12 Oz (2 Shots) Chai Latte (Vanilla)
Angela S.

OH MY! On my way to my dr appt. I saw the sandwich board advertising this breakfast sandwich. It was a painted sign! After my appointment I circled back to get breakfast. It was SO good, that I had to pause to take a picture. The folks inside were laughing with customers, but that is not stop them from greeting me as soon as I opened the door. The exterior is fun and the eclectic with fun paintings in the walls. The vanilla chai is as great too. I should have asked for low-fat milk but I opted for almond milk. It was still very yummy, but a little thick. Pictured is my cup, but their cups are HAND-DESIGNED with hearts. I forgot to add I had a cookie too. Oh my!! Impressive!! I'll know for next time. I will definitely be back!

Stopped in for a coffee and bagel sandwich. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The drip coffee was really good. I don't say that lightly as most drip coffee is just okay but this was really tasty. The sandwich was good and the ingredients were fresh and delicious.

Breakfast Bagel Sandwich

We ordered a breakfast sandwich and a smoothie at Katy's. They don't really have a kitchen, it's more like a coffee house with a small food/snack menu. They offer bagel sandwiches but the bagels are store bought and the bacon/egg isn't made to order. Not a huge deal, just not what I want for an $11 breakfast sandwich. The bagels they use (Blazin' Bagels) are dense and chalky and the smoothie was just okay, it wasn't very creamy. The inside of Katy's has a cute vibe (we loved the wall of mug shots!) but the space is incredibly small, so if you go on a weekend, you'll most likely be sitting or standing shoulder to shoulder with other customers because they only have 3 tables and no separate space to wait for take-out. If anyone is speaking out loud, you're almost certainly going to hear their entire conversation. The service is always lovely, they have very kind & helpful people working behind the counter. I would come back for coffee!

House-Baked Cookie

Katy's is a gem of a coffee shop to locals here! I walked in and saw freshly baked chocolate chip cookies which I couldn't resist to get. I had one of those and probably one of the best hemp milk lattes of my life to pair with it. When I like to think of local coffee shop gems, I definitely think of Katy's.

Place was super convenient to stop by for food and drinks. Although it seemed like we were the only ones ordering, our food took a while to be prepared. My boyfriend noticed they even got his order wrong, put ham instead of bacon, which was okay because we haven't left yet so he went back and they gladly changed it. But it just seemed like they weren't paying attention. Drinks were sooo good though, highly recommend the chai tea (spicy or vanilla!).

We swung by Katie's Cafe for a takeout coffee. Currently they are offering takeout through their window. We tried the seasonal eggnog latte which was one of the best eggnog lattes I've had in a long time!

Loyal Heights, Ballard, Phinney Ridge

this sandwich was highly impressive as the main part of the…read moresandwich, it was pretty necessary that the pork be cooked to near-perfection, and i have to say it was here it gave off a deep, brown-ish color, which showed the extent of it's cooking and marination. It wasn't quite incredibly tender, but the marinade added an absolute ton of flavor. more importantly, it was present plentifully throughout the sandwich, so practically every bite came filled with pork I also have to mention how packed together the ingredients are between the buns. when you start eating, it's inevitable that a quarter of the ingredients will fall onto the wrap below, leaving a nice secondary meal to finish off after the sandwich is done. the sandwich is packed incredibly tight during the wrapping process, but it unravels a bit while eating. for me, the major highlights of this meal was the onions and the aioli Starting with the onions, these may be the best I've ever had on a sandwich. They're caramelized amazingly, placed onto the sandwich in astoundingly large pieces, are crunchy, and there's just a lot of them. They're just wonderful both texturally and taste-wise. This sandwich is absolutely lathered with aioli - practically dripping with it. This boosted the overall flavor so much, especially because this aioli was addictingly good. In my experience, the amount of sauce has been directly proportional to how much I enjoyed a sandwich, and when the sauce is this good - it's even on the top of the bun! - i absolutely loved it Somehow the lettuce stayed crunchy despite all the otherwise wetness going on in the sandwich. Props for that The jalapenos were great as well for that extra bit of spicy - I would've loved to have more of them while the bread was toasted well, the one downside was i thought it was pretty hard and tough, which made chewing kind of difficult. I found my jaw to be pretty tired at the end after eating this. I would've much preferred a softer roll that's easier to bite into I've had similar sandwiches from Paseo and Bongos, and in my opinion this does edge out both of those Comparing to Paseo, the sandwich there has way more oil, making it more sloppy and I do like the bread there a lot better, but the pork feels richer and better marinated here (although less fatty), and the onions are definitely caramelized better here as well. Bongos has a pretty similar level of pork with more, but onions are definitely a step down What moves this place above those two for me is the amount of aioli used here far exceeds those other places, which just makes the overall eating experience better For the price (about 14 dollars) this is a really filling meal

This is THE spot to come before Mariners games or nearby concerts and nobody can convince me otherwise. I've tried them several times in the past and now have my dad hooked as well. Their signature Caribbean Roast sandwich is absolutely phenomenal and I have the hardest time ordering anything else when I'm here. I have tried the nachos version of it before as well, and that's equally delicious. The key is definitely that succulent roasted pork. I will say that the sandwich version is MESSY so don't wear white, and also just be mindful if you have plans after. This year, my dad decided to order a pre-seasoned and smoked turkey from Paseo and my GODDD it was good! We made a gravy from the drippings as well which turned out so good too. We also get their street corn that was said to serve 4-6 but it was generous and we had leftovers. Absolutely a MUST try, 10/10 no notes. There's a reason they have received so much love over the years - no questions, no notes, JUST GO TRY THEM PLEASE.

The indoor space is really cute, but I was confused as to why everything was blocked off and restricted to takeout only. I ordered the famous Caribbean Roast sandwich and a side of rice and beans, which came to a little less than $30. While it's a good sandwich, it felt a bit heavy; I really found myself looking for more acid to cut through the fat and grease. I'm glad I was sharing with Jenny because it's quite a lot for one person. I also noticed toward the end that the bread was burnt. Overall, it's a solid sandwich, but between the stomach issues and the char, I'm not sure I'd go back.

I've had my eyes on the Fast Eddie ever since I heard about this place because it was one of the most recommended sandwiches. The ambiance was alright. Pretty dark imo but maybe because it was just after Christmas and they had their holiday decor up. Also the bar area was closed. I was a bit confused on where to order until I realized there were kiosks by the front counter. It would've been nice if one of the workers actually had said something to me. Anyway, onto the food. I got the Fast Eddie with fries and it was alright. The meat was bit dry. Yes there was the au jus to dip in and it helped quite a bit, but all the flavors just didn't mesh. It was basically an ordinary french dip. The fries were okay, but the jalapeno aioli was great! That made everything better, but not enough to save the sandwich. Located in the Seattle Center Armory, along with many other food vendors, Big Mike's Sandwich Company is serving up huge cheesesteaks, chopped cheese, and other East Coast-style subs. For $25, I picked up the cheesesteak and fries combo. Not a terrible price for the portion. Waited about 10-15 minutes for the sandwich to come out. You order on a tablet here, and then they call your name. It's a small storefront, so you really have to stay nearby to hear your name being called in the large space that is the Armory. Not much interaction with staff. Plenty of seating throughout the Armory, though shared with other restaurants. The food came out piping hot. Obviously, they cook everything fresh to order because the inside of the fries was like lava. The fries were thick-cut and seasoned to perfection. The sandwich was good. I thought some pieces of the steak were a bit tough, and the roll seemed a bit over-steamed or possibly stale. A good sandwich and decent portion, nonetheless. I'm still going 5 stars here. I think Big Mike's is a great choice if you want a hearty, meat-filled sandwich and you happen to be in the area. However, I think you could be happy with another dining option in the Armory, too. My kids loved the MOD Pizza nearby. Chocolate Babka (2/5): This was truly the only miss I've had here.
