Super sweet people at this place! Their patio is dog friendly which I love. The specialty lattes are awesome. The horchata latte uses rice milk too so I believe it's dairy free. My partner had a churro latte and loved it. The coffee cake was also tasty. The inside is clean and has lots of places to sit with good lighting and big windows. They also have some larger bakery like bread loaves for sale too. Very cute neighborhood spot I'd recommend! read more

This place is still a cute neighborhood cafe. It recently changed owners lat December. They updated the menus from the old school chalkboard to flat screen tv display for menus and they still offer a range of pastries and bread (C'halla!) Their food used to be just meh but now it's definitely a bit fresher. The staff at front is a little quieter but just as nice. It's just a completely different vibe with some nice updates to the interior as well! read more

I love this place and have been coming here for years. I'm especially fond of the horchata lattes and delicious blackberry Danishes, and their croissants are among the best in Seattle. Seriously! Ask for the dulce de leche one that they make to order. Other favorites: pan de muerte (in October), empanadas, and Mexican hot chocolate. So lucky that it's nearby. read more

Really wonderful family owned bakery. The atmosphere is very welcoming and warm, everyone working here was very kind and you can tell they love what they do! We got the horchata latte and protein latte. Both were very good and I got a tamale to go. The chicken tamale was sooo good and came with a delicious mild hot sauce. As we drank out lattes we saw the grandma / cook come from the kitchen to serve people their food (all the food coming from the kitchen smelled and looked delicious)!! It was so heartwarming to see. I'm addicted to stopping at this bakery every day during my walk because the coffees and food are amazing! The tall cappuccino is one of the best I've ever had. I tried the skinny burrito and the pork tamales - both were generous portions full of flavor. My all-time favorite is the Milano cookies, chocolate and raspberry. Light and tasty! I love this home-cooked and family owned feel of this bakery, and a lot of the goods are what panaderias would serve, but then additional stuff for the neighborhood. It feels like a labor of love to serve the area, and the pastries show it. The guava cream cheese pastry, as well as the tamales, are my favorite. But there are so many things to choose from. Prices are also reasonable by Seattle standards. read more

I found this bakery on TGTG with 4 pastry with 5.99$. There are many ethiopian restaurant around. They provide Bakery, Breakfast, Pastries, Bread, Coffee & More. If you are craving high-quality bread and baked goods with good price this is the place. I tried their chocolate croissant and one dough with raisin. I would say their croissant serires are great with the rich flavor of butter and most importantly the stuff are not that sweet! I came in for the first time while waiting for my car to get serviced down the street just for a coffee and a place to stay warm. Right away I could tell this was a homey place. There were locals sitting there enjoying breakfast and the owner was so welcoming and nice. The latte I ordered looked and tasted just like a solid good latte should be like. There were some really delicious looking pastries behind the counter but since I already ate that morning I had to make a note to return for some next time. I enjoyed the duration of my stay just being a fly on the wall while doing my morning reading. Just as important to my experience here were a few notable interactions I saw. Firstly the owner remembers people and their preferences. When one guy came in this morning, I heard "the usual?" Also he greets everyone with enthusiasm and kindness. Secondly another guy came in and the owner said "I have something for you that you dropped outside a few days ago" so they really care about their customers! Thirdly, staff just do what they need to to make the place clean and well maintained - I caught a lady quietly sweeping the front entrance and disappearing just as quickly. Finally at around 10:30 am I found out they were all sold out of empanadas, which means they are fresh and they go fast. I have yet to find another place that offers delicious coffee, pupusas, empanadas, AND tamales for breakfast. I really hope the people who run this place know just how special they are. read more

For the culture! Y'all if you ever find yourself in the central district, make your way over to Golden Wheat. I was vending at the Creative Block right next store, and was in dire need of some coffee. I met one of the lovely ladies who supported my small business. She was so sweet and really hooked it up with the drinks. I ordered a large iced horchata latte and a chicken tamale. The latte was perfectly sweet and the cinnamon was on point. The chicken tamale had good spice and was really filling. But y'all, let me tell you. They have so many snacks and goodies that it would be a killer spot for brunch or to replace your daily Starbucks. Overall, support local and get you a horchata latte. read more

Last week I went on a bakery hopping frenzy, visiting three in one day and I'd have to say that Golden Wheat Bakery was my favorite. For me, it beat out Bakery Nouveau and Le Panier, which should be saying something! This humble, small shop located in a more residential area is a true hidden gem. The place sells basic bakery items you'd see at most other places (various pastries, cookies, breads, etc), but also has some speciality Latin American influenced items such as empanadas, tamales, etc. I decided to go with a slice of their quiche lorraine ($7) which was kindly heated up. They currently don't have any indoor seating, but there were 6 or so chairs outside that were available to enjoy my delicious breakfast. The savory eggy custard was oh so soft and melt in your mouth. It was perfectly swirled with bits of cheddar cheese and bacon. The crust was buttery and added a wonderful textural contrast to the smooth filling. The thick portion seemed to be about 1/4 of an entire quiche--very fair for the price. There was only one other person that visited the shop while I was there. I really hope that they're able to stay open during these tough times. I'd highly recommend supporting this smaller underrated business if you're ever in the area! I will certainly be back to try some other goodies. The pecan sticky roll was definitely calling my name on the way out. read more

This place is just up a couple of blocks from 'Fats Chicken and Waffles' which was rightfully busy on at 11:00am on a Sunday. Before making it to some other bagel spot we eye this adorable neighborhood bakery and decide to check it out expecting a shmoring boring normal cafe. This place is "a sleeper Mexican restaurant" as my friend would say you don't know how special it is until you're there! One honest worker had told me that many of the food items which the owner claims is made in house, is in fact not made by them at all. For example, all of their breads and all of their donuts. Some seasonal desserts as well. Baked fresh each day? They make their pastries in bulk, freeze them and then sell them through the span of a week or two. Most of the cookies are very stale, some of the pastries have been undercooked. Etc, etc, etc.

I've complained about the short-filled drinks here before, and I never, EVER, have this problem at any other Starbucks I've visited across the continental U.S. Is it a lack of training? I can't help but wonder. Why is this Starbucks so consistently bad at filling drinks? I asked for a refund but felt awful because I was so frustrated. Most of the staff there is very nice. This young fellow's excuse was pathetic. I'll say it again -- if we're paying a premium price, fill the drink to the top. For Pete's sake, I even have it listed as my name on the cup.

I say modestly it can be shared between 2-4 people. The cake was light, with a smooth consistency. Chocolate is not too rich because I have a sneeze indicator. The higher the percentage in dark chocolate the higher the likelihood I am to sneeze. I was just on the verge and typically happens somewhere between 70% and above. Anyways I recommend coming here and trying their offerings. I was eyeing a pistachio croissant they have so I might be back again to try that. Aside from that, service wise I had no complaints. Parking can get tricky since it's just street parking.

My friend ordered an iced Americano, which was made with a light roast that had intense fruity acidity. it wasn't quite her style, but I appreciated that they didn't default to a darker roast for milk-free drinks. There was plenty of seating upstairs, where we relaxed and chatted over coffee. Overall, Push x Pull is a reliable spot if you enjoy specialty coffee. In my opinion, Push x Pull is the only shop I've found in Seattle that can truly compete with the best shops in those cities. I mostly drink cortado (a drink which leaves nowhere to hide) and Push x Pull executes them at a level I haven't found elsewhere in Seattle. The espresso is always dialed in, and the milk texture is ridiculous. The staff is also great. I frequently come in with my two young boys, who are not exactly known for sitting quietly, and everyone has always been incredibly kind and welcoming. If you're serious about coffee, go here.
