I've been wanting to try Love Cafe for the longest time after seeing one of their matcha drinks on Instagram, and they didn't disappoint at all! The staff were incredibly friendly and I love how bright it is inside! There's not a ton of seats (I don't know if this would be a place for big groups), but I was able to snag one in the back. I got the baby blue matcha which had a wild blueberry and lychee compote with lavender. It was so good!! They also have a ton of other drinks (I would love to try their ube drink, mango matcha, or hojicha next). I ordered the pool party smoothie and filipino breakfast sammy to go. The smoothie was solid and the breakfast sammy was so good! I loved the addition of atchara (pickled ginger, carrots, papaya, and garlic). On top of delicious drinks and food, they also offer yoga classes on Tuesdays and Saturdays and other fun events!

Adorable little coffee shop nestled in Shorewood! Been dying to go here since they opened and they totally lived up to the hype. I got an iced ube latte and my friend ordered the Jade smoothie and they were both soooo good. There's a lot on the menu I didn't recognize so I had a lot of questions before ordering and they were very kind and helpful. A great spot to meet up with a friend or hang out on a rainy day like today! Love the little window cushion area!

Finally made it to Love Cafe and was not disappointed! The food and drinks were incredible. The focaccia and the aioli on the breakfast sandwich were 10/10. The yogurt parfait had a homemade cranberry and pear compote that was divine, as well as the granola- perfect complement. The staff was so friendly. The place is a bit small and not too much seating but we were able to grab a table!

Great food, friendly atmosphere/service, and yummy drinks. Yet to try the yoga classes or other events, but hoping to!

Date of visit: December 14, 2025…read more Our monthly coffee date with our close friends took us this time to the Colectivo in Shorewood and it was good to be close from home given the frigid temperatures we were experiencing. I can't say that I've really spent any time at a Colectivo since the one at Bayshore closed, so this was a nice opportunity to reacquaint myself with their offerings and I came away impressed for the most part. For coffee, I went with the Peppermint Fluff Latte, and I must say it was an excellent choice on my part. They didn't skip on the mint and it really felt like a perfect drink for a cold day with Christmas just around the corner. Foodwise, I selected a cowgirl cookie (a bit too overcooked for my tastes, though the half of the salted choco cookie my husband ordered was quite good and I would recommend that one) and the Bacon Egg and Cheese Croissant. The croissant was a bit more squat than I was expecting, but it lent itself to the sandwich well and while a bit miserly on the cheese, it was overall a very good sandwich. I went five stars instead of four because the staff was really quite excellent. I fully expected the usual crew of hungover hipsters you see at most other coffee shops but instead I found a fun, friendly bunch that were happy to help.

I saw this place and knew I had to visit just because of the visuals. It's even better in person…read more It seems like it's a place that is continuously added to with the smallest detail that can bring the biggest smile. I don't think that there is a wall that dosnt have some positive affirmation of sorts. It has a very authentic feel, and a maximalism approach. The air condition works just fine on a summer day but I did opt for the outdoor seating. The messages on the window are what the community needs to hear, "You are Loved" and "slow the frick down". This place really seems all inclusive. I was impressed that there IS a baby changing table in the bathroom. We tried the iced mocha, lemonade, and peach parfait that was left, because a lot was sold out. The iced mocha didn't stand out to me, but maybe that because I do like my coffee on the sweater side. The lemonade was wonderful, tasted "home made" without any pulp. We did add some of the simple syrup that was available on the table to sweeten it up just a bit. The peach parfait was great, there were pumpkin seeds in the granola which has inspired me to try and make my own. Their stickers are humorous!

Date of visit: April 29, 2026…read more I struggled to find a decent website prior to visiting to have a good idea of what we were getting into, though I don't know that I would have been less disappointed had I been more informed. I was expecting a bit more than just breakfast sandwiches in terms of food, but that is all the counter staff told us about. Later I saw people with baked goods but those weren't mentioned or visible for us to peruse. Our breakfast sandwiches were pretty average, and the coffee was just okay as well. I tried the Carrot Cake Latte and it had a hint of that flavor, but I definitely wanted a little more. The vibe is very hipster, from the bicycle crowd to the vegan folks and would really only work in a neighborhood like Riverwest!

Date of visit: April 26, 2026…read more Another place that has seemingly been around forever, but I didn't get a chance to visit until my days in Milwaukee were numbered! We came on a Sunday before they officially started serving breakfast and just had pastries available, but we were getting together with some friends for our monthly coffee date and didn't need a whole meal necessarily. The selection was a bit more limited than I would have expected from a boulangerie, but the cinnamon roll was very good (probably would have been better if it had been warmed up but that was not offered). And the cookies that we brought home (chocolate chip and gingersnap) were also very good. I also tried a bite of my husband's quiche and it was very good--definitely made in-house! The almond croissant had a generous amount of almond paste in it, and was quite sizable, too.

I feel like this place might get snoozed on a little bit. The location is a little unassuming. But…read moreit's a cute quiet cafe with delicious food and coffee. There's always something good looking in the bakery case--croissants, macarons, chocolate bombe. There's often a special for brunch or lunch too--I had a steamed mussels once that was pretty memorable. On my most recent visit I had the toasted cheese with a cup of tomate soup. The sandwiches come with a salad or potatoes. I had the salad and it was a nice array of fresh vegetables with a vinaigrette. The cheese was maybe not as all the way melted as I expected but it was still a nice treat. I couldn't resist getting the lemon cake for dessert. They had a strawberry shortcake that day too. Service was attentive and they kept my coffee cup filled. I should come here more often for weekend brunch.
