One of my new favorite places to study/work in Seattle! There is a ton of indoor and outdoor seating. The outside seating was a little warm for me, but there is AC inside. The WiFi is fast. The only downside is there aren't many power outlets. The drip coffee was great. You can get it in a mug and refill it for I believe $0.80. Super convenient for those spending some time in the cafe, like me! I also really enjoyed the egg and cheese sandwich I got. I like that the bread is foccacia - I feel like this is unique for a breakfast sandwich. The space itself is very tidy. You bus your own table, but someone also comes by regularly to clean the tables. There is also a clean bathroom. Street parking only, so you might have to park a little further during busy hours. Aw unfortunately, after all the planning coming to this location, we didn't have the best experience :( It was supposed to be a nice one because we were celebrating. Parking wasn't that easy but we made it 10 minutes later. Car was extremely hot after coming back. Look at the right side when coming inside Menu is there. Some thing would be gone by mid-day. Coffe was good as well as the quinoa salad and the pizza round. The best was the mushroom sandwich. The down side was the breakfast sandwich. OMG, what's in it?? It's a mix of something like egg cause it is orange in a square shape. I guess is that "liquid egg" mix. Which most of the times isn't egg. Had some poppy seeds? And then realized: could it be the vegeterian version? Why calling it egg then?? The smell was the opposite of appetizing. I ordered them for children and they had some flakes. Not a big deal this, but I wouldn't recommend something that simple on paper, but not in plate. 3 small tables downstairs in the middle of the hall. Seating is extended upstairs. Cool inside. Very warm outside during summer. Water stations on both stories. Staff was OK. They won't answer back even when only waiting for a sandwich to come out of the oven. This was hilarious. Not even at Starbucks. The big "but" for my party is going with kids. Having to take them down and upstairs everytime when ordering or picking up stuff. Because, let me tell you, there is a lack of empathy at this place. You'll have to sort it out with a baby and toddler on one hand, and tray, cups, utensils, second tray, coffee, salad, and miscellaneous on the other hand. Yes...you read right. And bringing all upstairs on as many rounds as you can. While baristas (3 baristas to make coffee and warm sandwiches) were chatting. The bright side: 2 were preparing food for next day :) Fortunately, another patron came to the rescue. This café is so cute, finding parking was not hard. I just parked in the neighborhood. When you walk in, there's a case of baked goods and the wall to the right had a basic drink menu. The staff are cheery and were very kind when ordering. This is one of my favorite seattle experiences so far! When you walk in, it just looks like a small little bakery, but if you walk upstairs you will find beautifully decorated outdoor and indoor seating. (Also, a plus, there is an amazing view of mt rainier from the outdoor seating.) There is plenty of room, so makes a good remote work option. We got the Mango matcha, Iced Cardamom Rose latte, cheddar scone, and ginger scone. The matcha and cheddar scones were delicious. The mango matcha is one of the best I've ever had, so i will definitely be returning. The latte isn't super sweet and the ginger scone was a little too plain for me. They were very quick with making our drinks and super nice when answering all our questions. My one complaint is it isn't open longer. Would love to come by after work sometime for a quick treat, but they close at 5 - so gotta be quick! read more

This place has such a comfortable rooftop patio, and I was all for it! I came here with friends who recommended this place at around 2pm on a sunny Sunday afternoon to a cool interior that's essentially the kitchen. They have a ton of pastries on display at the front, but the biggest recommendation I got from friends was the twice-baked almond croissant, and that was one of three pastries I got and will describe in a bit. I cannot get over how cool the outdoor rooftop patio is here; you can either choose to see the surrounding neighborhood or a view of Mt. Rainier and nearby Cleveland High School. It's so cozy outside, there are tables that can seat large groups, and those larger tables have a big umbrella to shade you from the sun. For the pastries, the almond croissant was my absolute favorite! This is ironic given I don't enjoy almonds to begin with, but the croissant had such a crispy texture, and there was some sort of sweet filling keeping the almonds on top of the croissant that made it so much better to have. My second pastry was the sea salt chocolate croissant, which wasn't anything special given I felt like the chocolate inside strongly reminded me of M&Ms chocolate. The croissant itself was just like the almond one, tasty and fresh. I also got the lemon ginger scone, which had a very strong taste of lemon; my taste buds had to really focus to get the taste of ginger. Otherwise, I thought this more as lemon bread but in scone from. Despite some of the pastries not being to my liking, I actually loved having them relaxing in the outside rooftop, and it's just very calm all around. I go here every once in awhile with curiosity. They have a rotating drink special menu based on the season as well as a variety of different baked goods. They do have your mainstay items that make it year round What I like about this place is the ability to get your items reheated. They are consistently putting out quality items with cravable flavor combinations. I suggest getting here before 1 in the afternoon because sometimest they run out. Lastly they have excellent seating and a cute aesthetic. It's not an everyday affair due to the higher costs in comparison to some of the other cafes and bakeries I frequent. I've been here many times for their pastries, their Queer Farmer's Market, and I've enjoyed their drinks. A super cute space with lots of outdoor seating both outside the door and on their nice rooftop deck, which has a little bit of rain coverage. Pastries are generally good, and their soft serve is fun. I'm a fan of their hot cardamom rose latte, but adding the syrup to their cold brew just doesn't hit the same for some reason. Love that they have tasty self serve cold water, compostable AND metal utensils. Service is always friendly. The Flora Bakehouse certainly doesn't have as many, but they do have these. A welcoming environment for everyone. The prices are pretty okay, and the stuff is all fresh. Came in the morning and it was busy. It's big enough for quite a few, but it still gets pretty crowded inside. The last time there wasn't much of a wait. Go in and place an order at the counter. It's about $6 for the Matcha Latte. This was rich and had an herby and sweet taste. Has a few ready to go pastries. It's about $4 for the Vegan Apple Streussel. Good size and it was sticky and sweet just like a regular one is. They also bake fresh bread loaves. Has lattes along with a few pastries and sweets that are baked fresh. It's located on Lucile Street in a quieter area of Beacon Hill. The whole menu is okay for vegans and vegetarians. read more

I was visiting some friends, and Flora Bakehouse was down the street. I ended up going for breakfast two days in a row! When I went on Friday morning, there was no line and plenty of seats inside, but on Saturday morning, around 9:00 a.m., there was a line out the door. The downstairs tables were full, but there was a nice garden upstairs that also had seats. I had the Seasonal Frittata--summer squash, onion, pepper jack, basil, and lemon ricotta--with a dry cappuccino. The frittata was light and fluffy, and the cappuccino had just the right amount of milk. The next day, I had the egg and cheese Sandwich, which came on focaccia with a housemade pumpkin spice latte. The sandwich was toasted, which added a nice crunch to the bread, and the latte was delicious. It was one of the best pumpkin spice lattes I have ever had. On my way out, I ordered the scone, and it came with strawberry - rhubarb jam. The scone was delicate and flaky, and the jam wasn't too sweet. I would recommend Flora Bakehouse to anyone! read more

There is plenty of seating here. They also have an upstairs seating area and a rooftop seating area to enjoy the views. We picked up a few items because they were sold out of most of their items. Earl Gray Shortbread cookie - haven't tried it yet, but I took it home to enjoy. Butter Croissant - flakey, chewy, moist. It was good! Raspberry Dole Whip - I've never seen this flavor before. I've seen pineapple (OG), strawberry, and mango, so when I saw this flavor, I had to try it. This did not disappoint! But to be honest, any dole whip flavor is enjoyable! I came here on a friend's recommendation, and wow--this place absolutely delivered! Cinnamon Roll: Hands down one of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had, vegan or not. It was warm, gooey, and perfectly sweet without being too much. The texture was soft and moist, and the flavor had that classic cinnamon sugar hit but with a little extra depth. You can tell they put real care into their pastry game here. Cardamom Rose Latte (Non-Fat Milk): This was such a unique and refreshing twist on a traditional latte. With non-fat milk, it still felt creamy but not too heavy. Super balanced and a great complement to the cinnamon roll. Atmosphere: Cute indoor space with a charming rooftop garden (yes, rooftop!). Iced strawberry matcha latte w/ oat milk ($7.5): this tasted so bland. I couldn't really taste the strawberry flavor and the oat milk was overpowering the matcha. While the quality of the vegetarian food at Flora Bakehouse deserves 4 stars (per my partner), I will give it a 1 star for lack of imagination and creativity with an overall rating of 2 stars (mostly due to their lack of interest in changing). Like most restaurants and bakeries in Seattle you will find a diverse selection of animal-based focused foods (can include meat or not). At Flora Bakehouse, which is entirely vegetarian, their focus is having a diverse selection of pastries that have either animal-based egg or dairy. When it comes to vegan items though, there is a lack of imagination, and dare I say, laziness. They have the same few vegan items (both pastries and a savory item) day after day with little change but will have new and interesting non-vegan items all the time. Yet with their cadre of professional bakers they cannot even take the time or use their imagination to prepare vegan croissants, danishes, or other items that typically have animal products in them... even after all these years. This is especially frustrating since the Flora group advertise themselves as creative yet cannot think of any way to make tasty, varied vegan products (ahem, delicious and flaky vegan croissants are not that hard to master especially when you have all the right equipment and people) as well as claiming the focus on sustainability yet continue to use unsustainable and climate unfriendly food that directly exploit and harm humans and non-human animals. I love the Flora group (especially Cafe Flora which has awesome dairy free and vegan options and a special place in my heart) but due to continued frustration of never having new vegan options and continuing only a limited selection of vegan foods, I no longer recommend Flora Bakehouse but will still go with my partner since they do love their non-vegan treats and coffee. read more

I visited Flora Bakehouse during a week when they were donating a portion of their profits to non-profit organizations to support immigrant rights. I'd been meaning to try it and finally took the courage to parallel park! Ironically, since it was a Sunday Super Bowl Game, I easily found a spot without having to parallel park at all. After a short five-minute walk, I arrived at the cafe. It seemed small at first, but I discovered they have an upstairs area with a few seats (2-4) and a lovely open balcony perfect for groups of 4-6. There were people playing Uno, studying, reading, and chatting. I ordered the Pesto Rosso, Hazelnut Brittle, and a 12oz Matcha Latte. My total came to $28.24 with tip. The warmed Pesto Rosso was flaky and flavorful, reminiscent of a pizza with a croissant base. It tasted homemade, but in a good way. I definitely want to come back earlier to try some of the pastries that were already sold out. My only complaint was the Matcha Latte; it was quite grainy, with noticeable chunks of matcha. It got busy, so I didn't want to bother the barista, but I'm sure they would have happily remade it if I'd asked. The "Hazelnut Brittle" in the latte didn't really have a "brittle" taste to it; it tasted like a regular hazelnut latte. The cafe has a wide selection of drinks and a lunch menu. I saw this bakery on some website it looked really good so I stopped on my way home. Got there a little after noon and the display case empty except for four items. The rest of the stuff was either sitting out open on the counter or in a cooler. That's not what I expected. The guy at the counter was having a lengthy conversation with what seemed like a long time customer or best friend. So I stood at the display case for quite some time waiting to be noticed. Once he took the order because he was still talking he got the order wrong. I ordered three items and only got two. I got a savory scone and a slice of cake. It was supposed to be a Dark Chocolate Pistachio Nut Cake, but it wasn't dark chocolate. They called it dark chocolate because of the grated chocolate in the cake. The cake tasted OK, it was moist, but it didn't taste like chocolate or pistachio nut. If you're gonna call something, a dark chocolate it should be dark chocolate otherwise say dark grated chocolate pistachio nut cake. It just wasn't worth the money. As for the scone it was actually pretty good, but I definitely wouldn't shop at this bakery again. I just realized that this is the second time I have been to this bakery, not the first time. This one is on Lucille Street. The first time I went to their bakery was at the airport where the store is called Flora. I was disappointed with the taste of what I purchased there as well. I was in the area looking for a light breakfast and somewhere to kill an hour or so. The pastries and the rooftop area caught my eye, so off to The Flora Bakehouse we go! My fiance and I ordered a drip, a mocha, regular croissant, and triple cheese onion croissant. We also grabbed a blueberry muffin and regular croissant to go for the next day. The drinks were pretty good, nothing to rave about, but it was enough to get my day started. The croissants though.. They were buttery, flakey, and sooo airy. I loved the triple cheese onion croissant, especially when I got to the middle and got a nice surprise full of caramelized onions. The girl that took our order was patient with me and how long it took me to decide on what to get. I wished my name or drink order was called out when ready though.. Turned out our hot drinks were sitting on the counter without a lid for a bit and when I went to ask if they were mine, the barista seemed annoyed that I even asked.
