BEWARE of this business!!!! Recently had my windshield replaced by them and I was falsely charged for them apparently calibrating the camera in my windshield. It is complete fraud to charge for a service when that company doesnt even offer that service. Im sure im not the only victim for this fraud and will be reporting these people for fraud! read more

I needed a custom window for my 90 Jeep Wrangler, after market half door. Ray removed the broken window and told me he would have to make/cut a piece of glass to fix it. I went to Ray's thinking getting the window fixed was going to be a headache and probably wouldn't function properly again. Ray was extremely knowledgeable and confident in his ability to fix it. Ray fixed my window and even lined the window tract with felt to keep the window protected. I am very pleased with the work Ray did fixing the window and ensuring it functions correctly. Was going to use their company to do the windshield of one of my company's work trucks, but the lady who answered the phone was so unpleasant, rude, and unhelpful that we've decided to take our business across the street to All Auto Glass. The gentleman over there was so nice on the phone and they even keep a wide array of windshields in stock so they can see us right away, unlike Big Ray's. In short, if customer service means something to you, definitely steer clear of this place. Side note: I originally only posted this review on Google, but have since been threatened with legal action (?), so now it's going on every other platform. News flash, you can't sue someone for sharing their negative opinion of your business. Preventing negative reviews is as simple as... wait for it... good customer service! Amazing, right? read more

Big Ray's is okay. Got an appointment scheduled 1 week out. On the day of the work it was completed in the time they stated even though the process was a bit tricky. Everybody there was friendly and helpful. Ray is a good guy and knows what he is doing. On a side note, with an hour to kill why waiting it was handy that Harbor Freight was next door. Took my sister's van back into Ray's after they had replaced windshield for irritating whistling noise. They would not admit there was noise coming from windshield. But they fiddled around and did something, the windshield whistling became twice as bad afterwards. We will have to now take it to a repair place that knows what they're doing. In High School during my car flipping days I had a 2005 ish? Pontiac Grand Am and the driver's side window fell off the tracks because the little plastic clips just broke from old age. That super irritating front desk lady told me you can't buy the plastic clips anymore so I have to replace the entire track and motor system which was like $600. Drove straight to the GM dealership and not only did they have the clips in stock, they just gave them to me for free because they were like $.06 each. Some people see a young person and their first thought is to try to take advantage of them. Others try to help them. Be the latter. read more

Replaced my windshield mid December 2019, it's now February 5th and my mirror fell off this morning taking a large chunk of glass out with it, they used a sub-par to oem windshield in a $70,000 truck and claim it's how the "glass industry" is making glass now, first off I was promised a OEM windshield, ended up with a garbage pilkington and a very rude woman answering the phone. Guess the moneys more important than a operator having a solid glass connect. I'll be sure to share my experience. read more

I got a cracked windshield while driving down I5. I called Big Ray's and spoke to a receptionist who was kind and helpful. They were able to get me in a few days later. They were on time when I arrived and got my windshield finished in the time frame they promised. After leaving I realized I left my water bottle in the waiting area and asked if I could come get it tomorrow. When I pulled in the next day Ray came running out with my water bottle in hand so I didn't even have to get out of my car. I would definitely use them again but hopefully I won't need to. read more

I have had 4 windshields in 4 different vehicles. replaced by Big Ray. over a period of many years. I make a point to wait till I'm the Redding area to have Ray do my windshields. Because he's the best and the most reasonable ( and the quote over the phone does not change!) . I live mostly in Oregon but despite the Ca sales tax I elect to come here. The very first windshield Ray did for me was in my little 4x4 Toyota Tercel. . As it turned out there was rust all along the rim of the frame once the windshield was removed. Ray wire brushed it and put on a rust inhibitor. I kept expecting an additional charge but it never came up; You will not go wrong with Big Ray & his wife. I took my FJ Cruiser in to have a piece of molding put on the windshield. The people who put in my stereo had broken the clips that held down the molding. The people at Big Ray's went above and beyond. They were so helpful and just great all around people. Wish there was something lower than 1 star, because this "business" does not even deserve the one star. So I took my vehicle into Big Rays on Hartnell to get my front windshield replaced. When I got it back it was at night (first mistake) make sure it is still daylight out so that you can look over the work BEFORE you pay for it. The next day I decide to take a look at it and at the bottom of the windshield the Cowling (which is the black part the covers the very bottom of the windshield so that you don't actually see the bottom of the windshield) was cut and the windshield was completely exposed. I called to speak with Ray and he stated to me that he thought it would look better that way because my previous cowling was a little old. I would have liked to have gotten a phone call asking me what I would have liked done to MY car. I was told by Big Ray that it's too late now if I buy another Cowling he'll put it on for me....BUY ANOTHER COWLING???? I don't want to buy another one I want mine not to be cut, which by the way looks like a 2 year old cut it its not even straight!! On top of that I have a rain sensor that connects to my windshield, which i had to pay $50 extra to have (no problem I paid the $50.00) then the 1st day it rained was 3 days ago (which was about 2 weeks after I had the windshield replaced) and my rain sensor does NOT work at all. However it worked great before I took it in to Big Rays. I called yesterday to ask why it no longer works and I will find out tomorrow what he will do to fix it I have an appt. to bring it in and I will update this post about what he does. My guess is he will say well buy a new rain sensor and I will put it on for you. When my original rain sensor worked fine before this company worked on my car! A little advice do NOT take it to Big Ray, I know they are a little cheaper than most of the other places around Redding, but pay the $50 more and take it somewhere else, trust me it's not worth it!! read more

my windshield on my 2002 doge Dakota was installed by big rays , when I got the truck back the top seal between the windshield and cab was all distorted and wrinkled they said that's normal that it should settle, well it didn't and it rained and filled my truck up with water on the passenger side, here is my gripe , when I took it back the lady made one excuse after the other when all I wanted was the problem taken care of . I know we as people are not perfect and mistakes happen, this bad review could have been avoided if she would have said sorry for the inconvenience we will take care of it, instead of laying the blame on everything else. I paid good money . she was rude and acted like I was putting her out for something that should have been correct in the first place. I will never use big rays auto glass again. read more
