty of the house appears to be homemade banana bread - it seems to come with every dish. It was good, especially slathered with the big dollop of butter. Hashbrowns that accompanied the eggs and bacon were crispy delicious. Service was spot on. Inside the diner atmosphere exudes everything. No frills just a wonderful way to stary your day.

Small hole in the wall diner with pretty decent food. The interior is small and cozy but the staff is super friendly. They were also very accommodating about swapping meat alternatives since I do not eat meat. Basic breakfast food that is actually good. Glad to live nearby to be able to visit any time.

Excellent prices, delicious no frills food and fast service, you cannot go wrong here. The Reyn has been a staple in Pasadena for decades there's plenty of parking behind the restaurant. They are known for their banana bread which you can sub for any toast order but more importantly for good value. This beloved spot can have over an hour wait on the weekends so come early! The hash browns are crispy and the t-bone is well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Their pancakes are amazing as well, not buttermilk and not doughy just yum! This spot is nothing flashy just a traditional diner full of locals and food served with love.

Chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, English muffin, Spanish omelette and hash browns

I love the Reyn, and so do other people as evidenced by the very long line if you go after 8:30am on the weekends. We're lucky to live close by and come early in the morning when there aren't that many people inside. We choose our seat and get our order taken quickly by an always friendly service staff. I've had the French toast combo and that was delicious but my FAVORITE breakfast is the Spanish omelette. If you don't like thin/tomato-ey salsa, you should probably get this with salsa on the side or something because they DRENCH the omelette in salsa (which I enjoy because I like the saucy salsa). I love the crunch of the bell peppers and onions inside of the omelette and the cheese is soo gooey. The hash browns are perfectly crunchy and they give you an ample amount (but I'm a potato fiend and still always want more!) I've tried basically every bread that they have there and they're all delicious. They have a bakery that they get the bread from and you can tell - at first I thought they baked the bread in house because that's how good it was! The banana bread is worth the extra charge, but my favorite are the English muffins, they're nice and tangy. I'll be coming here are often as I can because I absolutely love The Reyn!

They were attentive and seated us right away. Use the back door to enter the restaurant and grab street parking. The hashbrowns and bacon were a bit too greasy for my taste and the sausage was okay. The banana bread was very chewy and thick, The pancakes were fluffy and fine. Overall a good experience with our server and the food tasted homemade.

Not Celiac Safe!
Shannon P.

As someone with Celiac disease, I try very hard to ask questions kindly and respectfully when dining out because cross contamination can make me seriously ill. Unfortunately, this was a really disappointing experience. The woman taking our order did not seem to know what Celiac disease or gluten even was, and became visibly annoyed when I asked basic questions about food preparation and cross contamination. When I asked about the prep station and whether gloves or utensils could be changed, she refused to ask the cooks. From what I was told, nearly everything shares the same grill. The only item that might potentially be safe would be eggs cooked in a separate pan, but without changing gloves or utensils, even that would not actually be safe for someone with Celiac disease. I ended up not eating at all. I actually left my party and waited in the car because I wanted to cry. It was embarrassing and honestly heartbreaking to feel like asking questions to protect my health was treated like an inconvenience. I completely understand not every restaurant can accommodate Celiac, but kindness, honesty, and basic understanding go a long way. I hope the staff can receive better education about food allergies and cross contamination in the future.

We came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning around 9 am. The place is BUSY! We had our name added to the waitlist; they said about 20 minutes, but 10 minutes later asked us if counter seating was okay. Of course; I enjoy seeing how restaurants function. Excellent service, delicious food and a great place to enjoy a nice breakfast. Think diner vibes with some delicious banana bread as a not to miss option. My husband and I ordered a Chicken fried steak and corned beef and hash. Both meals were very good. It's worth the wait.

What We Ordered: -Banana Bread $3.89 -Farmer's Breakfast $16.29 -Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs $15.49 -Coffee $3.49 I read online about their famous Banana Bread. As soon as, we were seated and given menus. I asked for a slice of Banana Bread. My mouth was watering in anticipation of trying the Banana Bread. My Mother wasn't much of a cook, but she did make a decent Banana Bread, but I gotta say, The Reyn makes a better one than her. My go-to diner order has always been a Chicken Fried Steak unless they're known for something specific. The Chicken Fried Steak was nice and tender, but it was a bit of small portion. It came with a side of toast or Banana Bread. The only answer is to order the Banana Bread over an order of toast. The home fries with the onions were great! As previously mentioned, the banana bread was out of this world! You must try it! My wife ordered the Farmer's Breakfast which came with two eggs, hash browns, two strips of bacon, two sausage links and two pancakes. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and a good size. The staff did a great job with refilling waters and topping up the coffee. That was very attentive on their part! I probably wouldn't order the Chicken Fried Steak again, but I would for sure order the home fries with onions and that delicious Banana Bread. The wife said, she'd order the Farmer's Breakfast as she especially loved the crispy hash brown. We'll definitely be back to The Reyn again soon! Looking forward to trying other delicious dishes.

Love my country fried steaks. Great diner in Pasadena. Great fast service and tasty food.

I had breakfast twice here last weekend. How have I not tried this place before?! The food here is fantastic! Everything is cooked perfectly, the service is fast and nice, ambience is adorable. I highly recommend their banana bread. The portions are generous and the price is reasonable, especially compared to other options in the area.

What do you think k this looks like, cheese fries... no its an order of huevos rancheros, what a presentation!!
Dulce C.

The sauce of the huevos rancheros, lack of flavor, add some spices. The presentation really sucks, how about the potatoes on the side, it just looks like a mountain of sauce and cheese. I asked for a jalapeño and was charged $0.29, come on guys!! Ot at least offer a good side salsa, not the bottle type. Coffee almost $4.00 , Starbucks is better and for $3.15... really!! The service is good, the server is very attentive. Definitely you can do better, going next door and trying their mexican food. First and las here

Fun decorations!

What is the purpose of the wait list when a third of the tables were empty?

When we went there was no wait list

Do they have WiFi?

I don't think so! They have very quick turn arounds, so they don't want customers stick around for too long.

Can you do a large to go breakfast order for 30-40 people?

I want to see menu?

Just good coffee shop food. Nice place to hangout or meet friends.

Do you do to go orders?

Yes they do!

We arrived just before noon and there was already a wait list and line for a table. When checking in, we were told it would be about a half hour wait or so. You order before being seated and a number placards is given for the table. Menu, it has a a lot of good dishes to choose from. Every single one of the staff were so friendly which is nice to walk into a place so welcoming. Friendly hi, making sure everyone was taken care of and if anything was needed. Great customer service. Drinks didn't take long to arrive followed by the first item. The cinnamon apple French toast. It was quite nice with the crunch and apple jam. Everything was great when brought out that no extra syrup was needed. Also served with whipped cream. Within a Couple minutes after that, the entrees came out. An order of the kimchi buttered fried chicken Benedict. First off, it was delicious. Two big portions of Benedict, with kimchi added and the chicken had a lot of flavors. It wasn't too powering with the kimchi and worked really well. That came with their potatoes and a side salad. And the Norwegian Benedict with smoked salmon. Basically a smoked salmon Benedict with all the trimmings. The meals were great and the dishes were massive. We've seen a couple of people sharing plates and lots of leftovers. The food was great and delicious. Service didn't take long after ordering and staff were all very friendly. The only waiting was for a table but that's a given during the weekend. They are limited in hours. Mainly breakfast and brunch but the food was great. Until next time. Our food took quite a while to arrive, close to 30 mins! But the staff was very apologetic and even brought us a complimentary muffin while we waited. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and delicious. Thirty minutes later, they were still hanging around. We fully understood that this was not by any fault of the restaurant. We continued to wait patiently. It's a cute little cafe with a nice and welcoming interior located in Downtown Pasadena. Service was super friendly, and the owner took the time to explain some of the best dishes to us. Everything just worked together. I've never had anything quite like this, but I would easily get it again. (5/5) Fantasy Crepe - This is your sweet crepe. It's simple but makes for a nice treat. The crepe had a great texture, and nothing was overpowering. Who doesn't love Nutella? Really enjoyable. (4.5/5) Croque Madame - Another simple yet delicious dish. It's basically a ham and cheese sandwich with a runny egg on top. Super simple, but you can really taste the freshness of each ingredient. (5/5) Canele de Bordeaux - This is a MUST GET. One star for the service and mandatory charge.
