I like they're cherry pastry. But why are portions so thick and large? This last time the pastry was so dense and not light and fluffy like before. Left so much to be desired. I look for fresh croissants for my hubby but I never see any. I got this pizza looking savoury pastry thing it was huge and so dense it had no flavor and it took 3 of us to finish it. Something was lacking and my son and husband said it was missing the meat. Like some sort of protein. Did you guys switch bakers or something or just stop taking pride in your pastries? I'm from the East Coast so I'm more of a freshly made everything bagel with cream cheese type of gal. Oh yeah folks go here with deep pockets. read more

Our friend told us to stop by Snapdragon while we were in town so we could try their cannolis. When I came Thursday morning, they did not have any cannolis prepped. We opted to try their berry lemon cheese danish, which was excellent. It was so fluffy and large and utterly delicious. But I will redeem myself the next time I'm in town and I will try one of their infamous cannolis. read more

Portions are VERY generous! I'm glad they're open late which is so rare to find in a bakery. Love going to Snapdragon!

Great bakery in West Seattle, and easy (and delicious!) detour if you are at the farmer's market. Must try the ginormous cinnamon croissant roll. Get in early, they often sell out! The line can be long, but it moves fairly quickly and it's well worth the wait! read more

What a cute find in West Seattle! I am always looking for vegan and gluten free bakeries and when this one popped up on Yelp I had to try. Although there was only one option for little old me it definitely didn't disappoint. All bakery items seemed to be the same price (two pastries and two Americanos came to $24) but believe me they are huge and enough for two servings. The ambiance: think old school rustic bakery. Antique furniture with 80s rock in the background. Absolutely love it! Don't let the line out the door make you look the other way. Trust me - it's worth it. Just make sure to buy a few more to take home with you. I wish I grabbed another one of those raspberry bars. read more

Everyone raves about this place! If ever going to Vashon, many people say, "Make sure you stop by Snapdragon!" But now you don't have to go to Vashon...just go down the West Seattle Bridge for this delightful bakery. Their pastries and desserts are delicious! They're massive!!! I wish they had more savory options. But portions are huge; they can be shared or be saved for later. They're almost too big though...I know, sounds crazy because who wouldn't want a huge pastry!? I ended up having a lot of leftovers and sadly didn't get to eat all of it. It's a small area inside, so things can get a little tight, especially when there's a line going out the door. Was walking down the street and this new bakery caught my attention. I walked in "just to take a look" of course and was unable to restrain myself from buying a cinnamon role and a cherry and berry cream cheese danish (I think). The location is convenient and located on the corner the various items are laid out behind the counter on the pans they're cooked on. Not I am a regular visitor to Bakery Nouveau and thought there's very little chance to be my bakery of choice but I'm always open to check it out. I was walking so I asked for a bag as I had miles to get home, unfortunately they do not have any bags at this place. This seemed odd and short sighted to me, reduced how much I would buy?! So I walked 15 blocks holding the very ice box they gave me out in front of me. When I got home to share the bounty I decided to cut the pastries in half sine they're so large. In the process, I found that they were loaded with cream cheese and the cinnamons rolls included giant chunks of hard cinnamony goodness. The taste and quality was pretty good. Snapdragon Bakery is probably worth another visit and you should check it out for yourself, I'll probably try other items next time. read more

I LOVE Snapdragon. I first found out about them when I visited Vashon Island, but they now have a location in West Seattle which is much more accessible. If you could only get one thing from here, let it be their cinnamon rolls. They are the biggest, softest, and fluffiest cinnamon rolls I've had. They are definitely on the sweeter side, but it's so delicious. Be sure to get here early as they get sold out quick. Everyone who works here are so nice and sweet. The cinnamon bun is the one everyone raves about I found it okay. It is good but the hard cinnamon was not my favorite and it was more like a bread texture good but not super soft like the way I like mines. Still worth a visit and purchase but a craving for me. We also got the pesto cheese bread that was good actually better for me since the cinnamon roll was a-little disappointing. I liked the savory better this morning. read more

I've visited their original Vashon location and have very fond memories of it. Really excited that they've brought their homey country vibes and delicious pastries to the mainland! My husband and I have come out to West Seattle twice in the last two weeks alone for Snapdragon. The assortment of treats are consistently fantastic and worth the trip. Baked goods are also very large! I laughed when I discovered the giant, 7-pound (slight exaggeration) bag we were given contained only one scone. Peach scone, cherry galette (which you can order by the half, which will still feed 2 people minimum), pesto and roasted red pepper roll (actually the size of a small pizza), potato leek samosa... Flavors change seasonally, but they're always a delight. Staff is always so friendly and happy to answer questions and give recommendations. There are a few small tables inside and some seats out front of the shop. Probably a good thing that I don't live closer or I'd be in here all the time. read more

Really cool vibes! Reminded us of our favorite donut shop when we lived in Michigan years ago. They were playing sea shanties and the workers were just really friendly and grounded people. The bakery selection was awesome and we wanted to get way more than one item so we will def be back to try more! read more

Stopped by for some pastry's today. Cozy corner store right next to farmers market so stuff goes quick. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The line mives so fast even. Picked up a croissant and some bread. The only reason for 4 vs 5 stars was that the croissant was more bread than pastry. read more

Snapdragon bakery blew my mind! I fancy myself a connoisseur of cinnamon rolls since I was a child. There have been a few good rolls over the years, but Snapdragon's put them all to shame. It was...magnificent! Truly! The platonic ideal of the king of pastries...Big, a delicious croissant-like dough but denser, cinnamon in a delicious frosting spread throughout...a swirling religious experience in a pastry. It gets better. I stopped on my way out and told the gentleman behind the counter this was indeed the best cinnamon roll of my life. This is a MUST GO when visiting West Seattle! They are only open on the weekends, but worth the wait. There is always a crowd, but the bakery staff take turns walking down the line to take orders - love this foresight and efficiency! Both sweet and savory baked goods are well represented, as well as the familiar options and the exotic. I have not had a bad item yet... things to try: - cannoli. These are legit with a beautiful cookie and lush ricotta filling. - savory pies. I've tried a bunch; they're easily shareable or can be saved for another meal, but no. I can never restrain myself! - cinnamon rolls. Nice chew and not overly sweet. But my absolute MUST HAVE item is the whole wheat bread. It makes the most incredible toast; even the most humble peanut butter and jelly sandwich is elevated. I always keep a few slices in the freezer. Again - try this bakery. All of our choices were fantastic! There was a line almost to the door when we got there, but they had some staff come out and take orders while we were in line so it went pretty quick and smoothly. It was so hard for me to figure out what I wanted because there was soooo much to choose from. Funny thing was a new tray of something amazing came out and when I asked the staff member helping us he said it was Chocolate Cherry coffee cake. Ok, DONE, decision made. It was incredible! The "cake" was dense and moist and had a good amount of fresh cherries baked in. The generous chocolate drizzle on top was perfect. It was heaven with the coffee we got on our stroll toward the Farmers' Market. We were there on a Sunday around 11am and the line was steady as the shop is at the end of where the Farmer's Market is blocked off to cars. The bakery selections are many and the portion sizes are huge! Some of the savory selections can be up to $14, but the curry samosa my daughter got was not only huge, it easily weighed at least 1 pound, maybe a pound and a half! It was stuffed with potatoes, curry and amazing spices. We all shared with each other and she still had 1/2 to save for dinner or a snack. We ate our delectables outside on some chairs they had and several people passed by admiring our pastries. Two people even decided to go stand in line after they saw our food. We told them it is worth the wait. They came out with a box each. Not only are the bakery goods a treat, the people at the shop are fantastic and the people out on a sunny Sunday enjoying the weather and the market were so friendly and pleasant. In a world of patisserie-influenced baked goods, Snapdragon feels like a throwback to the type of pastries that predominated Seattle in my youth, baked by half-time hippie mom's and catering to the broad demographic in those days of Goretex clad tree-huggers and Scandahoovian clog dancers. Big, gooey, moist and delicious; these are the type of pastries that don't merely dance upon your taste buds, but which fill up your insides with all the elements one associates with the modern American safe space (minus the pet). We ordered the Samosa, which is more of a pie in terms of size than what I associate with a traditional samosa. Foolishly ceding control of our order to our stomachs, we added another outsized galette and fruit danish to our order, resulting in a full eating plan for our entire household for much of the week ahead. As a caloric compromise, the weight of the box offered a good workout for my biceps. Service was friendly and efficient. If I had a quibble it was for a bakery that only opens at 10 am, but it is understandable given their oven is in Vashon Island in their mothership location. West Seattle is fortunate to have Snapdragon. read more

Excellent homespun baked goods! Generous sized portions. Both sweet and savory items. This shop is a nice corner that has sidewalk tables to sit and in shop to enjoy their baked goods. I especially liked cream cheese fruit danishes. Very friendly, helpful, polite and kind staff. read more

THE BEST CHAI outside of India and Santa Cruz, CA. I am a chai snob having grown up with hippies and being vegan since the 80's. I am used to people making chai from scratch. Not what most places pass as chai with powdered, boxed or processed, dark, liquid-sugar! Snapdragon is THE ONLY location I have found that does it right, down to the vegan aspect of it - NO DAIRY here! Made with Almond milk and SO good! And don't even get me started on their bakery goods! Also, the best in Seattle, if not the Pacific Northwest, honestly. I am also a bakery snob having grown up with a pastry chef for a step-mother and in a baking family. Snapdragon nails everything I have tried! And no, I do not work for them! I am just amazed I have found true food heaven outside my hometown and home! They have one pastry that is underserving it by naming it a samosa. This looks more like a calzone! It is stuffed with potatoes and veg soaked in creamy curry. The pastry dances a little jig on your tongue - it has a bite! And their sweets are just as tantalizing, but in the opposite direction. I was afraid to write this review and have the lines become even longer down the street! But, they MUST stay in West Seattle! I LOVE them!
