Oh My Goodness - Yes Yes a Thousand times Yes. Great food and a great vibe. The burgers are mighty fresh and served with a terrific choice of accompaniments. My salad was as fresh as can be with delectable bacon and smoked turkey. The fries were unbeatable but the best part of all (besides excellent service) was the after dinner pie. Homestyle flaky pastry crust with juicy fruity blueberry and cherry filling. I imagine dessert is always different bit this was heavenly. Kudos all around. read more

Update on my previous review. We started out at four stars. Based on their inconsistency of their cooking and just not being able to find a balance with ordering a burger and what temp to expect the patty to be cooked at I had to bump them down to three stars. And then the next day set in..... in the middle of the night I got sick from their beef as well as my wife, thus the two sad stars. Usually even if beef comes rare it still won't make you sick, so this tells you a lot about their beef. read more

We go here often. The service is relaxed and professional. I always get a burger and it's always good. It doesn't matter if you dine outside or in. The only drawback is that there's sometimes a wait for seating. But it's rarely very long. Lowbrow had become my go-to haven for a good burger. read more

Made a reservation for 6:30 for a table of 8 - called 45 minutes prior to reservation time. Our group had an event to get to filling our meal. When we arrived the check in person said we would have to wait. I asked how long - response- "I don't know " I asked what was the point of my making reservation- ho boy - that set them off!!! Said they would get manager. Pretty much same response. Just incredibly rude! Well eventually we got a table and the waiter was very disrespectful. My dish, pesto pasta was very oily - clearly microwaved prior to being served. Dreadful. I certainly won't be returning. If you care about good food and a professional wait staff - give this place a miss. read more

The best restaurant south of 30th Ave in all of Minneapolis, probably even more. Have been here tons of times and have literally never had a bad experience whatsoever. The servers give the best service of any restaurant I've been to, and the food is just as good to boot. A must-go for foodies in the Twin Cities area. Check them out! My boyfriend and I have been here a few times, and it's been great each time. The food isn't like ~amazing~, but it's good. My boyfriend is very picky and he raves about this place. The bartender that we've had is so so nice, he is quite talkative if you want to talk. Had a very nice lunch here yesterday. Lowbrow is not that big but is a nice neighborhood restaurant. It was so nice out that we ate outside. Good service and we all liked our food. I had a turkey burger and a nice one of the beers that are on tap. What I liked about the turkey burger was that it had just the right amount of seasoning (some burgers can be pretty bland). I love going to the Lowbrow, it's so vegan friendly and one of a kind. They are very safe and practice social distancing. They made a cute lil patio out back with bulb lights and a \white tent with hightop wooden tables - SUPER cute. The vegan burger is made from scratch, no processed ish, no nothing. The fries are BOMB I dont know how or what yall do back in that kitchen but I could eat 6 plates of the fries alone. I recommend a spicy marg also. So strong, so good. So aside from all this, the best and most enjoyable thing about this entire visit was our server Olivia! Right off the bat I called to make reservations and she took the call, she was so kind and so happy on the phone. She also ended up being our server the entire night. The Lowbrow is one of our favorite neighborhood joints. There are so many things to love about it. We hadn't been out to eat for 15 mo, and we decided to go here and sit on the patio. It's just as good as we remembered. I had the fish tacos, and they were fantastic. DH had a burger and was very happy with it. We have been craving french fries, and their hand made fries satisfied the craving! I was able to substitute fries for the chips that usually come with the fish tacos, and it came with an amazing house made chipotle ketchup. They also have a nice beverage selection, and we particularly love their brunch. They always have several different coffee cakes every weekend, and they are all delicious! read more

I'm always on the lookout for new brunch spots so I'm glad I finally made it to the Lowbrow. I've heard lots of great things and for me, this was a solid 4. The Lowbrow had wonderfully friendly service, a low-key atmosphere, and the food was good. I got the classic breakfast with the Wisconsin hashers (hashbrowns with cheese and onions). It was your typical breakfast fare, but the eggs were fluffy and bacon was crisp. The art and wallpaper are very northern and also adorable, it has a nice homey feel. There's a pretty nice selection of drinks for brunch, some various mimosas that I'd like to try the next time around. My only tick off the stars here is that I wanted the food to be hot. It was warm, but nearing the almost cooler side of the temperature gauge. Also, just a tip, they only have sourdough here for toast options! read more

Not bad, Lowbrow! Came here while visiting a friend in Minneapolis and enjoyed my experience! If you're coming, I would expect a wait (but not too bad!) but it's worth it! Good food + good company = good review. Service was nice, great old-school-yet-modern vibe they got going for them, and decently extensive menu for a burger joint. I was hoping to give this place a higher review but perhaps I should have ordered my classic mushroom and Swiss burger. I got the highbrow burger, which my server said was her favorite. It's complimented with Brie cheese and carmelized onions. I asked to make it spicy so she recommended jalapeños. I would have thought the jalapeños were cooked or charred a bit, but they weren't. The burger itself was decent, but not "THAT burger" I've been looking for still or "oh my gosh it's so good I can't stop." I ordered a salad as my side, but I still wanted to try these fries people were raving about, so I got a side of them too. ;) Served with pesto aoli and spicy mayo. The fries were decent, a little salty along with the pesto aoli, spicy mayo just regular. I ordered the bison chili, expecting that to be my appetizer, but it was served with my meal. I was very disappointed in this, I'm someone who likes my hot food HOT and the chili was warm at best. On top of that, it was nothing special at all. I personally make better chili at home so won't be ordering that again. I will return to try the mushroom Swiss burger and hoping it will be better. A small neighborhood spot at 42nd and Nicollet with reasonable prices serving burgers, sandwiches and craft beers. We stopped in on a Sunday evening and the place was busy. They told us it would be 30 minutes for a table for 4 but it ended up only being about 10 which was great because it was starting to sprinkle a bit outside. We sat at a high table and started with some chips and creamy, flavorful guac. The chips were thick and crunchy and came also with a nice salsa. For dinner, I ordered the fish fingers while others in the group chose the pulled pork sandwich and burgers. The burgers were thick and juicy and the pulled pork a very ample portion. My fish fingers were served over thin, crispy fries and were the fingers were flakey, crispy from panko coating and not at all greasy. A big improvement on a traditional fish and chips. For beverages they have a variety of craft beer, some lower end wines and a few cocktails. I tried the red sangria which was served in a tall glass and was cool and refreshing.
