The most overrated/overpriced latte
Daniel K.

I came to this place to give them a try since it was close to my church and it's safe to say that this will be the last time I will go to get coffee. Don't get me wrong, the place looks cool and all bright but I feel it's tailored more to kids than adults. I haven't tried the ice creams but something tells me that they make a better ice cream than latte because the latte I make at my house is way better. I forgot to mention, that this is the most overpriced latte, I wouldn't mind if it was good but I felt robbed, $7.15 without the tip, I have never seen a 16ounce latte cost this much in seattle.

TLDR: lives up to its name, a nice spot to escape the Seattle rain Bright Spot has become one of my go-to work from home cafes in Seattle! If you're looking for somewhere to escape the cloudy rainy weather, Bright Spot is the place for you. After walking in, you enter into a colorful space with rainbow colors on the wall, a small shop section on the left for misc goods, and plenty of seating for hanging out or getting work done. Every time I've been here, the baristas are nice and friendly. I usually change up my drink order but so far, everything's been on point. The coffee is always super smooth and gives me that extra boost to get me through the day. Highly recommend!

This is a cute spot. Instantly makes you light up when you walk in. A good place to sit down and have coffee with friends. Service is quick and friendly. They also offer fresh baked pastries and soft serve

Such a cute find! Inside is absolutely gorgeous with bright colors, amazing art work on display, and cute gift shop things to shop for. The coffee was also delicious and the staff were extremely friendly.

Iced coffee + splash of milk that is self serve

Colorful. Bright. Childish. What I would recommend this place for is ice cream and basic coffee orders. This is the kind of place to take the kids and then go for a walk with your ice cream/coffee. What I wouldn't recommend is trying to do work here, there are limited plugs or they are in inconvenient places. Inside decor is very colorful with bright lighting, and the local art work displayed was actually one of my favorites I've seen. This cafe caters to the younger crew and doesn't radiate a mature vibe. Menu is a little pricey, but everything comes out fast. When you ask for a splash they let you self serve which was great. Baristas are kind. Didn't have anything that I feel like I need to come back for.

Egg sandwich with bacon

This was one of the most interesting and innovative breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. It is made on a ciabatta roll with harissa mayo, cheese, egg, arugula, and bacon. The egg is the most interesting part. My guess is that they beat the eggs, strain them to create a uniform consistency, and then bake a batch at low heat in an oven. They are cut into rectangles before being place onto the sandwich. The rectangle appears to be firm, but the texture is actually quite delicate and custardy. It is unlike anything I've ever had before. Highly recommend trying this sandwich. The service is friendly and quick, especially considering only two people were working while I was there. The ambiance and decor, however, is very interesting. It is clear that they're trying to make it look like a "bright spot" with a lot of colorful artwork and furniture, but a lot of it doesn't really together. Overall, I really hope this place succeeds, as what I've had of their food is delicious and that's all that really matters.

these cloud light fixtures are so cute

My cousin and I were headed to the Seattle Japanese Garden last Saturday but were looking for a coffee shop to hang out for a bit first. I wanted to find something on the way from my dad's in Rainier Valley. When I did. google search this cute shop popped up and we decided to give it a try. So glad we did! Such a cute shop we got here about 10:30 wasn't too busy. But I can see this is definitely a neighborhood spot for families. It is exactly a bright spot! Not only it's aesthetic but it staff and what they offer. They've been open since January I believe. The staff is friendly and helpful. And as soon as we walked around the corner on the outside we knew it was going to be a great spot such cute neon signs. The cloud light fixtures above the kitchen area that change colors, mural multi pastel color tables. It's a fairly large space lots of seating. They just happen to have one of my favorite local artists exhibiting Josephine Rice. We opted to share a couple pastries I like that they offer to heat them up for you. I also love that they have hemp as an alternative milk not every does or can do latte art with it. Definitely want to try their breakfast sandwiches next time. They make their cookies and vegan soft serve and make ice cream sandwiches out of them. They also carry a variety of retail items a great stop for someone looking for a small gift for a friend or last minute birthday gift for a child's birthday party. This place is bound to brighten your day!!

GODLIKE egg sandwich. And it travels well. -GET THIS!!!

Yeeeeaaah..... so one of the most influential executive development chefs on the west coast just shadow dropped their god-tier coffee shop in Mt. Rainier. So yeah - full freak out. Full - on - freak - out. Order everything. Hurry!

Vanilla soft serve

Amazing vegan soft serve! They had their vanilla flavor today and a blue corn cone. Perfect place for a summer treat! I'll be back to try more of their menu and I'll be back for the soft serve for sure!

Came here to get coffee and do some work while I eat a little breakfast and it's now my new favorite coffee shop. The ambiance is so cute. It lives to its name, Bright Spot. It has great energy and so cute in the inside, very bright and colorful. I enjoyed the meatless breakfast bowl, it was surprisingly very flavorful and I would order again. Service was great and I will now be a frequent customer.

the atmosphere here is to die for. super cute decor and art. also, the lady at the front was so sweet! the soft serve was pretty good and fun, not the best ive had but still worth a try if ur in the area

INCREDIBLE soft serve. I guess they make their own oat milk base and it is wildly good. Had the orange creamsicle with blue corn waffle cone and my partner had the vanilla affogato. Highly recommend, going to be making the trek on the regular!

Egg Sammie with Labneh, Muhammara and Arugula

Having lived in Seattle for 24 years (with 20 of them being near the Mt. Baker area) ... I've seen my share of coffee shops and I like different vibes in different neighborhoods for different moods. That's the beauty of our coffee scene. BUT.... Bright Spot feels like so much more than a coffee shop. I literally felt my serotonin spike when I walked in with the soothing pastel palette, whimsical artwork, velvet couches, ice cream cone sculptures and unicorns. It's not "kitschy" tho as it has an intentional and playful feel that vacillates between a dreamy ice cream parlor, princess birthday party, art gallery and a Palm Springs Deco daytime lounge that would seem to be as fun for kids as it is for "grown ups" . How they made it feel sunny in there when it's January 8th and we are in the depths of the dark days, I'm not sure... but they did! I loved my Cinnamon Toast Crunch Latte and the egg sandwich with muhammara, labneh and arugula on a super soft roll and served by a very sweet human named Persephone! Before leaving, I checked out all of the fun items they had for sale in the retail area (really cool wrapping paper, gift tags, cards, waffle cones, party hats etc) I'm super excited for this new (to me) spot and wish them all the success! I'll be back for sure. Oh and alsooooo.... They have soft serve and I will definitely be trying an affogato in the near future! Well done, Bright Spot!!

The soft serve is delicious and we would not have guessed that it was vegan (made with oat milk).

Their menu keeps things simple but well executed, featuring coffee, matcha, and a selection of pastries, with drink sizes ranging from 8 oz to 24 oz depending on what you're in the mood for. I ordered the Matcha Purple Haze, which stood out with its smooth, well balanced flavor definitely something I'd come back for. I also tried the Coffeeholic Dream, and it was a hit rich, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the overall presentation of the shop really adds to the experience. Between the quality drinks, clean aesthetic, and great service, Coffeeholic checks all the boxes for a solid coffee spot.

I've been staying walking distance from here and have now come here three different times…read more I'm a huge fan of Earl Grey Matcha so I decided to try their Tokyo fog. which is iced Earl Grey tea with Matcha cloud foam. I found it very delicious and light and refreshing. If you're looking for a Matcha, the Matcha flavor isn't very strong and it mostly tastes like an earl grey latte, but it is delicious and creamy. I ended up coming back and getting it again but with extra Matcha foam for additional Matcha flavor. Absolutely loved this drink. I also got a Matcha latte with black sesame cold foam. I've had a black sesame Matcha from somewhere else before, and the sesame flavor was very light, so that was what I was expecting, but was met with a very strong sesame flavor. I was not a huge fan as it felt overpowering and I couldn't taste the matcha. However, this is just a personal preference thing and if you like black sesame you should definitely try it! I'm not sure what much they used, but it didn't taste like the best quality, but it is still delicious and their drinks are all fun . The inside is small but and warm and cozy and they do have some seating. I was always able to find a spot. Super cute place with very sweet baristas.

I stopped in here to work for a few hours and had a great experience…read more I ordered a London Fog and requested that they add their seasonal lavender pear syrup. They let me know that the London fog comes as a concentrate and offered to use slightly less concentrate so that it wouldn't be too sweet with the additional syrup. I was a little skeptical of the fact that they make it from a concentrate because. I feel like a London fog is hard to mess up if you know how to brew tea, but I decided to try it anyway, and I was pleasantly surprised. While it didn't have a strong earl grey flavor, the drink was delicious and still tasted like a London fog and the lavender pear syrup was lovely. It has plenty of seating and is a great place to work from with a decent amount of outlets. Super friendly staff and I loved the dine in mug.

The Starbucks was always so packed. As far as the coffee and food, though, it's extremely overpriced and just OK. I got an Americano and a burrito. Came up to about $17, I think. I do not like their coffee at all. Very bitter and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. The burrito was teeny, tiny and way too expensive. I would not go out of my way to come here unless there was no other option, honestly. Which in this area there kinda isn't anymore, unfortunately. some people really like this type of coffee, and if you do then, I'm sure it's great. But there's not enough sugar in the world to make it taste good to me.

Unfortunately, the matcha with lavender and croissant were both very mediocre. It was nice that they added lavender upon request, but the quality of the matcha was not that great and the flavoring was very light. The ham and cheese croissant they heated up, and it was flaky and buttery. However. The cheese and ham inside were just mediocre deli meat and sliced cheddar cheese (probably tillamook or something). We are spoiled in Seattle to have access to lots of fantastic bakeries, such as Petit Pierre as well as nice matcha shops. If you want very delicious, authentic and quality pastries and drinks, you might visit another cafe.
