    Cheezy hash

First time having breakfast at The Lafayette Place and it was quite tasty and satisfying. I ordered the cheezy hash and the vegan jam and butter goes beautifully with the toast that accompanies the hash. It's sure to keep you full and happy for a while! Excellent service and I'm very glad to see the former Celesta site continue the trend of flavorful vegan fare. Also, there's outside seating to enjoy, weather permitting!

My only complaint is that I was too full to order everything off the menu!!! I ordered the breakfast sammie. All of the options sounded so good- it truly was a tough choice. My friend ordered the veggie melt with a cup of soup, which is her usual go to (she claims it's the best thing on tbe menu!) I ordered an oatmeal crème pie to take home, but ended up eating half of there! My friend got a carrot muffin that was super moist and flavorful. The ambiance was light and welcoming, and the servers were so cheerful. I left super full, which was the perfect excuse to take a nice nap to be the cherry on top to this great Sunday. Check it out and don't let it being a vegan menu stop you from checking it out. Packed with flavor and extremely craveable.

Wonderful vegan restaurant with lots of great options! The staff was also so nice and helpful! I got the cheesy hash and it was so good, great portion size and the flavors were spot on. And the amount of potatoes was just right!! We also got a coffee cake and cinnamon roll to split and both were equally delicious!

So this is the place you take that friend who thinks vegan is for losers. Only couch it as sustainable yum. When they tell you to try the hot sauce, do it.

Had a really pleasant lunch experience here. Walked in alone at about 1PM on a Saturday afternoon and it was quiet and not too busy in the restaurant. The two ladies behind the bar / bakery case were both very friendly. I chose to sit at the bar and liked the clean and bright dining environment already. Ordering is all through the bar code. I picked the sammy w fruit cup with a peach basil smoothie. Got a cinnamon roll by mistake but it was good. The sammy was so good - I liked all the ingredients in it: the perfectly toasted bun, the creamy guacamole with the crispy hash brown patty and the slightly spicy sauce! Highly recommend it. The smoothie was very thick and filled all the way to the top, so I felt it was worth the $8 haha. I will definitely come back. I think it's a great place for eat alone or hang with small group of friends.

Love this new vegan place. Its delicious!! My friends and I tried Lafayette Place today and its such a fun place to brunch and connect with your crew. We ordered the tofu scramble plate, ciabatta Ruby's Bagel Sandwich and the impossible burger sandwich. For drinks we got the brunch ol fashioned, a bloody Mary. The food textures were yummy and all the flavors came together beautifully. The staff is very courteous and we got to order from our very table using a QR code. The ambience is relaxed and lots of fun colors around. 100% recommended to people who are looking to be adventurous with vegan food.

Best vegan food in Milwaukee! I loved the breakfast burrito. It's pretty small inside so I prefer to order takeout but the ambiance is nice if you don't mind a wait.

So pleased to see The Lafayette Place open up here. We love The National and were pumped that they'd be continuing on with a vegan menu in this space. And the space itself is still as delightful as ever. The big bright mural really makes for a pleasant breakfast back drop. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful and ordering from our phones at the table is super easy and convenient. We've ordered brunch for pick up as well as dined in - both great experiences. You can't go wrong with the vegan breakfast sammie and the ruby's bagel sandwich is a flavorful delight. Also the smoothies we've tried so far (banana chai and blueberry muffin) were both fantastic. We haven't tried the lunch items yet, but I'm sure I'll find an excuse to as soon as possible. All around, highly recommended!

Gooodness! A fine vegan brunch experience! We were traveling and searched for vegan breakfast and came across this little gem. From the oatly lattes to the meals- my husband and I were mind blown. The food all sounded amazing so we actually ordered more than two entrees and shared them all. We had to wait a while for a spot, but totally understandable. While waiting we talked to some people that , like us, have been long time vegans. So refreshing! After we all ate we ended up talking another 45 min and by the end of our conversations we exchanged instagrams and plan on meeting up again soon. What a bonus. Can't wait to go back! Seriously, with food like this, it won't be long before they need to expand!

We were so glad to see another vegan restaurant fill this space. The inside is so charming with an excellent staff that is very attentive to their customers. We started with a hot and comforting London Fog to warm us up on a frigid day. My husband ordered the Ruby's Bagel Sandwich, a delicious vegan take on a sausage, egg and cheese bagel sandwich served with crispy breakfast potatoes. The veggie burrito was packed with flavor. I love a breakfast burrito and this one stands up to all the rest! Stuffed with roasted veggies, rice, beans and scrambled tofu this is a filling brunch option leaving you with leftovers for the next day.

My absolute favorite breakfast spot! I've gone almost once a week since they've opened. Everything I've tried has been delicious. I love so much of the menu, I usually order a second meal to go! My personal favorites are the bagel sandwich & the cheesy hash. The cold brew old fashioned is a MUST! You can't go wrong with their smoothies either. Their rotating selection of desserts are great, I especially loved the butterscotch bars. I took my non-vegan dad here as well as some other vegan breakfast spots while he was in town. Lafayette Place was by far his favorite! He wants to go back next time he visits to get the chorizo burrito again. The staff is excellent! They always create an inviting & clean environment to enjoy a meal. Special shout-out to Georgia for always providing excellent service & lovely conversation! I hope one day they add something sweet to their breakfast menu, like waffles or french toast! Then I might have to order three meals in one visit

He went early to get our bake on the list and they were spot on with the wait time. We did sit outside which I think sped things up. We all ordered an assortment of coffee beverages. There are so many great options on the menu and I was torn between three. Luckily one of my friends was torn between two of the same ones I was looking at so she split them. The spam omelette was delicious and paired well with the Johnny cakes. The Johnny cakes are massive and we ended up both taking leftovers home of that. The orange blossom syrup was really good with it. Our server was attentive and stayed on top of water refills which was appreciated as it was a warm day to be eating outside. They also have a second location which I am eager to try.

Perfectly cooked medium rare steak with chimichurri, crispy-runny eggs, and excellent potatoes holding it all together. The food is thoughtfully plated without trying too hard, and the prices feel fair for the quality. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been. Another lil Milwaukee gem!

Than we waited for the bus lady to come clean the table. I had a smile on my face as she approached me but she just swung her dish tub around me and I was so confused. I was standing there waiting for her, like IN HER WAY! Smiling and all! lol this was the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The whole vibe here is that of a toxic work environment, starting with the hostesses that have zero and I mean ZERO interest in your experience as a customer of this establishment. Frankly makes me feel sorry for the owners when they have staff like this working for them. I had to walk away from two drinks we ordered on the way out because of the second hostess's attitude with us!!! She was so rude to the lady that prepared our drinks! Than was rude to us? People just don't understand sometimes that they are in the wrong field and we as customers don't have to put up with their attitude wherever it may be coming from. It's a pass for me, sorry Xavier we won't be coming back! (Xavier was our server, he was super nice, he gets the whole customer experience portion which seems to be a foreign concept to the rest of the staff). Go elsewhere and avoid all the evident internal drama from staff directed at their customers from Sweet Diner!

We got the mimosa and Bloody Mary flights. They even flavor their own vodkas in house for the bloody's! Online it said both kinds of flights were included their special if the day, which was BOGO half off, but the staff told us the bloody flights were not included. We ordered a skillet, burrito, and harvest hash. Everything was great and came out quickly! What the restaurant is lacking is in overall aesthetic and cleanliness. It seems unfinished inside, has chipped paint, the canvas on the seats is ripping, and the floors were quite dirty where we were seated. We visited when there was only an hour left of them being open, and the staff made it seem like they were wanting to close up. If some of these items are addressed, this place has potential to be really great!

Brunch It Up (possibly in the middle of rebranding to just "Brunch.") is a classic breakfast spot in downtown Milwaukee...we were there on a Sunday morning...high brunch time, and were seated quickly upstairs. The place had an overall run-down vibe to it...scuffed paint on the walls and a general feeling of not quite matching the quality of the upscale brunch spot implied by their modern logo. Menus...I normally don't comment on the menu itself but our table featured no less than 4 different menus...the regular menu, a drink menu, a specials menu and a mimosas menu...choices are wonderful, but the immediate reaction is this is a whole mess of menus on the table, and I don't know what to look at first. It felt haphazard. Let's move on to the coffee...Coffee is an essential part of the brunch experience. Even at a diner, you want it to be strong...the mug it came in was nice, but it was weak coffee. I need coffee to kick my butt, and if you're serving what's close to "browned water" at a breakfast place, you're missing the mark. How about the food? I can't fault them for the generosity of the portions, but will say individual dishes were way too much for my wife and I...we wish smaller portions were available, so so much didn't go to waste. My wife had the Egg and Waffle sandwich with waffle fries. It was fine. I had the Harvest Hash made with egg whites...the eggs were a little overcooked. (Egg whites require a thoughtful touch when cooking them so they are finished white and not browning all over.) There are plenty of fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, and peppers in there (I guess that's the extent of the harvest in Milwaukee) The hashbrowns it all sat on were undercooked. We were excited about the croissant beignets...Available were the regular ones with chocolate or strawberry dipping sauce, and a special with a fruit dipping sauce. They couldn't mix and match sauces, so we got the special. They were okay but a bit over-fried, losing the croissant texture altogether ...I mean, there's nothing wrong with deep-fried dough with sweet things to dip them in, but we do wish they hadn't fried the croissant out of them to give us the unique experience implied by the name. The menu has plenty to choose from...every breakfast savory or sweet thing you could imagine...and on the nicely designed, modern-looking menu at looks like it could be amazing...but everything we got, plus the experience of sitting in a place that felt a little rundown, left us overall disappointed.
