    East Coast Oysters
    Mark M.

The North Fork is elevated simplicity in the heart of the West Village We stopped into The North Fork in the West Village and had an experience that hit every note just right. We ordered a spread of East Coast oysters, shrimp cocktail, burrata, hummus, and a charcuterie board, and every single item was presented beautifully, prepared with care, and delivered with confidence. The oysters were exceptional, some of the freshest we've had in Manhattan. If you've never tried fresh oysters and want a true introduction, this is the place. The charcuterie and burrata felt curated rather than assembled, and the shrimp cocktail had that unmistakable chill and snap that only comes from top-quality seafood. The atmosphere was relaxed and hyper-local, with that unmistakable West Village energy, refined without pretension. This isn't the place for bland palates or folks looking for heavy sauces and shortcuts. It's for people who appreciate clean, elegant food done right. Service was fine, the kind of staff that knows when to check in and when to leave you to enjoy. We were there with our oldest child, age 21, and it felt like the perfect spot for a grown-up, celebratory bite without having to go full fine dining. Final word: The North Fork is a true gem for anyone who values quality ingredients and quiet excellence. We'll absolutely be back.

We had a huge birthday party event with about 25 guests. The wait staff was very polite and definitely overwhelmed with the party of our size. We appreciated them very much!! The inside is fairly small/cramped but it's quaint. Several small dining tables with a bar in the middle. The entrees that we prepaid for $27 came with a drink but some of us opted for the $30 bottomless option as well. Their bottomless drinks were veryyy strong. I also liked that they gave us pitchers so we could help ourselves. The duck benedict was superb!! It felt like a generous helping of duck and the poached eggs were done wonderfully with the hollandaise with lots of flavor. The skillet was very chickpea heavy and wished there were more bites of the chorizo. The sour dough was a nice touch as well.

Came here on a Thursday at 5:45pm and was easily able to find two seats at the bar. They have a great happy hour deal until 7pm, $1.50 raw oysters and special deals on drinks. The oysters were great for the price, tasted fresh, although some pieces looked malnourished compared to others. lol Thai mussels: great coconutty flavor, use the bread to soak up all the delicious sauce Black linguini seafood: filling, good portion Overall, a cute place for date night and not too noisy and crowded.

Stumbled upon North Fork while looking for a cozy place for drinks and light bites. We stopped in during their happy hour. The happy hour can't be beat. $13 cheese plate and $7 wines?! Best deal in New York. The space is tiny but has two large bathrooms. I ordered a hot toddy which wasn't on the menu and they made it beautifully with cinnamon garnish! I also had a glass of Prosecco and my friend had glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon. Service was attentive and friendly. We stayed for almost 3 hours and had a great time. Noise level in the restaurant wasn't loud which was nice. They have a few bar stools but mostly have tables and booths. I also had a dessert which was raspberries in a sponge cake with a pistachio mousse. It was light and refreshingly good! Stopping in here was a pleasant surprise. I'd love to come back for their full food menu. There's so many overhyped places in the West Village that are packed on a weekend but this place is a hidden gem. Highly recommend coming here versus a "trendy" spot.

I like trying different brunch restaurants; some which are really good, I would frequent again. This place isn't on my top "go again" list. The burger was really good and cooked well. The service was also good. They refilled our drinks quickly and kept asking if we were okay. There were multiple bottomless options but the drinks were mediocre. The margarita was way too sour. The peach sangria was okay as was the peach Bellini.

Came here on a Saturday night w reservation 8pm but we showed up abit earlier, there were few tables available but the hostess didn't want to seat us so we had to hang at a bar for 30 mins and returned at 8 to be seated, when we came back, the table we were seated was the same tables that's vacant when we were there earlier! I had an old-fashioned cocktail, it was abit more of sweeter side, for apps, we had zesty romanesco florets, it came w multi-color florets in a very fresh summery djion mustard dressing, also had burrata, which was ok, almost too cold in the center when taking the bite. For entrée, I had their signature dish of braised short ribs, it was debone, I have to say i like the cauliflower puree more than the short ribs, it was tender, lack of wine flavor and overtly salty! For $32, the portion is also on a skimpy side. Friend ordered chicken and mushroom Fettuccini I had a bite, nothing out of the ordinary. Service was friendly but also seem like lack of staffs, it's a cute corner spot but the music gets abit loud Overall, the ambiance was casual, given all the options around I prob won't return.

Decent brunch spot in an awesome location with lots of sweet and savory options. Amole drink menu as well. Egg skillet was fine. Nothing special and avocado and chick peas were a bit too Al dente for me. French toast got rave reviews. Fast and friendly service.

Came across this restaurant on the Seated app for brunch and saw that it was ranked NYC Top 12 by Time Out and Eater Magazine. My friend got the Baked Skillet Eggs (2 baked eggs, harissa chickpeas, chorizo, charred cherry tomatoes, avocado, arugula) and I got the Crème Brûlée French Toast (challah bread, crème Brulee, home made whipped cream, fresh berries). Both were great and reasonably priced. We didn't drink but they do have a bottomless brunch. Service was great because the staff kept refilling our water because we were chatting for awhile. Lots of seating.

Came here for the happy hour because they market their $1.50 per oyster deal. They did not disappoint! Was not too crowded on a Friday at 5pm. Oysters were delicious and so were the drink. We got Aperol spritz and a margarita. Very good! Everything came out fast as well. My friend also got the truffle pasta and it was amazing! We sat outside, it was super nice.

Really cute spot deep in the West Village! They have an everyday happy hour that starts at 4pm and goes to 6pm fri/Sat and to 7pm otherwise. Got an aperol spritz for $9. It was a little watery for my liking, but the alcohol still hit. The indoor seating is clean and sophisticated. And there are few great tables facing the window, which get a lot of light. Outdoor seating is a bit more haphazard, like cheaper looking small metal tables and chairs just straight on the street. Service is quick and friendly.

Dined alone last night and had a delicious dinner. I'm just in town for work but would've loved to bring my husband here since it's so cozy & romantic.

This is a solid West Village spot. We spent Pride there and were very pleased with all the food options. In fact it took us forever to figure out what we wanted because it all looked great. The service was solid and though it was a little hot (it was a packed Pride Sunday and that AC was doing all it could), we very much enjoyed ourselves!

Ask the Community - The North Fork

Is there outdoor dining with rain protection, like a shed?

Yes, the outdoor seating is covered and heated

What are their vegan options? Nothing is labeled on the menu so hoping to know 100% if there are options from brunch or dinner + what they are.

Northfork is not a vegan restaurant. The only "vegan" options are vegetable side dishes. https://www.northforknyc.com/#1549435846469-05f1a1ce-65f770ea-cf328dbb-753f

Is it $35 bottomless brunch or $45?

    It’s $45

What time does this restaurant open on Saturday? I'm seeing 10AM on YELP, but online it says 11?

We are open 10AM on Sat and Sun.

Do they have a bottomless brunch option? Timeout mentioned the did but I didn't see it on their website. I called to ask and the person who answered the phone told me to call back and ask at another time when the manager was in - which I found odd

yes they do!! i was there last weekend and they have a rare 1 entrée & bottomless drinks available for just 35$ if i remember correctly...

So they have a happy hour?

    Yes Everyday 4pm to 8pm

While I can't comment on the wine list personally, I know they are well-known for their extensive selection. After placing our order, we were delivered the sesame pizza bianca, which is a complimentary starter bread with dinner. The bread was a nice size and light and airy with a perfect crust and a delicious, crusty sesame seed bottom. The prawns were our starter and came three to a dish. They were sizable, though since they are served with the head and tail, there isn't a ton of meat on them. That said, they were flavorful and juicy with a nice sauce and just the right amount of spice that didn't overwhelm the fish. The snowdance chicken was the star of the show! It was incredibly juicy and tender with perfectly prepared skin, so I was happy to learn they keep this on the menu year-round. It was topped with some spinach that was solid, though nothing special. We also ordered a side of mushrooms which came with a creamy sauce and fish roe intended to be mixed at the table. The roe wasn't fishy at all but added a great element of umami to the flavorful, well-textured mushrooms. Overall, the service was very professional, though I thought the pacing could have been improved as the dishes came out a bit slowly. I would also recommend ordering at least two dishes per person, as the three plates we shared between two people felt like just a touch too little food. I'm already looking forward to going back--I'd try the winter chicories salad or the veal sweetbreads next time, but I'm open to exploring everything since the quality is so high. I noticed a side dish listed on their online menu that wasn't actually offered in person, so it might be worth double-checking if you have your heart set on a specific item.

I made reservations after seeing their special hot chocolate on social media and had a wonderful meal! Started off with the hiramasa which was fresh and went deliciously well with the citrus-y and sweet cara cara orange, as well as the aji peppers! The castelfranco chickory salad was fresh, crunchy, slightly creamy and slightly tangy - basically everything you need in an appetizing salad! Their house sesame bread was fluffy and chewy with a good amount of sesame flavor without having too many seeds. For mains, the farfelle was very interesting and tasty! The pasta was al dente and the sauce was addicting! At first I was wondering if it would resemble a nut butter, but it was creamy with very prominent walnut flavors and interesting texture (perhaps from the blended walnut skin component?). The addition of burrata and other cheeses was perfect for a cheese-lover like me. The pork chop was flavorful, well-seasoned, and juicy. The leek and cabbage mixture soaked up all the sauce and I wish there was more! Their special hot chocolate with an espresso martini marshmallow was fire!!!! Hot chocolate was decadent, not too thick, and not too sweet. The toasted marshmallow melted quickly but definitely had coffee and alcohol flavors. The amount per serving doesn't appear a lot but appropriate considering how rich it is. The mascarpone dessert had a great balance of fluffy cream, extremely crispy phyllo, and crunchy nuts with a touch of chocolate and vanilla! For drinks, I was really curious about the bi lemongrass but they ran out. Staff recommended the semiplume, which felt like a beer, tea, and sparkling wine all at once! Loved the floral aroma and bitter tea notes. My partner's cocktails were also well executed. Staff were nice and friendly. We got seats right by the kitchen so staff often checked in with us, including the chef!! Vibes were intimate with the dim lighting and minimalist decor. Definitely want to come back to check out their chicken and other dishes!!
