The food was okay. My family and I came around 9:30 am and it was busy, but according to the waitress, it wasn't THAT busy. That was pretty accurate, as it got really busy when we left at 11. I got the French toast, home fries as substitute for sausage or bacon, and eggs. I also got black coffee, which was decent. It wasn't a very memorable experience, but the waitress came by pretty often to check on us. My brother got undercooked eggs which they happily replaced with properly cooked eggs when I notified them. The place is really cramped. They have tables that are too close to other tables, and when you walk in, it can get pretty hectic just to give the hostess who will be seating you your name. Also, when she brought out our plates, she was kind of baffled as to where to put them since the table was so small, so she just kind of handed them to us and let us deal with them. read more

Playing catch up on some reviews, I came at noon on the Monday before Christmas. It was pretty packed but I managed to get seated immediately. Can't decide between 3 and 4 stars so I'm rounding up. I got the Chicken fried steak, house potatoes, sunny side up eggs, and banana bread. Oh and coffee of course. The food came out pretty quickly. The chicken fried steak was good but the gravy was off by just a smidge. I definitely enjoy Russell's more. The house potatoes were ok. Eggs were sunny side up like I asked for... not much to say here. The banana bread was interesting... they put a dollop of butter / margarine / i can't believe it's not butter on top. It was a bit on the dryer side so the butter or what have you was appreciated. They have another carby option that I'm guessing they must have been sold out of because my server didn't offer it to me when I was ordering. No one really checked up on me for refills of water or coffee which is understandable seeing as they were relatively busy. We decided to try some place new for brunch today. The Reyn has been on our list of places to try for awhile, so we gave it a go. The menu is basic diner food, with a few extras. The Ortega Supreme omelette is pretty delish. The salsa that it's covered in has a nice bite to it. We'll suggest asking for the salsa on the side, if you don't like your food swimming in sauce. Pancakes are your average pancakes - light and fluffy. Breakfast burrito is good, but small compared to most other places. What makes this place super special is the service. Maria was an excellent server! She listened, asked questions, and read the orders back to us. She checked on or group several times throughout our visit too. Wow! I absolutely love old-school diners and this one didn't disappoint. We came here on a weekday in the morning and there was still a minor wait. When we sat down and ordered our dishes, they were out in about 5 minutes. Service was very fast and efficient. Don't be alarmed by the exterior of this restaurant because if you want an authentic diner-brunch style food (nothing fancy, no eggs benedict), come here. We ordered an omelette and a french toast combo. Both dishes were so good and the banana bread is HEAVENLY, like everyone else said. It was very moist and easy to eat. We had a party of 8 so the wait was a little long but the food was all good and we were happy campers. The Reyn Rancheros was a tasty mess and a lot of food. I have been to the Reyn a couple of times and I have loved each visit. The Reyn is your typical mom&pop shop with a Mexican twist to it. There seems to be many locals who come here often and have their "regular". The multiple times I have been here have been after local hikes for brunch or just because I was craving a little cafe spot. Environment - located on the corner of a street, there's plenty of back lot and street parking. When you walk in, you'd notice that the Reyn looks like an old diner and has that kind of feel. There are choices of counter seats, booth seats and tables with chairs. There's a view of the diner action regardless of where you sit! Everything is really entertaining to watch :) Service - everyone is so diner-friendly here! The workers treat everyone as if they are family and they all seem so cheerful. They were very attentive, answered all of our questions and were always asking us what we needed. Food - their food is so unique where it's a blend of american diner with a twist of mex. I always have trouble choosing what to eat because their food descriptions always make everything sound so delicious! 1) Veggie Omelette - omelettes are my favorite things to eat and to order during brunch. I believe that omelettes help determine how good a restaurant is... i mean, who can mess up eggs? These are pretty large and tasty. They comes with home fries or fruits and biscuits or banana bread. Enough to fill a large hungry customer, or two meals for me! 2) Chocolate Chip Pancakes - delicious! All the pancakes on the menu sounds wonderful and they look even better in person! And they taste great. Comes with two eggs and bacon/sausage. Always get extra powdered sugar and syrup! Don't be skimpy with that butter either. My weakness. 3) Fried Chicken Wrap - I believe that this is a special but anything in a wrap is very good. It also came with a choice of potatoes.. in which I got with home fries :) 4) Hash browns or Home fries? - I prefer the home fries always because it reminds me more of french fries. Use to be a pleasant experience going to the Reyen. Today, not so much. Our server kept rushing us to order when there was 5 or more tables empty (it's a small place), the food wasn't seasoned, and what I thought would be a good spot to catch up with family that was coming from out of town, I was asked by not only the server but also the manager to leave for staying "too long". The only reason I left two stars was the banana bread and the lovely bussers (not the server) who were consisten in asking if we wanted coffee. There were people who were there before us that still haven't left. I can't help feel they had a personal problem with us (we were speaking Spanish the whole time). No matter how you put it, you don't kick people out from your establishment just for talking. read more

Love this local breakfast/lunch spot. I live nearby and would recommend trying it on a weekday if you can. The place is popular and often has a line out the door on weekends. Prices are okay, especially considering the size of the meal is shareable. A favorite of mine is the Sophie scramble or Cinnamon Roll French Toast. I have come numerous times with friends who all enjoyed the food and service very much. The place is kid friendly and service is prompt with frequent beverage refills. On one occasion I had a snippy waitress which did make the experience a little less enjoyable but other than that it has always been positive.
