If you're interested in my experience, keep reading. I arrived today 9/23/26 @ around 11am to have a meeting with a United States Navy Sailor in uniform. It was 3 of us at a table. Soon after we all arrived I got up from our chosen table to order at the counter. The young female barista was making a drink and Colin saw me. Eventually I went to go sit back down because I assumed they were busy. 15 minutes later Colin came over to our table, left a menu and muttered something. Soon after that, he came back again in the middle of our meeting and muttered something again. He repeated in a very agitated tone, "You guys can hang out but you have to order something". Two of us told him we tried to order earlier, to which he replied something along the lines of "well we're wide open now". I had genuinely never seen or heard a barista act this way. I thought he's just having a bad day from the way he's walking around the shop, so I told him I'd go right up to order. Later, Colin generously brought over my toast and I said "thank you so much" and "thank you" as he tossed my napkins on the table. He did all of this in silence. Soon after, he put up a hand written sign on the door that said "We close at 1". An odd experience, to say the least

It was I believe and 'Blue and Grapefruit' - and that wasn't my favorite as someone who doesn't really care for grapefruit that much. I got it thinking it would be diluted a bit, SO, if you like grapefruit, I'm sure it's perfect for you. I can't say that I've really spent any time at a Colectivo since the one at Bayshore closed, so this was a nice opportunity to reacquaint myself with their offerings and I came away impressed for the most part. For coffee, I went with the Peppermint Fluff Latte, and I must say it was an excellent choice on my part. They didn't skip on the mint and it really felt like a perfect drink for a cold day with Christmas just around the corner. Foodwise, I selected a cowgirl cookie (a bit too overcooked for my tastes, though the half of the salted choco cookie my husband ordered was quite good and I would recommend that one) and the Bacon Egg and Cheese Croissant. The croissant was a bit more squat than I was expecting, but it lent itself to the sandwich well and while a bit miserly on the cheese, it was overall a very good sandwich. I went five stars instead of four because the staff was really quite excellent. I fully expected the usual crew of hungover hipsters you see at most other coffee shops but instead I found a fun, friendly bunch that were happy to help.
