Happened to be driving by so I stopped in for an iced latte & added the salted caramel brown sugar syrup (I think that's what it was). The space is nice and clean, with a section of cute giftable items that were very tempting. My coffee was delicious. Not overly sweet which I was relieved about because I normally do half sweet but I forgot to request that. Still was yum & not too sugary! It was perfect with oat milk. 1 star off because as others have mentioned, customer service could be better. The barista taking my order seemed a little impatient or bored (Gen Z vibes). The cashier was nice at least! It's also unclear where people should line up/order. The person in front of me was confused and the person behind me was as well. I stopped in here to work for a few hours and had a great experience. I ordered a London Fog and requested that they add their seasonal lavender pear syrup. They let me know that the London fog comes as a concentrate and offered to use slightly less concentrate so that it wouldn't be too sweet with the additional syrup. I was a little skeptical of the fact that they make it from a concentrate because. I feel like a London fog is hard to mess up if you know how to brew tea, but I decided to try it anyway, and I was pleasantly surprised. While it didn't have a strong earl grey flavor, the drink was delicious and still tasted like a London fog and the lavender pear syrup was lovely. This location took over the Starbucks that was there for years. I like that the space feels bigger and brighter now, and is relatively pretty low-key and chill. The Starbucks was always so packed. As far as the coffee and food, though, it's extremely overpriced and just OK. I got an Americano and a burrito. Came up to about $17, I think. I do not like their coffee at all. Very bitter and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. The burrito was teeny, tiny and way too expensive. I would not go out of my way to come here unless there was no other option, honestly. Which in this area there kinda isn't anymore, unfortunately. some people really like this type of coffee, and if you do then, I'm sure it's great. But there's not enough sugar in the world to make it taste good to me. read more

VERY CUTESY, VERY DEMURE! I finally made it to Olympia Coffee after wanting to go for a while. The café has an open space with plenty of seating, lots of outlets, and great natural lighting. Perfect for studying or working. They offer a range of drinks, including a coffee flight to try multiple options. The service was great--friendly smiles on a Tuesday morning! I ordered a London Fog with almond milk (no soy available). Their pastry selection is small, but they have hot breakfast sandwiches and bagels. The café checked all my aesthetic boxes, and I spent a happy 2 hours there, even while working. PS: Parking can be tough, so go later in the afternoon if you can. Absolutely loved this coffee shop! We went twice on our trip and it was great. I got the chai latte and it was made to perfection and so warm and perfect. Drinks were quite expensive imo. My houjicha latte could've used more houjicha flavor. I could taste it but would've liked it stronger. I tried my friend's sweater weather latte and thought it was very warming and pretty flavorful. They have non-dairy milk (almond and oat). Lemon chocolate croissant was ok. I thought the croissant dough would've had like lemon peel shaved into it but it was a lemon cream inside that dripped out like crazy when we bit into it, so I didn't like that. They also had other pastries like kouign-amann, chocolate croissant, cookies from Low Rider, and other pastries. Also they had other items like sauces, matcha, and chocolate for sale, as well as okazu pan from Umami Kushi. We paid $6.70 for the houjicha latte w/ oat milk, $7.55 for sweater weather latte with oat milk, and $6.75 for the croissant. Both drinks were 12oz. Service was very nice and kind. A very nice coffee shop in Columbia City neighborhood. It's in an area of very nice shops and restaurants. We came into the neighborhood hoping to grab some quick breakfast at the break spot up the street But it was super crowded and had a line of about 20 people. So long-story-short, we decided to just grab coffee and a pastry. We're glad we did as we came into this bright and nicely situated coffee shop. The staff was friendly and helpful. I can't believe I haven't reviewed Olympia coffee yet! Olympia Coffee Roasters is one of my favorite coffee shops in the area, and I come here at least once a month. The ambiance inside is nice, with a good amount of seating by the windows, allowing natural light to fill the shop. The coffee at Olympia Coffee Roasters is very good, balanced flavors. They use a poursteady machine for pour overs, which creates a super consistently good coffee, and I have yet to have a pour over that I have not delighted in yet! My main quarrel is that the pastries here are a bit mediocre, compared to their coffee. My croissant was super buttery, to the point that they felt too heavy and oily for my taste. Overall, I would definitely recommend coming here for some delicious coffee! read more

The first place I went to for food once I landed in Seattle was Olympia Coffee. I was so hungry and tired that I just needed something quick and easy. I ordered the Ruby Oolong Tea ($3.95) and tried out the Mama Mozz Melt and the Jerk Chicken Umami Kushi. You can't mess up a tea bag in hot water, so nothing to note about the tea, though I did like that it was really strong. If you don't want tea that strong, definitely take it out after it steeps for a few minutes. The melt was a great quick breakfast. It tasted a lot fresher than a breakfast sandwich that you would get at Starbucks and has a lot more flavor. The umami kushi was good as well, though definitely more carb and protein focused and no vegetables. Everything came out really quickly so our visit took maybe 10-15 minutes. Service was friendly, and love that they pay extra attention to those of us who request milk substitutes in our drinks. I saw a lot of people sitting down with laptops out so it looks like a good spot to get some work or studying done, since the music wasn't too loud or distracting either. Genuinely the worst matcha I've ever had. Imagine you are having a bad day and you wonder to yourself huh I should treat myself and go get a nice matcha. WRONG. You would think with how poor the service is that you would at least get a good matcha out of it. Rude barista- even more rude matcha that I received. Seems like Entitled and woke baristas with a terrible attitude giving even worst customer service because they hate the minimum wage job they chose?, im a transplant from miami florida and even back there our coffee service was better. I love the vibes of this place- it's on a busy street corner and it just gives off happy energy. Super spacious and friendly staff. We both got an iced chai tea latte-normally I prefer sweeter over spicier, but I liked this one. My boyfriend got the cheese cream danish-the fruit was a little dry and not as fresh & crispy as he preferred. He didn't put high expectations on it though since the main focus is on the coffee. My absolute favorite coffee is now that much closer to Seattle. It has also led us to explore Columbia City, which is charming and fun. I get the same thing more or less. If it's warm iced oat latte. They nail the richness and balance. When it's cold their oat latte cortado is so good I often dream of it. For to go, the big truck organic is my goto coffee at home. I can never go back. I carry home backpack fulls of it each visit. As for the staff they are wonderful. Super cool and down to earth. Friendly and attentive. I recently visited Olympia Coffee at their 5th avenue location, which offered a pretty decent coffee experience overall. I had their drip, (I forget which beans, but they don't have it on their website) ordered an iced matcha, a red velvet croissant and a "mystery" muffin. The coffee was quite good for being drip (I'm usually a pourover guy). It had good clarity and brightness, which stand out compared to many other drip coffees I've had. The building was dog-friendly which was convenient and always a plus. The wait time was decently short. My only complaint was the cashier, who appeared to be new and struggled with the pastry selection. He sold me on a "blueberry" muffin, which turned out to have peach, cardamom, and some sort of herb. Overall, it was a nice visit, but a bit more training for the staff could enhance the experience. read more

I heard that newer locations had opened in West Seattle and Columbia City. I chose to check out the latter on 2/15/20. Ironic that they took over the spot that was a previous Starbucks.The place was packed as I found myself in a preCovid19 line. Finally get to order at the counter, an 8 oz mocha and a pain au chocolat. I chose to just stand at the end of one counter from the row of laptops. I was there for about 30 minutes to absorb the atmosphere. Bright, sleek, crowded. Will I return? Probably not, just stick to my usual indie around the corner. read more

As you know by now from my yelp page I am a huge fan of coffee and supporting local coffee shops and Olympia coffee is a Fair for All coffee brand designed to create and pay farmers better, also started in the city of Olympia, moved in to the old Starbucks location in Columbia City about 3 years ago. I ordered a mocha very very strong bold good flavor and the syrup used was a bittersweet chocolate for those of you who know chocolate. I also bought a can of their cold brew and peach kombucha by Rowdy Mermaid, there is a small selection of chocolate, baked goods and bags of coffee. Plenty of seating but if you know Columbia City you would have to find street parking or if you live in the area take a walk and enjoy a cup of Olympia coffee. My thumbs are up I'll definitely visit when I'm in the area again it's always nice to have go to coffee shops besides your traditional chain stores not saying any names read more

Grabbed coffee this am at Olympia coffee and experimented with my morning cuppa. Wanted to visit this place since I saw it on Yelp. This is a large coffee place with lots of light, bummer that they aren't open yet for seating. It would have been great to sit and enjoy cuppa and work. Quite disappointed with this new location, as I had such a great experience with their West Seattle location and brought similar expectations to this coffee shop. Spacious and with plenty of seating, however I don't think they thought it through when they designed the counter by the windows because as soon as a ray of sunlight hits, it's nearly impossible to sit and work at the counter. It's also worth noting that although they offer wifi, they limit your access to 2 hours only, so it's not somewhere you can sit and do work all day. Not to mention, their wifi is incredibly SLOW. Like dial-up slow. I don't mind their coffee actually, the taste is pretty good, but definitely pricey. After tips, my 12oz oat milk latte cost around $7. There's plenty of coffee shops in the area, so this wouldn't be a "first-choice" option for me. read more

Came here for the first time on a late Sunday afternoon to grab a coffee to go. I've been to other Olympia Coffee locations and they were fine, but this one totally missed the mark. Not sure what was worse, the coffee or the service. It was slow when I got there, yet I wasn't acknowledged when I walked in and even when I got to the counter for too many moments. The barista definitely saw me, because we made eye contact. My simple iced americano was so bitter and tasted of burnt beans that I threw it away after just a few sips. The space is really nice and somewhere I would read or work in, but all in all it was a disappointing experience and I won't be returning to this location. read more

The baristas are so friendly and helpful, I did come in before 7am, and working in coffee I know that opening hour can sometimes be the wake up period but they were there to help out! I was looking to buy light roast coffee beans and was helped by the workers even though I took 10 min to decide bc they had so many options! I ordered the espresso flight and wow their sweetheart espresso was so sweet and yummy, the Big Truck espresso also was well rounded and was a night tasting to showcase what they're about. They know what's up! I got a mochi donut from the case too and it was delicious! Coffee was just OK, not bad, not great. The workers were not very friendly. It's not that I'm trying to be besties with the cashier, but if you're gonna take my money for a substandard cup of coffee, at least you can do it with a smile. As for the ambience, the crowd seemed a little pretentious to me. It was not conducive to an enjoyable caffeinated experience. Take out only right now (unless you happen to snag an outside table) but this coffee shop is somewhere I've wanted to stop by forever on a recommendation from a friend. And all in all, they are awesome. The iced coffee here is great, especially with their house made syrups. I think the vanilla pairs better with their coffee as it highlights the flavor profile better, but if you like the more bitter chocolate profiles, the chocolate syrup is definitely a darker one that will not add too much sweetness to your coffee. As for their coffee bags, seems like a lot of things are on the darker roast side of the spectrum, which I personally enjoy a lot, so makes it all the more for me to enjoy, but keep that in mind if you're buying coffee to take home. read more

Love this place! Baristas are so chill and the drinks are great. I've been getting the seasonal drinks lately (Sweater Weather and Candy Apple) and both are so good I wish they weren't just seasonal. They have a huge emphasis on supporting local businesses and it shows! From the food selections (highly recommend the okazu pan from Umami Kushi) to their really cool custom aprons the baristas wear, everything is local. They have a really nice seating area (vaccination required to sit last time I checked) with large windows and a lot of natural light. They sell stickers too! read more

Seating is a bit on the sparse side but it is a great place to lounge and do some light work if you can nab a spot. For me personally, it's a great opportunity to try some of their new bean offerings and micro lots before taking some home.
