I went in on a slow Thursday about 530p, I asked for Steak Bite, med rare, when they finally came out, shoe leather is more tender. They were extremely well done. I asked for raw horse, got creamy. Asked for fry sauce for my onion ring, got nothing. Ordered a double bulleit rye on the rocks, when I asked when my drink was coming, the bartender said she already delivered it to me. What she did was delivered to the wrong table. The only good was another bartender named McKinsey, that I guess normally works mornings tried to make things right. The Kenzie gets four stars. The rest of the staff gets zero. I will never go in at night again, there's way too many bars in Eugene Springfield area to be treated like this. Was pleasantly surprised that their breakfast pancakes are buttery and light. I do highly recommend their corn-beef hash; it's made with sliced up cornbeef, hash browns, bell peppers and onions! Very casual ambience. The only thing I would improve is their service, some of the girls are very nice but the communication every time I go there between servers is off. You'll get asked the same thing several times by different servers. Food is consistent I have to say. Always love all the Cheescake options as there are so many flavors. I have been here many times. The food was always good and it was fairly clean. Today the food was subpar and it was noticeably dirty. The service is always good. A friend took my wife and I out to dinner her one night. While my dinner was mediocre, my wife loved her small steak salad. The next night we didn't feel like going out. I thought it woud be safe to order 2 of the full size steak bite salads to go to take back to the hotel. When we got back to hotel we discovered that neither one was medium rare as ordered. My wife's was medium which she was able to eat. Mine was well done. I called the restaurant and talked to Allie (sp) told her that our meal was disgusting for $53.00. She apologized and said she would refund the charges. I ended up throwing away my steak and ate the salad. Never did get the refund and couldn't dispute because I didn't have it in writing. Dismal. Order a Reuben and it was the smallest Reuben I've ever seen. The rye bread was the size of regular sandwich bread, it had three slices of meat on it, plenty of onions, and a small dollop of dressing. We had high hopes for this sports bar as it always seemed to have a full parking lot during Game Days but the food was less than satisfactory. It was clean and well kept and the wait staff was pleasant and prompt but the quality of the food we ordered was sadly lacking for a number of reasons. The medium-rare hamburger was overdone. The Eggs Benedict sauce was no facsimile of what a good sauce should taste like. The eggs were both overdone. The ham was ample and acceptable and the best part of the presentation.. Too little , too late. I regret not finding anything in these two meals to bring us back as we love their layout and convenience to where we reside. Maybe returning just for their substantial beer list would be reason enough to stop in when you're not hungry. I probably should have read other Yelp reviews as their list of good experiences seems limited to steak bits, chicken wings and pizza. read more

They also have specials every day of the week with some very good choices. The only suggestion I will make is they could add a couple of seafood options, maybe salmon? Hands down, this is literally my favorite restaurant in Eugene/Springfield . Everything about this restaurant is excellent. The servers and bartenders are extremely friendly. The food is always amazing - breakfast, lunch and dinner . The ambience is laid back and welcoming . Brian , you rock! I have never ever had a bad experience here . I love their tacos , southwest salad , STEAK BITES, tater tots, and their cider . They have a lovely enclosed patio with a fire pit which is great to sit by on colder days. They are a wonderful restaurant for birthday celebrations, romantic dates and watching sporting events . We love Gateway Grill! Their breakfast is our favorite to stop in for. Great staff and a chill little dive bar atmosphere.

Three stars is perfect for this spot. It's nothing special, but offers a wide variety of foods at a very basic level. Service was pretty friendly, but again nothing wild. I'd recommend sticking with breakfast foods as the bar type food wasn't as tasty in my opinion. Parking is widely available. read more

Nice atmosphere, and friendly staff. The menu is big but there are some recommendations and some warnings. DO try the soups, they are very tasty and satifying. Also thier steak bites and california salad are my usual go to's. The sandwiches and burgers are good, but average for most places around. DO NOT get the fried shrimp here, the shrimp were mushy and covered with some much breading you can't taste the shrimp. I also do not recommend the fried zucchini here. It too was mushy on the inside with too much breading. I do recommend leaving room for dessert. They alwags have a great selection of home made treats. read more

Well, the awesome waitress was kind enough to have us go up to the bar, from our table, to ask for refills. She was too busy petting a dog that a customer brought in and texting on her phone. Oh, and post Covid-19, she washed her bare hands frequently (sarcasm).... Handling money or petting a customer's dog, why would a food worker need to wash their hands. Their service is TERRIBLE! We were waiting to be seat for a long time and we asked waitress but she was rude. We noticed waiter/waitress tends one to other here to there all over. It was unorganized. We noticed too many dirty cups piles on the bar (next to front door). Dirty plates piles corner here to there. We waited forever to get our drink. First waitress forgot. Second waiter (maybe it's manager??) forgot. Third waitress forgot it. Then first waitress finally got our drinks. Then third waitress checked to make sure we got drinks.
