Chin ky Strawberry Bowl
Nicole L.

I am a huge fan of smoothie bowls, they are very trendy and popping up everywhere, but I have yet to have a better one than Jamba Juice. They are generously sized, thick (not liquidy), and loaded with fresh fruit, nuts, and goodies on top. They have TONS of different options depending on your preferences (vanilla blue sky is low cal, island pitaya for the tropical lovers, nutty almond butter is mild and protein packed, peachy green goodness including kale to get your greens in, or the ever popular pre-made acai primo if you're in a rush!) I couldn't decide what one I wanted last time, and the employee was very patient and helpful with his suggestions - I got the chunky strawberry and was satisfied as always. They are also environmentally conscious so you can bring in your own container, decline a lid, etc. to help reduce plastic use!

Sean and his team always take care of me and make a great smoothie. Restaurant is always clean and the employees are as happy as the SNL skit. I have been very disappointed with the rewards system. They got rid of the punch cards and I stopped going everyday. They now give you a coupon based on entering your phone number, but the machine never works. It's a small thing, but I am not sure why it bothers me so much.

I love this place so happy I found one close by my place. The strawberry swirl is so yummy and good especially if it's THICK, even if it's cold one of these is delicious

Karma is one of my go to stops for a refreshing breakfast including some fresh fruits and protein!…read moreThis café smoothie bar is quaint (heads up they don't have a ton of seating inside) but such a cute spot to sit and enjoy your meal. I have been here a few times now and tried different bowls and smoothies- my top favorites include the protein bowl and the choco craze smoothie! I also love how you can customize and add in different ingredients, such as fruits, nut butters, or protein powder to make it your own. The food menu is fairly limited, but I will say that the avocado toast and bagel with cream cheese both hit the spot. They also serve coffee/tea drinks which I have yet to try, and have a variety of other items to look over in the shop. Every time I have stopped by the staff has been friendly and efficient in serving customers. Definitely recommend trying out Karma if you are in the Bayview area and are looking for some nutritious food/beverage options! (Yes this is coming from a Dietitian;) )

Karma Café is an amazing little spot in the Bay View neighborhood of Milwaukee…read more There are plenty of healthy options to choose from and the Karma Bowl was particularly delicious. The strawberries and granola on top were a nice touch, along with the drizzle of honey. I went with one other person and he had the PB Protein Smoothie which was fantastic as well! I wasn't sure how well pineapple would pair with peanut butter, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. Pineapple is such a nice addition to the traditional peanut butter and banana combo. My only gripe is the price point. $10 for a smoothie bowl and $8 for a smoothie seems a little steep. But then again, you're paying for healthy, yummy, high quality food. The gal who runs the shop is also so nice and efficient. I will definitely be returning to Karma Café!

Unfortunately only three stars for this place, although the food hall it is in is very cool…read more I had just had lunch at the Food Hall and was craving something sweet and saw they had boba drinks. They're a bit pricey, $7, but that does include the actual boba. I got the brown sugar milk tea and the taste was not great, it has oat milk in it supposedly so maybe that's why but I've had a lot of bubble tea in my life and this was just so-so, unfortunately. I'm still drinking it (as you can tell in the photo I posted, it's half gone) because it has black tea in it as well and I could use some caffeine today. The boba itself is okay though, I saw another review on here criticizing it. I can't speak to their smoothies or bowls but I probably wouldn't order boba from here again.

I have been looking for a good Acai bowl spot in Milwaukee since I discovered them about 10 years…read moreago. I have found some local spots, but the Acai was soupy. Make Waves offers their bowls with firm Acai that is cold and stays that way long enough for you to finish. I also appreciate that the granola is layered - many other spots just put it on top and before you're halfway through, you're already out of the added toppings/ingredients. They do offer smoothies and boba too, but since they're a vendor in 3rd St Market Hall, I take my bowl to the bar and order a cocktail to go with it. Make Waves is the current vendor in the food hall that I frequently return to.
