A great coffee spot in the Third Ward! Homemade syrups, bakery section from Grebes, and breakfast foods are available. The baristas work as quick as possible and this place can get pretty busy. There are plenty of tables to eat and work at. There are also a few tables available outside. They're open until 6pm so also a third space to hangout.
One of my favorite third ward coffee shops! Convenient location, staff is always friendly, and I love that syrups are homemade. Overall great coffee , I have yet to try out some of their food items. Also makes for a great place to work/study as well. I Definitely recommend trying out Valentine!
This place has been a part of my mornings for several years now. Friendly service with a smile every time. I'm there every few months for my favorite coffee Bering Sea.. This 2 pound bag lasts me about 3 months. This place has a small menu of pastries and sandwiches a little bit more than coffee. Great place to sit and enjoy a quick snack or coffee. Great atmosphere and good locations...If you love coffee try this place.
Bustling on a Sunday morning in June, Valentine is a cute little coffee shop with a good brunch menu. It's on a corner in an older building with steep steps up to it, so be cautious if you have mobility issues. The line was pretty long at 9AM, but moved decently fast. The wait for ordered food was a lot longer. The coffee was strong but not particularly good, and the food was just ok. Not a bad spot if you have time to sit and enjoy, but not somewhere to go in a rush.
Love valentine coffee! The perfect stop after a work out class or while you are moseying around the Third Ward. Friendly staff, great seasonal drinks. Wonderful lighting and plants all around the space for a great spot to sit and chat or even work!
I found Valentine Coffee while I was walking around after an appointment. I love coffee so it was a no brainer for me to step in and try it out. The bakery items all looked DELICIOUS, I wish I could have tried them all then. The staff I dealt with was also friendly all-around as I had questions and was pretty indecisive (sorry!) about what I wanted. So, the staff was wonderful, my order was quick AND delicious, and I will definitely come back. It was a place that was very welcoming and I personally think there's something on the menu, both food and beverage, for any and every one.
Top tier Cortado. The egg w/avocado "schmear" was ok but needed a little salt and pepper. The crew provided excellent service and the cafe was clean. There's regular seating and some bar seating. Big windows that bring in the light on a sunny summer morning.
First time stopping in to Valentine's. It was a Saturday morning, and the Third Ward was bustling with activity. The coffee shop is on a busy corner with plenty of foot traffic. It's a beautiful brick building with a welcoming entrance and large windows. Inside, there's lots of natural light from the windows all around. You're greeted by merchandise displays as you wait in line. Seating includes a few small tables for two and counter spots for individuals. It was a bit of a wait until I got to the cashier to place my order. I received a friendly greeting and some helpful guidance while ordering my favorite London Fog Tea Latte and a Chocolate Chip Scone. I sat at a small table while they steeped my tea and finished the drink. It took a little while for my beverage to come out, as there were other people ahead of me who had ordered beverages and custom food items (breakfast sandwiches, etc.). When the tea latte arrived, it was excellent -- little lavender, little vanilla, extra foam. The scone was good too -- dry and crumbly, like a scone should be -- though I should have asked for it to be warmed. The noise level was a bit high, but with AirPods I was able to comfortably read my book. A lively but comfortable spot.
I decided to try out this coffee shop based of a recommendation but was very disappointed in their Pistachio Rose Iced Latte. All I tasted was sweet milk. I was tempted to buy another shot of espresso to add to my Iced Latte so it tasted like an latte at least but decided to once I got home with my own espresso machine. I regretted spending money here instead of making an iced latte at home.
A cute coffee shop right in the heart of the Historic Third Ward. Prices are great, lots of seating, and the coffee is delicious. Highly recommend for those staying at the nearby hotels.
Great ambiance. I'm currently in law school and this is one of my go-to study spots. I got a flavored iced tea and it was so good! I'm not a coffee drinker, so usually I'm disappointed by the non-coffee options, but not here!
Walked over here after eating breakfast nearby, defiantly is a busy coffee shop and seems hard to find seating since so many people are in there either working or studying. They had seasonal specials for winter but I decided to try their fall special which was a spice latte. It was very good, definitely will come back.
My Cortado was great, but they do all the other usual coffee drinks too, and the baristas are on the money. There's a small kitchen cranking out egg sandwiches, burritos and such, and it's paired with cheery service. Enjoy the vibe here; it's a cool vintage-y meets-industrial but not cloying space with tall ceilings and lots of windows, and a great spot to work in. Seating is basic - some counter stools but also a few tables with bench seating against the walls. A couple of outdoor tables on the sidewalk too. A nice, no frills breakfast spot.
Look I'm in Milwaukee's third ward strolling around of course I'm gonna get coffee. I'm glad I missed the 2 cafes first cause Valentine has the most amazing Borgia latte - dark chocolate, sea salt, mocha, orange peel, and you can taste all of it. Especially the orange. They have an actual orange peel inside. I also had the ice lavender latte it was good. This space is industrial chic. It has exposed wooden beams, brick walls, wide open windows, interesting tile wall by the counter, this space has lots of Character read more
Valentine Coffee Roasters has very cute decor and extremely friendly staff. I ordered the matcha latte with honey, but unfortunately it was far too milky with no real matcha flavor coming through. Bummer for the price of the drink. I'd go back, but to try an espresso drink next time instead. read more

This is my favorite coffee spot in Milwaukee. The iced latte is amazing & I always get the breakfast sandwich with Gouda, siracha mayo, and add bacon! Definitely not cheap but so great. Service is always nice and vibes are always high! They even have cocktail / bar service! And bathrooms are well kept. read more

Not only was the barista on point from the moment we walked through the door, he most certainly set the tone for the duration of our visit. He was very Knowledgeable of the all the drinks, offered great suggestions and kept a quick work pace to keep the flow moving. The pricing was reasonable, the matcha was nothing less than amazing and the cinnamon scone was very delicious. The vibe is pretty chill but it is in a foot traffic area so I wouldn't doubt it gets crazy busy during peak hours. read more
I didn't get a chance to try the food but the coffee was amazing. The baristas were very kind and welcoming. The cafe was also very aesthetically pleasing. The only downside is the price. The small latte in my hand makes me look like a giant but I payed over $7 for it. I would definitely come here again but not on a regular basis or during a rough month financially. Also bonus: they closed the card early for Easter. I appreciated this because though I wanted to stay longer, it allows for their employees to spend time with their families if they celebrate. I always want to recognize a cafe who cares for their employees. read more

Amazing vanilla latte - so good that instead of going somewhere else to try another coffee shop the next day, I came back. It's cute, there's WiFi, they serve alcohol, and there were a lot of tables. Right across the street from the journeyman kimpton hotel which was convenient read more

Really inviting coffee shop right in the third ward. One of the best lattes I've ever had. Very smooth. read more
Valentine is affordable, tasty and cozy inside. There is a wait usually with the mobile orders and in-person orders, they are busy! Valentine is in my neighborhood and I will choose this over Collectivo or Likewise because it is always consistent and great price. I recommend getting the power scone too, it's delicious! read more
Another entry in the "local chain" coffee shops. Took a walk from our hotel to the lake in the morning and stopped in to fuel up. The best thing about this spot is the location right on the edge of the Third Ward and a few blocks from the Public Market. It's a nice, but small, shop with cafe-style brunch food and your standard drinks. There are a few tables to hang out and work but not a lot so I imagine it fills up pretty quick at busier times. The service was fine so no complaints on that front. The coffee itself was decent but probably my least favorite of the spots we tried on the trip. It wasn't bad by any means but I'd call it "unremarkable". I'd like to try their food at some point because that might bump it up the list but for now I think I'd head someplace else if making a special trip to grab some coffee. read more
We were politely greeted immediately. It was New Years morning. It was busy but we were helped right away. Bryce asked detailed questions about our coffees so he got it right. My husband ordered an egg, turkey sausage sandwich with Gouda cheese and sriracha mayonnaise. I ordered a peppermint mocha. The cafe was warm and welcoming. We could have sat longer it was so cozy. I bought whole beans for a gift and they ground it up for me. We will be returning. read more

Valentine is a cool spot. The food is great and the coffee is tasty. It's a bit expensive, and not the most convenient to get in and out of, but if you are walking around the area, it isn't too bad. Expect a bit of a wait, but worth it in my opinion. They have Grebes bakery as well I believe, which is a Milwaukee staple. read more

This Friday, my mom and I stopped by Valentine in the Third Ward for a quick coffee before hitting some stores. I ordered an iced lavender latte (my go-to at any coffee shop), and it did not disappoint. My mom tried one of their specialty lattes with dark chocolate and sea salt, which she really enjoyed. The space had plenty of tables, making it a great spot to come back and get some work done--or even tackle grad school assignments. I also noticed they have a solid food menu with options like breakfast burritos. The service was quick, and the vibe was perfect with lots of natural light coming through the big windows. read more

Sublime vintage corner coffee shop in downtown Milwaukee took me by surprise, Valentine is a quint blend of old fashioned small space, comfortable seating, and friendly service. Menu matched the glorious bright vibes. I had just done coffee earlier down the block so went for the Asian green brew with peach. They happily filled my metal travel tumbler, topped with rich house made cream that welcomed matrimony with the matcha and peach, like a decadent dessert crumble for a summer's picnic. Had me cracking down on myself to resist sipping it all away before I made it out of the city, this is the rare cultured culinary cuisine that makes Starbucks look like a Fisher Price kitchen. Can too easily recommend, wish I could move next door! read more

Made another stop into this Valentine location, and I just had to come back to Yelp to share that it was yet again a positive experience. If you haven't yet been, I definitely recommend checking out and supporting this local coffee shop. It's tucked in the Third Ward, a great location if you ask me. It's small but quaint, always has a friendly face behind the counter, and offers all ya need for cafe drinks and eats. The other day I needed a place to pop open my computer and get a quick caffeine fix. I went for my usual latte with almond milk, but this time was drawn the power scone. Great choice by me! It was better than your typical scone, more moist and filled with tasty extras like cranberries, oats, and nuts and seeds. Really enjoyed it and thought it complimented the coffee nicely. I will say, it's often hard to grab a spot to sit here! When I arrived, every table but one was available. I guess that speaks to how much it's enjoyed my the community. read more
