We love flourbox donuts and have come to get them many times by now. Every time there's around a 1.5hr wait. Today, pregnant mama was craving cinnamon rolls so we planned all week to come and get them. Here's how the cinnamon rolls were: Fluffy and soft, inside and out. Tasteful amount of frosting. Light cinnamon sugar nestled between layers. Personally, I like my cinnamon rolls slightly undercooked and doughy in the middle. I also like have more cinnamon sugar, so that it kind of oozes. These are not that. They are cooked perfectly the whole way, no doughy center, but also no hard/dry exterior. The cinnamon sugar is light, not syrupy or drippy. The entire thing was sweet, but not too sweet. Were they good? Yes. Would I wait 1.5hrs next time? Probably not. The macrina cinnamon rolls are just fine without the wait in my opinion. The matcha latte paired well with the cinnamon roll, and the two complimented each other. Will come back for more donuts next time though!

every 2 weeks the flavor change and recently there were Indian inspired doughnuts - Kheer, chocolate tahini, mango lassi, and carrot halwa all of them were chefs kiss! Our group could not stop talking about it! Really hope these flavors come back, or stay for longer!!

I've heard so much buzz about this place, but I'm wondering if my hour-long wait is really worth it. I STAND CORRECTED! It is definitely worth the wait! I've bought two of each kind of donuts. The maximum purchase is eight donuts per person. Flavor for the month were: HOKEY POKEY CARROT CHEESECAKE MATCHA CREAM YUZU CURD Even after three days in the fridge, they were still amazing! The specialty item that day was the STICKY TOFFEE CAKE. Again maximum was 2 per person. Now I totally why it's so popular! It's my absolute favorite! You can now add me to your fan base list!

The Flour Box is a delightfully cute bakery, but you should definitely be prepared for a bit of a wait. The lines here are notoriously long, and I genuinely wish they offered an option for pick-up orders to help bypass the crowd outside. That being said, once you finally get inside, the service is impressively quick. The ambiance is very charming and welcoming. I picked up a latte alongside a sea salt brownie and three donuts: honeycomb, yuzu, and matcha. The honeycomb donut was easily my favorite of the bunch. The absolute best part of the entire experience, though, is the actual dough of the donuts. The texture and flavor of the bread itself are phenomenal and truly set their pastries apart from other spots in Seattle. Overall, the baked goods are fantastic and well worth trying. If the ordering process was just a little more convenient, it would easily be five stars!

The Flour Box is very well known, rightfully so. Lines always form before they open, but it's much better than waiting in line while they're open. Show up earlier and spend less of your day waiting. Seating is available, but expect it to be cold (outdoors with a cover). A bit overhyped (most things are) but delicious and worth a visit. High quality, rotating flavors, consistency, and limited stock draw the crowd. Gen-Matcha Latte - honestly pretty basic, very similar to coffee shop matcha. The overall drink was milkier than desired and the matcha isn't too potent, but it can satisfy the craving if there's no better options or there's a time crunch. With the rise of matcha specialty places, I'd consider matcha elsewhere. Roasted Banana - at $5.50 a donut, it's pricey, but worth trying at least once, maybe twice, three times, or more. Banana is a fairly powerful flavor and here it's also creamy, smooth, and not too sweet. I can imagine ripe bananas are used here meaning minimal added sugar, because the filling isn't that sweet. The brioche itself is a wonderful fluff and I feel like the sprinkled sugar on top is sweeter than the filling. Okinawa Sweet Potato - at $5.75 a donut, the 25 cent increase could be attributed with the tasty mochi sealing the filling. Joking, I'm sure the ingredients for this filling can be pricier plus the labor is a bit more effort. Sweet potato is a classic taste that ube and taro lovers will enjoy. The nutty potato flavors are roasted with a coconut flavor, there's a faint smokiness while not being overwhelmingly sweet.

The Flour Box needs no introduction, and frankly probably doesn't even need this review. But the photos I took during my most recent visit are so pretty I figured I may as well put them up here! This round of flavors was their best one yet, the Yuzu was so fresh and sour while the Kimchi one was original and satisfying. My favorite was the Jasmine milk tea one, the tea accent in the cream was so beautiful. I waited 1 hour 45 minutes total this time, I usually come once every 2 or 3 months when I see a round of flavors i feel especially passionate about. I hope to see them continue to lean into making more original flavors, especially asian ones :)

There's a line. The wait is worth it. We got a variety of flavors but The Winter Cold Brew was my fave- the filling was light - but rich with coffee flavor rounded off with a a smooth orange flavor. The quality of the donuts is fantastic and soft and PACKED with the quality fillings. Can't go here every day but if you've got the time you should make it.

My friend follows The Flour Box on Instagram and saw their special donut offerings: Jasmine Milk Tea, Red Bean Cream, Yuzu Curd and Kimchi Everything! We went on a Friday morning and when we arrived there was already a line out the door. I've been here before when the line snaked around the block, so seeing the line only at the corner of the street made us feel lucky. When we got inside we saw the display of donuts. They looked amazing! I love their attention to detail to create a wonderful sight of each donut. My friend ordered one of each flavor and specific ones for her two friends. I ordered the Yuzu Curd and Jasmine Milk Tea donuts. We also ordered their special drinks; banana milk and orange vanilla latte. The Jasmine Milk Tea donut had a nice flavor. It didn't overwhelm me, but then I took a bite of the Yuzu Curd donut. I could taste the sweetness of the donut and the tangy tartness of the lemon curd! It tasted great! My friend ate her Kimchi Everything donut and loved it. She saved the other donuts for later. I saved the other halves of my donuts for my partner, but I wished I had gotten another Yuzu Curd donut for myself! If you like creative, beautiful donuts with interesting flavors, you must go to The Flour Box. They do an amazing job with the donuts, plus the presentation is top notch.

I love these donuts and every time I go back I'm always wow-ed by the different flavors. I love that they rotate the flavors every few weeks. I like the more savory donuts better but they're all so tasty and consistent. Service is friendly and quick. There's plenty of space to sit and enjoy the donuts and drinks after purchasing, they have some merchandise and other items for purchase by the front. Worth the wait in line every time, get there a half hour to an hour before opening to secure the goods.

I absolutely LOVE coming to Flour Box and trying their new biweekly flavors of brioche donuts. Although the line does get extremely long (and I do recommend coming at least 30 mins before opening to hop in line) they're worth the wait. It's also very cute inside the cafe area in and outside so I'd recommend stopping for a bit to enjoy your order.

The best donuts I have had yet! This place is a very popular one! I tend to steer clear of places with long lines because hype usually dies down but this is not the case for the flour box. They have a consistent line and wait every day that they are open but it is completely understandable why. Their rotating flavors make visiting this place fun and they usually space out repeating flavors. They also have great matching flavors for holiday occasions. My biggest piece of advise is to keep up with their line and their flavors on their social media. They will usually update their estimated wait time on their instagram story! I have visited this place close to 10 times and each time the wait has been longer than 25 minutes but I have never waited more than 1 hour. It is honestly a great weekend activity with company! Some of my favorite flavors include their caramel biscoff, cold brew, brownie, and so many more! The cream filling flavors are always spot on and just right. The donut itself also takes the cake when it comes to this style of donut! I recommend getting there early so flavors that you want don't run out and finding street parking in the nearby neighborhood. Do bring patience and good company and your morning will be set!

Food and drink: both the Evergreen State and the Gingerbread cream were delicious. Also, my boyfriend won't stop raving about the coffee, and I thought the hot chocolate was perfect. Everything was just sweet enough. Service: fast and friendly Ambiance: clean and cozy We arrived at 9:40am and the line was already nearing the corner. It was worth the wait. It's rare to get a five star review from me. The Flour Box earned it.

Absolutely love this gem - the best brioche donuts in Washington by far. Every flavor is well thought out and unique. You call tell they use all fresh ingredients. They have the best rotating menu for not just donuts, but also espresso/tea drinks, and occasional miscellaneous desserts. Highly recommend Shy Bear Fog (an oolong tea drink). The line out the door is intimidating but it usually goes a lot quicker than expected. I'm usually able to find an open seat in their lounge area whenever I visit close to opening. Keep an eye on their Instagram stories for real-time updates on their inventory.

Ask the Community - The Flour Box

    What's the parking situation like?

Very small parking lot. Fills up very fast. One handicap spot. Most likely you'll have to park on the street but typically plenty of parking easily within a block or two.

Does this place still have the very long lines or has it died down as of 10/20/24?

Apparently every day can be different. The best way to find out is to follow their IG. They just had a short hiatus, and the line seems to be longer than before since they reopened this Saturday.

Do they have cinnamon rolls every day?

No, but they have different treats daily.

What's the reason behind their current "wait in line until we sell out" model? I have been wanting to try them for a long time but I live a 30 min drive away and think it's a little wonky to drive there with no guarantee of getting an order filled.

They're very transparent about doughnuts possibly selling out while you're in line before it gets to your turn. Taking that risk is entirely up to you. There's never a 100% guarantee you'll go home with doughnuts, but I used to I lived 20 minutes… Read more

    Are they open on Easter?

    Yes they are

Is this place open on Thanksgiving Day?

    They are not

What time does the line start forming?

I arrived on a beautiful sunny day in the summer around 9:15am and the line was halfway down the block. We got our donuts a little bit after 10:30am (they opened a bit early that day as well).

Is there a limit to the number of donuts we can buy per person? I'm seeing photos of the chalkboard showing that there is a 3 donut per person limit and another showing that you can buy a dozen donuts at a time.

They currently do not have any limits! They used to have limits a while back but those aren't in effect at this time.

Are they open at 10AM or 11AM? Yelp says 11 but their website says 10. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    10am!

Why are the hours so limited 3 hours 4 days a week?

Because that's all they can handle at this time. Having a business is not easy 🤦🏻‍♀️

When will it open in hillman city?

Hoping for a May 2020 opening! :) Likely late May. Stay updated on Instagram at @theflourboxseattle!

Through several visits: Baguette, Large ($7.95) - Great baguette with bubbling golden exterior complete with the perfectly baked crust even after waiting 3 hours before cutting in and eating. The interior has the perfect moisture level and is delightfully soft and chewy. The taste overall has a deep developed flavor. This is a great baguette. The only problem - the price. I can find ones for half the price that are maybe 80% as good as this one. (5/5) Seasonal Biscuit ($4.50) - This biscuit definitely isn't Southern-style. It's more of a drop biscuit, combining a relatively soft and tender interior with a nice exterior crust, without any flakiness or layering. The interior is almost cake-like in texture and crumb, and is plenty moist. They add plenty of fresh black pepper inside. It's distributed very evenly, giving a peppery bite with every mouthful. Parmesan is added to the top of the biscuit before baking, giving plenty of umami and richness but only on the upper layer. (4/5) Green Vinaigrette Cafeteria Style Pizza ($6.25) - The pizza is kept under a warming lamp, so it starts getting a little dried out after I assume a couple of hours spent there. I do love the base though - it's focaccia-like giving a really crunchy dark golden brown crust underneath, which supports the toppings. The pizza slice has lots of structural integrity and doesn't flop over. There's a base of fragrant concentrated tomato paste-like flavor which is topped with a very even layer of cheese. Since it's warmed rather than freshly baked, the cheese starts congealing a bit. The cheese is peppered with parsley, garlic, and a bunch of mustard seeds, giving a special zing. The toppings go all the way to the sides of the pie, making it great for people who dislike crust. Even though it's cafeteria style pizza that's kept under heat lamps, I quite liked it. I wonder if I can get a really fresh slice if I get there right at 11AM when lunch starts. (5/5) Chocolate Croissant ($6.10) - Great lamination with a very aesthetic honeycomb pattern. Baked on the harder side, causing fantastic crispy flaky layers to flake off, but also creating a darker golden brown character that is on the verge of bitterness. Nicely buttery soft and chewy interior. Chocolate is a darker variety, probably somewhere around 70%, so it has a pleasing balanced sweetness and chocolate flavor. It's not typical baton, instead seems to be a section from a bar. Still warm and melty even through I didn't eat the croissant until ~30 minutes after purchasing. When cooled down further, some red fruity notes start appearing, so this seems to be be pretty high quality. (5/5) White Sourdough ($12.60) - Now this is a loaf of bread. Superb crust, probably 2 or 3 times as thick compared to competitors, creating a supreme crusty bite with a chew approaching a hard crunch with almost caramelized molasses notes on the bottom. The interior is moist and tender with a pleasing slight sourdough tang. It's a superb piece of craftsmanship. (5/5) Kouign Amann ($5.80) - This is another heavier bake with some acridity development on the top surface. Unlike many other bakeries where the kouign amann is basically a differently shaped croissant with sugar glaze, Sea Wolf's version feels more in line with tradition. The crumb is denser and richer, more like brioche. There's interesting black speckling inside which I believe is due to the inclusion of espresso powder given the mild coffee-like flavor. The crust is again baked hard, but it's lighter and not as flaky as the croissant. They sprinkle just a bit of salt on top of a very light caramelized sugar glaze. It's not very sweet and I didn't find it too salty unlike some other reviewers. (5/5) Plain Focaccia Slice ($4.80) - Good quality olive oil, some salt sprinkled on top to boost the flavors. Light and airy interior, but the exterior is a little wan, being more light golden brown and lacking some good crusty crisp especially on the fried bottom. Quite oily. (4/5) Sea Wolf gives out free sourdough starter, which can be requested from the cashier. Since picking it up several weeks ago, I've gone through several feed/bake cycles for making sourdough focaccia. I've visited Sea Wolf 3 or 4 times in the last month. That's a testament to how high quality their pastries and breads are. I think the only thing stopping me from visiting more is thanks to the starter I got from them fanning my baking instincts. I bake so much now that I don't have any need to buy their bread! Note: Sea Wolf charges a 3% credit card fee. This is not noted on their menu - it only appears in the POS right before paying. I want a stronger crisp on the outside, something that almost shatters and makes a mess when you bite in, but the inside has a nice chew. Kouign Amann (3.75/5): I had a really fantastic time with this my first time picking it up, they have almost a crunchy sugar caramel crust on the outside with super buttery pastry inside. Unfortunately, my second time picking this up ended up being a miss, just stale and much to dry. Cinnamon Roll (1/5): The raisins are a nice touch, but this was awfully dry. Even the caramelized crus on the outside couldn't save this and charging extra for cream cheese frosting on top of a dry dough is criminal.

I ordered a 16oz iced oat milk mocha and loved how perfectly the chocolate was incorporated into my drink! It tasted sweet and the coffee added the robust flavour I love in my mochas My boyfriend had never tried a Moroccan Fog before and he loved how sweet it was without him having to add sugar. He especially loved that it had just the right amount of mint flavoring without being toothpaste For breakfast, I ordered their fruit danish! I love that they had different options of fruit to pick from and I chose blueberry! The pastry was perfectly flaky and I loved how fresh the blueberry tasted. My boyfriend ordered the chocolate croissant because he was excited at the idea of the chocolate being piped through the croissant and also drizzled over the top, but it turns out the dark brown parts on top are just design and not more chocolate. Still, he was pleased with the amount of chocolate in the croissant and the bite I had was heavenly. The champagne cake caught my eye as I was ordering and I just had to try a bite, it was absolutely delicious and fresh. I loved how light the cake was and the layers of flavour through the whole dessert! I love how bright and airy the cafe is! My boyfriend and I were easily able to find seating by the windows and enjoyed the gorgeous view of the space needle and people watching as we shared breakfast. The staff here was also patient and welcoming. We'll definitely have to come back and try more of their pastries!!

I'm here for coffee. I did not try any pastry as I was having lunch much later…read more Coffee was good. For a single barista who also did all food orders, she was quick. Coffee is good but not a wow. Food like the croissants seems to be not fresh. They did not have the look of freshly baked considering it was around 9am. Not sure but did not have the glow or lopk when I see a pastry. Nice place though. Lots of tables and space. They were busy.

Finally made it out to Saint Bread and I loved it! Arrived around 9am on a Friday morning and…read morewaited ~30 min in line. All the pastries except for the regular butter croissant were available, and we were able to place an order for the kimchi focaccia and sakura swiss roll, which were slated to come out around 10am. Service was super friendly! I got the hojicha latte, the okonomiyaki frittata, black sesame cookie, kimchi focaccia, and sakura swiss roll. The hojicha latte was rich and earthy in the best way, and it went really well with the black sesame cookie, which had a great strong sesame flavor, and the texture was perfectly chewy! The focaccia was pillowy and chewy at the same - I could've eaten five of these on their own. The frittata was my least favorite item, but by no means am I saying that it's bad! I thought the sauces overpowered it a bit, and the frittata itself was a bit bland - I couldn't even tell it had sweet potato in it, but it was cooked really well. There was ample seating in the heated patio, but parking was a little confusing, though we got lucky with the small lot right next to the store. There were a lot of signs that said no parking along the street in front, but it seemed like a lot of cars were parked there?

Super mid experience and over hyped in my opinion. Staff…read moremember at the register wasn't super friendly. That might have been because there was no AC inside the cafe/kitchen and it was over 80 degrees outside. Everyone had to form a line in the beating sun, which took over 40 minutes. No shade in sight until you are 3rd person from the front. Ordered 2 iced matcha lattes, which weren't whisked fresh. They clearly used a matcha concentrate in the drink unfortunately. The cinnamon bread felt stale, and less fluffy than expected. The same went for the sesame cookie, not super fresh. The cardamom bread was probably the freshest of the three items I got. I wouldn't return for any of the items I purchased.
