I have a new Honda Type R and right after replacing a flat tire for $355 was visiting my mom and on the way home it happened. I'm very careful when I drive don't tailgate, stay away from the side on the roads ect., so I couldn't believe it when a rock flew up and hit my car. I didn't see anything while driving but when I got out had a chip directly under the camera. We took it in hoping for good news and spoke with Joe. he warned up that it could make the rain sensors not work but he said I feel like I can do it. I had a great feeling about him and after he did his thing the window looked great. well for the next test we turned on any sensor we could and they all worked, yay, it hasn't rained yet but I'm very optimistic. Our windshield was completely shattered by a large metal object on I-5 near Lake Shasta. We were traveling to San Francisco. Stopped in Redding and called Platinum. Rose answered and what an angel! She was so sympathetic about our situation And got us in the very next day for a windshield replacement and calibration. The bill came in $200 less than the quote... When does that ever happen? Started my vacation with a bang, a rock hit the windshield. We stayed in Redding and found Platinum Home & Auto Glass. Called and made an appointment. They have been friendly and helpful from the moment I made an appointment. When I went in I was greeted by Dawn and I let her know the situation. She called Joe and he assessed the windshield. He let us know that where the rock hit, it would be 50/50. He might be able to fix it or there would be a possibility that it would spread. Well I'm a gambler and said go ahead and try it. I am changing the rating on here because I received a call from the owner shortly after posting, who is offering me a full refund. Although it was a frustrating experience, I really appreciate them reaching out to me and taking accountability. This is what I had a originally posted for anyone who is wondering: I would not recommend this place to anyone. It was my first time coming here and I had a very bad experience. I originally scheduled an appointment on Yelp because that was an option and received a call the next day from Dawn about rescheduling the appointment. We rescheduled it for another day, but when I got there I was told that there was no appointment in the system for me on that day. The only one they had on file was the appointment that I originally set, even though I was called to have it rescheduled. I was frustrated at this moment, especially because I took time off work to be there, but I understand that mistakes happen. They told me they would look at their schedules and call me to reschedule, so I left and got a call within the next few days. We set up a new appointment and while I was on the phone with them they also asked me for my VIN, and I gave it to them. I showed up to the next appointment that we set. I had also left work early for this appointment. After about 30 minutes of waiting in the waiting room, I was called up and told that they had the wrong molding for my windshield and would need to reschedule. They day they had available was a day that I worked and I could not afford to take off more work, so they offered to come to my work. I gave them my work address and they came to change my windshield. After they finished, they called me and asked me to come down and show me something. What they showed me was that they had put the wrong windshield on my car. They ordered the windshield for the sedan when my car was the station wagon. They said that they could not put my windshield back on because they had already taken it off. They apologized and said that someone from the office would call me about it. I received a call later that day and it turns out that they had looked my car up by the make and model instead of the VIN. This was pretty frustrating because I had given them the VIN previously over the phone. Regardless, I was told that I would receive a call once they ordered the correct windshield. The receipt they gave me that day was for $325.88. but they told me not to worry about payment until they got the correct windshield on. A couple weeks passed and I did not hear anything, so I decided to call them. Dawn told me to come in that Friday at 8:00 AM. She said she would not be there, but her coworkers should be able to help me out. I was off that day, so it worked. I woke up and got ready before I received a call at 7:30 from another working letting me know that they had not received the correct windshield and that they would call me when it was in. I said okay and went back to bed. I do not know why I was told to come in the first place if it was not I would like to also point out that despite how frustrating this experience was, I was never rude to them. I was polite and understanding, even in the moments when I didn't want to be. Finally I received a call from Dawn that my windshield was in and I could come get it fixed. I was happy to just get it over with and asked to schedule it on a Friday because I would be off work. They got me in that Friday, and then it was fixed. When I went to pay, Dawn asked me how much I was quoted for this service, and I let her know I had not been given an updated quote, but the previous receipt had said $325. I still had the receipt in my bag so I double checked it. She said this time it was coming out to $345. This was the only time I was impolite, and I just said "ok whatever". My tone was less than enthusiastic, but I didn't yell or raise my voice at any point. I understand that this windshield probably costed more than the incorrect one, but after everything I'd gone through with them, it was very frustrating. She knocked it down to $323, which I appreciated, and then I paid and left. I chose this place because they gave me a good price, but it was not worth the incompetence and money wasted on gas and taking time off work. read more

Sometimes they're a little slow but every time they are fair and honest and that's why I always use them. I only mention that they are slow because it can be inconvenient for you if you have somewhere else to go and you expect to have plenty of time. I had to get my passenger side window replaced so first I called a big company and they told me they could do it in about a week. I decided to call around local businesses and called Platinum Auto Glass. The receptionist was super friendly and told me I could leave my car there overnight and that it would be in a safe secure area with cameras and that they could work on it throughout the day. First thing the next morning they called and said it was ready, I was shocked!! And the price was $100 cheaper then the quote the first place gave me! The window looked great and they vacuumed the car and cleaned all the glass from the broken window. You'd never know there was a broken window or broken glass scattered everywhere. I own a bar that I'm remodeling and I was referred to by platinum glass by a contractor to have them replace the glass for my front doors. Platinum glass told me that they can and WOULD do the work and will call to order the parts for the required panic hardware. They said they can have the work done by July 4th (due to me wanting July 4th as my original opening day). This was back in May. Well in June, weeks later, after having to reach out to them multiple times I finally got ahold of Donnie. He informed me that the supplies he ordered won't get here until July 10th. They didnt even care to let me know. I told Donnie that would not work. So I called Cottonwood Glass and they came in the next week and got the front door done and it passed inspection. They still promised to get the side door done but instead they pawned it off to another glass company named Western Glass. Overall, Platinum didn't do any work and made a bunch of promises that they could not keep. Do NOT use them. Go with Cottonwood Glass or Western Glass in Redding. read more

Had my windshield replaced on my 2015 BMW today. Great customer service. The only problem was they said it would take an hour or an hour and a half but it took two and a half hours. Job looks good windshield looks good. They also give a great veterans discount. I saved $100 with the veterans discount. I recommend all veterans call and check their price before they take their Auto somewhere else. Veterans need to support the businesses that give veterans discounts. It shows they appreciate the veterans and what they have done for this country. I suggested veterans stop doing business with businesses that do not offer veteran discounts. Always ask the business if they give veteran discounts. If not go elsewhere. read more

The worst! They did damage to our Mercedes when installing a new windshield. They cut one of the window side panels snd chipped paint on both when removing them to install the new windshield. They are not standing behind their work and claiming they did not cause the damage. The young technician even could not attest as to wether he did the damage or not.when asked by the office person if he had before or after pictures he did not. He had erased them. Very convenient. As the saying goes: "You never get a second chance to make a good first impression." And mine was unfortunately not a good one. On the negative side, after extended wait times, statements and promises not fulfilled, a weeks delay, having to schedule a second appointment, multiple conversations with the business owner and front staff and a change in the glass installer, the windshield replacement was completed and finished correctly. Bummer! On the positive side, the waiting area has AC, comfortable couches, reading materials, a variety of snacks & beverages, TV, WiFi and an easy off I-5 location.
