I have been here a few times now and tried different bowls and smoothies- my top favorites include the protein bowl and the choco craze smoothie! I also love how you can customize and add in different ingredients, such as fruits, nut butters, or protein powder to make it your own. The food menu is fairly limited, but I will say that the avocado toast and bagel with cream cheese both hit the spot. They also serve coffee/tea drinks which I have yet to try, and have a variety of other items to look over in the shop. Every time I have stopped by the staff has been friendly and efficient in serving customers. Definitely recommend trying out Karma if you are in the Bayview area and are looking for some nutritious food/beverage options! (Yes this is coming from a Dietitian;) )

The strawberries and granola on top were a nice touch, along with the drizzle of honey. I went with one other person and he had the PB Protein Smoothie which was fantastic as well! I wasn't sure how well pineapple would pair with peanut butter, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. Pineapple is such a nice addition to the traditional peanut butter and banana combo. My only gripe is the price point. $10 for a smoothie bowl and $8 for a smoothie seems a little steep. But then again, you're paying for healthy, yummy, high quality food. The gal who runs the shop is also so nice and efficient. I will definitely be returning to Karma Café!

It's always shocking to me that it's not more busy... it deserves to be! Haven't meet a smoothie, juice, or toast here I don't like, and this time we ordered from the kids menu. Love the little corner of kids books/items too! It was tough to pull my youngest away because he was having so much fun. No doubt we'll be back. The quality of the food consistently top notch and the many choices/alternates one can add on a custom bowl is huge. I consistently order my favorite bowl: The Seafood Harvest. My choice for the base is always quinoa, which most of the other restaurants offering poke bowls don't have. I love the fact that this bowl includes fresh diced avocado, roe and crispy fried shallots. (Take a look at my pix!). For an added bonus, they also make different type of Asian style teas and smoothies. The location is a super clean spot. You can tell that the owner named Ren and his wife who work there have so much pride in their restaurant. I HIGHLY recommend this location for your poke bowl meal!

I love to make my own protein shakes at home, but this place does it better. They only use water, ice and powders but somehow it comes out sooo creamy and thick, just like I like it. Packed with protein and has minimal sugars so #winning all around. My first visit I opted for the pumpkin cinnamon roll flavor, because fall, and it was divine! So satiating too which is great as they're meant to be meal replacements. On my second visit, the owner Katy (who is the sweetest), explained how great it is to get a shake and a tea for the purpose of the tea ingredients helping the body absorb the nutrients from the shake. She clearly put a lot of thought into creating this business and intention in all of the products. This is totally my wheelhouse so the combo made so much sense to me. I went for it and got the heath flavored shake and the mandarin-lemon tea. Sounds like a weird combo, but I first drank one then the next so it worked nicely. Big fan of the aloe in the teas, as it supports digestion as well. All in all, this place great! Beyond the tasty offerings, the cafe is cozy, clean, and welcoming. The entrance is tucked down off the sidewalk of Kilbourn, so don't miss it!

There are a couple of tables outside and more inside for small groups. They were very helpful in explaining some of the menu options. We were interested in an Acai bowl, and ended up with small Karma and Dragon bowls. Also ordered a Chai Latte (extra foam please). While we were waiting there were several other people that stopped by. All of whom had pre-ordered their to-go orders. After a short wait, we got our bowls and chai. They were both very good. Fresh, well presented, and good portions. The chai was also well made. Nice foam. (could have been hotter, next time will not that). One small suggestion. The Acai puree was very cold/almost frozen. Maybe that works well for to-go, but I needed to have it thaw out a bit to really enjoy the flavor. Nice place that I would come back to.

We wandered into Planet Smoothie's quaint shop and were greeted by the kindest staff. Right away, we were offered samples of a smoothie that was just made, which happened to be the carribean citrus splash. This was so yummy and refreshing! It's made up of coconut water, strawberries, orange juice, mango, and lemon. It's on their 'planet lite' menu, meaning its under 300 calories. I was tempted to get this one because it was so good, but I wanted a drink that would be a little more filling. I decided on the Mr. Mongo -- strawberries, bananas, frozen yogurt, milk, vanilla, and whey protein. With 17 grams of protein, it was the perfect filling drink to hold me over until dinner and give me a nice boost of energy. The drink itself was so creamy and perfectly sweet. The small is the perfect size too! I didn't make any substitutes, but the team was more than willing to make any swaps requested. The smoothies are great, but the pleasant and friendly staff made the experience even better.

My friend and I were craving smoothies so we took to the Yelp app to find what was near by. Happy to have discovered this little gem! Honestly there were just so many options I was having the hardest time deciding what I wanted! In the end I went for the Java The Nut, which is a blend of coffee, cocoa, peanut butter, bananas, frozen yogurt, nonfat milk. However the non-dairy gal over here had them use alternatives for that, which they were more than willing to do for me. I also had the protein add-on put in. This smoothie was so creamy and tasty! Plus bonus point for the caffeine energy boost. Though I enjoy sweet and fruity drink at times, this coffee-banana combo really hit the spot. Oh and a size small is big! Was definitely plenty to keep me full the rest of the day.
