We arrived at 8:15 on the dot and were told by the hostess we were lucky we arrived when we did because she was just about to give our table away. We were on time and didn't arrive early as we didn't want to have to wait outside in the cold! Honestly, her attitude was a total turn off and as she seated us she wasn't any friendlier! As a new restaurant it left a very poor impression! The food was okay! The chowder was a huge disappointment! Very little seafood in the seafood chowder, a lot of cream! My husband and I got takeout from the front yard while visiting Wells Maine. I got the New York's sirloin and my husband got the Atlantic salmon. Both were very good. They didn't knock your socks off but they were good. One small gripe that I had was that the utensils that they gave you were one step above KFC's sporks. read more

Just wondering what your policy is on time limits on tables and larger parties? We were 18 in the party, reservations had been made for that amount of people at a set time. 7:30 pm. We arrived, all together, and the table was not ready. We watched the staff scurry to get it set. We ordered cocktails, apps, entrees and had to ask for dessert, it was not offered, nor was coffee offteed or after dinner cocktails . The waiter then announced to the table at approximately 9:15 pm that we had to leave. This was AFTER the check had been presented to the host of the gathering, which she paid and added an extra gratuity above the usual 20 percent for larger parties. Great ambiance on the outdoor patio, especially when the lights go on after dark. Caesar salad was outstanding. My wife had the seafood risotto and loved it. I had the lobster in vodka sauce over homemade pappardelle pasta. Also delicious. My only criticism is that both sauces were creamy and thus quite heavy. Overall recommend! read more

Was staying in the area for vacation, decided this place looked good and wanted to give it a try. Checked their website to make sure of the hours, said was "open daily from "4:00 pm-12:00 am". Well got there and they weren't open, apparently they're closed Sundays and Mondays. Would have been nice to know. Good idea to Update your website. read more

This place never disappoints. We come up from Boston about 1-2 times a year and this is always stop #1. Our most recent trip we had Tiffany as a server and she was absolutely fantastic. We had reservations for a Saturday at 5:30. We arrived and were seated right away. We happened to be seated right near a large and loud party, no fault of the restaurant. My date moved his seat to sit beside me rather than across from me so we could hear one another. A woman, Janet, came over to be sure we were okay. We said yes, but it was loud. She moved us outside at our request near heaters and peace! Thank you Janet! Our dinners, from salad to steak tips and short ribs were perfect. Our server, Ashley, so attentive and friendly! A restaurant can have the most amazing food, which this one has, but it takes one very BAD server to absolutely ruin your night. Our server was Andre, please please please, do not seat on his section. He completely forgot to put the side dishes for my husband's entree, and after waiting for over 40 minutes for it, with his actual entree on the table with no side dishes and getting cold, we asked him about it and he looked at us like we had 3 heads, like HUH??????, he completely lied to us about not putting the side dishes through, and then he went and put the side dishes orders. We could hear him talking to someone about it. Like I said the food is delicious. The service was deplorable. We still tipped the server 20%. In general, we were very pleased with this restaurant. We ate outside due to Covid. The atmosphere was nice. My wife and I both got the seafood chowder, and both really liked it. My wife ordered the steak tips as an entree, and I got the seafood risotto. Both were very good. We skipped dessert. Our waiter was very attentive. The only issue we had was the pace of serving...it was a little too quick. We got our appetizers very soon after we placed our order. Our main courses were served just as we were finishing our soup...literally as we put our spoons down. So, overall, a very nice restaurant...they should just have slowed down the service so we could appreciate it more. read more

great location. we sat at the bar and bartender was excellent. the food was a bit average. we ordered a few apps. octopus, flatbread and salad. the flatbread was a premade piece of dough that was precooked with non fresh ingredients. the salad was very expensive for what it was. all in, we had bar food, not really restaurant offerings. read more

Really bad experience here. Party of 2 on our anniversary. To begin with The dining room is very unwelcoming. Very strange layout and we were at a table shoved too close to other tables and also there was a structural post right at the table. Very awkward. In any event the server came by within a few minutes and took our drink orders and provided us water. Drinks came out slow maybe 15 Mins. We ordered mussels to start. My wife said they tasted off and did not have many of them. I finished them which was a big mistake. More on that in a bit. So we ordered dinner. 35 minutes later and no entrees. We hunted down the server and made an inquiry. He said the kitchen was behind yet it would be out in a few minutes. 15 minutes later and nothing we hunt him down again and he asked what we ordered. WTF. He said he would check. 10 Minutes go by and nothing. Parties have come and gone while we were sitting here. It's now been an hour since we ordered entrees. I get t up to find the manager. He apologies and says he will look into it. 5 minutes later he comes back and says the kitchen is preparing it now and it will be out in 10 Minutes. 20 minutes later our entrees arrive. The entrees were mediocre. So for our anniversary try beginner we were there for 2 hours and 20 minutes total. The worst part is I woke up that night at 2am and was sick until 5am. Slept on the bathroom floor. The muscles were bad obviously. The worst part of this whole experience is that although they did not charge us for the entrees the bill was still 110 bucks. Our waiter was horrific, the Maitre D was an embarrassment and the manager simply did not care. Worst anniversary night we ever experienced thanks to the Front Yard. And they knew it was our anniversary as it was in the reservation and the maitre d recognize that when we first arrived. This place is a disgrace. Stay away!!!! read more

The night started off on a bad note when the inexperienced rude waitress was put out because we didn't want our table in the parking lot. She threw the menus down when we finally got a better table. Maybe the manager should tell the hostess that dressing like you are going tj the gym isn't a great outfit for work. The Caesar salad was delicious. The waiter was very nice and attentive. But that's where it ends. The filet mignon was so overbooked that it was like pot roast. The lobster tail was like rubber. My husbands swordfish was marinated in Italian dressing. Beyond terrible. Sat at 7:10. Placed order. Drinks, salad course and entree. Got the drinks right away. One hour later no salad or entree. Complained to the manager. 10 minutes later our salad course and entrees came out together. No apology. As our entrees were a complex seafood dish we did not want both courses together. The manager stated that the entrees took 30 minutes to prepare so he could not take them back. I told him that was not my problem. The salads should have been served a half hour earlier . We ate the salads and left. The manager deserves a 0 rating. Would never go back there and never recommend the restaurant to anyone. Purely rude service and management. read more

Five stars because we could not find any faults. Food is first rate I had steak tips that were tender juicy an expertly seasoned. Wife had meatballs that she said was best ever. I was unable to update my previous review, so its a shame I can't give 7 stars. We did eventually make it back to The Front Yard. We ate outside on the patio and everything about the experience was superlative. The food, in particular, was a treat with the standouts being the Octopus and Gambas al Ajillo (starters) and Bouillabaisee, Rack of Lamb and Jumbo Scallops (mains). The service was fantastic and the ambience was perfect for a relaxing meal. I would highly recommend a visit next time you are in Ogunquit! read more

Nice find! This was our first time here and it was a nice table under the tent with heaters. Our server was pleasant and the pace of the meal was pretty good. Cocktails were perfect and our anticipation built as we perused the menu. We shared the pear arugula salad which was outstanding. I had the sea scallops served on a bed of mashed potato with grilled asparagus with beurre blanc sauce, which was delicious. My husband ordered the marinated steak tips with root vegetables medium rare. Unfortunately they were served well done, but management offered to correct this, so we will give it another try in the future. read more
