First time at the Gladly and I would come back for the banana bread pudding. The baker did such a phenomenal job with this dessert. It wasn't overly sweet and the ice cream was such a nice touch. My second favorite thing was the short rib, unfortunately I only have a blurry photo of it, it was tender, juicy and really flavorful. Their Mac and cheese was actually such a let down. It wasn't cheesy enough and a little watery, the consistency wasn't quite right. Drinks wise, I really enjoyed the Thai margaritas. For someone who isn't too big on too sweet drinks it was perfect. It's a great date night place. The staff was warm and attentive, and the guy who refilled my water looked a bit like Freddy Mercury. They really cared that everything met their standards. So glad for The Gladly!! Upscale ambiance! Food and drinks appeared quickly right after ordering, as if the chef could read your mind and make your food magically appear!! Started with that one drink (yes, that's what it's called). It was good, but a little too tart for me. The shrimp cocktail was alright, nothing special. It came with a creamy sauce and cocktail sauce. I preferred the cocktail sauce. I don't recommend the brussel sprouts here. Very bland and not much aromatic flavor. On the other hand, the scallops were solid! Not the best scallops I've had, but pretty solid! The Gladly is not the best restaurant out there if u want mouthwatering flavorful dishes. Their dishes are mildly flavored, which is better for u in general, as I think they go really easy on the salt! The Gladly is definitely where u need to dine if u have celiacs disease. Stopped by for a quick happy hour drink before dinner elsewhere. Place was pretty empty around 3:30p on a Friday which allowed for a nice relaxing vibe. The bartenders were quick to take our order and super friendly! My husband ordered the Gladly Whiskey old fashioned and I had an espresso martini. We paid an extra $3 for the ice ball and it was totally worth it! Such a fun thing to watch as the bartender described the process to us. Their flavors are so unique on the menu! I like to see different variations of popular American menu items on menus. I know they're known for their chopped salad, but get the crudo first! I'm keeping this version of a chopped salad in my repertoire. Definitely will be recreating when I get home. They have the salad in a nice striped design when they bring it out and then mix it right in front of you like a work of art! The waiter told me this salad keeps them in business. The crudo was amazing! The sauce was mild but slightly sweet like lemon and the pickled onions gave it a nice zest. The fish was so tender, fresh, and non-stringy. Wow wow wow -- this restaurant, ambience and service are truly delightful. My server, Fabian (sp?), was just wonderful -- friendly, and really helped me navigate my gluten free options. I began with "That One Drink," a concoction of vodka; orange marmalade reduction and Elderflower. Delicious! My starter was the roasted Brussels on a bed of incredibly creamy sweet corn polenta, finished with Pecorino and truffle oil. Honest to God, I could have licked the plate clean of that polenta! For my entree, I chose the Original Chopped Salad, eliminating the couscous and having steak, rather than salmon. Also wonderful! The homemade buttermilk dressing beautifully sets off all the flavors of the salad. The interior is industrial and inviting, and there are lovely outdoor seating areas, as well as nice architectural landscaping. The Gladly has been around for about 10 years, and it's no wonder. It was completely unplanned but ended up becoming one of my favorite dining experiences in Phoenix. They earned its title as a Whisky bar. There is a nice tweak in every cocktail on their menu, so I picked "coffee & cigarettes" . It tasted smoky and delicate, really love it. The chopped salad is a must. This is a great restaurant for lunch or dinner right on the Camelback corridor. It's a little bit west of the Biltmore and you don't have any issues with parking, like you often do over there. This is my first time visiting and I will definitely be back because the food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly. Once again a fabulous experience at The Gladly! We started at the bar for the Thai Margarita it is to die for, so delicious. We had their shrimp cocktail app which is like no other, many, many shrimp. Definitely enough for 2. We then sat down for my birthday dinner and had their pork dish which was their special last night. A succulent melt in your mouth dish with a sauce that was actual perfection. We ended the night with their brownie and ice cream and the rocky road mix around the brownie elevated the dessert ten fold. Not only is the food fantastic here but the people hired here are always superior. Our female bartender was delightful and our waiter went out of his way to meet our every need. What initially caught my eye on the menu was the Thai Margarita, and it did not disappoint. It was rich, flavorful, and downright delicious. Just tried Gladly for the first time and I was not let down by how tasty the food was there! I did not realize the same owners also own Citizen Public House, another amazing restaurant in the Phoenix Area, until I ordered the famous chopped salad. This salad is so iconic at Citizen Public House that I realized instantly they must have the same owners. Hat's off to the chef! I also had the artichoke dip which was yummy. The Poke was really good with limited ingredients, but was preferred because it can get overwhelming with too many options. Nice fresh tuna, and salmon, including avocado, cucumbers, onions, and a sauce that was very thick like an aïoli, but wasn't as tasty and actually rather bland. The seared yellowfin tuna was exceptionally good with a nice ginger sauce mixture! Service was responsive and friendly. So The Gladly has always been a favorite restaurant of mine... especially if I need accommodations. In previous reviews I stated how at times I had to be off dairy and they were always so good at accommodating and making the food delicious. So we decided to go to The Gladly with some friends to introduce them to the restaurant and restaurant week. We were quickly seated inside at a booth. I noticed the outside patio had been enclosed and redone so it was a bit more private and added to the restaurant dining experience. Our server came, took our orders and then left. She came back once and one of us requested another drink, as she walked away, we tried to get her attention to add on another drink and she ignored us. So the next time she came by, I asked her if we could order another bartender creation... the likes and dislikes were given...and... it..never..came.. unfortunately this was for one of the friends who we had brought with us. I was highly disappointed. Our server went from okay to poor... in the middle of our dining experience it was like she just disappeared. When she finally came back with our check, she didn't ask if we wanted it split... so then we had to wait for her to come close again, get her attention and ask her to split the check. Besides the service... the waters were continuously filled by other staff and the food was absolutely delicious..our friends were extremely impressed with the food. Up to this point they had said they had not found a place they would choose to frequent. After trying the food here, they said they would totally come again. While I was glad the lack of service didn't sway them, I'm always disappointed when the experience is lacking... especially when introducing someone to the place you have come to love... and know how good the WHOLE experience can actually be. read more

This was our first visit The Gladly, and it was on Christmas Eve. We made a reservation... And it's a good thing that we did because they were very busy. From the minute, we walked in through the entire meal the vibe throughout the restaurant was very upbeat and professional. But people really seem to be having a lot of fun. Our server Liz was a phenomenal. We made it in time for a couple happy hour drinks and appetizers, which were excellent. We also bought the ice ball and Liz demonstrated how they make them and explained the whole process to us. It was very interesting. A portion of the cost for the ice ball was donated to their charity for the month. Three of our party got the special for the evening and I got the salmon. The portions were large, super tasty and well prepared. A couple of us ended up, taking home a doggy bag. This was our first visit... But it will definitely not be our last. We were quite impressed with the restaurant, as well as the employees. In addition, one of the main reasons we chose the restaurant is because they do a great job with offering gluten free items. Was in Phoenix and got stellar references to The Gladly, and they are deservedly so. We got a lot of the happy hour menu, like the Brussel Sprouts (on grits), the Pretzel and sausage. The Commander burger is simply great. But the best imho is the Chopped Salad, so much so that I'm trying to replicate it at home! I know I won't have their herb buttermilk dressing or their dried super sweet corn, but I can still dream I'm there. Their drink menu has selections across everything I like but was in a bourbon mood so got the Manhattan (from their draft prep), and it was classic and good with perfect balance. Was that one drink which I did not enjoy very tart. I did enjoy the Thai margarita drink this had a nice flavor and the tajin on the rim Made it even better. I was torn between the short rib and the salmon and ended up going with the Norwegian salmon, the mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts that came with the salmon were tasty, but the salmon itself could've used a little bit more seasoning. my friend got the sweet mashed potatoes and I actually really enjoyed those. For our appetizer, we decided on the spinach dip. I did not enjoy it as it was too spicy for me. I like my spinach dip, creamy and rich. Who knows I may give this place another another shot!! One of my best friends (who happens to be the CHRO of Phoenix Children's Hospital) invited me to dinner at the Gladly. The food was delicious, and because I was going to be back in Phoenix the following week, I took my husband to lunch here. We split the baby iceberg wedge and each had a burger. I don't know what they put in their salad, but it was probably the BEST salad I've ever had. The burgers were excellent, but I could eat this salad all day long. We returned a month later; it was the Gladly for dinner. Again, that baby iceberg wedge. It was as good as I remembered. We had the filet and halibut. Yum. Last night I met my buddy after a work event at The Gladly. I have been here once before with my wife, and really enjoyed the rather extensive whiskey selection. I had a great four roses Manhattan straight up, but then I decided to stick around and we hung out at the bar and grabbed dinner. I had their salmon which was excellent and cooked to perfection. Stephanie and Andy at the bar were great hosts and made it a fun experience . I was searching for some new options for my bourbon palette and asked for things that would possibly compete with what I think is among the best in taste - Garrison Brothers Balmorhea. It was suggested that I try this Stagg Jr. and it was wonderful. Overall, we had a great night, hanging out, enjoying the food, the ambience, and certainly the Bourbon!
