I have really grown to enjoy espresso tonics. I was in shopping at Blick Art Materials in Third Ward and asked where there was a good coffee shop and the associates all concurred that Likewise Coffee had both great coffee and a nice, peaceful space to enjoy it. THEY WERE RIGHT! I was ready to get a latte when I spied the Black Magic Espresso Tonic on the Fall Offering Menu! This is hands down the BEST ESPRESSO TONIC I've ever enjoyed! It was made with espresso, tonic with concord grape juice, lemon, spiced honey and was artfully capped with a star of anise! LOVE IT!
Likewise has an awesome ambience--it's the perfect place to hang out, relax, and catch up with friends. The lighting in here is amazing--there's an abundance of natural light and it's definitely a feel good place even in cooler weather. The drinks are consistently good too--I tried both the PSL and the Chaider (50 Chai/50 apple cider). The cider is from a local orchard too, which I love. I don't know why I haven't stopped by more often, Likewise is easily one of my favorite coffee shops in MKE and it's conveniently located near a lot of cool things.
Likewise is a super cute coffee shop located in the Third Ward. They have fun seasonal drink options and the basics in terms of coffees and teas. I have not yet tried their food options so can't speak on those just yet. I will say when I stopped in on a Monday afternoon, I had to wait quite a bit to place my order (I was only one in line) and staff was not the friendliest, but I will always give places another chance. My mint tea latte overall was really good! Will be back to try some additional menu items.
If you're a coffeeshop laptop warrior this would fit your needs fine. Lots of work surfaces, tables, and room to spread out in, free WiFi and clean modern decor. That's all good and well, and if I had my laptop with me I'd probably have spent a lot more time here. But I didn't, and so the barren surfaces, dim lighting and businesslike vibe just hastened my departure. Don't get me wrong; the coffee/drinks are good, the baristas are on point, service is businesslike and the place is clean, but it's also a bit colorless and light on ambiance. I guess it all depends on your mood: Are you here to work or just chill?
First time here. Came with a friend on a Sunday morning. At this time of day, it was relatively quiet (with the exception of a rumbling motorcycle or two). The place is bright and cheery. Inside, there's lots of natural light from the big windows. There are several tables outside and plenty of other seating inside. It wasn't too busy inside, and we got to order right away. Got a friendly greeting from the baristas. We ordered a couple of London Fogs (a little vanilla, a little lavender, and extra foam) and the Citrus Ginger Scones, although they had other scones that looked equally delicious -- Breakfast Sausage or Spinach Feta (can those really be scones?) The London Fogs came out perfectly, and they even did some wonderful latte art. The extra foam was plentiful and luxurious (no skipping here). Decided to take these outside and sit in the cool morning air. Nice spot that allowed for a long, quiet conversation. Great first experience. Would definitely come back.
Great coffee shop with lots of plants and a spacious layout that's perfect for working, chatting, or just hanging out. The coffee and pour-overs are delicious, and I really appreciated the variety of gluten-free options. The baristas are knowledgeable and helpful, which makes the experience even better. Solid spot I'd happily return to.
Great modern vibes in this coffee shop downtown. Lots of open space, lots of people, plenty of tables, airy vibes. Hard wooden chairs to discourage prolonged stays, though it looks like students with laptops aren't much dissuaded. Coffee and latte were good. The cashier wasn't the friendliest of people I've met, but not rude or anything. Overall vibes are good, but not my cup of tea.
I still love the atmosphere, bright and open space, and the huge windows which bring in this brightness (when the weather is in a good mood). The coffee is fantastic. I haven't had the food but looks very tasty. And I love working remotely in this space. All the plants!! However, the service ranges consistently from indifference to just awful. This afternoon for example - I said hello to the barista as I stepped up to the counter. Nothing. A blank, vacant stare. I've worked in the service for years. I get that customers can be jerks, rude, and/or just plain hostile. But come on. A simple acknowledgment of my existence isn't much to ask for or a basic greeting, right?
One of my favorite coffee shops, mainly because of the espresso flavor. A lot of coffee shops don't nail that pure coffee flavor but this place does! The place is adorable, very open and bright. Makes it easy to study or work. Greenery, which is a nice addition to the ambiance. The service is amazing, very knowledgeable people! We love their tasty pastries and their sausage pastry is to die for! I always go with the vanilla bean latte, iced. Not too sweet, just perfect! There is one barista that froths the milk and pours it over the iced espresso... which I can never find anywhere else. I feel like lattes should be like this, even though it's iced. Perfection!
The clutter free, clean and modern look of Likewise is refreshing and welcoming. I always get their cortados and it's perfect every time, flavor and look-wise. It's a great stop for a pick-me-up!
I've been here a couple of times in the past few weeks and got the chai tea latte both times. It's honestly really yummy. Both times there's a good amount of people in there and the seating setup isn't as comfy but the aesthetic is really nice and modern. The greenery and clean lines make it an inviting space to enjoy. I would definitely revisit when I'm in the area.
Bright spacious modern industrial coffee house with an organic feel sprinkled with pretty plants, it has an inviting vibe to it and a nice place to meetup with friends. Service is great, fast and easy I ordered a decaf latte with oat milk and came out looking so pretty with the latte art! Easily one of my favorite coffee places in the third ward!
This was the perfect pit stop on a very cold day. I ordered a hot vanilla bean latte and a hot golden milk (Stay Golden) that warmed me right up! They were delicious. The vanilla bean latte was smooth and creamy. I thought the sweetness level was very balanced. The golden milk was good as well, but it was very gritty because of the turmeric and cinnamon grinds. There was plenty of seating inside and big windows that let in a lot of sunlight. I think this place is good for hangouts or for studying/doing work. They also have coffee beans and loose leaf tea for sale as well as other Likewise coffee merch (i.e. stickers, shirts, mugs, etc.) The service was good. There was only 1 barista when I came in, so she was taking all the orders and making the drinks as well. She was friendly, and the drinks came out relatively quick.

An elegant coffee shop with some exotic pour overs, brewed coffees amd Teas. There areaome seasonal drinks as well. The Bananaramais delicious. Try thier pour over, they are different. read more
What a cute and quiet coffee shop, perfect for doing work or homework. Stopped here after shopping in the third ward and the baristas were warm and friendly. We ordered an iced tea and one of their premade juices and they were both good! Definitely worth coming in and enjoying the calm vibe with some good drinks. read more

Amazing and unique lattes! I went for the first time today and was impressed. Tried the fennel beet latte and can say I've never had anything like it before. Was delicious and balanced. I am exited to try other coffees/lattes from here. The ambiance inside is warm and welcoming. Definitely recommend!! read more

This place is a GEM! I love the décor, the music, the staff is friendly, and of course the drink selections. I opted for a pour over to go, because they were out of tonic, but I definitely need to come back for their tonic espresso drinks. If I didn't have to be on calls and meetings all the time for work, I would absolutely hang out here all day. read more
Very modern coffee spot in a great walking location. Huge on the inside spacious and even has a patio for summer. The syrups are made in house and they use organic sugar so your coffee/pastry may not be as sweet BUT it is still good. Coffee cake and peppermint seasonal Iced coffee was 8/10 Will be back to try more drinks. read more

I got the ice tea with lavender and it was very good! I'm not a coffee drinker so cannot comment on that. But the tea was great. Very modern looking place with lots of sunlight. I did some work there for a couple hours and felt so productive. read more

Scheduled a meeting of the minds with my girl cousins. This was the perfect place to do it! The vibe was lively, not too loud, perfect for our brainstorming sesh. I ordered a cappuccino and coffee cake with jam and found a nice corner of the shop to get comfy in. Service was fast and friendly. Loved my cappuccino. The coffee cake was perfect - not too sweet! Parking was nice and easy. I'll definitely be back to try other drinks and treats! read more

From Columbus OH, love a good pourover, spro, cap, etc. so I was excited to check out likewise in Milwaukee sorting through different shops and places to visit. Everything was great initially. Ambience, the vibe, the roasted beans from Wonderstate coffee. Wasn't really greeted which is fine been to plenty of snobbier places lol but we placed our order and all was well... But what sucked was as I was waiting for a nice Ethiopian Danche pourover... my eyes and soul began to hurt. I saw the barista making the pourover- by simply pouring a consistent downstream into the center of the v60. No circular motion, which- as you know if you make pourover- will drastically change how the cup is brewed. I was giving the benefit of the doubt about it maybe hoping it was at the tail end of the pour... but first taste. No notes of PEACH RINGS, CANDIED ORANGE & BERGAMOT... but a very sour pour. I'm sure if the barista knew what he was doing it would've been amazing- but this left a quite literal sour and distasteful feeling. I asked about the pourover recipe and he seemed to kinda know what he was talking about. If you want spro, my wife's vanilla latte tasted like it was distinct from others and was quite good- but for pourover lovers, just be careful. All the great reviews had me hopeful and left very disappointed. Good place despite that! read more
This was a serene and roomy cafe with well spaced out tables inside and patio seating as well. The greenery throughout and used as dividers gave the cafe a very relaxing vibe. This was located in the busy Third Ward and was a welcome respite from the forecasted rain. I enjoyed an iced hibiscus tea and my friends had a latte with pretty art and an iced drink. The aesthetic here is delightful! Something so enjoyable about how simplistic their space is. The floor-to-ceiling windows allow in so much natural light too, which is great. Oh and their coffee, that's great too :) I always try to opt for a local spot when I'm after a caffeine fix. Likewise offers simple, yet tasty cafe drinks. I'm a fan of their latte! I do wish they had other alt-milk options apart from oat (as that's definitely not my fave), but it was still a tasty drink. Super creamy. Also had to snag something out of the baked-goods section. Again, small and simple selection but ya can't go wrong. I really loved their granola bar... you can tell it's fresh-made! Not only was it huge, it was packed with yummy goodness like oats, pumpkin seeds, pb, and flax. My kind of snack. Worth coming here if you're just passing by, or to hang out with your book or laptop for a bit! I certainly know I'll return. read more

Nice place for a good cup of coffee. Found this place thanks to Yelp! After having lunch nearby, yelped and found this gem. The coffee was delicious. Atmosphere was good. We went around 2pm and there was plenty of seating. read more
