Update: I had to file a complaint with the California State Licensing Board. To no surprise after a year long investigation, they found multiple violations including outright fraud, not staying within industry standards , AND THEY WERE NOT EVEN LICENSED TO DO ROOFING WORK. Stay away at all costs. Look at the Better Business Bureau and Californa State Licensing Board site. The CSLB site alone will show their various legal violations. Got a new roof...Worst customer service. Many promises by sales people but they never were true. Many delays in project, inspections,etc. I wasn't allowed to talk to the working crew as they were told not to speak to the customer. Initially I was told that the entire project should take approximately 3 or 4 days. It took 8 days in total with some days with no one showing up and answers (excuses) until later. Never again. Had 30k Roof was done without permit. On the phone they said it was applied, then I called the city to find out the permit was never applied before starting the reroof. They tried to pull a quick one and said permit is not mentioned in the contract when collecting final payment. Even though the sales rep had mentioned they would obtain permit before starting. Had to tell them we are not paying final amount until city permit is applied and finalized. I was very close to report to the licensing board. Had to wait another 2 weeks for the permit. We had also requested L bracket to divert the rain, which we had specifically stated in the contract. It was never installed, told us that they would send someone to install but never showed up. read more

The roofing company came right away to rip off the roof and left it exposed for weeks. It rained and we had to call for someone to put a tarp up. They charge an arm and leg! After they finally fixed the roof they left a mess around the house when they finally finished their job. Then at the first rain there is a leak! We called to get it fixed before the next rain and they sent 2 workers that DID NOTHING! They DID NOT REPAIR ANYTHING! Now it is supposed to rain again today! Checked the reviews a little too late! I had 12 windows 2 sliding glass doors installed. 2 windows were bathrooms which I ordered to be bleared out and 1 sliding glass door was to have an extra large doggie door in it. I paid up front for half of the work. When they came out they installed everything but the 2 bathrooms windows were clear and the slider didn't have the doggie door. They said it was on back order and as soon as they got it they would install it. Well here it is over a year later and I'm still waiting. I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES! After posting my negative review regarding their failure to get my roof permitted with the city and the subsequent months spent trying to get them to do it, they got back to me! Finally done. They've since called and asked that I take down the review. Instead, I'll update it with my full experience. The salesman Jeremy was very nice and knowledgeable. Made us comfortable with going with this company for our new roof. The problems started with the fact that he was no longer involved from then on. Although we were able call him about issues, he would just pass them off to the main office, which is where the communication would break down. Each of the 3 days of the roofing process is conducted by 3 different crews, and there isn't a clear "project manager" or line of communication about next steps. You just have to trust that everything is getting done and they'll show up the next day. The issues really began on Day 4, when we got the call saying "we're all done, time to pay". I then had to inform the person calling that my house was still littered with nails, wood, debris, 2x4s, some equipment, etc. Further, there were wires left over from an old satellite they removed that were just left hanging off the side of my house, as well as a hole they inadvertently made in my stucco, an unfinished corner, and a spot on the very top of my roof that wasn't finished, the shingles were just left in a little pile there. Obviously the lady in the office was told they were done when they weren't. So she had to send someone out. We could tell that the poor guy they sent out was not happy about all the unfinished work and absolute MESS left by the Day 3 crew. We could hear him on the phone berating the guys in Spanish for the poor work. He then did the best he could to finish up everything and clean up. Unfortunately just being one guy doing clean up that required a team left much to be desired. What they don't tell you when selling you the roof and going over the project is that your garage and attic will be absolutely COVERED with debris. Nails, giant shards of wood, shingles and more. I remember Jeremy saying there "might be some dust", LOL. The one guy they sent used a blower to clear the floor in the garage (but not the layer covering the rafters and behind objects), and said he "wasn't allowed" to go in the attic. Of course, I let Jeremy know about the mess left behind, he said he would look into it, but nothing was done despite repeated follow ups. They don't tell you that their roofers would basically use your attic as a dumpster, just tossing chunks of wood into it, to go with the dust, nails and other debris. Now maybe it's customary in the roofing industry for the customer to have to spend a couple days with a shop-vac clearing debris in their garage and attic, but I bet if you go with another company, they'll do a better job cleaning up after the job. A couple days later, the city inspector showed up to do his final inspection to permit the roof, but Clear Energy forgot to leave a ladder for him, which meant he couldn't do it. I immediately called Jeremy to have them reschedule the inspection. He said they'd take care of it. They didn't. That started almost 6 months of texts, calls, unreturned messages, etc. to get them to reschedule the inspection. As I mentioned, it wasn't until I posted the negative Yelp review that they finally got back to me and got it done. They placed the blame on employee turnover in the office... Anyway. I'm happy with how the roof looks, and happy to be done with this company. I'd recommend looking elsewhere if you're looking to get your roof done. read more

How wrong is it to pay for a new roof plus insulation and then not be able to get good sleep almost a year later when you think of the roofing company that didn't ever follow up or express any care regarding work that is still pending? Yes, COVID has made things difficult and obtaining city permits is complicated but the last thing anyone wants is to be abandoned by their home roofing contractor. I cringe every time I read the business description where this company claims that they will treat your home as if it were their own because it doesn't seem possible that for their own homes they would leave water damaged wood under new roofing tiles, attic insulation that isn't sufficient and other unfinished work without any care or follow up. Our solar company was also delayed by COVID in reinstalling our solar panels but when they were ready to mount, our solar rep advised us that our roofer won't have time for our home until the summer ... yes, another 3 or 4 months from now ... such fun! Don't do it!!! This company is horrible. The negligence/ incompetence of the employees is unbelievable.The roofing crew did such a horrible and sloppy job when you ask them in a respectful way to fix all the sloppy work, they get upset. There are numerous holes made in our ceiling. In which they didn't cover one particular hole correctly and debris fell on my wheel chair bound aunt the hole was made above her bed. I kept contacting co owner Hector, sending photos of the debris falling on my aunt we ended up covering the hole with plastic ourselves. The roofers didn't cover the newly laid plywood with plastic knowing a rain storm was coming. 2/19/24, I woke up at 7 am to my living room in the center of my house, flooded furniture ruined. Took almost 3 hours later to have someone come and cover the roof with plastic. CO owner Hector said they're going to use the company servpro to inspect since that who their insurance company works with, I agreed. 2/20 Hector showed up with a company called service masters Luke was the inspector. I caught on and realized he didn't want to use the insurance, so it wasn't servpro like we had agreed! The whole roof of the house was exposed, and the inspector didn't want to do the moisture check the whole house only the living room. On 2/21 I woke up to water leaking in my room. At this point, Hector stopped replying. I had to email the receptionist showing screenshots of the unanswered text messages to finally get a response hourse later.Fast foward to 3/4 no insurance claim filed the living room ceiling is collapsing. The master bedroom wreaks of mildew the floor is buckling. I had agreed to meet with another co owner showed up trying to sweet talk us about giving him the chance to fix it no insurance involved I didn't give him a definitive answer but I gave him the opportunity to fix the hole made above my aunts bed since her health was being affected from breathing in all that hazardous material. They started on 3/5 it is 3/7 the hole still not done. I sent him my servpro inspection that i paid out of my pocket which took place on 2/21, and he had the nerve to question it called the servpro technician gave him a whole fbi interrogation over the the recommended removal of material from water damaged. CO owner said these things take time it's going to be a month already. This company treats you like it's your fault when your just asking for everything they damaged to be fixed in a timely manner. Charlatans and Conman. They operate illegally and outside of the rules that govern Contractor State License Board for the state of California. Their license has been suspended numerous times for deceptive business practices and failures during construction to follow the guidelines and the laws. Do not trust these people. They have no qualms about doing a horrible job. Lying about it, and blaming you for not knowing better than to hire them. we collected $15,000 in settlement from their liability insurance but we probably should've sued them. Here's the reality. They have set themselves up so that they cannot be sued. I mean you can sue them sure, but their companies that control their licenses have no assets And they are protected by corporate structure. They are very skilled at doing a bad job. And they've made themselves difficult to litigate. Therefore, the best bet is to find someone else and whatever you do, please check their license. These people had numerous complaints and violations, but we didn't check until we started having problems. That's not the way to do things. Check beforehand because these people are criminal and you don't want to have them install windows and doors only to find out that you have leaks in your walls and everywhere they have been on your house like we did. read more

We had our windows done in 2021. Not a cheap project but they needed to be done right away. Coordinator came and we signed the contract. Now me being who i am, i ask a lot of questions. First one was are the screens covered. Answer Yes! Forward to now. My husband had been calling to get them to come out and replace a screen. No answer on the phone but she did text back. Ummm text? He asked when can they come out? No answer. I jump in and start calling. Same thing, call and no answer but text immediately after. Justa text and we stated a convo about replacing the screen. I called and scheduled an appointment on tuesday, May 23rd. Today i text asking what time they are coming. A window time was established, but i was out and wanted to be sure to be home in time. Justa said they are running late and would be here in a couple hours. I called Yordan and same thing. Text right after. He was not nice and immediately had attitude. He said he's trying to find a crew to come. So Justa said on Tuesday that a crew was coming at 12-2. Now Yordan said he was finding a crew. So which was it, one quest coming and late or finding one today? It was a lie after lie. Neediess to say they never showed up and Yordan stopped returning my text about 430. I got three estimates from three different companies and Clear Energy Solutions took the time to show me the problematic areas of my roof, lay out my options, and show me some of their previous roofs they completed- even a few in neighborhoods near by. In all honesty I am furious with my whole experience with this company. I simply should have never signed for this headache but they tricked me with a great speech about how well the roof would be done & the fact that they were verified on Owen's corning . Here's a list of things I'm unhappy about. 1. I was told one person would be working the project & instead I felt tossed around & never actually heard from that person again 2. I was told it would be done by a certain day and it went over a week past expected date 3. The days were not consistent as promised & they never gave a heads up to when they'd show up & if they did give a time frame most of the time they wouldn't end up showing 4. I called about 5 times to have them properly sweep with a magnet as promised & my cameras show that it never happened in fact it shows a guy showing up picking up a couple nails &leaving 5. They dumped random things at the house & I even found a beer bottle broken in the backyard 6. When I had my brother sweep with a magnet he gathered a bowl of nails and razors from the job 7. When the roof leaked only months after everything we called to have someone come out and they told us on 5 different occasions that someone would come at a certain day and time frame and you guessed it no one ever showed. Communication is god awful you could either get no response or a sorry response. I'm just so sick & tired of this whole thing. I've talked to the companies owner and he seemed helpful until I found out nothing would get done even if I talked to him. Oh I should've also mentioned I was told I'd receive a check because since they didn't use the magnet to sweep the place I had to replace my tire due to a nail in it & I never received that either. & they tried bribing me with a gift card to give them a good review as Cher would say "As If!". I can't complain about the product that was used. I will complain about the service. This company has given us the run around as soon as we have our deposit. Everyone is so unorganized and has something different to say. It took forever to get them in Sync to meet the inspector. We were told any problems we had, to just call and they would come out. It has been 5 days and no one has gotten back to us. I am very disappointed with them and how they handle customer service. 11/21 Update. Since the last review, I was contacted and they came out to inspect the situation and within a few days they had someone out to fix it. UPDATE - I wrote this review a month ago with 2 outstanding issues on my project. 1) Sliding Glass door dangerously installed. 2) No proof of city permits which I explicitly requested on my work order 1) The day after my review, Clear Energy had a crew at my house fixing the sliding door. Glad to report it's resolved. . 2) On the day of my review, I received a call stating someone would be by my house to drop off a copy of the city permit. I checked city records, no report of the permit. I later received a call stating a city inspector would be by the following week to inspect my completely project. It's now been a month later, no inspector, no call from Clear Energy. NOTHING. I've already paid nearly $28K for the project, had to pay for all new flooring due to their mismanagement of my project, and now I can't get the important city permit. They torn out my old enclosed patio which WAS permitted by the city. CAUTION - Major safety issue! I have a heavy 8ft glass door that is too small for the opening and is being supported by only 2 screws. It was on 11/16/19 when I signed my contract with Clear Energy. I purchased an enclosed patio with an attached covered patio. The next day, someone was at my house taking measurements and by 11/25/19, they called to advise my materials were being ordered. I was asked to make a first payment of $9750 so they can order the supplies. Despite the fact that my contract states my first payment is "Due when we show up with materials". Nonetheless, I paid the 1st payment and was told materials should be ready in 1-2 weeks. By mid-December, I'd not heard from Clear Energy so I starting calling for status. It wasn't until late December when I received a call to schedule removal of my existing enclosed patio and installation of the new one. It was scheduled for 12/27/19. I reminded them of my intent to save the carpet and they assured me my old patio would be removed, carpet covered and the new patio would start to go up the next day. On 12/27/19 - no one showed up. I had to call their office only to be told it was rescheduled for 1/2. They forgot to tell me . I took a day off work for nothing. On 1/2/2020 - they showed up and removed my old patio. Left for the day but didn't cover my carpet. We had to go get tarps ourselves to cover the carpet. But then the next day. Nothing. No one showed up to start building the new enclosure. I took another day off work for nothing. I called and was told my materials would not be ready until the end of Jan. After several calls and disputes, they admitted the large 8ft glass door was "on back order" but Yordan offered to loan us a door they had in their warehouse. However, they would not start rebuilding until the following week and when I addressed my concern to preserve my carpet, Yordan offered to replace my flooring "at cost". $3k for less than 250sf space. On 1/9/2020 - they started rebuilding my new enclosure, additional covered patio, installed the loaner glass door but it was not snug, difficult to open and close. And held with shims. They asked for another $18K. I finally received a call stating my permanent door is ready and will be installed 1/27. But on that day, they called stating the door was "defective" and they were ordering another door on rush. Today - they arrived to install my door only to learn it's not the right size and they left the door dangling. It's heavy, glass, and holding on with only 2 screws on one side. It doesn't open and if you lean on it at all, it'll fall. I was told by the construction crew that they are not sure what they can do about the door not fitting. After the construction crew left with my door barely holding up, Clear Energy called me to ask if I was happy with the installation. Despite the construction crew calling Yordan to advise of the situation, their office called to ask if I was satisfied. My carpet was ruined and I had to find someone else to replace all the flooring. I keep asking for copies of my city permits, they keep telling me "it's being worked on". I have a safety issue now with my glass door. I've reached out to Yordan - no return call. read more

Incredibly disappointed my the professionalism of this company. We had the come out to measure and quote for window replacements. Fast forward 3 weeks...we never got a quote. Called the main office. They could not explain what the delay was and said we would have a quote by the end of the next day. Fast forward another 4 weeks...no quote. Called the main office again and they scheduled the "manager" to come out and give us a quote. They promised us a quote before he would leave. Same guy from our original meeting shows up, blames the delay on us. Agree to disagree. Then blames his main office personnel for not informing us correctly. Be aware of these two sales people Richard and L.J from Clear Energy. They gave us the impression that everything is included in the price for roof, painting the house and Solar panels removed and put back. It was extremely important for my husband and I to call our Solar company right away before they did any painting or roofing. They made it seemed that they will handle it. They are so deceiving. They should not have painted the house first before roofing because we found out Freedom our Solar company that they are the only ones to remove and put them back on roof. Plus we have to pay Freedom to do that. It takes all day to do this, and these two guys made it seem like it was not a problem. I will never go to Clear Energy for any project for our home. And another thing it took a long time for this company to complete the project. I never spoke to these two sales person again. This is a follow up to a previous post. For the work done I would give 5 stars, for follow up only 2. I was very satisfied with the work done, very precessional and clean. Geno who was the main worker was great and thorough. I would recommend him for any project. He sho7ld be the job foreman and not Brad. My biggest complaint is in their lack of communications. Very difficult to get a callback. There were a couple of minor problems I wanted looking into and could barely get a call back less have anybody actually come out. Also they left some supplies here that I notified them about but 5hey never retrieved. It's going in the trash now. The work done was in October. Now it is April. read more

I had the best experience with this company. The person who knocked on my door was very pleasant and not pushy. The scheduler was accommodating. When Gavin came out he was so knowledgeable about the dual pane windows we purchased for our two story home. He know what we needed and helped us purchase the windows. The installation crew was on time and were very professional, finishing the job in one day to perfection. They windows have made it so we have not even had to turn our heater on yet this winter. I give these guys 1 star because Yelp doesn't allow for zero stars. They started installation of a sliding door August 20th of 2018 year. To this day, it's still not complete. Their response was blaming the contractor that subs the work to them. If you require windows or sliders or any type of work, watch out, these guys are far away the worst in the industry. I have advised the contractor who employed them that I would use them again because of prior business unless they use clear energy solutions. He continued, and wouldn't stop after multiple times telling him "Not interested." I have had a great experience working with the team of Clear Energy Solutions. I will definitely return to this company for future projects that require more than a handyman's attention. I like the approach that the salesman took from the very beginning in bidding our job. Kevin showed a concern with what our focus and priorities were. Clear Energy Solutions offers different financing options including 12 months, no interest. Silly us, we were going to use that option until we realized we needed to add a roof to the project. Hind-site is always 20/20... Start with the roof (whether you're re-shingling or need a complete tear down, START WITH THE ROOF... which we did not.) Our biggest concerns were the eaves and facia that were rotting due to gutters that were not installed properly some years ago by another company. Kevin tried to let us know just how bad the roof was but we still were okay with replacing the roof at a later date. If we had listened to Kevin in the first place the completion of our house, from beginning to end, would have taken a much shorter time to complete because of their systematic way of doing the projects. Each team was absolutely fabulous, professional, and on time. Irma, the office Mgr, or the Project Mgr took great care to let me know what to expect prior to the workmen showing up. I especially liked how accommodating they were to me personally with my concerns about securing the work area for me and my pets. Any question or concern I had was addressed within 24 hours. The Clear Energy staff took great care to explain everything that I asked in a way that I could understand. Due to the high quality of products that they use we kept adding things to our project like painting the house as it only made sense once the eaves/facia, and gutters looked so great. Soooo what about the roof? We ended up having to replace the roof (a complete tear down) again, due to the poor workmanship of the previous company. We had always had a problem with the skylight leaking, also leaking in certain areas, and there were missing shingles but the worst part (Kevin took pictures to show us) was that the previous company shingled the roof over the original rock roof that was there. How did that even pass the inspector? Why would you fix/repair/replace eaves and facia without taking care of the chips/cracks in the stucco of the home? Why would you do all of that and NOT fix a roof that you already know has leaks? I shared my experience and all that it entailed to tell you this, I highly recommend that you at least contact Clear Energy for your home projects and give them a chance to bid your job. One day while I was home, I heard a knock at my front door. I went to answer it and was gleefully greeted by a man named Sergio. He talked about the improvement to the roof that he noticed and said that Clear Energy Solutions would provide me the most affordable and efficient TLC for our home. Shortly after, he put us in contact with the office where we made an appointment with Kevin. After discussing what I would be best for my needs, I decided on the full Owens Corning roof system with ridge vents. They also added a California Weave which is an intricate process that gives the roof's finish completely seamless and beautiful. I voiced my concerns with Kevin about accommodating my hectic work schedule but he assured me that Clear Energy Solutions would be able to manage my schedule which was awesome! I like to see what's going on and the sales rep, Kevin, was so understanding and flexibility to my work conflicts. The guys then finished the project in a timely matter according to our agreement which was amazing. Now that the project is done, I love my new roof and best of everything is that it comes with a 50 year warranty ! What a relief (although I doubt I'll need it since the materials used are specific to last against any weather conditions) ! I don't have anything else I'd like to upgrade on my home but once I figure out what to do next, I am definitely coming back to Clear Energy Solutions! Also, for financial purposes, their estimates and finalized pricing was phenomenal in comparison to other quotes I got from other companies. On Monday April 8, 2019 I was solicited for stucco work on my residence by Kylie. They presented their card with a San Diego telephone number showing that they are local. I excused myself from my door for a moment and ran the license number on the CSLB website and found that Clear Energy Solutions has NO LICENSED SALESPERSONS. I told Kylie to leave my property immediately. Only the actual holder of the license is allowed to sell any of their services any person coming to your door representing the company is required to be licensed as a salesperson under the main contractors license. Since Clear Energy has no licensed sales persons only the owner can come to you door to solicit their services. I also realized that they are advertising Roofing, Stucco, Patios and Painting all of which require a separate license. So they are advertising outside of their General License for Specialty work. I will be following this review with an actual complaint with the Contractors Board. Customer should be wary of doing business with this company. read more

Thorough visit from Kevin to discuss the work my mom needed for her home. He left me at ease and with confidence we were going to work together. I reached out to him to get an update and he did reply once. I reached out two more times after for a bid status and no response. If Kevin and owners did not want our business even after the consultation, I would have more than ok with it. I would have appreciated the upfront honestly and not wasting my time waiting to hear from Kevin. At this point, I do not want to do business with them because I would hate to be ignored during construction or after. All they had to do is professionally decline the job instead of ignoring me. read more
