I have really grown to enjoy espresso tonics. I was in shopping at Blick Art Materials in Third Ward and asked where there was a good coffee shop and the associates all concurred that Likewise Coffee had both great coffee and a nice, peaceful space to enjoy it. THEY WERE RIGHT! I was ready to get a latte when I spied the Black Magic Espresso Tonic on the Fall Offering Menu! This is hands down the BEST ESPRESSO TONIC I've ever enjoyed! Likewise is a super cute coffee shop located in the Third Ward. They have fun seasonal drink options and the basics in terms of coffees and teas. I have not yet tried their food options so can't speak on those just yet. I will say when I stopped in on a Monday afternoon, I had to wait quite a bit to place my order (I was only one in line) and staff was not the friendliest, but I will always give places another chance. Amazing and unique lattes! I went for the first time today and was impressed. Tried the fennel beet latte and can say I've never had anything like it before. Was delicious and balanced. Likewise has an awesome ambience--it's the perfect place to hang out, relax, and catch up with friends. The lighting in here is amazing--there's an abundance of natural light and it's definitely a feel good place even in cooler weather. The drinks are consistently good too--I tried both the PSL and the Chaider (50 Chai/50 apple cider). The cider is from a local orchard too, which I love. I don't know why I haven't stopped by more often, Likewise is easily one of my favorite coffee shops in MKE and it's conveniently located near a lot of cool things. read more

If you're a coffeeshop laptop warrior this would fit your needs fine. Lots of work surfaces, tables, and room to spread out in, free WiFi and clean modern decor. That's all good and well, and if I had my laptop with me I'd probably have spent a lot more time here. But I didn't, and so the barren surfaces, dim lighting and businesslike vibe just hastened my departure. First time here. Came with a friend on a Sunday morning. At this time of day, it was relatively quiet (with the exception of a rumbling motorcycle or two). The place is bright and cheery. Inside, there's lots of natural light from the big windows. There are several tables outside and plenty of other seating inside. It wasn't too busy inside, and we got to order right away. Got a friendly greeting from the baristas. We ordered a couple of London Fogs (a little vanilla, a little lavender, and extra foam) and the Citrus Ginger Scones, although they had other scones that looked equally delicious -- Breakfast Sausage or Spinach Feta (can those really be scones?) The London Fogs came out perfectly, and they even did some wonderful latte art. The extra foam was plentiful and luxurious (no skipping here). Decided to take these outside and sit in the cool morning air. Nice spot that allowed for a long, quiet conversation. Great first experience. Would definitely come back. read more

I haven't had the food but looks very tasty. And I love working remotely in this space. All the plants!! However, the service ranges consistently from indifference to just awful. One of my favorite coffee shops, mainly because of the espresso flavor. A lot of coffee shops don't nail that pure coffee flavor but this place does! The place is adorable, very open and bright. Makes it easy to study or work. Greenery, which is a nice addition to the ambiance. The service is amazing, very knowledgeable people! This was the perfect pit stop on a very cold day. I ordered a hot vanilla bean latte and a hot golden milk (Stay Golden) that warmed me right up! They were delicious. The vanilla bean latte was smooth and creamy. I thought the sweetness level was very balanced. The golden milk was good as well, but it was very gritty because of the turmeric and cinnamon grinds. There was plenty of seating inside and big windows that let in a lot of sunlight. I think this place is good for hangouts or for studying/doing work. They also have coffee beans and loose leaf tea for sale as well as other Likewise coffee merch (i.e. stickers, shirts, mugs, etc.) The service was good. A great place to get some work done! Likewise is a great coffee shop nestled in the third ward. Parking can be sparse sometimes. I do enjoy the overall ambiance and seating. It also feels more like a community atmosphere which is nice. I also enjoyed that in the month of February you can get a free espresso. From Columbus OH, love a good pourover, spro, cap, etc. so I was excited to check out likewise in Milwaukee sorting through different shops and places to visit. Everything was great initially. Ambience, the vibe, the roasted beans from Wonderstate coffee. Wasn't really greeted which is fine been to plenty of snobbier places lol but we placed our order and all was well... But what sucked was as I was waiting for a nice Ethiopian Danche pourover... my eyes and soul began to hurt. I saw the barista making the pourover- by simply pouring a consistent downstream into the center of the v60. No circular motion, which- as you know if you make pourover- will drastically change how the cup is brewed. I was giving the benefit of the doubt about it maybe hoping it was at the tail end of the pour... but first taste. No notes of PEACH RINGS, CANDIED ORANGE & BERGAMOT... but a very sour pour. I'm sure if the barista knew what he was doing it would've been amazing- but this left a quite literal sour and distasteful feeling. I asked about the pourover recipe and he seemed to kinda know what he was talking about. If you want spro, my wife's vanilla latte tasted like it was distinct from others and was quite good- but for pourover lovers, just be careful. The aesthetic here is delightful! Something so enjoyable about how simplistic their space is. The floor-to-ceiling windows allow in so much natural light too, which is great. The employee was a blonde curly haired male presenting person. My mom asked a few questions about coffee and the employee was very short and unhelpful. I observed this and tried asking questions as well and he continued to be short and disengaged. We stopped by this coffee shop partly because it offered each guest a free espresso per day in February. The ambiance of the place is very inviting, decorated with beautiful plants and furnished with modern chairs and tables. We got our free espresso and shared a small chocolate cake. The cake was very tasty and not too sweet (which we liked). But the espresso gave an overwhelmingly sour taste. I'm more of a tea drinker and rarely drink coffee unless I'm traveling outside the U.S. (especially in Europe). For reasons that I don't quite understand, espresso sold at U.S. coffee shops tends to be rather sour and not nearly as smooth. I'm told that the sourness is not as pronounced in a cappuccino or latte with a lot of milk and sugar added. I was hoping that the espresso at Likewise Coffee was smooth and did not give a strong sour taste, but I was disappointed. read more

I love the location of Likewise Coffee, as it is very close to the river walk area and has a cute outdoor patio. I ordered an iced vanilla bean latte with oat milk, and it was absolutely perfect. It was creamy and not overly sweet. The shop itself has a lot of coffee beans for purchase as well as cute merchandise. There is quite a bit of seating and it wasn't overly noisy inside. I also felt like the price of their coffee, considering it is a specialty coffee shop, was reasonable and worth what I paid. This is definitely top on my list of coffee shops to frequent! read more
