June-uary came real hard on Seattle when I got here on a rainy Monday around 3:30pm. This is on Airport Way which I pass by countless times on my way to Chinatown, and I'm surprised I didn't notice this place until I looked at my IG feeds! It shares a parking lot with what looks like a defunct Rainier Beer Brewery building, though parking here was nearly packed near this location when I got here. Interior is very pink, very cute and very casual with semi-loud music and an environment that invites the laptop crowd to crowd in but without as much strength. There's also a drive-thru here, and the two baristas working the counter were super efficient dividing their time between the orders there and the orders coming from regular cafe patrons like myself! They were also pretty patient with me and other customers after me as I was still deciding what i wanted. They offer a wide variety of options from their signature coffees to healthier drinks and even some pastries and merch. You can get their drinks in various sizes, and the larger the size the more espresso shots it will have. With that said, I got their 16oz (2 shots of espresso) iced toffee butter macchiato with regular milk, and I could feel the espresso hitting me as I quickly downed the drink like I usually do. There's a little bit of sweetness from the caramel and toffee, and of course a strong caramel touch that actually stays on level with their coffee, which doesn't take over any of the taste added in. What a nice coffee place to stop at along a road that I travel often! I would so grab another one of their signature drinks when I come back here. read more

In the past I emailed Lula about being overcharged 2-3 times. Luckily a month later after that email I was sent a gift card to make up for those mistakes which was nice. However still some issues with order taking at this location. I asked for light ice on a drink 3 times and the young woman taking my order just simply did not put that down in the order or tell her co workers. The man behind me she also did not get the correct milk on his drink. If you're going to have me repeat myself twice and ask me questions I would think the order would be correct but sadly seems staff needs training on registers more here. Still love the drinks here as they never miss. Just wish I could visit not worrying if I will be overcharged or if my order will be correct how I asked. Don't see myself stopping by often still due to this ongoing issue at the registers. I only have visited because I had that gift card. However when I do stop by I can still count on a tasty beverage. My husband and I were visiting Seattle from San Diego and I was in dire need of a matcha, I had looked online but a lot of cafe's weren't open just yet, but when I saw Lula Coffee and noticed that they had a parking lot I was sold. Our rental company lent us a huge Dodge Ram Longhorn and have been a little weary with parking in Downtown Seattle so I was so grateful that Lula Coffee not only has a drive thru, a huge parking lot and open before 10 am. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with the nicest baristas and the most girly pop aesthetically pleasing cafe. The decor was so fun and whimsical and I wish I can stay there forever. Their menu reads off deliciously and I ended up choosing the White Pistachio Matcha which the barista mentioned was her favorite, my husband Bryan chose the Oh She Rich Rich, which is a spicy chai latte with dark chocolate. We also ordered food, I chose the sausage omelet Tosti, while Bry got the bacon omelet. It was a pretty cold morning so these breakfast sandwiches warmed us right up and they were really tasty. My matcha was perfect, not overly sweet and you can definitely taste the pistachio, it gave me the energy I needed for the day. My husband also really liked his chai and pairing between the chocolate and spices from the tea. Such a cute cafe! Great for remote work/studying. Love the location there's ample about of parking and they also have a drive thru - great for on the go for anyone coming or leaving Seattle.The pink dreamy theme is nice though I wish the seating situation was a little better with some lower tables and more comfortable chairs. The menu items have such unique names and is filled with endless options whether you're looking for coffee, matcha, smoothies, or energy drinks. I got the "Don't huck with me" energy drink and everything listed on the drink you could taste in every sip! Bonus points for the drink also being pink! I did find it odd they allowed someone to sleep on their couch while there were people in the cafe studying/working/chatting, it felt a bit weird to have to sit around someone snoring loud. Lula had been on my list for awhile and I'm glad I finally checked it out! What I love about this place ESPECIALLY in Seattle is that they have a parking lot! I ordered the pumpkin white chocolate mocha which is seasonal and i liked it. Had a good flavor! It was a bit too sweet so asked for more milk to balance it out. It did cost $8 almost $9 which honestly is a lot. I think I've gone to other coffee shops and at least paid $6. If you want an instagram worthy cafe to visit, Lula is your place! It had the perfect pinky and dreamy aesthetic with plenty of tables (to chat, do some work) OR take lots and lots of photos inside!! They had a decent sized menu but we went with their white pistachio matcha and strawberry matcha frappe. Both were personally a little sweet and didn't have as strong as a matcha taste as I would like. However, they're both fun drinks to get once in a while and to sip over some long conversations. Its been on my list to visit Lula for a long time and i finally had the chance to try them out on a weekday afternoon. I ordered the Honey Drip. Flavorfully sugary but the macademia nut was the bold taste in the drink. Costed me $6.50 for a 16oz. Since it was around 2 pm, there was not much of a line inside and was more of a line at the drive thru. Ordering was quick and easy. Got my order back in literally a minute because as I was paying and taking my order, another barista was quickly getting my order done. Super quiet which was perfect for the people around me working. As such, i drove to Lula Coffee, which is located at the old Tully's spot next to the Rainier Brewery. I ordered the decaf Livin La Vida Mocha with espresso, chocolate and hot honey. I thought the hot honey would be a bit of sugar overkill, but it made for a smooth coffee drink - neither bitter or acidic, just smooth. It's a mile from my office, easy to get to and they have a parking lot. Service was friendly and prompt. I went early afternoon and there was ample seating to hang out. read more

I decided to skip my two usual coffee stops in Georgetown and check out Lula Coffee instead (11/19/23). I remember this site as a former Tully's Coffee and shares the same parking lot as the former Rainier Beer Brewery along Airport Way S. Ample parking, onsite cafe with a drive through, and wow that's a vibrant, happening interior! A few outdoor seats, but various indoor seating configurations are available. Decent pastry case, chilled beverages, deli items plus a menu of inventive espresso & tea beverages to choose from. Welcoming staff and upbeat playlist too. I decided to stick around for a bit and enjoy the vibe. My mocha was also spot-on enjoyable. Nice to see folks just hanging out and having actual convos, not a sea of laptops or an aura of hipster attitude. Things I liked about this coffee shop include: the drive-through, the descriptions of the drinks, the decor, the atmosphere, the location and parking options, and the cleanliness. This is definitely a Instagram worthy type of coffee shop for the creative type. I really appreciate it the time and effort and energy they spent into making the atmosphere what it is. Some constructive critique, however includes... The amount of time that it took to get out to drink order was wildly slow. Unpleased with the training of employee at cash register, she took the order, and then minutes later, told us that one of the drinks isn't possible to be made warm. And didn't have any sort of replacement suggestion, not to mention the price difference if I ordered something else. In addition to this, it was a hindrance to not know what anything costs on the menu, because none of the items have a price by them, or anywhere near that you can look at. Meaning that the only thing to do, is ask the price once you're at the register... For me, this is problematic because the price of items helps me to decide what I may or may not get. I really hope they add prices to their menu in the future. Overall, did the drink taste good? Yes. Was it a experience that was a good experience to visit the shop? No... LULA COFFEE: WHERE MILLENNIAL PINK MEETS UNEXPECTED GOONIE ENERGY Let me tell you about Lula Coffee's interior design choices, which are so pink it makes Data's pinchers of peril look positively monochrome. The walls are painted in a shade of pink that I can only describe as "what Mama Fratelli would wear if she quit crime and became an Instagram influencer." Their velvet pink chairs (arranged with the same precise planning as the Goonies' treasure map) create an atmosphere that's somewhere between "modern chic" and "what the inside of One-Eyed Willy's ship would look like if he was really into rose gold." Each seating nook feels like its own little treasure trove, minus the booby traps that would make Chunk nervously stress-eat. The pink neon sign behind the counter reads "But first, coffee" in handwriting so perfect it makes me wonder if One-Eyed Willy's cartographer did some freelance work in modern signage. It casts a rosy glow across the space that's reminiscent of that moment when the Goonies first discovered the underground restaurant, except with significantly fewer skeletons and way more succulent arrangements. Their pink marble countertops (smoother than the water slide the Goonies used to escape the Fratellis) gleam under perfectly positioned pendant lights that dangle like the jewels from One-Eyed Willy's ship, if those jewels had been curated by someone with a Pinterest board called "Blush & Bashful." Don't even get me started on their custom pink La Marzocco espresso machine - it's the kind of machinery that would make Data throw away all his inventions and dedicate his life to latte art. It stands there like the pipe organ from the ship, except instead of playing death notes, it orchestrates the perfect symphony of steamed milk and espresso. The pink ceramic tiles on the back wall (arranged in a pattern more intricate than the path through the Moss Garden) create a backdrop that makes every Instagram photo look like it was taken in a secret pirate cave that's been renovated by a millennial with exceptional taste and a Rose Quartz obsession. Five stars for creating an atmosphere that somehow manages to be both "soft feminine luxury" and "what if the Goonies discovered a treasure trove of pink depression glass instead of doubloons." I've started hosting weekly appreciation sessions where we sit in the corner and debate whether Sloth would have preferred their pink velvet cake or their rose-tinted chocolate croissants. P.S. Their bathroom wallpaper features flamingos that look like they could have been part of One-Eyed Willy's more fabulous crew in another life. P.P.S. The copper accents scattered throughout the space shine like Chester Copperpot's long-lost collection of rose gold Instagram props. Note: This review was written while sitting in a blush-colored accent chair that's more comfortable than sliding down that waterfall slide, though significantly less likely to lead to a pirate ship. Special Addendum: To the person who suggested they add some brown tones to "balance out" the pink - first of all, Chunk's truffle shuffle would not approve, and secondly, this is a COMMITMENT to pink that rivals the Fratellis' commitment to crime. Final Thought: If the Goonies had discovered this place instead of a pirate ship, they would have immediately abandoned their treasure hunt to become professional Instagram influencers, and One-Eyed Willy would have pivoted to creating pink-themed TikTok content. Remember: The Goonies never say die, and Lula Coffee never says no to another shade of pink. However, the 12 oz iced latte only included a single shot and she had asked if I wanted to make it a double so I'm sure the price would've gone up a bit if I had chosen to do a double shot. DISAPPOINTED in my first visit to Lula Coffee. While this is the cutest pink coffee place you've ever seen, the menu board has no prices, you have no idea what you're about to pay out (in my experience two beverages were $15 after tax and tip) they don't offer you a receipt and they don't keep track of the drinks they make. I ordered a lavender latte and a matcha latte. I took my photos of the pink everything (it's absolutely adorable) and then sat there staring at the girls up front. Nobody was moving a muscle. I assumed maybe they were waiting to mix up the matcha? Idk. And then finally the lady who looked like the owner saw me waiting and asked if I needed something and when I told her my second drink the girl who took my order stood behind her with her mouth wide open and didn't proceed to help her boss, but went on standing there and eventually proceeded back to her phone. First of all, they have free parking AND a drive-thru. Not to mention the pink decor inside and outside of this place is to die for. They were also having a grand opening promotion (June 1-4) where any 16oz iced or hot drink was only $2. The staff there were also friendly and asked for clarification when we made our order. I can no longer be silent. I have given this place too many chances and I am compelled to share that I would recommend so many other places over this one that has consistently let me down. I love the interior of this place and the menu options (in theory), but that does not make up for time and time again having near inedible drinks and mediocre food and service. Sausage breakfast sandwich is not too bad, but the burritos have very little filling (mainly all dry and flaky tortilla). The drinks lack consistency. I will order the same drink 3 different times and once it's pretty good, the next time it's so so boarding on bad and the last time I toss it out and go somewhere else. Similarly, the staff lacks basic human decency and compassion. If I wanted to be mocked for saying something wrong while ordering, I would just go back to middle school. As someone who's personality can be described as "Libra girly who loves pink", this place...is such a vibe. The decor and the vibes are just lovely...so much pink, so unabashedly girly, it's so refreshing. You can search for this spot on tiktok to get a better sense of the space and atmosphere...there's a lot of content showing off this cafe b/c it is really memorable. I went there to cowork with a friend, and there was lots of seating, and big open windows it also felt airy and bright and energizing in the space. The baristas' were helpful and friendly. They have a big parking lot and free Wi-Fi, so it was a great place to work for the afternoon. I would come here for the vibes alone, but the coffee was pretty good too and they had a variety of different mylk options. I ended up ordering the chicken pesto sandwich for lunch along with a sparkling raspberry lemonade, and later a match latte. Overall, very happy with this experience. Lula Coffee was my first stop in Seattle! As soon as I got to the city, I was frantic for some coffee, and this place was the first to come up on TikTok when you search for "best coffee in Seattle". I like the decor, it's different. I am so used to "hipster style" when it comes to coffee shops, but this feels like Elle Woods designed it (if you know what I mean). I love it! AND THERE IS A DRIVE THROUGH! This is basically unheard of in Chicago, so I was super excited to see that option here. The menu is also atypical. There are so many different options that even the pickiest of the pickiest eaters would enjoy a drink here. Great selection! For some reason, prices weren't listed on the menu, but it's about 6-7$ for a 12-16oz drink. You can also find some delicious baked goods and grab and go sandwiches. Service was also giving "Elle Woods happy to help"! The barista recommended her favorite drink (Cookie Butter) which is an espresso frappe. I was so worried that it might be overly sweet, but it wasn't at all. It was a great treat after a long flight from Chicago. In my opinion, the only way to decently rate a coffee shop is by trying a classic. I got the cappuccino, and I can confidently say that this place has mastered it all!
