I didn't take any photos inside this time but their patio is quite amazing. If you go in the weekends before noon, be prepared to wait awhile. There's just no getting around that unfortunately. Being right off Lincoln Memorial Drive and the Oak Leaf Trail, it's an amazing spot whether you drive, bike, or walk from wherever you're coming from. Parking is limited in their lot, but there's an additional free public parking lot across the street with plenty of availability. For non-coffee drinkers, there's a lot of great menu options for alternatives, as well as some solid food options.

I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte, with a little lavender and a little vanilla, in a mug. The barista did a nice job and gave the tea a good long steep. It had excellent flavor, and the temperature was right (about 140°F). It would have been even better with a bit more foam on top. For bakery items, they had a big pile of large cookies (cowboy?), but not much else. The food menu is a little sparse but has some good options for breakfast or lunch sandwiches. I ordered a Cubano sandwich, which turned out to be an excellent choice. It came out hot, with nicely grilled bread and savory meats inside. The roasted pork was especially tender and flavorful. It came with a small container of slaw, which was a little uninspiring. Service: The person who took my order and made my drink did a nice job. She took her time and did a good job with the drink. I appreciated that they delivered both the drink and the food to the table. She was a bit soft-spoken and a little hard to hear with the music playing. Efficient, but not especially outgoing. Atmosphere: The space has a bit of an industrial minimalist feel. High ceilings with the mechanicals in plain sight, along with colorful paint and design elements. Seating can accommodate groups of different sizes, though there aren't too many spots ideal for couples. The space can be a bit echoey, and the volume of the music could make conversation challenging at times. I can't say that I've really spent any time at a Colectivo since the one at Bayshore closed, so this was a nice opportunity to reacquaint myself with their offerings and I came away impressed for the most part. For coffee, I went with the Peppermint Fluff Latte, and I must say it was an excellent choice on my part. They didn't skip on the mint and it really felt like a perfect drink for a cold day with Christmas just around the corner. Foodwise, I selected a cowgirl cookie (a bit too overcooked for my tastes, though the half of the salted choco cookie my husband ordered was quite good and I would recommend that one) and the Bacon Egg and Cheese Croissant. The croissant was a bit more squat than I was expecting, but it lent itself to the sandwich well and while a bit miserly on the cheese, it was overall a very good sandwich. I went five stars instead of four because the staff was really quite excellent. I fully expected the usual crew of hungover hipsters you see at most other coffee shops but instead I found a fun, friendly bunch that were happy to help.

I had assumed it was a matcha latte, but was pleasantly surprised that it was more of a refresher - similar to a more-common matcha lemonade. The mango nectar went well with the matcha to balance each other out and I would suggest this happen at more places! My girlfriend got the Filipino Breakfast Sammy (my anticipated meal). This also came on a nice focaccia, with some cheese and a nice square egg. The Filipino aspects felt a bit off to me, with the longanisa patty not having the bouncy texture I was accustomed to, and was much more peppery than sweet, a sweet additional sauce would have been nice. I also think the atchara could have also been more pickled. For her drink, she got a Tiramisu Latte. This wasn't actually on the menu, but they let her make the Tiramisu Cold Brew into a latte. There wasn't much of a difference than a normal latte, so there was that. We're used to mega sugar coffee, so this wasn't really for us. The space itself was very cozy and felt very communal. Overall, there seemed to be lots of appreciation for Asian culture in the space as well as the menu. I think maybe our picks weren't too much for us, but I think they do have other options that may have been more up our alley. Something I'll say is that while the area was nice, the staff did not seem to really want to be there. Ordering at the counter felt awkward and we just did not get a welcoming vibe at all. Just a very so-so experience for us this time.
